So today I'm here in al Maria capital with my
friend Alejandro Sevador from seven Door Tax Illegal and as
some of you know, he's also the honorary British Consulate
for al Maria. So hi Alejandro, beautiful day at last.

Yeah, So Alejandro, quick question about this one hundred percent
tax that everybody seems to be so worried about. I
personally don't think it's going to happen. If it does,
it's going to be a long way off. Pedro Sanchez
is pushing a little bit. What are your views on that?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Well, we were all sorts of praised when when we
have Dad. Yeah, he was talking about new measures to
how to reduce the prices of the property. The main
problem that they want to to attack is the prices
of the property for young people. And he took this measures,

especially that one that says that they were going to
increase one hundred percent in the tax that someone that
is non resident will have to pay. And we were
all surprised. But when you read details of what they
have issued, which is nothing now, you can see that
it's very difficult to apply anything like that. Apparently because

again it's not explained correctly in them. You know, it
was just a.

They say that they were going to increase the tax
on the property when someone that is a foreigner, non
resident in Spain is buying. First, it is very difficult
to how do you know if someone is going to
be a non resident in Spain or he's going to
be a resident because when you buy, you could buy

(02:09):
to be resident, but you are not resident when you buy,
you know what I mean. So first, it's very difficult. Second,
what they say is that they were going to increase
the stamp duty. Some duties is a tax that you
pay when you buy, that is seven percent on the
price that you are paying. This tax is hold is

(02:29):
controlled by the regions, not by the government, not by
the national government, so increasing that must have the approval
of the regional politicians, which which is most of Spain,
is another party than the government. So if you ask me,

(02:52):
I think they are not going to do what they
said in that terms. Maybe they would do something else,
but not with a impact. If someone wants to buy properties,
I would not decide not to come to Spain because
of that. If there is an impact, it will very
very low.
