good afternoon and welcome to the Right Way with me,
David right here in a very windy ol Maria this afternoon,
blind absolute gail out of the day, warm and sunny,

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Okay, So thanks very much John Alex for keeping us
entertained this afternoon. Thank you John, and coming up on

We've got our financial expert Josh going to be giving
us some tips and answering your questions on the show.
So we've got any questions for the financial expert, you
can put them to him live in just a minute. Also,

(01:06):
it's Friday, so it's wine time Friday. That means Amy,

The comment section is open, so come say hi to
David right now.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
The afternoon show.

Speaker 6 (01:43):
You're listening to the Right Way with David Wright in
the afternoon on al Maria Radio one seven point five FM.
The comment section is open, so come say hi to
David right now.

Speaker 7 (01:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
So joining us in the common section this afternoon is Sylvia,
Hi Sylvia, how are you doing? Jacob cream Cracker, Hi,
Jacob their mate and cat dog and Robbie Hi, Hi John, Alex,
Carol in the UK?

Speaker 7 (02:12):
Whatsoever like there today?

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Carol is very very windy here and now we're here
today and Danny fs thanks for joining us in the
comments section. So yeah, there's a big music festa going
on in July and August this year up in Sitches.
That's upper just by Barcelona, i think, and the legendary
Beach Boy is one of my old time favorites playing
live up there in July and August, so yeah, I

(02:35):
might try and get a trip up there and see
how much the tickets are if it's not too expensive.
That's July and August, big music fiesta going on up
in a Barcelona area in Sitches, and the Beach Boys
are heading up that, so yeah, I'll try and get
a weekend up there and maybe go and check that out.
It would be great to see them live. Okay, time
for a bit of Harry Styles now. But Marvin Gay

(02:57):
there and heard it through the grapevine, right.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Help and advice. But living and working in Spain, you're
listening to the right way, the right way with David.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Right, it's Friday.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
It's Friday and Friday feeling getting you into the mood
for the weekend.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
There, it's Friday, so it's one time Friday. Got my
wine expert on the phone in a minute. But first
of all, we've got another live guest. We've got Josh Williams,
financial expert.

Speaker 7 (03:24):
Hi, Josh, can you hear me?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Can he well? David? Thanks having me on UK.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah, fighting apart from that wind, we've got a really
strong windy at the moment, mate. But yeah, there's some
important deadlines, Josh, I believe coming in for pensions and
that could affect the British people. So tell us a
little bit about that please.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah, there's a lot of people may have seen or heard.
It's become quite the subject in the UK and it
should be for overseas individuals as well. Anyone that's worked
or lived in the UK that's contributed to the UK
State Pension and wish to backdate any missing years, plug

(04:04):
any gaps in their national insurance history if they want
to contribute further.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Back than six years.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
There's a deadline to get your application in by the
fifth of April, just a couple of weeks to be
able to backdate more than six years. And we have
lots of clients you know, that come to me and
ask you rush, how to we boost our retirement and
this is a quite a quick and simple and relatively
cheap way to increase retirement income if people have worked

(04:36):
in the UK before. So it's definitely something to look
into for people living here in Spain or.

Speaker 8 (04:44):
In the UK.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
So when is this deadline, Josh.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
It's the fifth of April, fifth of April this year,
So in a couple of weeks. As long as the
individual that wishes to backdate gets their application into HMRC
all that date, then you're on sort of the system.
And even if it goes past the fifth of April,
they've acknowledged that, and then you can sort of follow

(05:08):
up with HMRC. They'll follow up and they'll ask for
any requirements and ask how that individual wishes to backdate,
whether it's a monthly or as a lump sum, to
be able to increase their retirement income.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Great, And as always, Josh, you give free consultations to
amware radio listeners.

Speaker 7 (05:26):
Is that quick? Correct? Yep?

Speaker 8 (05:27):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
So complimentary discovery call with individuals and listeners of your show, David,
and I'm sure you're mentioned in the moment about our
free webinar which which we're doing next Thursday, helping. We'll
give you some advice and some tips about not only
about sort of the state pension areas, but private pensions

(05:51):
investment options that are available to Brits liveing here in Spain.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Just so I'm going to talk talk to people about
that lit bit later on and put some links out.
But Josh and I are going to do a video
call and people could come along and join that video
call and they can join with video link or just
listening and ask questions live to Josh.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
All no obligation at all.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
This is a free wabing our people can't come and
join it and get some help from the expert. So
that's next week, that's next Thursday. I from the right,
Josh is that.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, next Thursday's eleven.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
A Yeah, okay, So I post a link to that
and in the comment section a little bit later on.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
But thanks very much for today, Josh.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
I know you're busy, got extra things on this afternoon,
So thanks very much for John us on the show today.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
No, thank you.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Again, David.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Have a great weekend and keep dry and warm and
hopefully this sun comes out anytime soon.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yeah, all the best, mate, Josh. You're listening to the
right way with me, David right here on a Maria
Radio one oh seven point five FM.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
What did you see this week?

Speaker 4 (06:56):
The gas bottles have gone up again in price, up
and down like a yo. But there's still a slight
increase in the gas bottle prices. Do you usually boutain
gas bottles? Seventeen sixty a bottle now for getting that refilled.
So they're scorne up quite a bit in the last
few weeks or so. This is the government's saying. This
is all due to the propane and bootane price increases.

(07:18):
So yeah, I've you noticed it's gone up a lot
in the last year at least, anyway, it's gone up
quite a bit. So seventeen sixty a bottle now for
the gas anyway, let's know what you think about that
in the comment section. I can remember, believe it or not,
when it was eleven euros.

Speaker 7 (07:31):
There's a long moping here.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Eleven euros. We used to pay for that and thought
that was expensive. But there you go. So everything's on
the increase here. Today I was in al Moria City,
had interviews with the Honorary British concert for Almarria, Alejandro
Salvador from several door tax and legal and some very
interesting tax information which we're doing a video with. I'm
going to be putting that out on my shows on

(07:53):
my sites a little bit later on, and Alejandra will
be joining me live in the studio next week. So
if you've got any question do you want to put
to the British consulor of Almia, then let me have
your questions either in the comments today or you can
email me them, or you can email them to the
studio and that is info at David Riot online dot com,

(08:15):
or you can go straight to the sorry to the
radio studio. That's David at Almira Radio dot live, David
at Almorea Radio dot live. That's questions for Alejandro who's
going to be live on the show next week. Okay,
that was Rita or there and you only love me now.
I'll always tell to people that you know, get good advice,

(08:36):
get top expert advice. And we've got loads of experts
here on Ameria Radio that can give you top expert advice.
And these are free consultations. To take me a lot
of years to get these experts, people that I know
and trust and that I use myself, and they give
my listeners here free information and help. So you know,
Josh was on the phone a little bit earlier on
he's from Ambient Wealth and it gives some great pensions

(08:59):
and financial advice and a free consultation. This is a
completely free consultation to listeners. I always say, you know,
time after time I'm sending people to get top expert advice.
You can't get better than getting somebody that's been recommended,
that you know, people know and use and trust. And
there's lots of experts that I can recommend to you
for all the things we need. When we're here in

(09:19):
Spain now and from the first of April, there are
some new social security changes to the retirement here in Spain.
This can affect a lot of people here now. At
the moment, the retirement age in Spain is fructuating a bit,
is sixty seven years of age. But if you've been
paying into there, if you've been paying into the system
for thirty eight years, and our options to retire early
as low as sixty three years now. Also, these new

(09:42):
changes coming out in the first of April means that
you can still draw your pension that retirement age, but
you can carry on working. This is called a partial
retirement here in Spain. This is a new thing starting
from the first of April, and if you're retired here
you can start working and still claim on your pension.
It won't affect your pench payments. So if you want
any information or help on that, remember over on the

(10:04):
experts page. We have all these people here that can
advise you on how this could affect you.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
We need to do us.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Go over to the an we're a radio website, click
on the dropdown menu there on my page. That's the
right way with me, David Wright, and click on the
expert help page or on the information page and get
in touch with these experts now and time after time
they will give.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
You the Afternoon Show. It's Friday, It's Friday, and Friday
feeling getting you into the mood for the weekend.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Live David Right, David Right, David David.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
David the Afternoon Show.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Yeah, so it's Friday, it's wine time Friday, and Amy
will be joining us in about ten minutes time, so
stay tuned for that. If you've got good wine recommendation,
put it in the comment section. Let's all have a
look at it, see what it's all about. Because most
people go out shopping at the weekend for a nice
botle of wine, and we've got some great bottles, but
we've been recommended over on their wine page. This is

(11:01):
from the wine expert, Amy Bingham from Madrid or Wine
Connor saw there and should be joining us live in
the show in a very short time.

Speaker 7 (11:10):
Okay, So I've got so many that works.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
At the airport here in al Maren, they're telling about
easy Jet and Ryan A got new flights coming into
alm MOREA from the UK and also Ryan are now
thinking about doing and thinking about they're starting it this
week actually Teesside to Malaga. Ryan starting flights from Teeside
to Malaga. So yeah, Spain is still high on the
list there for British people coming to Spain. Even with

(11:33):
all the things that are going on at the moment
up in Barcelona, they're not happy with the tourists up
there with the rental so that is going to cause
a little bit of a knock on effect for sure
with the rents up there no short term rentals being
renewed on properties up there, so maybe people come into
other places like al Maria with all these flights coming in.
I won't blame them, just hope we starts to get

(11:54):
a bit better. Weather is soon.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
The Afternoon Show Live, David Right, David Right, David.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
David David The Afternoon Show.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Okay, so it's quite a lot going on this weekend
and in Valerie Mohacker eight pm tonight that's a Neil
Diamond tribute band. And on Sunday Valerie Mohacker at four
point thirteen afternoon, we've got sky full.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
If you want to check out all the events.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Going on in the al Maria area and then go
over to Emria Radio website and check out the events
coming over. There's lots going on this weekend and hopefully
the weather's looking a bit better this weekend as well.
So maybe you won't get any rain this weekend. Get
out on that motorbike again. Well it's Friday, It's wine
time Friday, and we've got our wine expert from Madrid,

(12:42):
Amy Bingham.

Speaker 7 (12:43):
Hi, Amy, can you hear me? Hey David, how are
you great?

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Thanks?

Speaker 7 (12:46):
Amy?

Speaker 4 (12:47):
So Amy, come on with this all bad weather here
in Spain, we need some cheering up. So what wine
recommendation or tips can you give us today?

Speaker 8 (12:55):
You know, if there was ever a time to open
a ninth bottle of red wine, I think it's as
we go into week four of solid rain here in Spain.
So I wanted to talk a little bit about how
to choose a.

Speaker 7 (13:06):
Nice red wine.

Speaker 8 (13:07):
You're a red wine.

Speaker 7 (13:08):
Tin, is that right, David? My wife is?

Speaker 4 (13:10):
I prefer white myself, but I do like a little
bit of red wine then again, but not too much.
Gives me a bit of a head of ak. So
having a proper idea of what we're looking at would
be much helped.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
I mean, so go ahead, there we go.

Speaker 8 (13:24):
So one thing I always try and look for when
I'm choosing a red wine is first deciding if I
want it to be aged or young. So often here
in Spain you'll see it says cosecha, which means that
it's a young wine with no aging at all. But
if you see anything that says that grand cetva or
even koreanpha, that all means that it's had some time
aging in oak barrels. And the type of oak that

(13:48):
the wine is aged in will drastically change the flavor
of the wine. So if you like wines that are
a bit more soft and round, maybe with some vanilla
and coconut flavors, look for wines that are Asian American,
and it'll often say on the label if it has
American or French oak. If it's aged in French choak,
it's going to be a bit more tannic and spicy.

(14:08):
It's going to have more of those sort of spiced
flavors like nutmeg or cinnamon to it. So if you
like that type of wine, maybe look for French choak instead.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Ah, right, right, And I mean also on the back
some of the bottles there's organic symbols. Can you just
remind us about that again?

Speaker 8 (14:26):
Absolutely, I always look for the organic label on a
wine because it does help drastically with producing those headaches.
And the organic label is a leaf made of stars.
It can be in green, or it can be in
white or black, but you always want to look through
that little leaf made of stars, which is the EU
organic label. Pretty hard to get it takes wineries at

(14:48):
least four years to get that label, but definitely worth
it and one of the one of the things I
look out.

Speaker 7 (14:54):
For most on a wine label.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Yeah, some that you told us about ages ago here
and when I may not like the Carver, and you know,
I've been drinking the Murker Donna Carver, which is okay
for a long time. But you know, if you do
a guy over the top a little bit, I'll have
a few two minutes the next day. Do you have
a bit of a stinking headache? But when I've gone
with the organic ones that you suggested, no headache at all.
So that's great, no headache and you can drink more.

Speaker 7 (15:17):
There you go more you need well, brilliant.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Thanks very much for that, Amy, And if Brinny wants
to find out more about Amy's tours as well in Madrid,
I'll leave a link in the description box now and
you can go and check out her tools. Thanks very
much for joining us, Amy, and have a great weekend.

Speaker 8 (15:33):
Great to talk to you. Hope the sun comes out
for you.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
All the best, Amy, speak to you later. Cheers, don't worry,
be happy. Bobby mcfarron there, and yeah, thanks to Amy,
our wine expert from Madrid for the tips today. And
remember that walk and Eat Spain dot Com link in
the description box that Amy does tours in Madrid. Some

(15:55):
great tools there, Wine and tapus tours and there's a
little bit of discount as well for Briti people that
go over from al Maria radio site, so check it out.
It's in the description box.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Now, stay tuned in for more the afternoon show.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Okay, so, still these roadworks going on in al Morea
on the main roads are coming in and out of
al Morea, so if you're heading this way over the weekend,
be sure that there's lots of congestion there, especially around
the Aguadorphi area and turn off to al Maria. Maine
City's making the road a bit wider there, I think
the motorway.

Speaker 7 (16:31):
So al Morio has.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Got fifteen million euros to make the improvements on the
roads and they're spending the money like water here at
the moment. So yeah, there's so big careful of those
roadworks coming in and out of al Maria this weekend.
Also the rail train new links, this is going ahead
and going really well as well. The railway station in
Almore is closed, won't be open, no trains in or

(16:55):
out of al Maria for another year, so this is
hoping to the new rail link will be finished by
twenty twenty six. This is a high speed rail links
from al Maria all the way up to Tarragona and
Valencia area. This is new high speed rail links. Probably
you've seen on the side of the motorways there these
train links and there all these roadworks that's going on

(17:18):
with this new rail system. And I saw some videos
the other day and some artist drawings double decker trains,
some of them got shops on and things like that.
So looking really good for al Maria. Also the prices
are looking good as well. So that's no rail in
or out of Almria for another years until twenty twenty six.
So hopefully when that's up I'm ready. It should be

(17:39):
a fantastic system to tryout, so be aware of that.
And also the bus station Almorria where the train station is,
that's got some major refurb works going on at that
moment as well, so be aware of that. Well that's
it for another show, run out of time yet again.
Up next to five o'clock Hit Mix with Rob Max's
Day Tuned that. Thanks very much everybody as always for

(18:00):
join me in the coment session and have a great weekend.
