Speaker 1 (00:10):
Hey, guys time to time and tell me time and
time and time again. It's not my motivation. You motivation
you Hi, how you doing? How you been? It is me.
It is how you're a beardy marathon or at this?
By god my gosh, this motivation you Hi? How you doing? Hi?
A bit, I found this cool audio clip. Oh my gosh,
it's so down good. It is so darn good. I
heard and I thought of you. I heard it and
I thought immediately of you guys. I'm just gonna hit play.
(00:34):
I'm gonna hit play and we can talk about on
the other side. But uh, here we go. It's from
the mister Ballin' podcast. Mister m R Ballin b A
L L e N. He's got a podcast, He's got
a YouTube channel. Go and check it out, But first
listen to this audio clip I grabbed. It's so damn good.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Bill Smith, the actor, has this great thing he does.
He goes on Oprah I think it was or some
talk show and he talks about his experience skydiving. Impromptu
monologue he gives, but he basically is like, you know,
my buddies with were going to skottabbing tomorrow and it was.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Like Oh yeah, that'd be so crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
He will go Scott having tomorrow, but he's like, we're
not going to really do that. And then it's like
the next morning we get up and he's like, yeah,
let's we got breakfast. Guys like no, no, we're gonna go.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Skydiving, like let's go, let's go skydab.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It and he's like, wait, we're really doing that and
they're like yeah, and he's like, oh my god, I
don't want to go skydiving. I thought we were just
like saying it last night. And he winds up, you know,
going with his buddies to the actual airfield and they're
like signing the paperwork and he's like, guys, are we
really doing this? I don't want to do this, Like
come on, it's not so bad. And so before long
he's like in the plane up in the air attached
to the instructor. They opened the door up and like
(01:40):
all right, it's your turn, and he's like I'm sitting
on the edge and I'm having like this full blown crisis,
like I don't want to jump. I'm terrified of jumping,
and the instructor is like all right, will We're gonna
go on three one jumps really and he was like,
the second I left the plane, the fear was gone. Yeah,
and it was just this exhilarating experience of soaring through
(02:02):
the air, of skydiving, and he was like when I landed,
He's like, I suddenly understood that There's always been this
aspect in my life that I've sort of seen in
other ways in my life. But it's the best things
in life, This is will Smith, not me. Best things
in life are on the other side of fear, and
so what I've taken that, as you know, like becoming
an avcal for example, when I decided to do it,
(02:23):
there's a huge amount of fear, and not so much
fear of failure. It's fear of not stacking up like
when I got there, like you, so intimidated by the
people around me. But I knew if I could just
like not let the fear overwhelm me, that the reward
on the back end would be so high. I just
did a live for with fifteen shows. I actually am
terrified of public speaking. I've had instances in my life
(02:43):
where I have frozen up publicly giving a speech and
literally had to put the microphone down and leave. I've
had that experience, and I'm volunteering to do a tour
with thousands of people. The way I look at it
is like the things that you don't want to do,
you'll be indifferent. To the things that you do want
to do, you'll typically have as if it's a big
enough thing, the best things in life, so to speak,
(03:05):
you will have some element of a fear response to it. Now,
of course, if you're scared to go down in the
basement because you hear an intruder breaking in, listen to yourself,
don't go down in the basement. When it comes to
like goal setting, everybody has some thing that they just
really want to do, even if they don't admit to it.
Deep down they know fear is the thing keeping them
from doing. It's fear of embarrassment, it's fear of failure.
(03:26):
It's a fear of all the things that make us human.
It's the very select number of people in this life
are still able to say, I'm going to still do
that thing that's hears theet of me at the best
and most fulfilling lives. Not always, but they often do.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Goshdag, which day That was from the Mister Ballin podcast
he's got a podcast and he's got a YouTube show.
I recommend both, follow them both, follow them both, highly
recommend it. Great contact content rather and go go check
them out. Go check them out. But what'd you think
of the story? What's you think of this? The Will
Smith jump? The Will Smith jump? You know what all
(04:06):
successful people have in common. They've all been in that
position and they've all made the jump. They've all done it.
I've been there too. I have been on the plane.
I have been trying to talk myself out of making
the jump up until the moment that I've jumped, I've
(04:26):
tried to talk myself out of it. I remember my
first marathon, the morning of the marathon, driving myself to
the starting gates, driving myself downtown that first morning at
the first marathon, five o'clock in the morning. There I
am talking myself out. I don't want to do this.
I don't want to do this. I don't want to
do this. I'm not ready. I'm not ready, even though
(04:47):
for four months I did the work and I did
the training, all of it, all of it been all
over social media talking about it, and I was trying
to talk myself out of it because I still had
that nagging voice of oh my god, what if I fail,
what if I fall, what if I'm not enough? But
you know what every single successful person has in common.
(05:11):
They've all made that jump. Scary as it was, they've
all done it. We've all been there, guys. Whatever the
obstacle is, whatever the challenge is, whatever that thing is
that you're trying to do, we've all been there. If
you want to be successful, you have to overcome that fear.
(05:37):
Don't let fear determine whether you're going to be successful
and be something more. Jump. It is so much worth it.
On the other side, it's okay. Jump and if you fail,
if perchance you fail, make sure you learn from it
and jump again. Do not let fear dictate yourself success.
(06:00):
Do not let fear dictate your future. Don't let it. Guys.
I'm the beard of marathoner. This has been motivation you
John dyall real soon
