really appreciate you. So let's divein. This is going to be an
episode about This was inspired by aconversation I had with a client about two
(00:45):
days ago. We were coaching onreally going past what you think is possible
for yourself, and we were coachingon this idea of cost, right,
what are the cost of your goals? Now? I don't remember the specific
person who've said it, but Iremember seeing something a while ago that said,
you know, the cost of yournew life is your old one,
(01:06):
and I'm going to add to thata few pieces. Right, the cost
of your new mindset is your oldone. Right. The cost of having
what you want in your life andbusiness is the cost of not only what
you have now, but also thatthe effort and the investment and the time
that it takes to get there. So, if you are brand new to
me, you know, I'm notsomebody who teaches this ridiculous get rich quick
(01:30):
or overnight success or any of thatrubbish. I'm somebody who really believes in
treating your life and your business goalsas an act of self love and self
respect, and with that comes proactive, consistent effort, steps forward, and
of course adjustments. So we're goingto talk today about cost. Right.
(01:52):
I want to coach you on theidea of taking yourself and your business seriously
and really understanding that everything in lifehas a cost. Everything, whether it's
getting in shape, whether it's movinginto a bigger house or apartment, raising
your fees, stepping up with yourbusiness and taking yourself seriously, or just
hitting your income goals. Nothing inlife comes for free, and it's not
(02:15):
meant to. Whether you're paying withenergy and consistency, whether you're investing in
a program or a coach, ormaybe you're doing all of those things.
I want you to understand that costis not a bad thing. Okay,
cost is actually investment when you chooseto see it that way. Think a
(02:36):
bit like this, right, Let'ssay you want to get in shape for
a marathon. The price that youwould pay or the cost of that would
be, okay, a personal trainer. But beyond that, it would be
getting up and going running when youdon't want to. It would be adjusting
your lifestyle around that goal. Itwould be maybe a little bit of muscle
soreness, right, Maybe it wouldbe needing to stretch a bit more or
(02:59):
sleep a little bit more, allof that kind of stuff. Same thing
with your business. I coach peoplearound the world, both in my online
academy and the Mess Academy and inmy private coaching practice, and I can
tell you the people who really getthe big results, right, the people
who make the big changes, getthe big breakthroughs, and get what they
(03:19):
want basically, are always the peoplewho they'll look at a goal and they'll
go, Okay, what do Ineed to do to get to that goal?
Rather than running away from that andrunning towards these ridiculous get rich quick
things or how can I get therewithout doing anything? The people who are
really successful in life are the peoplewho look at things and they go,
(03:40):
that's my goal, what's my costto get there? What do I need
to do both in terms of physicalactions and steps, what do I need
to do in terms of getting helpand support, and what do I need
to do in terms of investing inmyself. You see, whenever I coach
someone who tells me there's or they'rejust not getting what they want, I
(04:02):
often find there's like a reluctance ora resistance to really embracing the cost of
getting what you want because you can'tdo the same things you've been doing and
expect different results. Similarly, ifyour business isn't where you want it to
be, if you're not charging enough, if you're not making enough money,
(04:23):
but maybe you've been saying for awhile that you want to do something about
it, you want to step upall that stuff. That's great, but
the cost of not doing that isgoing to increase every day. What I
mean is every time you say you'lldo something and you don't do it,
you're actually wasting your own time.I'm going to be a little bit blunt.
Now, you're wasting your own time, and you're costing yourself the results
(04:46):
that you want. You know, financially, absolutely, that's obvious, right,
you're costing yourself not having the moneyyou want to have, not having
the clients, not having the growth. But beyond that, you're probably costing
yourself a lot of self respect.Because self respect and self worth and self
confidence, they can't be given toyou from the outside, not in a
(05:08):
lasting way. They come from trustingyourself, showing up for yourself, taking
consistent action when you say you will. I've used this example many times,
and I'm going to repeat it againnow. If your best friend or anyone
actually anyone in your life kept sayingthat they would do something and they were
really serious about it this time, and they talked about it, and then
(05:29):
they didn't do it, especially ifit was something to do with you and
something you needed help with, youprobably wouldn't have a great relationship with them,
and you certainly wouldn't have much faithin them. It's exactly the same
with yourself. Okay, every timeyou say you'll do something, or you
make a commitment to make a changeand you don't do it, you lessen
your self trust, which to meis like the foundation of you feeling really
(05:53):
good about yourself and having healthy selfworth and self esteem. And the reason
this is so important is your selfesteem affects everything in your life, everything
in your business, and everything inbetween. Right's all connected. So what
we want to do is develop areally strong inner life, healthy self worth
and self esteem, healthy levels ofself love and self respect. But more
(06:15):
importantly, we want to look atthings in a really proactive way. So
I want you to think about somethingthat you really want to change in your
business. Whether it's stepping up,taking yourself seriously, raising your fees and
actually creating wealth. Maybe it's goingto your next level. Maybe it's starting
a project like a podcast or abook, whatever it is, I want
(06:38):
you to think about that, andI'm going to share with you three pieces
of mindset that I prepared for you, and then we're going to wrap up
with a coaching question. So ifat any point you are listening to this
and you're going, oh my god, this is amazing, I want to
do more of this work and divein, you can drop us an email
support at Money Mindset and strategy dotcom. We'll be happy to talk to
(06:59):
you about a number of group programswe have that I run, as well
as private coaching packages with me,but less i've in. So the first
piece of mindset I want to giveyou is the cost of making a change
or the cost of staying the same. The choice is yours. But there's
always a cost. Okay, there'salways a cost. There's no way in
life of ever not having a cost. All right. People seem to run
(07:21):
away from that word because they think, oh, I have to give something
to get something. Well, yeah, you do. That's how life works.
So make the choice right. Ifyou're not taking action because you don't
want to spend any money on yourself, you don't want to spend any money
on your business, you don't wantto invest, you don't want to go
for that run, whatever it is, then the cost you are experiencing is
(07:44):
staying stuck and or staying the same. At the time of recording, we've
got how long do we have left? About three and a half months left
of this year. And I've beensaying this for a while in my group
coaching calls. But you know,I want you to imagine yourself on January
first, waking up brand new year. Do you want to be spending the
(08:05):
spending the first day of the newyear thinking I really wish I'd done more
because everything is still the same andI've been talking about it more and more
and doing nothing. Or do youwant to stand there and go, I'm
so proud of myself for the amazingchanges that I made, because I want
that for you. And it's thesame whether it's your business, whether it's
your fitness, whether it's your project, whatever it is, choose the cost,
(08:30):
but own it, right, youhave to own it, so no
excuses. Do you want the costof staying the same and doing nothing or
the cost of making a change, because one is an investment in yourself and
the other is it's literally just anexpense with no roy I'm sure you can
guess which one. I'm going tosay. The next piece of mindset,
forew is I want you to doexactly that, right. I want you
(08:52):
to reframe costs as investments. Soyou want to invest in yourself, in
your goals, in your mindset,in your skill building. Investing in yourself
is actually about respecting yourself, respectingyour goals, and it's about seeing yourself
as worth it and taking yourself seriously. Okay, if you're running a business
(09:16):
and you're a self employed person,I want need to ask yourself, am
I taking myself and my business seriously? If you'd hired yourself to grow your
business, do your marketing, bringin sales or that stuff. Would you
get a promotion or would you fireyourself? I want you to be in
a place where you would promote yourself. Don't fall into the trap of thinking
(09:37):
because you run your own business thatyou can like you know, you can
do less and you don't have toreally step things up, etc. In
that is the opposite. Right whenyou run your own business, as many
many, many of my clients andlisteners do, you need to reframe costs
as investments. So look at whereyou want to be in your business,
what areas you want help with orsupport with, and ask yourself, how
(10:01):
can I invest in those areas togrow and to change and to upgrade.
If you want to be a lawyer, you go to law school, right
if you want to be an architect, you would study for a long time.
Since you know sending to the doctor, I just had some dental work
done cosmetic and I had an amazingconversation with the dentist. He owns two
practices here, amazing young guy, really talented. They're called the Smiling Clinic.
(10:26):
They're amazing or drop some links soon. And we were talking about how
long he went to dental school withand he kept saying it was an investment
in me, you know, buildingthe skills that I wanted to build so
I can do this. So I'dlike you to think of the same thing.
Where do you need to invest inyourself, in your skills, in
your mindset to grow. Many peoplecome into MMS Academy for exactly that reason.
(10:48):
They want to be in a placewhere they're working on their mindset,
they're learning new skills, they're building, they're developing, they're growing their business.
It's all self paced, so youcan come in at any time.
You can start your training wherever it'smost important to you. We have trainings
on money mindset, on creating packages, creating income streams, raising your fees,
(11:13):
creating high end vi IP offers. We have a whole section I created
for you on digital products and groupprograms, lots of fab examples for you
to follow, and also a wholesection on dealing with clients and customers,
and we also have one year accesswhich is renewable if you'd like to weekly
group coaching calls with me to keepyou on track moving forward and again learning
(11:37):
new things. Right, we needto embrace the mindset of learning new things
and investing in ourselves. Because here'sthe thing, nobody can ever invest in
you beyond how much you invest inyourself. So if you're not putting money
into learning and growing and developing,I'm guessing your sales or plateau or your
income definitely will because what are yousending to the universe, what message you're
(12:01):
sending out I'm not worth investing in, I'm not really worth spending the money
on. I often see that asbeing a very big money block for a
lot of people, right they don'twant to spend any money on courses or
training or really on you know, websites or branding, etc. But then
they're also not making any money becauseit's not just about the physical thing,
right, It's about what it meansto your consciousness and to your relationship with
(12:24):
life and to yourself. You're sayingto yourself and you're saying to life,
I don't think I'm worth spending themoney on. If somebody that you really
loved, someone that you really lovedand respected, came to you and said,
you know, can you pay forthis for me? It's going to
help me get towards my goals,it's going to help me grow, it's
going to help me stay connected onyou, on track with my goals and
(12:46):
intentions. You would probably go,yeah, of course I want that for
you. Do that to yourself.Love yourself that much that you choose to
invest in yourself, both with takingaction, taking steps forward, and of
course skill or building and development aswell. Next piece of mindset for you
is you're worth investing in, allright, you are worth investing in.
(13:09):
You wouldn't you know, take oneshort course I don't know to be an
architect and then you know, nevertake a course again and just say,
oh well I already did that. No, people like that are constantly taking
trainings and courses. They have mentors, you know, they're doing lots of
professional development. Some of my biggestclients, as in the ones who run
(13:30):
the most successful businesses, are alwaysin some kind of training and development program.
It's not because they need to keeplearning, it's because they choose to
see it as an investment, andit's it's how you keep on top of
things right, It's how you keepa really empowered mindset because you know you're
investing in yourself. You're investing inyour goals, whether it's a physical action
(13:52):
like going for that run, sittingdown and writing the book, writing the
article, recording the podcast, youknow, doing the website, whatever it
is, or it's the you know, the financial cost whatever it is.
Everything in life costs money and that'sokay, everything costs time, and that's
okay. You are worth investing in. And then the last point I've got
for you is I want you toreframe investment and costs and all that stuff
(14:18):
as an act of self love. You know, you wouldn't expect to You
wouldn't expect to run a marathon ifyou weren't training, and you weren't seeing
a personal trainer, and you weren'tdo all those things right, you just
you would obviously just not do that. So I want you to look at
your business. I want you tothink about, you know, where can
I invest in my growth? Whathelp and support do I need? And
(14:41):
how can I show myself I'm serious, because that's what this really comes down
to right. We've got, youknow, a few months left of this
year. Let's wrap this year upreally powerfully, and let's start the next
year with lots of energy and momentumbehind our goals. The time to start
the new year it's not January first, actually now, because things can take
a few weeks and months to startto get energy amendmentum behind them. I
(15:07):
saw a beautiful post the other dayon Twitter and it said the last thing
that shows on a tree is thefruit. So I want you to keep
that mindset as well. Right, you want to wake up on jan first
and eat the fruit and enjoy allthat great stuff. Start planting those seats
now, start watering them. You'reworth investing in. You know, if
(15:28):
you're putting off sitting down and writingthat book, you're thinking, oh,
you know, don't want to,or I can't, or I could go
out to the beach or whatever, don't do that to yourself. Your goals
are worth investing in. Your mindsetis worth investing in, and your business
is worth investing in. Take yourselfseriously and instead of running away from costs,
(15:48):
reframe it as investing and you know, run towards where can I invest
in? Myself. What area canI invest in for my growth and for
my success? So I'm going toleave you with a final coaching question and
then I'll make you a special offer. So the coaching question is this,
how can I take myself and mygoals seriously? How can I take myself
(16:12):
and my goals seriously? You canmeditate on it, you can write that
down in your journal, you canput on a whiteboard. If you work
with a team, you can absolutelyraise that at a team meeting. Right,
how can we take ourselves and ourgoals seriously? What steps to?
What steps physically and what steps withinour mindset as well? If you'd like
to talk about private coaching or cominginto MMS Academy, I'd love to have
(16:36):
a chat with you. Drop usan email support at Money, Mindset and
Strategy dot com. We'll be happyto book you in for a thirty minute
consultation, listen to where you're atand help you to decide what the best
next steps are and if it's agood fit for you to come into MMS
or private coaching, and then wecan talk about the different packages and programs
that we have for you and foryour goals. But one last time,
(16:59):
you are worth investing in. Okay, don't run away from costs and investment,
reframe them and run towards the thingsthat are going to get you to
where you want to be. Havea beautiful weekend everyone,
