welcome back to the Morning Report. I'm your host Billy
Lawson Fightbackmedia dot Com, fight Backmedia dot Com, Fightbackmedia dot
Com and fightbackmditv dot com. And today we're diving into
(00:20):
a piece of American political history that just got a
little bit more relevant because this has been the first
time in one hundred and thirty years that has happened.
A president has pulled off the impossible. He lost the
reelection and then came back to win. That's right, you
(00:41):
guys already know Donald J. Trump, the forty seventh and
the forty fifth president of the United States. He has
joined the ranks of exactly one other person, Over Cleveland
that you didn't know that as the original comeback kid
of American politics. Well, let's get to it. Who was
(01:04):
Glover Cleveland? And why does Trump return mirror history and
what makes these two political outsiders tick even when the
insiders want them gone. Well, hey, this episode of The
Morning Report is brought to you by seven Weeks Coffee.
(01:27):
Seven Weeks Coffee Pro Life, high quality and bold, just

now you can sip your coffee with convictions seven weeks
(01:49):
Coffee dot Com. Seven weeks coffee dot Com. All right,
let's start with the obvious. Glover Cleveland was America's twenty
fourth and twenty second president. He won, and he lost,
and then he came back, becoming the only US president
to serve two non consecutive terms. Well until now. Enter
(02:14):
Donald John Trump, who served as the forty fifth president.
He lost in twenty twenty under a hotly contestous circumstances.
But integrating that, you know, a few years ago, I
couldn't say that without getting this video taken down for
being an election denier. Anyway, and now it's back in
(02:35):
the White House as number forty seven. That puts Trump
in a category so exclusive it's only happened he only
has one name on the door over a century. History
doesn't just repeat it reloads, all right, Now, these two
dudes had They were a lot the same, but did
(03:00):
it in very very different ways. Cleveland was quiet, measured.
He was a lawyer by trade who believed in letting
his actions speak, He voted, He towed more bills than
anyone before him in history, and didn't really care who
(03:24):
in his own party he offended in the process. Well Trump,
Let's say, nobody has ever accused Donald J. Trump of
being too quiet. He communicates with forces, he governs the presence,
(03:45):
and he doesn't wait for permission from the media. He's
not the one who goes to see where the wind
is blown, or the global elite, or even half of
his own party. Trump doesn't whisper a change. He kicks
down the door and demands it. But the mission is
(04:06):
the same, shake up the system. Today's show is brought
to you by the great folks at Mammoth Marketplace, the

You know when these things happen because a lot, a
lot of times we don't know a lot about history.
You know, the Bible says that you know that there's
nothing new under the sun. And if we look back
(04:52):
at history, we'll find that that to be true. Both
men found as much opposition inside their own parties as outside.
Cleveland angered his fellow Democrats by supporting the goal standard
and slashing government pensions. They wanted, They wanted a handout machine.
(05:15):
The dude brought a ledger and a red pin. Now,
Trump's return to office haven't haven't really smoothed things over
inside the GOP either. Let's be honest. Some Republicans still
grip their teeth every time he speaks. Why. Because he's
(05:36):
not interested in business as usual. He's interested in business
that works for America. Trump and Cleveland both said no
to the political machines, and that's why the machines tried
to grind them up, but they didn't break. Now here's
(05:57):
something that's interesting. I think both men won not because
of the elites that liked them, because the people trusted them.
Grover Cleveland was known as Grover the good Man, whose
reputation for honesty sent him apart in a corrupt guilded age. Well,
(06:22):
Trump again never been described as quiet, but the voters
know exactly where he stands. You don't have to guess
with Trump. He says it, he does it, he owns it.
That direct connection with the public. That trust in authenticity
(06:48):
is what powered both of their returns. In short, America
doesn't always want a politician. Sometimes he wants to fight her. Hey,
