George Russell heeft tot verrassing van Mercedes de Grand Prix van Singapore gewonnen. De Mercedes-auto gaat normaliter goed in koude omstandigheden, maar in de hitte van het Marina Bay Street Circuit bleek Russell ook rap genoeg voor winst. Het is in zijn optiek revanche voor de crash van twee jaar geleden, waarbij hij benadrukt inmiddels een andere coureur te zijn. Max Verstappen koos voor een start op softs, maar dat luidde een 'managementrace' in. Hij concludeerde na afloop dat het team nog wel 'even goed moet kijken' naar enkele details, maar is samen met Red Bull Racing in essentie geslaagd voor de high-downforce test. Laurent Mekies bevestigde nadien min of meer wat Verstappen zaterdag al zei - dat de potentie al langer in de RB21 zat - al verwoordde de Red Bull-teambaas het op bijzonder slimme wijze. Ronald Vording bespreekt het uitgebreid in een nieuwe aflevering van de F1-update vanuit Singapore. Daarin natuurlijk ook aandacht voor McLaren, dat de constructeurstitel heeft gepakt, maar waar na afloop veel aandacht uitging naar de frustratie van Oscar Piastri over het moment met Lando Norris. Tot slot komen de povere race van Ferrari en het goede optreden van Fernando Alonso aan bod.
