The NWT's best morning conversation with Wheeler, Ollie, Lekter, and special guests. Get the full show live each weekday, 7-9am.
Cabin Radio got Zuck'd. Again. So what do we do now? We march right back in there and create yet another Facebook page! Because we know, "Yellowknife runs on 'bookin."
Chrissie is headed west. We shall miss her dearly.
Wheeler just got back from two humid weeks in New York. Mooresy doesn't want to hear about it because he neglected to get her a coffee. And now we fight.
Lekter wanted birthday pancakes. He didn't get them. Jasmine would like to stop receiving parking tickets. She keeps getting them. We can't always get what we want.
After waiting nearly 24 hours to allow time for yesterday's huge news to reveal itself as some kind of cruel prank, or the dreaded "wrong press release" gag, we're now nearly ready to believe that we got our FM licence for realsies. Maybe we'll wait out the long weekend, just to be sure.
Yep, we got it. Cabin Radio is now OFFICIALLY your next northern FM radio station. However, that all happened AFTER this morning's show, making this arguably the quickest-to-become-obsolete podcast episode we've ever produced.
This weekend in Yellowknife: A return of the Tale of Two Fests... IN THE OLD SCHOOL CORNER; The Old Town Ramble n Ride... IN THE NEW SCHOOL CORNER; Ribfest.
There was no shortage of events happening this past weekend! Hay Days...Ptarmicon...and the NWT Culinary Festival, during which you may have caught the rare Elke meltdown!
There are certain skills one must acquire in order to be a good uncle. One of them is reading children's books. It doesn't always come naturally! But as always, practice makes perfect.
Lekter's been alone the last couple mornings with nobody to debrief the festival that was FOTR 2025. Finally, some cool kids have wandered into the studio.
The Prince of Darkness has left us. Strangely, after all this time, a day that many of us much younger than him thought we'd never live to see.
A lightning storm. A nice summer day. A cold, unrelenting wind. An on-stage marriage proposal. And a whole whack of great music. FOTR 2025 was a rollercoaster.
That's right, we've finally done it! Broadcasting since 2018 as Cabin Radio, but not in a real cabin...this weekend, at Folk on the Rocks, we are HOME.
We've all seen the recent transformation taking shape at Yellowknife's Center Square Mall...upper level. But now, FINALLY, some potentially great news for the lower level! Could this mean the Center Square Wall might finally come down?!
Have you been composting improperly, Yellowknife? Let's see... dog poop? OOPS! Plastic cups (even the ones that say "compostable" apparently)? Yep, that's an OOPS!! Still intact animal carcasses? Oh, you better believe that's an OOPS!!!
Intern Elke leaves us all in the dust with a wonderful Studio 1 performance. Catch her live at Float on the Rocks this Thursday!
...of hilarity! Mike the Plumber joins the show to chat stand-up comedy, Wednesday's show at the Underground, and a little pro wrestling for good measure.
Caution: This episode may contain a gnarly fart joke.
She sees all. She serves all. But don't you dare order a tea.
Representatives of Minnesota and Wisconsin have politely informed us that our Canadian wildfires are making it difficult for them to enjoy their summer. On behalf of Climate Change, we're sorry.
If you've ever wanted to know about champagne, satanism, the Stonewall Uprising, chaos theory, LSD, El Nino, true crime and Rosa Parks, then look no further. Josh and Chuck have you covered.
