(00:26):
now you're listening to the Murder isMy Sign podcast, the only true crime
astrology podcast, and I'm your hostand Jordi Death here to let your way
through the true crime astrology storm andback in the studio again with me is

(00:48):
Killer Kyle. That's a nickname I'vegiven you, unless you have a different
nickname. No that works. FromStar. I was going to STI like
star killer or killer Star, butI'm pretty sure that's a brand of like
goth clothing or something. So Starkiller, star killer or kill Star, Killstar.
That was that was the that's thename kill Starkalio. Um, yeah,

(01:11):
any of who h So, Ihope you guys like the last episode
where we did that we did together. I know it went long, um
and I know the audio was absolutegarbage. But now that I figured out
how to actually fix it in audacityor I should say having the presets,
because the mic was actually down onzero when we were recording m audacity and

(01:34):
then now I actually have a boommic for my blue Yetti. So you
and I can actually get closer withouta tape between us anywhow Um. So,
in the last episode, just torecap for not only for us,
but then also for the listeners,Um, we started talking about the deadly

(01:56):
duo, the Hillside Stranglers Kenneth Bianchiand Angelo Bueno, cousins who decided to
become pimps and they were made foolsof by some women in LA in the
late seventies. So like we're talkingabout nineteen seventy seven here. Um.
We left off in the last episodewith the two schmucks having bought a fake

(02:19):
list of John's that were interested inhaving prostitutes come to them, or so
they thought, because in reality, this list, I guess the Johns wanted
to go to where Angelo shop slashhouse was to have sex with the prostitutes.
Um. And I don't really seethe issue with that, and like
the and why the list was reallyfake. But this really pissed off the

(02:44):
guys and they decided to uh goafter the prostitute who had sold the list
to them. Now, this wasback in nineteen seventy seven. Wouldn't have
taken a lot of anything to getthem to start hurting people. Yeah,
No, I mean it was morelike an excuse than any Yeah. I

(03:05):
guess logistically it would make sense ifyou're looking for you know, we want
to send people to you, Butthe real list is, oh can we
come to you? That I couldsee why that would like, I mean,
it's kind of fuck up your pimpgame maybe, But then again,
it's like, how closely does theline of being a pimp and being a
murderer, Like how I feel likethose two lines could probably be pretty close

(03:29):
together because like in today's episode,we're gonna be talking about all the most
of the women that they've killed, and they actually end up bringing them back
to the house. So it's justlike, seriously, what was it that
just I think you're right. Ithink they just were looking for an excuse
to start killing people. So thislist had one hundred and seventy five names

(03:49):
on it, and it was adollar a name. And this was back
in nineteen seventy seven, so it'sone hundred and seventy five dollars now in
today's money with inflation, that wouldbe seven hundred and forty four dollars ninety
seven cents, which that's a bigchunk of change. That's like my rent
and car payment. So I mean, I could I could see if you

(04:10):
spent close to damn your eight hundreddollars on the list and find out that
it was fake or eight hundred dollarson anything, you know, you would
be pissed. Yeah, yeah,I could see that. So, you
know, I retract my previous statementthough I've never I've never wasted eight hundred
dollars on something and been like I'mgonna fucking kill somebody, So I retract
my previous ignors same. I've neverreally wasted that much money because usually if

(04:36):
I'm going to be spending that muchmoney on something, I've been to make
sure I'm doing like a lot ofresearch. So anywhoy. So the prostitute
that had sold them this quote unquotefake list um wisely skipped out of town,
just like the two women whom hadthey had previously abducted and forced into
working with them. So, youknow, the two cousins were really just

(04:58):
kind of pissed off, and literallyI think this was just the catalyst that
got them into wanting to kill someone, because they ended up going after the
friend of the prostitute that had soldthem the fake list Yolanda Washington, and
so on October seventeenth, nineteen seventyseven, Angelo and Ken were driving around

(05:19):
looking for Yolanda and they found herwork in the corner on Sunset. So
Ken guyla car Angelo was driving andhe went to go pick up Yolanda,
and then so Yolanda and Angelo endup having sex in the car, and
once they were done, Angelo droveback around to pick up Ken, and
then Angelo whipped out his police badgeand told her that they were taking her

(05:43):
in. So like remember in thelast episode, Angelo had gotten enough fake
well I should say it was real. It was illegal, but it was
an LAPD police shield, and sothat was kind of like their emma like
how they got you know, thegirls to like work with them by convincing
them that they were undercover cops.So Yolanda started screaming while this was happening,

(06:08):
and Angelo pulled over onto the HollywoodFreeway. So they're driving and then
Ken's already in the backseat and bringsout the handcuffs and handcuffs her. And
then once she was handcuffed, shestarted to kind of quiet down a little

(06:29):
bit. But then Angelo starts drivingagain, and this is where ken strips
and rapes her and begins to strangleher from behind, which this is the
first time that Ken's trying to stranglesomeone, and he realizes that it's it's
pretty difficult to kill someone with yourbare hands. There's a lot that goes

(06:50):
into it, I guess. Sohe struggles to choke Yolanda and she begins
to kick and twist around, andthen Angelo um ends up giving ken a
rag as he's continuing to drive onthe freeway, and Kenya uses this as
a um what do you call agarrott, Yeah, a grot um,

(07:13):
and Uh uses it to like strangleher, and she ends up fighting for
her life, obviously, and itends up actually even kicking Angelo as he's
driving, Like I'm just trying toimagine, you know, you're driving this
big ass Cadillac and the seventies andyou're down the freeway and you're you're I
don't know what traffic's like, butI've heard that traffic in la is pretty
crazy. I'm sure still back inthe seventies it was, and I don't

(07:35):
remember when the gas crisis was,but maybe there were less cards on the
road. Oh maybe that's that's avery valid point. Like, I feel
like that happened in the seventies, whether that was it was definitely in the
seventies. Yeah, we should lookthat up. But before we get sidetracked.
Um. So Ken then proceeds tothrottle the life out of Yolanda and

(07:59):
steals her pretty torqu torquoise ring.Um after the deed was done, and
ends up giving it to his pregnantgirlfriend, Kelly. Um. I didn't
know this at the time, Um, nineteen seventy three. Okay, so
this was after the gas crisis. But still, you know, I think
that's a very valid point. Um. I did not know that throttle and

(08:20):
throttling meant strangulation. I had tolook that up because because they used that
term in one of the books Iwas girlfriendcing, and I'm like, I
always thought throttled meant like like hittingor whipping. Oh really, So I
learned something the more you know.So to continue on with this picture,

(08:43):
um, Angelo is still driving Ken'sin the backseat with Yolana having just killed
her, stole her ring, It'sgonna give it to his pregnant girlfriend Kelly,
and then um, when they finallyreached the force Lawn Drive exit,
which heads out to uh Hollywood's famousHillside Cemetery. They pull over by the
entrance and then dump Yolanda Washington's nakedbody out of the car where she will

(09:07):
be found later. And this iskind of like their amount. And so
this is where the very thin barrierbetween their statistic sex life and their tendencies
and murder was shattered. And Ikeep hitting the boom mic and I'm really
sorry. I'm sure that's picking upbecause I talk a lot with my hands.

(09:28):
And so now the killer cousins haveshattered this thin barrier between being statistic
sex fiends and have now become murderers. And now this is where the deadly
duo come to become the Hillside Stranglers, if you will, okay. So

(09:50):
two weeks later, on Halloween,Ken brought up the idea to Angelo to
get another horror, but Angelo originallyobjected. He said that the incident with
Yolanda had been rushed and resulted insloppy work, and he wanted to find
a place where they could do thedeed correctly, which I guess is there

(10:11):
a correct way to kill someone?I don't know. Maybe that's what lethal
injection is or capital punishment, thecorrect way of killing someone. Um,
But basically he said this was waytoo sloppy. This was like a ship
show, and we need to bebetter and more methodical about our next victim.
So Ken thought of the purpose. He didn't. He didn't he didn't

(10:33):
want to not want to do itbecause it was a terrible idea that he
didn't want to do it. Becausethey're like, we were just terrible last
time, and we're gonna do it. We gotta plan it out. Basically
that was kind of the vibe. They went from zero to sixty pretty much
like instant. Basically, yeah,no, no, Remember, Angelo was
like the Italian stallin a stallion. He was like the stereotypical Italian guy wanted

(10:56):
to be a gangster. Was prettymuch a skis bag right from the beginning.
Oh you know, I forgot thatpart, yes, And he's probably
like the idea of oh yeah Ican yeah, all right, right right,
So, like killing someone really didn'tphaze him. And Kenneth was adopted
and Um, from a very youngage was basically a sociopath, and so

(11:18):
this didn't really phase him at all. It just seemed like the next inevitable
step in their evolution of being justterrible people. So Ken thought of the
perfect place to do the deeds thatthey wanted to do, which would be
Angelo's house. Because remember, Angelo'shouse was right behind his shop and he
had a trim shop for for cars, so the neighborhood was mostly deserted at

(11:41):
night and no one could see muchof anything because of the metal awning that
was between the house and the shop, and so the two men could come
and go as they pleased with anybody, and Angelo agreed that this was probably
a really good idea, and especiallywith the possibilities that this particular location provided.

(12:01):
So the two went down to SunstripBoulevard, I Believe, and found
their next victim standing by Carney's Express, a limited diner, And just like
last time, Ken had gotten outand waited across the street, this time
holding the LAPD police badge and handcuffs. And Angelo was driving and he pulled

(12:22):
into the driveway and the young fifteenyear old La Runaway walked up to the
drivers side window, where Angelo smoothtalked his way into getting the girl into
the car. So young Judy Millerwalks around and gets in besides Angelo,
and then he drives off slowly makinga U turn and slowing down beside where

(12:43):
Ken was standing. Ken then ripsopen the car door and flashes the police
badge, telling Judy Miller because shewas under arrest. He quickly handcuffs the
girl and Angelo drives off to theirhouse on Colorado Street, tell the young
girl that they were taking her toa satellite police station. But as soon
as they walked in and she sawthat there was an aquarium, she knew

(13:07):
that it was a lie and thatshe was in big trouble, just not
with the law. Aquariums to pinpeople off. I don't know many police
stations that have aquariums, but thenagain, I haven't really been to many
aquarium or police stations. So sothe men proceeded to blindfold and gag Judy

(13:31):
Miller, and then they stripped herdown and threw her onto the bed in
the spare bedroom. They then flippeda coin to see who would go first.
Angelo won and proceeded to rape Judywhile Ken went through her purse and
longings. Angela wanted a photo ofhimself in action, and so Ken snapped
a polaroid and then the two switchedand Ken had his go at the girl

(13:56):
before the men killed Judy, theyhad quote good sense to dress her or
at least put her pants back on, because Angelo, the ever forward thinking
man, realized that when you die, or when you kill someone, you
will shit your breeches, which istrue. When you die, your sphincter
and all the muscles relaxed, sowhatever you have in your bottles will be

(14:18):
released. So this time the mentied up the girl's legs with a nylon
cord and then proceeded to place aplastic grocery bag over her head, and
they also tied that with a nyloncord that Angelo ended up tightening behind her,
and then Ken sat on her legsand Judy was thrashing so violently that

(14:41):
she actually threw Angelo off of her, which just pissed him off even more,
and then he strangled her with thecord until the puffing of the bag
ceased and fifteen year old Judie Millerwas dead. Once she was dead,
the two proceeded to undress to heragain, placing her clothing in a trash
bag along with the nylon cord shewas along with the nylon cord, blindfold

(15:07):
gag, and the plastic bag thatthey used to suffocate her. Angelo tossed
this onto the trash dumpster behind theshop, and then the two carried the
girls naked dead body out to theCadillac and loaded her into the trunk.
And I guess Cadillacs back in theseventies had a very spacious trunk. Oh
they were massive, Yeah, Iactually they were massive. They looked like

(15:30):
boats, kind of boats on wheels. Yeah. Now with um my phone
off with cars in the seventies,I keep forgetting this, but they had
I don't know what you'd call it, um like bench seats. I guess
in the front, because I alwayswould get confused, like when the girl
would slide in next to Angelo andthen kind would slide in next to her,

(15:52):
because I'm like, I'm thinking thatthey have just bucket seats. But
I guess no, that was prettycommon up until like the eight even in
the or some cars if I remember, even some cars in the nineties,
like my first car, head benchseats. That's so weird, so weird
to think about. Huh. Iwonder why they I wonder why that's switch
because you really don't see bench seatsanymore at all. I wonder if it's

(16:14):
like a safety thing, or maybeit's more stylized. I haven't really thought
about it. I've only thought aboutit just now in the second. So,
once she was dad, they threwaway all the stuff that would incriminate
him, incriminate the two, andthen they stuffed her naked dead body into

(16:37):
the trunk and Angela did the drivein again. And this is where they
headed to the hills and they jumpeddumped Judy's body on alta terrorist drive along
a flowerbed near the curb. Now, because Judy Miller was the second person
killed, her death didn't really registermuch in the media, and neither did

(17:00):
at of Yolanda Washington's death, whichbolstered the confidence within Ken and Angelo,
thinking that they can continue to murderprostitutes and get away with it. Wasn't
long before the two decide to gofor another victim, this time twenty one
year old waitress Lisa Caston, whowas driving home after her shift when she

(17:22):
parked her car in front of herapartment building. This time, Ken was
driving and pulled up behind Lisa's car. He had his own badge, except
this time it was a California HighwayPatrol Star and not the LAPD shield and
Angela was like, how are yougoing to show this to someone? They're
going to know immediately that it's notan LAPD. But then Ken was like,

(17:44):
pretty confident, thinking that most womenwould not know the difference between basically
the chip star and the LAPPD shield. And unfortunately, in this case for
Lisa, he was right because thecon worked like a dream. And so
Ken goes up to her and statesthat there had been a robbery and that
witnesses had reported her car being involved, which, of course Lisa argued that

(18:10):
it was impossible because she had justbeen at work, but she nonetheless got
into the back of the Cadillac andheaded to headquarters for questioning, or so
she thought, And as soon asthose handcuffs hit her wrists, Lisa Caston
was a dead woman. Maybe notin the literal physical sense yet, but
basically that was her sealed death wish. The Killer cousins didn't waste much time

(18:36):
in killing Lisa. They just madesure that she died very slowly, again,
using a chord around her throat, they would choke her to the point
of death, her face turning blueand gray, and then they would release
the literature where Lisa would gasp andcough, and they did this over and
over again until finally Ken asked toswitch places with Angelo, and it was

(19:00):
Ken who finally ended Lisa's suffering bykilling her. The new tactic of prolonging
their victims death really got the twokillers off and became part of their m
O. They threw away all ofLisa's belongings and then placed her body into
the trunk of the car and thendrove to Glendale, where they found a
spot overlooking the Ritzy Chevy Chase countryClub on East Chevy Chase Drive I'm sorry,

(19:26):
East Chevy Chase Place. They threwLisa's body out onto the hill and
watched as she tumbled down this steepembankment into the drainage ditch by the country
club fence. And this all happenedon November sixth, nineteen seventy seven.
So basically, yeah, after theHalloween killing two weeks. They don't take

(19:52):
much time in between the dusts.I think it's the longest they take is
about a week typically, at leastfrom what I've read over the years,
Zudo killers. Once they start likethere can be years or even like longer
sometimes and then they kind of hita point where they just more and more
of Yeah. Yeah. I thinkonce their confidence is bolstered and they're feeling

(20:12):
pretty comfortable with their doing with whatthey're doing, then they will just continue
to go until basically they caught ordie. Yea, which would basically be
them getting caught. But I meanmaybe for an unrelated thing. Oh sure,

(20:33):
sure, okay, yeah, likea prison for three years for carth
after or something instead of got it, Yeah, the actual burders, that
makes sense. Um. After theykilled Lisa, the men talked about the
murder and critiqued their techniques. Theywanted to be more selective for the next
victim and not just jump on thefirst woman that they came upon. So

(20:55):
on November ninth, the two wentcruising again and Ken wanted to find a
hot UCLA cheerleader, but Angela wantedto stay closer to home, so they
went over to Hollywood near Tamarind Avenue, near the apartment where Ken lived,
and it was getting late. Itwas around eleven o'clock at night when they
spotted Jane King standing near the busstop on Franklin and Bronston Streets. As

(21:19):
they drove by, they could seethat Jane was a beautiful woman. They
circled around again, and this timeKen got out and ampled up to the
young beautiful woman who was wearing tightjeans and silver spiked heals. Ken engaged
Jane into a conversation where she mentionedthat she was an inspiring actress and a
believer in scientology, and she hadjust actually come from a drama worksop shop

(21:42):
in the nearby scientology school. Soinstead of getting killed by church members,
she got killed by them. Theyhaven't killed anyone that we know of.
Well, that's because they can't findany of them, that's true. I
just thought it was interesting that shewanted to be an actress and then she

(22:02):
was also a scientologist, because Iknow Tom Cruise is a scientologist, and
I think a lot of actors are. So I feel like, if you
want to be an actor, justbecome a scientologist or don't. Jane,
please don't. If you're an inspiringactor, please don't become a scientologist.
So can feigned interest yea, AndI honestly think that even for him,

(22:32):
the whole scientology bit was almost enoughto turn him off. But then Angelo
drove up and Ken said, Hey, this is my cousin. Maybe he
could give us a ride. Thatway, we won't have to wait for
the bus. And she's like,oh my god, yes, i'd be
great. So this time they showedher, showed them their badges, and
instead of saying that she was underarrest, Jane was actually glad because it
made her apprehension go away, assumingthat she could trust the two men who

(22:53):
were officers. I don't want tospeak ill of the dead. Yep,
this I'm wondering about how smart thislady was. You're like, you're at
night right, Yes, you justcame from a scientology. Yeah whatever,
you know, no judgment there. You want to believe, you're crazy ass
belief, no ball. But thenyou're sitting here and some guy walks up

(23:17):
and starts talking to you, andyou're waiting for the bus, and then
his cousin rolls up in the carlike, oh hey, what's up because
and you both happen to be policeofficers. Yeah, it's La in the
seventies man, crazy time. Imean like, just that's I mean,
obviously it's hindsight is twenty twenty right, right, Yeah, that's why I

(23:38):
don't want to speak ill of thedead. But in my head it's like,
yeah, that doesn't sound right.Well, no, Also, I
think something to keep in mind, like even if they weren't police officers,
or even if they didn't come offfrom that, you gotta remember like in
the seventies, hitchhiking was a hugething and getting picked up wasn't. Absolutely
I'm not discounting that at all,all right, but yeah, you're you're

(23:59):
very right. I think into datelike our in our world and how we
view things like obviously that'd be it'sbecause of instances like this that we view
that as being absolutely fucking stupid.Yeah, But at the same time,
why is this cop that doesn't havea car just walking down the street,
you know what I mean, likein the middle of the night, like
you mil the knight. He's noton duty. He's just and just walking
down the street chatting up ladies thatplay stops, Yeah, playing playing clothes

(24:22):
cop. But and this doesn't abig, big note. People just assume
nothing and trust no one. Weactually had that sign at the funeral home
I used to work at in theback room we had as a sign and
like one of the cupboards, andI just I always thought that was such
a great saying. And I justI remember it a lot. Just assume
nothing, trust no one, umbecause either way, I feel really bad

(24:45):
for I know, it's like itsounds like nothing, no plans, we're
gonna work out any right, Yeah. Yeah, And and and it's really
just tragic too, because she wassuch a gorgeous woman and they actually have
her photo and one of the booksI used, She's just a beautiful woman.
And because she was so beautiful,Angelo and Ken took their time raping

(25:07):
her and then they murdered her inthe same fashion that they did with Lisa
cast In, using the literature thatthey would tighten and then loosen and tighten
again until finally kind of finish heroff while also finishing off inside her,
which I think was maybe a firstfor him, actually fornicating with her as

(25:29):
he was killing her, which Idon't know if that puts you in the
realm of being a necrophiliac, ifyou fuck someone while you killed them,
I don't know how that falls. And that grims. I mean, it
doesn't really matter. I'm just kindof morbidly curious. Technically still alive.
Yeah, I think it's like she'sdead and continue to still do it though
I think at that point that youcan become a necro I don't know.

(25:55):
Um, go back and listen tomy eddgin. I think I talked more
about necrophilia and that than pale line, because you can you can have an
obsession with the dead. You don'tnecessarily have to fornicate with them, but
you could have a desire to bewith the dead, and that can technically
make your necrophiliac. So any thoughtabout it that much, Well, it's

(26:18):
not a thought that crosses my mind. Very happy. Well, I'm sure
it's gonna cross your mind a littlebit more now that I've brought it up.
Um. So, after they killedher, the guys were going through
her purse and stuff, and thenthey found her id and they saw that
she was actually twenty eight, whichsurprised them. She was born in nineteen
forty nine, making her two yearsolder than Ken, to which Ken mentioned

(26:44):
that, um, she was quoteremarkably well preserved for being twenty eight,
which, okay, I'm twenty nine, so what the fuck? Angelo added
that they had actually done her faceby killing her while she was still beautiful,
so you know, I guess anythingto justify your actions. They loaded

(27:07):
her up into the trunk of thecatillactress as they did time before, and
drove off to the Loss Los Filasoff ramp of the Golden State Freeway and
then threw her naked body down intothe bushes where she would not be found
for two weeks. And I cantell you, when you're not found for
two weeks, you're not gonna bepretty. It's gonna be more of a

(27:30):
clothes cathoct type thing, honestly, and especially out in the well. Granted,
this was November in California, soit probably wasn't nearly as hot as
as California usually is. But thenext two victims that fell to the hillside
tranglers were significantly younger than Jane kinKing. Dolores Sepida Sipda Cipeda Sepia So

(28:00):
Dolores Septa was twelve and Sonja Johnsonwas fourteen, and these two girls were
spotted by the Killer cousins getting ontoa bus in the East Rock part of
La on Sunday, November thirteenth.Ken was driving Kelly's station wagon and followed
after the bus to where the girlsgot off on York Boulevard, where they

(28:22):
practically fainted when Ken accosted them, showing his fake badge. I guess the
two girls were shoplifters and they hadstolen about one hundred dollars worth of costume
jewelry from a boutique at the EagleRock Plaza. So, I mean,
you can see when the girls werevery nervous around Ken pose as a police

(28:44):
officer. But Kenna dan Angelo werenot after them for the stolen jewelry.
Instead, they told the girls thata dangerous burglar was on the loose nearby,
and they actually offered them a ridehome, to which the two girls
were relieved, and they got intothe station way again. Which again,
why aren't you questioning why this isn'ta police car? You know what I
mean? Well, I mean, but twenty eight year old woman versus twelve

(29:10):
year old girl. Yeah, Iguess in the nineties or nineties and seventies,
I'm just like, did they reallyhave undercover cars? I'm sure they
did, I don't know, there'sno reason to Yeah, um, so
I would, honestly, I wouldn'tbe surprised if they didn't, especially for

(29:30):
such a large metropolitan area like LosAngeles. That's a very valid point.
Yeah, So the guys ended updriving them back to Angelo's place, which
was the Satellite police station, andthey told the girls to strip down and
um they were thinking that they weregoing to be searched. Sonia was taken
to the spare room where she wasraped and then slowly strangled to death.

(29:53):
And then it was time for Dolores. The same thing, rape with a
slow death, and just like everytime before, the girl's clothing was thrown
out along with the nylon cords, tape and get gigs ever used. This
time, the men laid the girlsin the back of the station wagon and
cover them with a blanket before drivingto a lover's lane that had a landfall

(30:17):
down below, and this is wherethe two girls were dumped and their bodies
were later found. The two wereon a roll ken and knew his next
victim that he wanted to take careof, and this was on a This
was more like a personal vendetta.Christina Weckler, the art student who had
brushed him off when he first movedinto the East Garfield apartments the year before,

(30:40):
saying that he reminded her of asleazy used car salesman. Now he
wanted to kill her. So onSaturday November nineteenth, nineteen seventy seven,
Ken knocked on her door and producedhis lapd badge and smiled, and then
gave her a lying about how hercar was involved in an accident and asked

(31:03):
if she could come down and fillout some paperwork to help expediate the insurance
claim. Christina soon found herself inthe back of a Cadillac, handcuffed and
on her way to Angelo's trim shop. Just as before, she was raped
by both men, but instead ofstrangling her, Angelo brought out a hypodermic

(31:25):
syringe loaded with windex, which, for those of you who don't know,
Windex is ammonia based solution. Theyinjected the Windex into her neck and arms,
and she convulsed but did not die, which made Angelo to think more

(31:45):
creatively, so they dragged Christina intothe kitchen where Angelo was in the process
of installing a gas stove, andthere was a flexible gas pipe that was
already installed, so they took aplastic bag, placed the pipe in the
bag next to her neck, andthen tied everything together with a nylon cord,

(32:05):
and Angelo played with the gas, turning it on and off until Christina
eventually died, suffocating her basically orlike, um, I guess expexation through
gas I suppose basically they like stickingyour head in a gas of it.
Christina's body was found just a fewhours before the bodies of Dolores Sepoda and

(32:28):
Sonia Johnson. Christina was found onRhando's Way and Regal Rock, and two
girls were found on the top ofthe landfill. Three days after this,
Jane King's body was found. Sonow La is starting to worry. Now
things are starting to kind of peopleare starting to kind of connect the docs,

(32:50):
thinking, Okay, all these younggirls are being found naked strangled on
the hillside, so you know, maybe we actually have a killer or killers
on our hands. So the buzzabout the hillside stranglers began to make the
news and a one hundred thousand dollarsreward was issued, which would be four
hundred and twenty five one hundred four, one hundred and twenty five thousand,

(33:14):
six hundred and ninety four dollars andseventy two cents in two days money the
magic of inflation. Even though thingsseemed to be going well for the cousins,
Ken's personal life began to implode. On Thanksgiving, he got into a
fight with Kelly and ended up hittingher in the face, which prompted her

(33:34):
to move out of the apartment thatshe shared with him, and she moved
in with her brother. Four daysafter that, Ken and Angelo were out
searching for another victim and the SanFernando Valley, which is northwest of their
usual hunting area. So I'm surethey're trying to cast a wider net.
Now. Maybe not the time, but now there'd be plenty of people there

(33:58):
in the sand. I mean, there was always plenty of people there,
but you know they called the SanPernando Valley because of howe shot. Oh
is that where the porn industry islocated? Now? Yes, interesting,
San Pornando. That's a that's aclover, no idea. Um, there'd

(34:19):
be plenty of people around there today. There they were doing that again.
Man, oh where am I?Okay, sorry, I'm looking at my
script. Um. This is wherethey found Lorn Wagner, a pretty eighteen
year old redhead who was getting outof her car near a donut shop on
spin. I want to call itBovard Subulvida Subulvana Boulevard. What I want

(34:45):
to know the history behind that name. I'm sure it's named after someone or
something. Um, I've never beenout to California. That's one of the
things I really want to do,um in the next couple of years or
so, is go out to Californiaand just check it out. But that's
neither here nor there. We're doingis definitely there, it's not, but

(35:06):
it's very funny. We're doing amuch better job staying on track. I'm
the one who seems to be goingoff track a lot more. What are
you gonna do? I don't knowthe last time you hit more questions?
Yeah, it just seems to beI think I'm gonna have more questions for
the next part, like the afterwardspart, Like this what happened is sort

(35:28):
of like the middle part where theydo what they do is it's so almost
like this is just what needs tohappen to or you get to how they're
caught and what happened that. Sure, intellectually, somehow I think that's going
to be more interesting. Sure, this isn't interesting insofar as it's like pathetic,
pathetic and sad of like what theydid, and I mean they clearly

(35:51):
had like like their their MMO wasabduction, tie down rape, strangle,
well, clearly a lot of anger. Oh yeah, I mean, if
you just want to kill somebody, you shoot them, you know what I
mean, or something like that, you know, But to strangle somebody,
I imagine that takes some time anda lot of effort. Yeah, a
lot of physical effort for even ifyou're using a garat or like literature or

(36:15):
some sort um. They say thatstabbing someone's incredibly personal mode of murder.
Usually when someone stabs someone, theyknow that person personally, it seems redundant
um. But strangling, well, most people get murdered typically. You don't
get murdered by a stranger. Youget murdered by somebody you know. You

(36:36):
casually are very well. Yeah,I think the exception being with perhaps serial
killers. Well, I will saythat the theme, or I guess the
thing I've noticed with my research onserial killers is a lot of them target
prostitutes because they're outliers, and youcan, unfortunately, kill a lot of
prostitutes, especially women of color, and be under the yeah nobody's looking for

(37:00):
Yeah. Unfortunately no, And Ithink that's still true today unfortunately, which
is why I think um sex traffickingis so freaking prevalent now especially um you
know, across the nation, umwith young girls, especially girls with color.
So um. So now, okay, so here's where they They've met

(37:22):
Lauren Wagner, who's is really prettyeighteen year old redhead, and they follow
her back to her car. Um. Yes, yes, so they're on
specula sepulvida excuse me, sepulvida boulevard. They follow her, she gets back
into her car. Uh. Sonow they're following her. Uh spotcla specila

(37:52):
yesh spectula Uh god, damn it. M So they're following her behind her
car and then they stick a sothey pull behind her when she finally gets
home, and they basically just pullshow the badge and put a forty five

(38:14):
into her face. They drank herout of the car and into the back
of Ken's Cadillac. And so I'mpretty sure it's like, I don't want
to say broad daylight, but itmust be during the day when they're doing
this. The books never really toldme the time of day that they abducted
her, you know, also random, so I thought that keeps popping in

(38:36):
my head. Yeah, did youever see Jack read speaking of scientologists,
did you ever see Jack Reacher withTom Cruise. No, it's based on
a series of books. But morethan that is he gets followed in the
movie by a Cadillac and one ofthe other characters is like, well,
if somebody followed you today, itwas probably a cop, and he goes,

(38:58):
it wasn't a cop. He's likewhy. It's like, there's three
things cops don't too. They don'tvote Democrat, they don't use personal vehicles,
and they don't drive Cadillacts. Likethe three things. Oh, that's
funny. And then the in thein the movie there's a cop at it's
at the table in front of himand he goes like shoulder shrugs, like

(39:20):
it's true. But then even tinyyour side, note, that's actually the
guy who wrote the books. OhTom Clancy did Jack Reacher? No?
I honestly the guy's name escapes meat oh Jack read fuck? I should
know this. I work in abookstore. Lee Child, Lee, Yes,
Lee Child, thank you, thankyou. I really should have just
known that top of my head. But there's so many authors and books out

(39:43):
there then, anyhow, Okay, love scientology more murder? Yes, So
Lauren Um was a smart girl andso She tried to play the two cousins
by saying that she loved having sexand would do whatever they wanted, and
Kim and Angelo were like game foranything, like, Okay, cool,
she's actually gonna be pretty cool,UM, but we're still gonna kill you.

(40:06):
So like, awesome, you wantto do that, cool, well,
then we'll do that, but we'restill gonna kill you. So they
ended up UM tying her up andraping her and then UM. This time
Angelo wanted to try to electrocute her, so they attached UM live wires to
her hands and UM would electrocute her, and really the only thing it did

(40:30):
would it would make her jump andthen it would burn her flesh, so
her flesh was smoking, but itwould it kill her and the experiment essentially
failed, just like the windex onehad, so in the end, the
cousins resorted to UH strangling her justlike they did before all the other women

(40:51):
UM, and this time they dumpedher body on Cliff Drive near the Pasaden
Freeway. So it's like, Ican it's interesting that Angelo is just wanting
to get creative with killing people, because I wonder if he's just bored,
like you can only kill someone somany times before you want to try different
methods. I don't know, II has I think you should has we

(41:14):
should hesitate to suppose like you knowwhat I mean, Like I can't even
imagine what goes through some of thesemight like that, Yeah, that's true.
Um, actually we should watch thisdocumentary. HBO did three documentaries about
Richard Klinsky. Oh cool, youever heard of him? The Iceman?
Yeah, he's been actually pretty popularbecause with um, oh nope, I'm

(41:37):
thinking of a different person. Umlast podcast on the Left that I think
a three partner on the Iceman.Um. But yeah, he was like
a mafia hit man and yep,and and he killed a lot of different
people. Well. He also he'salso kind of like one of those he's
claimed pretty high numbers, right, and some people are like, yeah,
are you sure about that? Likebecause he's at the same time the third

(42:01):
one, the third in the seriesof the documentaries, he was interviewed by
Park Deets. I don't know ifyou know who Park Deets is. He's
a psychiatrist and a pretty famous one, like he interviewed um. Uh,
Jeffrey Dahmer. Jeez, how couldI forget Dahmer? Um? Here in

(42:22):
Milwaukee, but a bunch of otherpeople's. He's pretty famous. Um,
it's pretty interesting. Yeah, giveme that shot. Sometimes definitely sounds interesting.
You know, maybe one of thesedays we'll clever him concerned. He's
more of like a mobster than hewas. I mean, he killed a

(42:43):
lot of people, so yeah,I mean I think you could he even
if half of what he says hishorse shit, he's still I think he
was a serial killer who just happenedto get paid make money, isn't.
Yeah, Yeah, that's very true, very interesting and right group of people
because if I remember right, hegot into the mafia because he was he

(43:05):
worked at a film studio and hewas basically making illegal copies of he was
making illegal pornography, like making copiesof pornography like that people were having developed
and then he was selling them tothe mom Yeah I remember, I think
because I didn't listen to the lastpodcast version or their their three part on
him. Yeah, that does makesense. Interesting. Yeah, I'll definitely

(43:28):
watch that sometime. So yeah.So now they tried electric electrocuting her.
It didn't work, so they endedup dumping her body by the Pasadena Freeway.
Um, when her body was discovered. When Lauren's body was discovered,
a witness came forward saying that shesaw Lauren get getting abducted into what looked

(43:50):
like a black and white LAPD cruiser, but the Cadillac was actually white and
blue. Um and now the citypolice no. So because of this statement
and this witness coming forward, eventhough she was misinformed in in you know,
witnesses are not very reliable. Iguess the city now was tipped off.

(44:12):
And also the police officers were tippedoff that they were now going to
be looking for playing clothes police orpeople. God, they can't fucking talk.
Just cut this. Because of thiswitness, basically all of la was
now aware that there was this playingclosed police scam going on. And because

(44:37):
the cousins had really fucked up becausethey were being careless. They had gotten
so confident with what they were doing, they were now being careless with their
actions. So Ken and Angelo,um, we're not that great off With
their next victim, on December thirteenth, Ken pounced on seventeen year old Kimberly
Diane Martin, who was a quotehusky I foot eight inches and when the

(45:02):
cuffs came on and she became loudand was screaming for help and fighting back.
I think she was also a prostitutefor when I was reading. The
guys were able to kind of quiether down, and once they got back
to Angelo's apartment, she actually apologizedfor making a fuss, but then was
raped and strangled and her body waslater dumped. Even during all this,

(45:22):
Ken still wanted to become an lapolice officer, because I remember in the
first episode we were talking about howhe applied to become a police officer and
just he dropped out of college, couldn't pass his things, and you know,
the background tracks that were done onhim kind of came up a little
bit suspicious. So, but hewas able to go on some ride alongs

(45:44):
as a civilian civilian, and hedid one three days after he had killed
Kimberly, and he even asked theofficer who he was riding around with to
take him to the various hillside stranglerdump sights. And when Angelo found out
about this, he was really pissedand he wanted Ken to just get the
fuck out of Dodge and told himto move out of the la Um.

(46:07):
So this is where two months goby without any hillside strangler bodies or deaths
being reported, and the main reasonwas because Ken's car got repossessed and he
was having like a lot of interpersonalship going on. UM. On February

(46:27):
seventeenth, though, Um, twentyyear old Cindy Hutspith pulled into Angela's trim
shop and she wanted to get somecustom floor mats for her new orange dats.
And that is that the d dat'son car. Okay, um,
and I'm just floor that the colorwas orange, but then again that was

(46:49):
like a popular color in the seventiesright for cars should be suit green,
harbor, orange and brow god, just all colors of shit and vomit.
Yeah, Ken, Yeah Datson.Ken was hanging around the shop when the
beautiful strawberry blonde came in and knewthat she would be the next victim.

(47:10):
They lured her into the house andtied her up to the bed, where
they took their time raping her fortwo hours before they finally strangled her.
This time, they placed her bodyon into the trunk of her own car
and then Ken drove it while wearingrubber gloves. Angela fallen behind and the
customers mustang and then they went outto a turnip on Angelie's Crust Highway high

(47:35):
above the city and pushed the Datsonover the lip of the steep embankment and
washed as the car flipped over oncebefore coming to arrest halfway down the hill.
A week later, Kelly Boyd gavebirth to a little boy named Ryan,
Ken's son. She was still veryleery of moving back in with Ken,

(47:57):
and instead took Ryan and moved toher hometown of Bellingham, Washington,
to be closer to her parents. And Ken followed Kelly up to Washington in
May, leading his cousin behind.Whatever magical mystical bond that the two men
had, it was now dissolving, and while living in Bellingham, Ken more

(48:22):
or less mended his ways until thenight of January eleventh, nineteen seventy nine.
But I think that is where we'regoing to stop, and we will
continue because there's two more victims thatunfortunately meet Ken and thus meet their demise.

(48:43):
But we will continue that and whathappens when they get caught in the
next episode, And I think thatmight be the last episode for the series.
I don't know. It kind ofdepends on how that one, how
long that runs because now we haveto get into the astrology, but which
I'm sure you're going to be justsuper excited to talk about. I told
you I was gonna have more questionsnext time. Yeah. UM, I

(49:06):
hope you guys liked UM this twoperson take in this particular series with with
me and Kyle talking UM. Hopefullythe audio is much better in this UM
episode. I do apologize the lastepisode is probably so bad. We might
redo that one. I don't knowif there's a way I can either fix

(49:27):
it in post and then re uploadit, or if you and I will
just rerecord it, or if I'lljust rerecord it by myself. I don't
know. We'll kind of see ifthere's two of them, have two people
talk about them. That's that's areally good point. That is a very
very good point. And honestly,I think the cap to all the series
would be really cool for us todo our compatibility at the end of the

(49:50):
season, to kind of after wetalk about all this and I don't know,
I'm just spitballing here at the endas you get this glazed look over
your eyes. AnyWho. So,on an astrology note, we had a
full moon I think on Sunday, and then mercury retrograde just ended. So

(50:13):
hopefully for all my astrology listeners outthere who like that part of the show,
hopefully you've survived the craziness. Hopefullyas things go back to quote unquote
normal, you've you've been able towork through whatever you had to. I
know, for me personally, thelast couple of weeks a year with mercury
rich grade have really affected me.Granted it was in my sign of Queis
going into Pisces, but my energyhas kind of been personally very fucked up

(50:36):
for me. But I'm feeling alittle bit better, getting back to myself,
my normal self, and especially withspring on the way here in warmer
weather coming, it definitely helps liftthe mood. So I want to thank
