Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, I'm Carla Campote with the entrepreneur Mom's podcast. Today
we have Andrea Ferira, who specializes in working with female
entrepreneurs who are introverted. How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Thank you so much for having me, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
For joining us today. So tell me how did you
get started working with entrepreneur women who are introverted?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Because I'm one of them, and I saw I went
through a journey to starting off for my business because
I had a past business for over nine years and
in the three the first three years of the business,
I wasn't showing that because I was too shy, I

(00:45):
was introverted. I was putting many excuses on myself, and
I also was working on myself. Even before having that business,
I was suffering from severe anxiety to go on camera
and that was a mess. It was really a mess,
and I was avoiding those events. But once I started

(01:09):
the business, I was in the back side of the business.
I thought I didn't need to show and yes, there
are business that can work that way, but I wanted
to make an impact. I wanted to make things differently.
And I saw other competitors showing up and I saw

(01:29):
the difference it made on their business. And I realized
I needed to change things for things to change, right,
I went through that, So yes, I decided to go
and work with introvert entrepreneurs. Although I love extroverts, but
in my view, extroverts, even the shy ones, have more

(01:53):
availability to go out there to speak right. But introverts,
we normally have very very vivids in a world and
we can go and grab many excuses. Not all of
us are like this. There are also action takers, introverts

(02:14):
action takers. It's not just the extroverts that are action takers.
But yes, introverts live very much in their inner world
and they can grab many excuses not to go further this.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
So, speaking of excuses, what are some of the excuses
that you hear often from introverted entrepreneurs.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Fear of judgment is one of them. Because introverts don't
like the spotlight. There are always some that feel that
they are not enough, they need more learning. Most of
it relates to not liking being on the spotlight and
thinking that they need to share too much. And it's

(03:00):
not like that although you share your self image, you
don't need to share every little bit of your life.
You can have boundaries and you can be reserved. And
there are plenty of entrepreneurs being introvert or extrovert that
you know that they have children, they have a family,

(03:21):
they have a husband, but you don't know them because
they set boundaries and they don't share all of it.
And that's okay. You need to understand what you are
comfortable and what you want to share, because at the
end of the day, we only know what the other
people want us to know, right, what they share, and

(03:44):
sometimes we don't know all the truth also, right, But
according to what I'm talking now, you don't need to
share all of it. It's not that you are hiding.
You can have boundaries. For instance, I have and I
don't share pictures of him on social media. Normally when

(04:05):
I share something with him, it's blurry not on purpose,
or he's on the back, or I take the picture
from the back so you don't see him. And also
my partner, he hates social media, is not on social media,
so I don't share him and I respect his boundaries also, right.

(04:27):
And nowadays we see all that perfect side of life
and people compare and think that they need to share
all of it. You have the freedom to share what
you want is your business. You do it on your terms, right.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yes, yes, we do it on our time for sure.
And it's interesting that you say that you don't have
to share everything all the time and beyond all the time.
What are your thoughts on people who say that you
have to be super popular to be a successful business online?
Do you think you have to be ultra popular to

(05:04):
be successful? And what do you say? Do you have
to be online all the time?

Speaker 2 (05:08):
No, no, no, you need to show up. And showing
up also is not about being there every single day
and showing your face every single day. There are plenty
of boys to show up for your business without being
there every single day. And it doesn't mean that the
straight line you a kind of a roller coaster. Also,

(05:31):
you don't need to be one hundred percent sharing yourself
all the time, and you need to understand what is
how you want to be seen and what is your
vision of success? Also because knowing your vision or success
also implies what you want to share. And yes, it's

(05:54):
very important that before you start showing up, you understand
to whom you want to talk, what you want to
talk about, and what you want to share of your
private life, of your vaccines. Because using your personal image
in your personal brands, you are sharing yourself, but you

(06:14):
are able to decide what you want to share. And again,
you don't need to share everything. It's like a traffic light,
right you have the green, the yellow, and the red.
You have the green part that I'm okay, totally okay
of sharing and I'm comfortable the yellow light. It's like,

(06:35):
what are things that in this area of my life?
What are the things that I can share from time
to time? But I don't want to be always sharing
and the red zone is what I'm not going to
share a boug because there are things in our business
and in our lives that it doesn't matter for us

(06:57):
to share because it's not related to our business. And
it's also important to know that once you are using
your personal image, your personal brand, your business, you don't
need to share everything just because you are sharing yourself.
It's important to share things that people, your ideal people

(07:17):
can relate with your business so they understand that you
are a good fit for them to help with what
you help people.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
I like that you say that it's a roller coaster
because I'm an omniver so I can be introverted and
extroverted depending on that social battery. So how do you
manage that as an introvert? How do you manage when
that social battery runs out? How do you manage the
roller coaster?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
And I was working on that. Yes, forning my block
time time blocks. I like to use timeblocks so I
know that on that day I use time not all
I use timeblocks each day, right, But I don't like
to be that orgies. There are people that use timeblocks

(08:08):
and from that time to that time is this. I
like more time blocks for each day of the week
so I can have more freedom and I can switch
things if I need. But this way I can work
in events, not only work, but even personal life. On Monday,
for instance, Monday morning, I do all things related with

(08:32):
self care, being at home, or appointments I need to have.
I try to schedule from with time so I can
tell if I need to book an appointment, I say
I have this day this morning from this hour, I'm free.
You can book that. So I give a little bit

(08:52):
of freedom to the other person. But I also have
freedom and I don't compromise the rest of the week
because I know that that morning is for this method.
Sometimes I can do other things, but I like to
have that freedom. But yes, time blocks are good, and
again you don't need to be all the time there.
You can have time blocks to write content, to produce content,

(09:16):
and you have freedom. You can have time blocks to
manage client work, so you can know that if you
feel that you are more depleted on the end of
the week, you only book client work in the beginning
of the week or in the mornings. Then you have
the rest of the day to make low maintenance activities.

(09:39):
For instance, I love timeblox.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
I like that you say they are time blocks and
they are not specific time so that you can move
things around. Right. We need that fluidity and ability to
move things around as busy morepreneurs. So what is your expertise?
Can you tell me what you teach entrepreneur women who
are introverted.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
I'm a certified image consultant and I support women improving
their personal image, not in a way for them to
create a character, but for them to dress has themselves
so they can feel confident. String up because I noticed
with my experience with women, many times, mostly when it

(10:23):
comes to shred on camera, on pictures or on video,
they get concerned about their personal image and many times
this makes them hold themselves from string up because always
my hair is and I think that they need to
have a bunch of pots and then it's overwhelming and
you need to think about your business so you can

(10:45):
have drancesies to make your day both moods, and you
keep your personal brand consistent. And I also support Wreamen
with the photoposing because many women still hide behind photoshoot
photoshoots and that's good, but sometimes they don't contract the

(11:06):
right photographer and not all photographers are good for personal
brand pictures and you need to have pictures polished, professional raw.
All pictures need to pick through your essence. That's the
way people connect with you. So I support treatmen understanding
how they can take pictures of them in a way

(11:30):
that speaks their essence.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
And I like that you're talking about this because I
did read about you before we started this podcast, and
that you have a lot of years in the fashion industry.
I'd love to hear all about that. And I don't
know if we have time to go over everything, but
can you tell us a little bit about your experience
with the fashion industry?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yes, yes, eighteen years on the fashion industry. I went
through several niches. I was very much on the creative side.
I worked on the fashion side on clothing and jewelry,
and then I can also Joey designer. And yes, that
experience shows me how much women try to improve their

(12:09):
personal image. But many times their choices are taking in consideration.
But others do what is on magazines and they don't
have a knowledge of themselves to make good choices. So
many times they use clothing, pieces of clothing, they use
jewelry that don't benefit their self image. And this also

(12:33):
impacts how they shock for their business, because you can
like very much piece of clothing or jewey you see,
then you buy, and then when you are wearing you
don't like to see yourself and then you think the
problem is you because it looks so good on other people. Right,
so you think you are the problem, and no it's not.

(12:55):
You are not the problem. What happens is that clothing
and joy is not when size fits all or one
design fits all, when format fits all. When clothing is
of clothing or jewelry are made, they are created for
a type of body, type of face. We don't have
all the same face, are all the body shape, and

(13:19):
the clothing and the jury and even glasses. They don't
fit the same person. All of it doesn't fit the
person like it would fit me, like it would fit you.
So it's important for us to know ourselves and understand
that so we can later do good choices because all

(13:42):
of these impacts how we shop for our business, how
confident we are showing up, how confident we are sharing
our message. So if you are not confident about something
about you, you will not share the message with the
same confidence, and people will make perceive that you are

(14:02):
not confident about what you are saying, you are not
confident about the results your business en So, yes, all
impact all speaks, and it's important to have that awareness.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
That's really deep because definitely, like if you're not confident,
you're going to stay off the camera, you're going to
stay off social media, You're going to be in those
feelings and it's going to affect your business, but in
turn affect your money, your house, you build, your kids,
everything you have going on that you have to take
care of. Right, this is all wonderful advice. I'd like
to know, like who is your perfect client? Who are
you looking to work with?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
My perfect clients are women who wants to make a
stand and want to make it and impacting other people's
lives and want to use their personal image and want
to make impact with their wisdom and want to be
in front of the cameras.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Interesting. So if I wanted to work with you to
improve my image for my personal bank, what does that
process look like.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
We we have an appointment, you feel formed after we start,
We go and understand what are your goals, what you
want to do. I have a one on one a
three months offer, and we work on the mindset. We
work on the personal image making, image consulting, we work

(15:26):
on photo posting, and also we work on the ideal
client understanding who they are. We go to the base
of the business understanding so they can start showing up
and understand who they are talking to, why, how and
when they want to talk to. So we work on
the base of the business so they can start showing

(15:48):
up and have priority on how to express themselves. Right. Yes,
Then I also have an offer that is a fifteen
that challenge. It's not available at the moment, but I
will relaunch it this year. It's a fifteen day challenge
to find your personal image style because inside the image

(16:09):
consulting process, the style, your personal style is what better
picks your essence. So it's very important for you to
understand how you want to show up, how you want
to be seen, and align all those things with your
personal style. So then if you go to do the menitry,

(16:30):
we can go deeper understanding what is your style, you
will start sharing up with more clarity also because you
understand better who you are and who you are sharing
to other people and who other people are perceiving you are.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
And that's really important because sometimes you show up and
what people are perceiving is not the image you want
to portray.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Yes, totally. And many women also think that they need
to dress like this because they see other people or
they they previously work on a need and they learned
that for you to look professional, you need to look
like this. So they even they don't relate with that
tile they dressed like that because they feel they are

(17:16):
supposed to do and you are not. You are supposed
to dress like yourself, and it is important for you
to understand who you are, what you like, and how
you want to be seen.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Yes, I think everyone like you said they follow magazines
I think they have to follow what somebody has told
them in a different need, and they're not themselves. That's
why they're probably unhappy right in a business because they're
being someone else.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Yes, yes, or better saying, establishing your personal brand is
about authenticity and if you are not alignment with your
true self, you are not going to be authentic sharing
yourself right.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yes. Indeed, so is there a specific niche that you
consider yourself to be the most experienced then.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yes, coaches, service providers, online business on the service business.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Okay, so coaches and service businesses. Can you share with
us a success story of a client that you previously
worked with?

Speaker 2 (18:15):
Yes, I remember about a client that she was He
thought that personal branding was all about the colors, the logo,
the fund And although that's important and we work on that,
not the logo.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
I don't logo, Lucky for us, I do logos and
website design, but we work on.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
The understanding that mostly understand the meaning of colors. That's important.
But she thought it was all about that, and once
she went through the process, she said that it impacted
not only how she show started to show for their business,
for her business, but also how she was showing up

(19:00):
for herself and for her relationship, and it improved her
own relationship with her husband because she was sharing more
of herself. Many many of us, not only introverts, but
many women are thought from young age that we need
to be quiet to do that right, get in the line.

(19:23):
This was also something that I don't say envy, but
it was something I wanted to improve on on myself
because I was taught that way. And once I started
to see women sharing their thoughts and fighting for their beliefs,
I got inspired. And that was the one of the

(19:44):
turning points that made me, yes, I need to start
to show up for my business because I need to
share my ideas, my thoughts, my beliefs. And yes, there
are many women that still hide from sharing what they
think because again fear of judgment and thinking they are
not enough. They thinking that they need to have X

(20:07):
and Y knowledge to start sharing something, or they need
a PhD.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Or many women.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Think that they need more and more to start making
any impact. And you can make an impact in the
most things.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
That's a bit offul. I love your message like show
up as yourself and make an impact just being you authentically.
I love it so before we go because we're running
out of time. How can people connect with you? Where
can they find you? What's your website? Your social media platform?
How can they find you?

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Okay, you can find me on social media on showing
up with Andrea is my name. And also have a
