Speaker 1 (00:11):
Hey guys, you time to time and time and time
and time again. It's time for motivation you motivation you Hi,
How you doing? How you been? It is new? It
is how you're beard marathon? Or and this byck, oh
my gosh, it's motivation you Hi? How you doing? How
you ben? I have this great little audio clip for you,
this great little audio clip for you that I think
you need to hear. You really really need to hear
(00:31):
this one. Because I heard it and I got chills
and I was I found myself just nod in my head,
shaking it up and down. Yes, yes, yes, preach, preach,
And I thought, man, I gotta bring this to you.
So sit back. Check out this like one minute twenty
second clip from none other than Tom Brady, and we'll
(00:53):
talk about it on the other side. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
And I said, coach, like, I you know, what's my
situation like? And he said, Brady, I want you to
stop worrying about what all the other players on our
team are doing.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
You.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
All you do is you focus on the starter, the
second guy. You don't worry about what's you're focused on.
You came here to be the best I want you
at this program and if you're going to be the best,
you got to beat out the best.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I would complain all the time that the guys ahead
of me were getting more opportunity than I was. There
was a certain amount of repetitions in practice. The starter
would get twenty, the backup would get ten, and I
would get two. And I'd go in and I'd say, well,
how can I ever get better? All these guys get
all the reps and I only get two. And he said,
just go in there and focus with the two that
(01:41):
you got and make them as perfect as you possibly can.
So I said, okay, that's what I did. They put
me in for those two. Man, I'd sprint in there
like it was Super Bowl forty nine. Let's go, boys,
here we go. What play we got? And I did
really well with those two because I brought enthusiasm, I
brought some energy, and I had a little more common
into myself. And it went from two reps to get
(02:03):
in four reps because those two were pretty good. Then
I had four good reps. Then I got ten good reps.
And before you do it, through this new attitude, through
this new shit, focused on what you can control, focus
on what you're getting not what anyone else is getting.
Whenever you get an opportunity, you take advantage. If you
treat it like it's the super Bowl, you treat it
like it's game day. Go out there and treat practice
(02:24):
like no one else does.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Guys, what do you think? That was future Hall of
Famer Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady? Tom Brady, But what
do you think? What do you think what he said there?
First of all, you have to make good. You have
to take advantage. You have to make sure you're prepared
when opportunity comes knocking. And it might only be for
(02:55):
a small window. You might not have a big opportunity,
you might not have a big chance, but when that
opportunity arises, you better be ready. I've told the story before.
I have a wrestling friend of mine. He was in
front of a large promoter and I had told him
time and time again, dude, you got to have a
highlight reel. You got to have clips to show people that.
(03:17):
When people come to see your work, you can point
them in that direction, or you can show him immediately, Hey,
this is what I can do. And he always put
it off. He always put it off. So when that
promoter came knocking, he wasn't ready, and guess what, he
didn't make good on the opportunity he was given. You
have to be ready when opportunity shows itself. You don't
(03:40):
know when that's going to be. I just got done
shooting a movie and I can't even tell you what
program it's for. It's for a fairly large network, and yeah,
I'm only a background actor. But every time, even if
the camera wasn't pointed at me, I knew there was
someone watching me. So I gave one hundred percent of
(04:01):
everything I had just for the chance, for the chance
they have the camera on me. And guess what later
in the production dates, that camera found me. That camera
was pointed at me because they saw that I was
doing my job, that I was doing my craft and
(04:22):
becoming busy and doing something interesting without taking over the scene.
I made good at the opportunity given I found myself
on a movie set. Every time, even if the camera
wasn't pointed at me, I made sure I was busy
because even though the camera wasn't looking at me, directors
were assistant directors were production people were other actors were.
(04:46):
You have to be ready. You don't know when that is.
You don't know when that time comes, and you can
only control you. You can only control your energy, focus,
your determination, your grit, your talent. You can only control you.
You can't worry about the person in front of you
(05:07):
or the person behind you. You can't control them. You
can control you. So every time opportunity comes knocking, make
sure you're ready. And when it comes knocking, give one
hundred and ten percent and don't worry about the guy
in front of you or the girl behind you. Don't
worry about that. Give one hundred and ten percent of
(05:28):
what you can and make sure when opportunity comes you're ready.
You're ready, guys, thanks so much for joining me again
this week. I'm the Beard of Marathon and this motivation
you dodd. Y'all real soon
