Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're a bound to enter the world of Michael Zavalla.
Now your change to turn back game?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Michael, those two red bull do uh something.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
I don't hear you.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
I'm just bains that's what you're thinking about. This is
m Z. Now.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
So we finally got that uh Prince Street pizza whatever
it is you did. Yeah, I was, uh, you want
to guess, you want to guess?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
You want to play a game? Yes, I'll get the pizza.
When we got the stars the m Z rating, they
let's do uh, let's do one to five. Okay, five
mean good or bad good.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I'm going you know, because of all the MZ ratings
started like two and a half or three, right, So
I'm going three and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Okay, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
I'm kind of sensing a little bit of disappointment in
your tone.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Okay, let me go two? Yeah, two as well? All right,
I'll be different. Oh, I say Sean, But Sean was there, Jenny,
what would you give? What'd you think?

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I'm gonna go a solid three?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
All right? Umm, I think three is fair.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
I think it was a three rating because it wasn't terrible,
but it was not worth The lines wrapped around the building.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
No, No for the price, the price, what did you
pay for those pizzas?

Speaker 6 (01:42):
By the way with tip? Like sixteen is some change
for two slices? And mine was smaller. Yeah, it was pillaging.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
So was it worth it?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It was too sweet.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I've never had New York pizza, but I would imagine
New York pizzas long and floppy.

Speaker 7 (01:59):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
And it it tastes very greasy, you know what I mean,
like very they put it together. This is made with
you know, gas and yeah, pollution. I had it went
to New York, Yeah I didn't. I don't know where
you all were, so so it was even better probably.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I could imagine if I was hanging out, if Vickory
Park was still there, and I was hanging out on
Knox Anderson all the time, and it's two o'clock in
the morning and that place is open, I can imagine
being good. Yeah, if you just want a pizza, though,
that's there's so many other places to go to.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
The place that was there before was way better. Good.
It was way better than this is what I'm saying. Okay,
but it's still and that's not good.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
And it was packed because there was nothing but bars
around it right, Yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
No, to be fair, there was no reason for that
place to have a line around the building when it opened.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
No, it's literally, well did you very small?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Well, di'd you hear about the Micheline rated Taco Place. Yeah,
that was complete failure.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
And then there was another thing, like a French restaurant
or something that people have gone to and they say
it's really not that great.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
That's different. But what I'm saying is like the well,
I guess not different. But the Micheline rated taco place
apparently was a complete disaster that they didn't prepare well
for the I don't know, the onslaught of clients, customers,
and uh yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
They went out of business or what.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Well, it was like a pop up thing, and I
think they're gonna try again next month. But this is
some taco place in Mexico City, and you know they
have the best tacos and our food and Dallas's crap,
even though we probably have arguably the third best food
scene in the nation.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
I would I would say so. But let's go to
our guest today who might know where to go. Jenny
Smith was a great name, by the way.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Smith.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, it's easy to remember parents. Yeah right, yeah, you're
easy to like. You can just kind of dive into
the crowd. No one can find you, like, oh, look
me up, Jenny Smith exactly, and you're you're Yeah, it's great.
So you're a content creator. But we also you have
a day job I do. And now we're gonna play
another game called guess the day job. We'll start with Sean,

(04:01):
what would you guess.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Without asking any question?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
You don't just quite looking at her?

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Okay, dang.

Speaker 6 (04:09):
Oh No, I want to give you something, something off
the cuff, some type of.

Speaker 8 (04:16):
Technician I don't know, yeh, a technician industry okay, like auto, but.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
Like you, you've somebody I would come to if I
need you to fix something.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
All right, Eric, something the medical field very close?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Wow, well I'm a way off then I was thinking
dance instructor.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
That for sure. Wow, thank you Cloridan.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I was going to say, you're a mailman or a
woman while I work. I live in a post office.
So everybody, that's true? All right, who I guess I
can get? Uh? I don't know law firm? No, okay,
you had a che because he was the close. Eric
was so closed, I know, but I wanted to be different.

(05:10):
Okay I was wrong, all right. Yeah you mnd me
of like a nurse.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Oh thank you, like in a girl that was really
made in high school way, or in like a.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Helpful wayful way.

Speaker 7 (05:22):
Yeah, actually like running around the hospital like trying to
help people, Yeah, save lives.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Yeah, so I actually work in pharma.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
I do. Like, oh so does Eric.

Speaker 8 (05:31):
You're trying to Yeah, yeah that's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yeah, but yeah, I'm like involved in clinical trials.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
So okay, yeah, yeah, you work with a lot of
like animals, you stick them with stuff.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
And uh no, I actually did that in grad school though,
did you really?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah that's awesome.

Speaker 8 (05:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
So the reason why we have you on the show
is because you're a you're a local content creator and
you just started your content creation journey. Yes, so tell
us about that. How'd you get started? So?

Speaker 8 (05:58):
I have always loved like the idea of creating content
and like blogging and all of that, and like I
was always told growing up, like it's not a fashion show,
like don't seek attention, and then I'm like, well, you.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Know, maybe I will, maybe I'll like share.

Speaker 8 (06:13):
I don't know the things I do with the world
and like make videos about it and whatever, and like
it's just fun to work on social media, I guess
because like it's kind of art in a way, and
it's self expression in a way. And I just realized,
like I'm doing a lot of fun stuff around Dallas,
so I might as well just like share it with Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
And it's helpful too, because if you go to an
event and it sucks and you say, hey, it sucks,
I'm not going to go yeah, right, Like that's kind
of you're kind of doings a self service to people.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
Yeah, and I'm trying.

Speaker 8 (06:41):
That's that's another thing too, like giving people recommendations, because
there's a lot of like lesser known things in Dallas
that like don't get a lot of hype, like a
lot of people that do I guess, like recommendations. I mean,
it's not bad to get paid for it, because like
obviously businesses we want to market, but like sometimes things
get overhyped and then other things get overlooked.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Princy pizza, Yes, Oh my gosh, I so many videos?

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Did you have you been there yet?

Speaker 8 (07:03):
No?

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Okay, yeah, don't fall for the trap.

Speaker 8 (07:05):
Well that's what a lot of people are saying they're
like it's not that good. I'm like, okay, I'll just
maybe I'll try it when there's like no line.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
But yeah, we went on a Tuesday. A Tuesday, it
was like eleven o'clock.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
You didn't think anybody's gonna be there, still a line
and wrapped around the building.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
It was crazy.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Then on the opposite end of the pizza places, Derby.
I still don't understand how it's not one of the
biggest places.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
In the city Derby, which is a restaurant right down
the street. Incredible restaurant.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
My only guess is it's in a weird place.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, like no one's out here going dining, right, But
it's probably the best brunch in the city. They all
have a rotating menu, they got all sorts of food.
I went there, uh, like two weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
It was great. It's always great. Yeah, I forgot to
invite Eric, and Eric forgot to invite me. I forgot
about that. Oh well did I forget too? But it
was great.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
It was a great experience. But here's my problem with
Dallas restaurants now, which is everyone that opens up is
a fine dining restaurant. There's no just like, hey, I
want to go grab you know, something casual whatever. It's
always fine dining. They're super expensive and the food is
all they all taste the same. There's nothing good anymore.
So it's like it's hard to go out and do anything.

(08:18):
Let's talk about how you cause you're not from here, You're.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
From where I'm from.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Wisconsin originally got youa I hear a little bit of
the accent, not a whole lot, but yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
I say bag as big.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
So do you say that still for it?

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Stay big? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Wow, that should have been a test. We didn't do that.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
I know Khakis or that's Boston never mind, Yeah, I think.
But so, how long you've been in Dallas since twenty sixteen?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Okay? And your job brought it? Like, tell us the story.
How'd you get here? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (08:46):
So I actually came down here for grad school. I
did my PhD at ut Southwestern, so right down the street. Yeah. Literally,
That's why I was like, oh, I know this area,
I've been here before. But yeah, so I finished that.
It took like seven years. And that's why I said
I was working with animals because I was doing neuroscience.
So oh wow, I was studying just kind of like

(09:08):
brain waves if you will, while animals were performing like
memory tasks, so just studying learning and memory. And so
after that, I actually tried to get a job somewhere
out of Dallas because I was like a little bit
disillusioned with it.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
I was like, Okay, time to go to the coasts.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (09:23):
And at the time, I was trying to like go
into data science, and like everyone, like so many layoffs
happened at like Google Meta all of that, and so
I could not compete at all. And then I found
the gig that I have right now, and I love
it and it's kind of perfect. It worked out.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
That's awesome. So you you're like, you're very smart. It
sounds like I hope so.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Well, yeah, it's doctor Jenny. By the way, is it
really get it right?

Speaker 8 (09:48):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I wish I Yeah, Well I would have been if
I had gone on my trip to Austin this week,
I would have been Michael's evala A list at Southwest.
I signed my name that but I'm still one flight down.
So anyway, those are very comfortable and and well, you know,
it's you both in both fields. You have to work
very hard, right, I have to fly a lot. You

(10:09):
have to study and work on animals and save lives
and things like that. Uh, and yeah, it's a lot.
Sometimes we got to deal with turbulence when we're flying,
and you have to deal with lives. You know, it's
a whole thing, very close. So then you started your
content journey just because you were were you bored with
your first off? What keeps you here in Dallas other

(10:29):
than the job? Because you were wanting to go and
now you found the gig, You're still here obviously. So
what what do you like about Dallas coming from the north.

Speaker 8 (10:36):
I well, the weather first and foremost, Like I'm ever
going to do another Wisconsin winter, I'm sorry. Like if
I move somewhere else, it's going to be warm, right,
or if it's like New York or something, then it's
New York. So obviously, like I'll put up with it, right,
But yeah, what keeps you here in Dallas is like
I have made some really good friends, and like if
I want to go fly somewhere else, it's really easy.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Right, You're three hours everything? Yep. Yeah, you start your
content creation journey. You started it on TikTok. Is that
where I was?

Speaker 8 (11:07):
Yeah? Actually I did start on Instagram too, but it's
kind of terrifying to start doing that in front of
your friends and like people that don't know you the
very well. And like, I'm friends with a lot of creatives,
but I'm also friends with a lot of people that
aren't creative and like don't understand it.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
So like doctors, I imagine yes and no, yes and no.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
But yeah, Instagram is a platform where it's like you
really need your followers to be engaging with it or
it's not going to get anywhere. So I realized TikTok
is like different, and so I was like, Okay, this
is kind of like a safe place to experiment.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
No one's really going to see it.

Speaker 8 (11:41):
Like I'm I'm a millennial, so like not a lot
of millennials that I know are really super into TikTok
like me. But so I just was kind of like, oh,
this is like a separate thing that I can just
kind of like fail at if I need to sure
and scratch pad exactly, it's a scratchpad. And then like
video started hitting and I was like, oh, okay, cool,
I like this.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Yeah, do you feel I mean, you're a doctor, You're
doing important things. Do you feel at some point if
your content career took off that you would switch lanes.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
And do that.

Speaker 8 (12:10):
Possibly, I wouldn't say no if if it was the
right situation, then then yeah, I could see it happening.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Yeah, would you do content related to your field? Have
you thought about doing that?

Speaker 8 (12:21):
I actually have thought about that, But I just feel like,
for me, social media TikTok, I want it to be
really fun and honestly, I don't.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Want to have to think that hard.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah, you don't want to be a job because it
is like.

Speaker 8 (12:35):
If I were to like do something about science and
like make it really scientific, then I'd really want to
do it right, and that's just a lot of research,
and I don't really want to do that.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
That's when you hire a team, you get you have
a PA, and you have them do it and then
that's it true, Okay, and then you could be Jenny
the science.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Help me out to Eric. But maybe maybe it doesn't
have to be so technical, right.

Speaker 7 (13:00):
I've seen I come across like some videos of a
Collogy nurse, right, and so she gets out tips about
like what are things that are maybe help like not
be I guess like making cancer but everything's cancers. I
feel like, But yeah, she'sa like, oh, drink, you know
you get this product or whatever. Or look when you
when you're buying products, look for these things on the

(13:21):
back label because it helps with X Y Z.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Right.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, something simple and then I see them all the
time and they get a lot of views.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Yeah, you could also make another account and just experiment
just like you did, and if it takes off, just
delete it never existed.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
People go oh, I saw that video you did. No,
you didn't exist.

Speaker 8 (13:39):
That's a good idea. Yeah, I could have multiple accounts
to make it. They make them all like a separate
niche or something.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
I was just talking right here before the show.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
I was saying, uh that social media is a vending
machine out a vending machine, a slot machine where you
the more you play, the more chances you have to
win big. And so if you can do more things
you can, uh, you know, it's better, You're better off.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
Yeah, I agree with it, And.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
I would personally love for you to do like neuroscience
for demies because I am taking that right now, and
that's nothing better than being able to take such a
complex subject in breaking down into little bits and pieces
for us normal folk that listen to a lot of
rap music.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
We don't have time for that, so I would love that.
That would be really cool.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
I like how you back away from Mike like you
were at a podium asking you questions.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Thank you. That's all. That's all I have. Thank you. Yeah.
What I'm hearing is you need neuroscience raps. Right there
you go. Jenny is the one.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
So your content focus a lot about life and little runs,
run ins and stuff with people or whatever, but a
lot of it is also you going to events. And
so what's your favorite part of Dallas? What are your
favorite what's your favorite part of Dallas? To start with that,
and then I'll ask you another question.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Yeah, I am a big Bishop Arts curly Oh sure, yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (14:51):
I love the restaurants, I love the walkability, and I
spend a lot of time there.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
I have a lot of friends there.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
So top three restaurants in Dallas that you would go to?

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Oh gosh, I am obsessed with Pillar right now.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
It is such like a cute neighborhoody spot. It's kind
of like hidden away.

Speaker 8 (15:08):
And like they just have amazing food there, Like I
don't know how to describe it, Like their grilled leaks
are insane and their brisket is insane, and I don't
even really like brisket that much, So that's.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Saying a lot.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Give me a couple of restaurants you've been to that you've, like,
you know, in our experienced Prince Street, that were hyped up.
You went there and they weren't that great.

Speaker 8 (15:29):
Oh my gosh, that's a really good question. I actually can't.
I know, I have some in my hand and I
can't even think of it.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Yeah, on the cut, Like I'll say, mister Charles for me,
was not the greatest. I know a lot of people
love those Charles restaurants, but to me, it was not
that great.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
Did they get a Michelin rec or was that the Charles?

Speaker 1 (15:50):
I think it was the I can't remember one of
them did.

Speaker 8 (15:52):
And I remember someone a news outlet here posted it
wrong and they like mixed them up and they had
to do a correction. I feel like, I don't want
to say it was Dallas Observer if it wasn't, but
like I think, I.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Think you're right.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah, I saw that because I've been to both both.
By the way, so my hair girl loves the Charles.
So I went there, and uh, it was okay, but
it wasn't like I think everyone. You know, when people
hype up things too much, Yeah, and then your expectations
way up here. Then you go and you're like, oh,
it's it's fine. It's just like any other restaurant. And
the food wasn't anything that it was. So I looked

(16:25):
at the menu. I don't even know what half the
stuff is, so I don't know what to expect, and
it was a whole thing like that. But when I
go to Chili, it's they never had that problem. I'm
gonna chill, I'm getting my salmon, my load of mashed potatoes.

Speaker 8 (16:35):
I know.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
So I don't know I'm spoiled because I'm a Chili's guy.

Speaker 8 (16:39):
Okay, I thought of the two, I have two restaurants
that I was a little disappointed in. One of them
was Lucia, which that's a hot take, I feel like,
because like they got another Michelin reck this year, and
I just remember thinking, like I ate there and I
was like, I mean, it's good, but it's not like
wowing me right. And I couldn't tell if it was
just because like I had this really high expectation of

(16:59):
it or it just wasn't as good as I thought.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
So yeah, and then Evelyn, see, I've been wanting to try, Evelyn,
and because right across the street from quick Car and
that's where I take my car sometimes. No, that's Beverly sorry, Evelyn,
though I've been wanting to try. And yeah, I don't know,
like anything, if an influencer says to try it, I'm
always weary.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Now, yeah, I've been burned too many times.

Speaker 8 (17:22):
The fries okay, so I forget all what we got,
but we got Steak Freez and the steak itself I remember,
like me and my date were both just like no,
like it wasn't good. But the fries they were amazing.
They were like cooked in beef tallow and they're so crispy,
Like yeah, I would order the fries again for sure.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Okay, Yeah, that's good. Put that on my list. So
must try.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Is that one restaurant and that's some Bishop Barts killer Yeah, okay,
I never down there because I'm so afraid to get
in my car stolen.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
I have brunch that looks good before the show one
day at.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Pillar Yeah, yes, yeah, I was actually there yesterday.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I'm mat try it.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Let's talk about what you're watching right now, because I'm
out of Netflix recommendations.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
What are do you?

Speaker 3 (18:07):
First off, you're mean, you're very smart, You're a doctor.
You probably don't have time to watch TV like the
rest of us. But if you did, what would you watch?
Top three?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
What are you watching right now? I I'm pretty good
a medical paper right now.

Speaker 8 (18:18):
Actually, that's so funny, Like I am yeah, like I
am a pH and all that, But like, I don't
do smart people's stuff.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Okay, yeah I do. I do regular per one of us, Yeah, no.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
One of us. Yeah, yeah, I don't really watch show.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Look.

Speaker 8 (18:33):
I go through periods of time where I'm like super
into binging stuff and right now I'm just like a
comfort rewatcher. So I actually just started watching Sex and
the City and Desperate Housewives.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
And I put on The Simple Life today.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Oh my god, oh my god, my boyfriend, I are
watching that. Yeah, I had to buy it. I don't know,
I don't know where to get it, so I bought it.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
Yeah TV, yeah, HBO or Amazon is where?

Speaker 8 (18:58):
Oh maybe?

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Yeah A simple it was so it's so good. Oh
my god, I love it.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Yeah, and they do a reboot or were they were
trying to do something else with it at some point.
I don't know. I don't think so.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
I've been told vander Pump Rules, I need to watch.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Oh somebody was talking about that. Chris Brother.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
Yeah he Binge watched all the seasons, even seasons seven months.
Oh my god, yeah too much.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Are you a horror fan? Horror horror? Are you watching?
You say you don't watch Bucking to Dairy? Right now,
let's come out. I don't watch what Welcome to Dairy
Stephen King's I watched.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
The first episode.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
What did you think about it?

Speaker 5 (19:33):
It was it was good.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
You didn't know what it was.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
No, It's like it just like auto played. I forgot.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
I was like watching something and scrolling and it started
auto playing, and then I was like, oh, this is cute,
and then it started getting really weird.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
I was like, wait, I love this, but I did
not expect this. Yeah, the first episode was good.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, I liked it.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
I heard it was very it's something you're gonna remember.
I haven't watched it yet. Yeah, is it really gory?

Speaker 7 (19:56):
I would say the first episode, I would say yes, yeah,
But after that I think it kind of like.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Calms down, that kind of out. Just try to grab
you inad Compare that Gore to the what is it?
Nineteen eighty six version, which one's Gorrier.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
I would have to say, I'll have to the show
just because like that was made for TV. It was
very little gore. Yeah, so they had to like down like,
oh you in the movie? Yeah? The movie? Okay, Yeah?

Speaker 3 (20:24):
What show was it that I was watching that? I
was like, oh, Eric should be watching this. I can't
remember what do you watch right now?

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Eric? I think you might be watching the same thing,
but I can't remember the name of it. And Welcome
to Darry right now. Also on amc oh, I know
what it is. Okay, I'm gonna cut you off. Uh.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
It was was that move with Jason Bateman of Black
Rabbit on Netflix? Now that Jason Bateman Jude Law. It's
like a little mini series. I was just putting it
on to watch something the other day and it was
it hooked me. I was every episode of it. At first,
it seems like it's just like guys running a bar
or a restaurant, and like the the scenes things that

(21:00):
happened that we all bear. No, no, no, it's it's
a little bit more dramatic, and it's like.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
What stuff.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
So there's something going on, and then one of the
brothers has like a gambling addiction, and he's an addict,
and he goes there's money involved that they owe these people,
and then it just gets more and more and more intense.
And I've never seen Jason Bateman in a role like that.
And I also realized Jason bab yeah, no, no, but
in Ozark, he's still a good guy, just got made
some bad decisions.

Speaker 8 (21:27):
Here.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
He's actually like a bad like a douchebag, you know,
and so he can play anything now.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
But he's so great. But I realized he can't yell.
You ever notice that Jason Bateman can't yell. He just goes, uh,
He's like, okay, guys, Like that's as high as his
voice can go.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
We can't go any higher than that.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
Like Jerry Seinfeld, Yeah, it's a very much jerious.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
It's like a cap at a certain point. Hey, you
know what, that's not fair. That's him screaming that his
veins are popping out of his Yah. Yeah, I know that.
You say that.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
That's all he can do. But uh, great show. That's
a really good I wish there was more seasons of that.
I don't know if you sold me on it, but okay, else,
you know, what do you need?

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Do you want? A description of things isn't always but
I don't want to give too much away because if
I give anything away basically, but you didn't give me anything, right.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
That sounds like what if you go to the Sopranos,
you know there's money and stuff, drugs.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
I'm reading you the exact description and that says on
Netflix before you push play, two brothers had a bar
and crazy things happen. Watch it now, Okay, I give
you bar Rescue. Yeah, I mean, but you got to
watch to find out. It's really good and I love
Jason Bateman and uh and it's great. So that's my recommendation.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
So I remembered what I am watching.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
That's why I was talling, because I knew she was
gonna remember no.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Exactly, Like that's how I am. Like someone asked me
a question and I'm like, oh, no, Like what music
do you listen to?

Speaker 5 (22:44):
I don't know? And then I like think of it
a day later, I'm like, why didn't I say that?

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Right? I'm the same way.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Yeah, But so if you like.

Speaker 8 (22:51):
Really weird humor, like Tim Robinson stuff like I love
Tim Robinson. Okay, the Chair Company.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Yes, Oh, I guess that was interesting. Yeah, it's so
good everything he does. I just finished watching Detroiters. Have
you seen that?

Speaker 3 (23:03):
So it's a sitcom he did with Sam Richardson. It's
on Netflix or Peacock, And uh, it's great.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
You should watch that. It's really cool.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Put it on my list.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Yeah, I'll give you a whole lot of recommendations.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
But if you like like other like maybe supernatural stuff
like I'm watching Tallamasca. Uh, it's and Rice like book series,
like kind of like in the same universe as like
Interview the Vampire. And then also Mayfair Witches. It's also
like n Rice. So it's about like a family of
obviously witches called Mayfair. Last Ane's Mayfair actually one of them.
I think she is a neuro like doctor. So, and

(23:38):
it's because her power is basically like to basically kind
of like go into people's like neurological like body whatever area,
and I either like cause like issue or like actually
now she's able to fix like problems, like cure people.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
That's really cool. Which interesting.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
I like that.

Speaker 8 (23:58):
I like astrology. You met in Astrology earlier. I was
like I'm an astrology grow Yeah, are you an aries?

Speaker 3 (24:03):
No?

Speaker 1 (24:05):
I think it's okay, Catherine, right, you want to today?

Speaker 8 (24:13):
So I'm a Gemini son. I was gonna say toris
okay close? Yeah, a Gemini sun Scorpio moon, Virgo rising.
So ear signs is like my what I present to people?

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Really? Yeah, I'm a I'm a Gemini, but I present.
We know I present. I think Gemini in social settings,
but internally I'm a Taurus sign.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
Yeah, I present is a Capricorn, but I'm a Virgo
sun sign.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
What about your actually actually that's a full moon. Yeah,
I don't know what you guys are talking.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Actually you know what he is?

Speaker 1 (24:48):
He actually is an aries? Oh yeah, whatever that is,
I guess is not reading up on this.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Let's get back to your social media journey. Where do
you find your or like the best videos that you do?
Like what what are your what which ones do the people.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
To click the most?

Speaker 6 (25:05):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (25:05):
Definitely probably the recommendations and the reviews, So you do
it more of that you think. So I'm definitely in
like because I just got started. I'm in like a
kind of figuring it at out phase, and I know,
like I know that's what's going to bring traffic to
my page, and that's what's like, you know, that's helpful
to people, so they're going to be interested in that.
But then sometimes like a random text post with a
hot take, we'll get like a lot of views too. Yeah,

(25:28):
and I'm kind of at a point where I'm like, yes,
I like doing this, but I want to make it
worth my while, like financially, right, And so that probably
means like marketing products, maybe getting into like the beauty space.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
So did you model? Have you a model before?

Speaker 3 (25:41):
I have?

Speaker 8 (25:41):
Yeah? Yeah, I'm actually thinking about doing that more too.
But like you know, day job, you can't really you're limited, yeah,
very limited. But I know a lot of photographers, a
lot of people in like the creative spaces in Dallas.
So like typically I'll just like do test shoots with
friends or just like personal creative projects.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Yeah, so that creative side is still there.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
So you have the the day job saving lives, you know,
coming up with cures or whatever you guys do, and
then the other side is like I want to create stuff.
I want to that's really cool. Let's say your job
doesn't exist, that field doesn't exist. People are healthy, they
don't need pharmaceuticals or whatever, and you could do anything
you wanted, no income, you have no worries about money.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
What would you do? Ooh?

Speaker 5 (26:23):
So like whatever I did would just like make the
money that I wanted to do.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
You don't even need to worry about money. We've changed,
we don't need it. We go off of a credit
system or something I don't know. Oh okay, yeah, yeah,
a bartering system, baring system, we trade, vibe everything, everything
is trade. Everything is paid for your house. But you
don't have storry about anything. So now it's not about
money anymore.

Speaker 8 (26:44):
Okay, So then that's just like a personal passion yea thing.
So what is it I think I would continue to create?
I think I would do like like video skits, Like
I think I would like want to write stuff and
like either produce it acted out like.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Something like that, or like you know, lifestyle.

Speaker 8 (27:02):
Influencer where you're traveling to all these wonderful, beautiful places
and that's not really work.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
That's just just taking that's just a fancy way of
showing off your vacation photos.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Exactly.

Speaker 8 (27:11):
Yeah, good idea creating something and then like maybe I
don't know, doing something to help people I know. I've
been talking with people in the Bishop Arts area to
start doing like charity type stuff and like filming it, so.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
That might be in the near future too.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
So where can we find you? What's your Instagram? What's
your TikTok? What do we how do we? How do
we keep up with you?

Speaker 8 (27:35):
So my Instagram and TikTok are the same handle. Actually
used to have a private Instagram until like last week,
and I'm like, Okay, TikTok's kind of popping off.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
I need to like open it up public.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (27:44):
Yeah, so that's scary, but it's both je dot n
dot p y Genpi.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
You ever seen the movie Forrest Gump? Have you seen
that movie?

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Jena?

Speaker 1 (27:55):
I thought I was gonna be.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
The first to say it, But all right, well, anything
you want to leave us, anything that you want to
any last words, anything we didn't touch on that you
want to talk about.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
No, I think we're good.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Any more TV show recommendations from Eric or myself. I mean,
we have a lot.

Speaker 5 (28:09):
I'll take all of them.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
We have a lot.

Speaker 8 (28:11):
No.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
I think knowing that you love Tim Robinson, that's all
you got it your set. You don't need anything else.
But I would watch the charters. What kind of advice
would get somebody just starting out?

Speaker 8 (28:20):
You have to forget about what anyone else is thinking,
and you kind of have to acknowledge that, like if
you're afraid, like, oh, someone's gonna judge me, Someone's going
to think this is bad. Like that's all happening inside
of your head. Yeah, Like the reality is a lot
of people probably want to see you do well. They
want to see you do well. And if you post
a video and it flops, like, yes, the algorithm sometimes

(28:41):
doesn't pick things up that it maybe should pick up.
But also like learn from your mistakes and learn from
the I guess analytics, And when you see someone else's
video do really well, learn from that too, like see
what they're doing, and how do you compare it to
your content?

Speaker 5 (28:58):
And like how do you get there so perfect? Paying attention?

Speaker 7 (29:02):
I have a question because you edit your own stuff
right and everything, So I just know, so editing, I
know is a pain. So how do you, like still,
I guess, motivate yourself to continue on? I know, after
hours of editing and stuff, how do you find that
motivation discontinue?

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Oh, like after you are after a day job.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
Yeah, yeah. I honestly like it's hard.

Speaker 8 (29:24):
I have a backlog of like actually a lot of
content that I'm like, Okay, I need to do this,
like drink menu review, I need to do this, and
then of course, like I'll spend a lot of time
editing like a makeup video, and then it flops and
it's like Okay, why am I doing this?

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Right?

Speaker 5 (29:36):
It's hard to stay motivating.

Speaker 8 (29:37):
You just kind of got to realize, like you just
kind of got to go like how much do I
want to put this out there? And do I think
it's like worth Like do I think other people are
gonna like it and value it? And if the answer
is yes, then for me that's motivating. I'm like, Okay, yeah,
I can spend a few more hours a week on this.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
Out of all the places that you've interviewed as far,
is there any place that you've gone where it's like
I just constantly want to go back, or a place
that you've been to that is like I need to
Gate keep this place because I don't want it to
Obviously you wouldn't share the place, but have you run
into that where it's like this place is.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Sean gate keeps everything I show do because I don't
like crafts.

Speaker 5 (30:15):
Yeah, no, that's valid.

Speaker 8 (30:16):
I have Okay, So typically when I go to a
place a lot, I will get to know the staff
and I'll get to know like, you know, I have
a lot of friends in service industry, and I'm like,
you know what, they deserve their bag too. So I'm like,
I don't know if I want to gate keep something
where I know the people that have a stake in
it because I want them to be successful.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
So yeah, I don't know. I haven't wanted to gatekeep
yet Pill.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
If you were, would it be a Pillar?

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Yeah, it would have been Pillar. Too bad, it's too
late after the show.

Speaker 8 (30:46):
I should Oh my gosh, and they have a really
great Happy Hour two even better.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Yeah, well, Jenny, great meeting you. I'm sure we'll have
you back. I've got some ideas I'll talk to you
about out the show. But yeah, thanks for coming out.

Speaker 5 (30:58):
Thank you.
