(00:00):
Hey everyone, So I had sometime between clients this morning, and I
wanted to jump on and share somemindset and some practical tips of you that
I was covering in last night's weeklyMindset and Strategy Coach and Call for MMS
Academy. And I also want togive you some tips on how to apply
them to your life and business. And then I wanted to answer some questions

(00:23):
about monetize your podcast of boot Camp. Huge welcome to those of you who've
already joined and come in. ButI have had some questions and I thought
that it would be great to answerthose first. So let's dive in with
those questions, and then I'll sharewith you some of the mindset and tips
from last night. So a fewpeople have been asking, you know,

(00:46):
I don't have a podcast, andI'm not sure where to start. Will
this will be helpful? Absolutely?Absolutely? The program itself is full of
mindset and practical advice and tips frommy own early with podcasting, I've been
doing two podcasts for four years now. They are hands down one of the

(01:06):
best business decisions I've ever made, and they're also fabulous for your positioning,
your marketing, your income, allof those great things. So even if
you've never podcasted before, what I'mgoing to be coaching you through is things
like how to plan fabulous content foryour audience, how to market your podcast.
I'll give you tons of inside andtips on delivering a great session.

(01:30):
I'll also cover lots of things likeyou know, do you need to post
at a certain time, how doyou handle things like you know what episodes
to post when? All of thetechnical pieces, but it's really about the
business side of podcasting. A sidenote there as well. There's also going
to be, as there are inmost of my programs, a lot of

(01:52):
mindset and business tips and advice ingeneral. So a lot of pieces around
like self confidence, money, mindssaid, really leveling up your brand.
Okay, I was a publicist forover ten years in some of Europe's top
agencies, So everything I share withyou not only do I do with my
business a coach, a mentor myclients through a lot of it's also stuff

(02:15):
that I learned in agency as well, So very high end stracted us for
you there. The other question Ihad was how do I know if it's
the right time for me. I'mgoing to be very direct with you if
you're listening to this podcast, andyou're especially listening to this piece around monetize
your podcast training. It's the righttime for you. And I'm not saying

(02:37):
that to be pushy or like froma marketing place. What I mean is
this, there's actually no time limitson this whole idea. You could technically
start in six months if you wantedto. But here's the thing. The
truth is, as in start yourpodcast, the truth is, if you've
already been thinking about it for morethan a few weeks and you haven't done

(02:59):
it, your hold yourself back.Okay, you're holding yourself back, and
you're also leaving a lot of moneyon the table, and you're also you
know, leaving a lot of peopleon the table, shall we say.
I'm not sure if that expression works, but there's also lots of people that
you could be helping with your content, and you can't do that with a

(03:19):
podcast that's not out there. I'veconnected with, you know, quite a
few people over the last few monthswill say things like, oh, I've
been thinking about launching my podcast sinceJanuary. Now in May you know,
or yeah, once I've done thepodcast, then this and that, and
then like a month or two laterat least still haven't done it. There's
no judgment here at all. Bythe way, I understand, people get

(03:40):
overwhelmed, they get a little bitconfused, they keep putting things off.
Don't do that to yourself anymore.Okay, and monetize your podcast I'm going
to be really coaching you through likeself confidence. With podcasting. You're also
going to get tons of business tipsas well, so you can start using
the podcasts as a brand asset anda business tool. It's not just about

(04:02):
you parting time assigning to it,or thinking you have to go and record
loads of things. It's about makingit fun but also making it a really
great business asset for you and alsoan audience builder. I'll be very transparent.
It's probably one of the best thingsI've ever done for my business,
for my online sales, my coachingprograms, my coaching practice. It's been

(04:27):
fabulous for things like building trust andcredibility and also authority. Okay, I'm
not sure how I feel about thatword in the kind of coaching space,
but podcasting is absolutely something that youcan do whether or not you're a coach.
By the way, you don't haveto be a coach you could be
in real estate, you could bea nutritionist, personal trainer. I've worked
with all types of clients. Whatpodcasting will do it will create a long

(04:51):
term brand asset that you can useto sign on high end clients, make
passive income, and of course boostyour sales. It also gives you a
platform to reach an international audience. It's far more credible as well than social
media, other social media platforms.I'm going to go into this in the

(05:12):
program itself, but I want togive you a little example. Right,
things like Instagram, Facebook, TikTokthey are scroll based, Okay, they're
scroll based. People scroll when they'reon them. So people will tell me
things like, oh, I spendhours writing all these Facebook posts and like
no one's bought anything, or hoursrecording a TikTok or Instagram. I mean

(05:32):
that just sounds draining to me.But and then you know I've got three
likes. So you're very dependent onthings like an algorithm and also the fact
that people are scrolling. With apodcast, people are automatically connected to you
because people listen to a podcast, right, They're on that platform to listen
to you. So when they're searchingyour topic, when you come up when

(05:55):
they find your podcast, They're notscrolling through multiple podcasts, they're actually listening
to you, and I will staywithin that. Part of the magic of
podcasting is you're talking with people,or you're talking, let's say, to
them, rather than at them. And that's what a lot of social media
platforms are getting wrong. Now,Okay, they're talking at people, trying

(06:16):
to get their attention, trying topush push by now do this. It's
a little bit tacky. Okay,it's a little bit low end. And
the people I work with are highend business owners. My clientell a high
end, the people I work witha high end. Podcasting is absolutely a
fabulous strategy for connecting with people ina way that feels mutually beneficial. Right,

(06:39):
they're getting to know you, they'retalking, they're talking, and they're
getting to know you. You're talkingto them, they're enjoying your content.
But from a business point of viewas well. By the time people are
connecting with you, they're already soldbecause you've already helped them so much when
they trust you. Right. Theother question I got was, is this

(06:59):
disability help call for me if I'mnot in the coaching space. Absolutely,
I did just cover that a littlebit, but absolutely, okay, absolutely
most of my clients I would sayprobably fifty percent or not coaches. I
use very coaching examples because I'm acoach and that's my background, you know,
as well as PR. But ifyou are in a more corporate role

(07:20):
or you do B to B,trust me, podcasting is amazing for you.
So do reach out if you'd liketo talk about the different membership plans
available. We have some packages aboutjust the program, some packages that come
with private coaching sessions, and alsodifferent options that come with access to MS
Academy as well. Cannot wait todo this round of monetizing your podcast.

(07:44):
It's going to be honestly, absolutelyepic. I'll put some links in the
show note to you as well.A little side note actually before I dive
in. Another side note is ifyou're called to do a podcast, don't
keep putting it off. It's oneof the best things you can do for
yourself and your business. But also, you're starting to build up a body

(08:05):
of work on a platform that's notpeople scrolling all the time and clicking this
and getting overwhelmed. You're starting tobuild a high end body of work and
that's really what this is about. So cannot wait to teach this and really
looking forward by the way to connectit with those of you you've already enrolled.
So the mindset that I was sharinglast night in the NMS Academy's call,

(08:28):
and how you can start applying thisto your business. I was coaching
last night on how to tell yourclients that you're raising your fees or that
you have raised your fees, eitherthroughout the business or maybe your signature program
or a part of the business ora product or service. Now I'm going
to share with you one of thekey pieces that so many people will message

(08:50):
me about afterwards. I don't wantto give this to you as a gift.
It is not actually about you, right, shocking, I know it's
not about you. I see alot of coaches out there, a lot
of business owners talking about how they'releveling up, how they're going to that
next level, how they're really upgradingtheir brand, and they're raising their fees.

(09:13):
Honestly, that is something you talkabout with your coach, your mentor
your team, your colleagues, andit's not something your clients need to hear.
What your clients do need to hear. And this is what I was
going into in depth in last night'scall, is the benefit to them.
Okay, So instead of talking abouthow you're leveling up and you're raising your

(09:33):
fees, what I would be advisingyou to do, and I was teaching
this in depth last night, istalk about the benefit to the client.
You want to talk about we're levelingup the client experience. We're leveling up
the return on investment. We're levelingup the content for you, We're leveling
up the client journey or the customerexperience. That's when you talk about leveling

(09:58):
up. I think it's a littlebit Distan school to be talking to your
audience about your own level up.They don't really care or need to know
about that. What they want toknow is what's in it for them,
all right. So that's the first, I guess mindset piece and also practical
piece, right, Make it aboutthem instead of talking about raising your fees.

(10:18):
I talk about this a lot withmy peers and with my clients and
students, because that's what they're doing. But I don't recommend you talk to
your clients like that. Any clientfacing languaging needs to be around new fees.
Summer fees, new year's rates, right, you can make it seasonal

(10:39):
also spring rates. You could tieit to, you know, the new
year. You can talk about yournew fee structure. There's tons of different
ways that you can communicate this withoutmaking it sound like how I'm going to
charge you more money, because nobodywants to hear that, and nor should
they. What you want to dohere is embrace the mindset of it's no

(11:03):
big deal that the fees a bitlarger. It's no big deal because it's
absolutely worth the investment. So,for example, you know, if you're
charging high end fees for your coaching, then of course that makes sense because
you're delivering a high end experience. The content you deliver as high end,
and your client absolutely benefits from investingin themselves. If you say things like

(11:26):
I'm leveling up and I'm raising myfees, it's kind of off putting because
it can come across like you're almostoverly trying to justify why you're raising your
fees. You know, I wasa PR person for you know, ten
years. I still run programs onPR, I advise on PR, and
I also have been coaching people aroundthe world for you know, over ten

(11:50):
years now through one on one sessionsand group programs. Whenever I'm coaching someone
around the mindset of raising their feesand the languaging and the messaging, we
always this always comes up, thisneed of like, but I want to
feel like I'm justifying it. Theonly thing you need to be justifying is

(12:11):
the benefit to the client. Soagain, you don't want to be talking
about your own level up or yourown you know, upgrading your own mindset
or your fees. Right what theclient needs to hear and should hear is
how you're leveling up the client experience. You're leveling up your program. You're
leveling up the results they can expectif they do the work. You're leveling

(12:35):
up the content for them, theresources. Just those pieces alone, I
could talk about for hours because there'sa mindset shift there. But I really
hope you're you're getting from this. It's not about you justifying or explaining or
convincing. And it's certainly not aboutyou, okay, It's about the client.

(12:56):
Whether you're a coach, a personaltrainer, a chef, you're in
real estate titionists. I have clientswho do all these by the way,
you know, you want to makeit about the client benefit to them,
and when you do use phrases likeleveling up or upgrading or next level,
it should always be about, youknow, the clients experience the benefits of

(13:16):
working with you, what they canexpect as a client. You know.
So, for example, when clientssign up with me for a VIP day,
or they sign up before say threeor six months private coaching, what
we do is generally start with eithera kickstart session which is typically nineteen minutes
to two hours, and then wedo weekly coaching calls, or we do

(13:37):
a VIP day and then weekly coachinggoals for say three or six months.
Now they don't just get the weeklycoaching sessions and the VIP day, They
also get access to MMS Academy. They get access to my coach training program,
might be your own publicist boot Camp. They get access to a library

(13:58):
of call recordings that has of atwo years worth of weekly calls on you
know, brand strategies, mindset, coaching, business pr all those fabulous things.
So when I was communicating my newpackages with clients, you know,
when did they make the big shiftabout anyway, three or four years ago,

(14:20):
what I would talk about was howyou know I'm really leveling up your
experience as a client. So notonly do you get one on one time
with me to go over your businessmodel, your mindset. You know,
you get me to get my coachingand my advice and my mentoring, you
also get access to this huge bodyof work I've created so that between sessions

(14:41):
you can dip in and listen tosome trainings to give you some advice or
guidance or tips. Right, SoI would encourage you to do the same
as well, like create things withinyour business that you can absolutely demonstrate and
you can use to communicate the levelup of the client experience. Okay,

(15:03):
So often when clients dine up withme as well, one of the things
I'll also do is like send thema gift. So I'll send them things
like access to a course that theymentioned they would love to take, or
I'll give them resources between sessions, like I'll say, I would suggest you
listen to the following trainings of minebefore our next call. I've attached you
know, a link for you todownload them My treat things like that.

(15:26):
Right, that's a high end VIPclient experience. Talking about your own level
up is not okay. As thecoach or the service provider, you already
should be leveling up yourself. Youdon't need to talk about it. What
you do need to talk about isthe benefit to the client and how you
can help them in a much deeperway. So I hope you've enjoyed this

(15:48):
episode. This was totally from theheart this one. I didn't make any
notes. So if you would liketo know anymore about joining monetize your boot

We also have availability for one threemonth client, so if you'd like

(16:33):

I'd love to jump jump on azoom with you. Have a coffee see
where you're at, see if it'sa great fit, and most importantly,
help you to move forward powerfully withyour mind setting goals. I have a

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
