This show making to an adult languageand themes. Listener discretion is advised.
With that all the way, let'sstart the show. M h. You're
(00:34):
listening to the Murder is My Signpodcast, the True Crime Astrology podcast,
and I'm your host, Jordi Deathhere to let your way through the true
Crime Astrology storm. And given themusic that was the introns of my usual
stuff, you know that this isthe end of the month side slice episode.
(00:55):
UM, and I kind of wasany huwing and not really knowing what
I was going to do for thisside slice. Originally in the month on
Valentine's Day, which happened to fallon a Friday when I usually release episodes,
I was going to do like aspecial side slice on the Valentine's Day
massacre, and then I decided againstit because I was like in the height
of the Kennon Barbie Killers. Andthen I thought like, well, maybe
(01:19):
I could just do at the endof the month. And then well,
we had a pretty big event happenedhere in Milwaukee on February twenty six,
and I figured that this would takethe precedence of our side slice and hopefully
I won't go off on too manytangents, And I don't want to make
this like super political, but obviouslywhen you're talking about you know, either
(01:41):
school shootings or workplace shootings and you'rehaving to talk with you know, gun
control and things like that, itdoes kind of get political and people have
very strong opinions on the matter. For those of you who may not know,
I've lived in Milwaukee for about fiveyears now, and my mom moved
down to Milwaukee a couple of yearsago and literally lives like a block away
from me. So it's really reallynice to have her so close to me.
(02:04):
So like, even though Stevens pointslike my hometown, that's where I
grew up, Milwaukee for most partis just where I call home. But
yeah, So on February twenty six, there was a workplace shooting at most
Course Brewery, which was formerly knownas the Miller Coors Brewery back in two
fifteen. I believe Miller Course wasbought out by Molson Corps and then they
(02:30):
had a rename rebranding in twenty nineteenwhere they're not all called Mulsan Corps.
For those of you who may notalso know, Milwaukee is like brew city.
We have a lot of beers thatwere that began here back in the
day. You know Pat's Blue Ribbon, Lits blacks Miller. You know,
(02:53):
we're a very beer heavy beer barnsall hailed basically from Milwaukee. Like,
if you go to Forest Home Cemetery, there is a small section there called
the beer Barons. I'll take likea small walking tour and you have like
schlitz and blabs, and I believepaps are also buried there. Really really
cool. If you're ever in thearea you wanted to do to get like
a piece of rich Milwaukee history andyou don't mind cemetery, highly recommend checking
(03:15):
out Forest Home. So on Wednesday, February twenty six, at two o
eight pm, the police, MilwaukeeCity Police received a call of a shooting
that was happening at the More MoltenCorpse Brewery. Now, when the report
originally came out and the media begancovering this, originally the report was saying
(03:38):
that it was seven victims and thatit was a former employee who was doing
the shooting. Now it's been acouple of days, the names have been
released, more information is coming forward, and what I would really like to
do is just kind of read thisMilwaukee Journal report that they did, and
(04:00):
this came out yesterday. The titleis reports a merge of friction between Millers
shooter Anthony Farrell and other Mulson Corpsworkers. So all kind of paraphrase,
but hit some key points here. So, the man who opened fired at
Mulson Coorps plant Wednesday, killing fivecoworkers and himself, had been involved in
(04:20):
a long running dispute with a coworker that boiled over before he came back
with two guns and started shooting.According to law enforcement emporary sources, Anthony
N. Farrell, fifty one,had worked as an electrician for more than
twenty years, about seventeen of themat Mulson Coorps. According to multiple sources
(04:41):
and online employment records, Police confirmedhe was the shooter at a Thursday afternoon
news conference. A co worker whoasked not to be identified for fear of
being disciplined, said Farrell believed hewas being discriminated against because he was African
American, and that he frequently arguedwith at least one of the victims.
The co worker said Farrell often watchedmovies on his phone during the day,
(05:03):
which the other man took issue with, and the two accused each other of
going into each other's offices and sealingtools or tampering with computer equipment. Law
enforcement officials said Thursday that no motivehad been determined. Asked at the news
conference whether racial tension was a factorin the shooting, Mayor Tom Barrett declined
(05:24):
to comment on Farrell's motives right now. There's an investigation going on, and
I think it's premature to speculate onanything, Barrett said. I think it's
this is the time to be thereto grieve and to support the families.
About a year ago, the coworker said, Farrell started saying he believed
brewery workers were coming into his home, bugging his computer and moving chairs around.
(05:46):
I was, are you serious,Anthony? What We all kind of
joked about it, saying he shouldmaybe get himself a luminum hat. Things
just started getting weird, but hewas dead serious about it, the co
worker said. But another coworker,Keith Gizy, said Farrell seemed fine when
he saw him earlier this week.I never had a clue. I talked
(06:06):
to him a couple of days ago, and he seemed to be fine to
me. Geezy said, I hadno idea that there was a problem that
somebody could stamp like that. Thefive victims were identified Thursday as Dale Hudson,
sixty of Waukesha, an electrician withMilwaukee Brewery since two thousand and eight,
(06:27):
Jannetti Jean Levitch sixty one of Maquan, a powerhouse operator with the Breweri
since two thousand and eight. Jesusval Junior thirty three of Milwaukee, a
powerhouse operator with Milwaukee Brewery since twothousand and fourteen. Dana Walk fifty four
of Delfield, machinists with the Breweriessince two thousand and four, Trevor What's
(06:53):
leer thirty three of Milwaukee, apowerhouse operator with the Brewer since two thousand
and eighteen. As word spread Thursdaythat Farrell was the shooter, co workers
in neighbors uniformly expressed shock, andit is very shocking. I do apologize
for it because I know I probablymispronounced some of the names unfortunately, and
(07:14):
I try very very hearty to mybest, but this is my first cold
reathrough of this article. I'm notgoing to read the whole article because it
goes on to cover quite a bit, but it's very good. It goes
on to say that Farrell, youknow, was a very good electrician.
He was in the International Brotherhood ofElectric Electrical Workers in Milwaukee. He also
served in the US Coastguard from nineteeneighty seven to nineteen eighty one, was
(07:38):
honorably discharged and received Milwaukee County VeteranServices, and he used a VA loan
to buy a house over in theWest Potomac Avenue area, where he and
his wife and family lived since twothousand and four. He was also an
avid gun collector and had suffered along history of back pain, made worse
(08:01):
when he was in a car accidentin two thousand and nine. In two
thousand and ten, also he hadto manage with opioids, and so another
I think critical part, because Ithink that this obviously could have a lot
to do with you know him thathe was a co plaintiff with Miller Corp's
health benefits program in a two fifteenlawsuit in connection with the second wreck.
(08:24):
The report filed as evidence in thatsuit, written by Glendale physician Jeffrey Gorelick,
stated Ferris's back problem started about twentyfive years earlier. He would use
victin and opiate based pain killer andcyclo Benz the prine, a muscle relaxant
when lower back pain flared up,Gorlick wrote, and so the case was
(08:45):
eventually like thrown out, I guess, But it sounds like Anthony Farrell was
a very, very hard working man. He would work more than fifty hours
a week and then you'd basically bebedridden on the weekends to recover, and
it really kind of prevented him from, you know, living a fulfilling life.
And I mean, when you workfifty hours a week, that's pretty
(09:05):
crazy, a very scary situation, especially you know, as a civilian and
you have no idea what's going on. No one in the general public was
hurt in this shooting. The fivepeople I had mentioned all worked at Molson
Course, including the shooter. Theinvestigation is still going on. I don't
know if funeral services have been announcedyet for any of the victims. This
(09:31):
the entire city of Milwaukee is reallyhurting right now, and there's a lot
of like hashtag Milwaukee strong, hashtagMiller strong, and I think we just
need to come together call for change. I mean, thoughts and prayers are
only going to get you so far. Really, it's going to just come
down to action, you know, guys, and I think that's going to
start with paying attention to what's happeningaround you, becoming active and voting,
(09:56):
even though it doesn't seem like weare still very much a democracy. So
anyhow, my heart definitely goes thosewho lost their lives on Wednesday, and
then also with the community of Milwaukee, City of Milwaukee. Thank you guys
so much for listening. This isthe last episode for February and next month
