Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to the Morning Report. I'm your host Willy Lawson,
and today we're flying straight into the eye of a
global storm, but not the kind tracked by weather satellites.
We're talking about the ninety six billion dollar aircraft deal
a Middle Eastern power player and an America's flying fortress
(00:26):
known as al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Again, this
is not just about jets. It's about geopolitics, power and
the growing times between Washington and DC and Doha. Let's
not forget, folks, we're talking about a country with a
(00:46):
population of Iowa, Iowa. But the Walbot of Fort Knox
guitar plays a bigger role in your everyday life than
you think. And by the end of this podcast you're
(01:06):
gonna know you're gonna understand why. All right, let's start
with the money. We always talk about that. Let's follow
the money because that will that usually clears things up.
So back in May May, that's this month, May have
twenty twenty five, Gatar inked a record setting deal with
(01:27):
Boeing to purchase up to two hundred and ten aircraft,
including seven eight seven Dreamliners and some cargo variants of
that with a total variant assuming with a total volume
of ninety six billion dollars, that million billion. Why does
(01:49):
this matter because Boeing isn't just a company, It's a
pillar of the US economy and a crucial player in
manufacturing fence and aerospace dominance. This deal props up thousands
of US jobs. We talked about that this week. It
injects life into domestic production lines and strengthens boeing to
(02:11):
global leverage, especially against his European rival Airbus. Well, a
lot of us have floated on flown on Airbus like
three twenties, three twenty ones, three twenty three, twenty one.
Meos nice planes, right, but they dominate in Europe. They
dominate in Europe, and it's about time that Boeing got
(02:34):
back on his feet. Guitar has become one of Boey's
biggest customers in the Gulf, rivaling even Immirates. Everybody knows
about the quality of Immirates airlines. I mean, you know,
that's that's almost a destination. It's kind of a Disney
World feeling of flying, especially flying internationally, not flying internationally coach,
(03:02):
but flying internationally the first class or business class top
of a line. This isn't just about new toys. It's
about strategic realignment in a region where commercial and military
aviation overlap. Many of these jets will end up in
the Qatar's Airways global fleet, sure, but others, like the
(03:24):
cargo variants, and what I mean about cargo variants, A
lot of these plays, like seven forty sevens for example,
A lot of those have been turned into planes that
you see delivering FedEx. Are you delivering ups or DHL.
That's a cargo variant. Yes, they rip out all the
(03:45):
seats and they outfit them to carry cargo, yes, and
surveillance equipped platforms. They have dual use potential. And Boeing's
willingness to accommodate custom configuration speaks volumes. So Boeing is like, yeah, well,
what do you want to do with this plane. You
(04:06):
want to make it a cargo plane, Sure we can
do that. Do you want to make it a really
nice passenger plane, Sure we can do that too. Do
you want to make it a surveillance plane, Well, yeah,
we can do that too. Because there, because I don't
know's some reality in the world. Right. The deal came
just as tensions with China hits new heights And here's
a chess move. A big American aerospace win in the
(04:29):
Middle East offsets Chinese attempts to expand their belt and
road air logistics into the Gulf. Let me ask you,
if a ninety six billion dollar deal were announced with
China or France, do you think the media would blink? Yeah,
probably not. But with Qatar and Trump involved, suddenly it's
(04:52):
headlines and air on fire, hysteria. Suddenly it's insaneanity. Right.
But this is what we're I mean, this is what
excuse me, this is what we're dealing with. Anytime we're
talking about Trump and anything, we'll be right back at
(05:13):
seven weeks. Coffee. Every sip defends life. We give ten
percent of every sale to pro life pregnancy centers across America.
Drink coffee with conviction because your brew should stand for something.
All right, Listen, you don't spend ninety six billion dollars
(05:35):
unless we expect something in return. Right, So Qatar isn't
just buying planes, it is buying influence. Katar has A
as long sought to walk a tight rope between Iran
and the US and his fellow Arab neighbors by doubling
down with Boeing They're reinforcing a signal Qatar wants to
(05:57):
stay in America's good graces. They do, they have to militarily,
diplomatically and economically. They remember the Gulf ripped in twenty seventeen,
when Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Baharin and Egypt tried
to isolate them, and who stood quietly keeping the channels open.
(06:24):
This guy, this purchase is also a reminder to their neighbors.
Guitar may be small, but it has reach and American
backing to punch above its weight. These jets are more
than transportation. Their political air come and don't miss this.
(06:47):
Every time one of these planes take off with a
guitar tail and Boeing wings, he reminds the entire planet
that American manufacturing and the American diplomacy still rule the skies.
The Algudde Air Force Base is the crown jewel of
(07:08):
the US military operations in the Middle East. Located just
outside Doha, it hosts over ten thousand American service members
ten thousand and served as a forward operating hub for Sincom.
We know a little bit about Sinncom here because here
where I live, there's a Syentcom base. So there's lots
of work happening there. If it's anything like I'm sure
(07:31):
it's much busier and probably a lot more dangerous. It's
an important hub. But during the War on Terra, Al
Yadid was a mission mission central. It still supports operations
across a Rock, Syria and the broader Gulf. It's home
(07:52):
to a wax tankers, bombers, and the infrastructure to protect
American airpower wherever it's needed. Space is more than just
a military footprint leverage. It keeps guitar safe. That's important.
That it keeps catar safe, and they know that. It
(08:12):
also gives Americans a launch pad from which to monitor
Iran and support allies and keep oil shipping lanes open.
Something else that's very important. Right Qatar has invested over
one billion dollars of its own money in upgrading Alu
d Okay. This country has decided that they're going to
(08:35):
spend a billion dollars of their own money to upgrade
an American military base. That's how important they think it is.
And it isn't just they're being generous. It's insurance. Think
about this. Without that military base, you'd have to stay
from Turkey or or Diego Garcia. It's like trying to
(08:58):
play chess with half the board missing. Are you tired
of funding corporations? At Mammoth Nation Shop, American owned businesses
that share your values get exclusive member only deals that
pay for themselves. Join the America First marketplace at Mammoth
(09:22):
dot com. All right, let's get to the most controversial piece,
the guitar seven eighty seven Dash eight offer for US use.
A Boeing seven eighty seven Dash eight, once owned by
Guitars Elite, was reportedly offered as a temporary air Force
(09:43):
one due to delays in the VC twenty five B program.
This aircraft tail number is so you can look it up,
is pH HBJ and it has out and of course
it has been outfitted with also luxury interiors. But it's
basically what Boeing bills for state level travel. It's playing.
(10:09):
Here's a twist. The plane was never a gift to Trump.
It was never a gift to Trump. Oh oh, hear Pennsylvan,
Trumpez Grenaine, thank you that much. It was offered to
the US government. Now here's the I mean. But first
(10:35):
of all, I don't know if you guys remember, but
Donald Trump already has a plane. He's already got a plane,
and I think it's a seven forty seven five hundred
something dashed five hundred something. It's a more updated he
(10:58):
than he bought in twenty ten. I believe that it's
a more up to date plane as far as the
technology goes, not with he didn't have the e MP
and all that kind of stuff in it. But as
far as the basic plane goes, it's more upgraded than
Air Force one. It's a nicer it's a nicer plane,
do have the security, doesn't have the place for the
(11:20):
press and all that kind of stuff, But it's a
it's a nicer plane than the one that he fought
on Air Force one. Air Force one is kind of
a downgrade. Uh as far as as far as far
as the jet itself, as far as the plane goes right,
the physical aircraft goes right. So it was offered to
(11:40):
the US government. Now there's a plan to donate it
to the Trump Presidential Library. Now, first of all, that's
three years away. Now. If it's donated to the to
the library, now that sort of spark sort sort of
firestorm critic screen for the influences. But let's not forget again,
(12:02):
he already owns a plane. So the idea that that
that he needed or wanted some hand me down from guitar,
it's ridiculous. That was outrageous. Still in today's political comment
even symbolism becomes scandalous. But as we ask yourself this
(12:24):
and I love to do this, you all know this.
If if Joe Biden had gotten the same offer from
saying I don't know, France, Germany, Sweden, but it have
been scandalized or praise as international cooperation and how much
you know, the rest of the world loves Joe Biden
and it's so happy that there's an adult back in
(12:47):
the White House because that's one of the lands they're using. Right,
So here you go. So what's really happening? It is important.
Is it a broad or is it a well addressed
thank you for decades of US protection, arm sales and
(13:07):
security guarantees Because in the Middle East, symbolism matters. Qatar
may be showing a world that its loyalty lies with Washington,
not Beijing, not Tehran, and it's totally not Brussels. And
when you buy American you signal to everyone else in
(13:30):
the neighborhood exactly where your protection comes from. Even the
timing is strategic, right as Israel and Iran continue to
heat up the region and as Europe starts to pivot
on energy deals, Qatar wants to be seen as reliable, powerful,
(13:52):
and most of all, aligned with the West. Symbolism, folks,
is the currency of the Middle East was a jumbo
size coin. Well, hey, y'all, listen, there are watch of
ways to fund programs like this, and one of them
(14:15):
is for us to hope and pray to the YouTube
gods that we can get monetized and get a you know,
a three dollars check every month. Or we can we
can sell products you want to buy one of these
bad for my web, bad for my website, or we
could ask you to support us. And the direct ask,
(14:40):
quite frankly, is the most is the most difficult. So
what we're doing is we're asking you to go to
our Patreon account, but we hope to give you a
lot of behind the scenes and extra stuff, or just
to support us with a few dollars a month to
make sure that we can continue to do this work.
IB seen already how important independent podcasting and the like is.

It is to the total discussion. So what you can
do is you can go to patreon dot com, Patreon
dot com slash Morning Report. Join us there, patreon dot
com slash Morning Report. Thank you ever so much for
your support. We'll see you a little bit. All right,
(15:24):
here we go, here's here's here's a checkoway. This isn't
just about plants. We said, we keep saying that it's
about positioning. The US doesn't need to own the Middle East.
It just needs to outmaneuver it rivals. Deals like this,
air bases like uh Algu died, and symbolic gestures like
(15:48):
the seven forty seven eight send a loud message. America
is still the most powerful player in the skies and
on the ground. We have economic power through going, military
presidence through Alude, and a strategic alignment with partners like Guitar.
(16:08):
So while the media debates optics, real gegal political politics
is happening at thirty five thousand feet. Yeah, that's the deal, folks.
