Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hey, folks, are you doing Wayne SPIERCENEWBS Radio Productions dot Com.
I just wanted to bring up a couple of things
for you today. I am away from the studio as
I yeh, I'm I'm here recording this of course, but

(00:37):
when you hear this, I will be away from the
studio for a bit and probably won't be back in
the studio till Monday.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I just had to take a few days off, just
gonna stretch my legs. If you will just kinda do
some stuff and so I'll be back on Monday. I'll
also I want to tell you that, if you haven't
already seen it, I have a new show on the
road you Travel and the show is called Deep Dive.

(01:11):
And I know that's very original. I know I get it,
but I want to tell you about this unique show.
I come up with the concepts, I create the ideas,
they're there, I type them out, I make sure everything
that I want, every piece of the topic is there

(01:33):
and how I want it, and then I put it
into Gemini AI and GEMINIAI brings up and creates these
notes and outlines for what it is the concept I
want to share, and then I hit this thing called
audio review, and in that it creates two hosts Gemini

(02:02):
generated hosts, and it talks about the topic that I
conceived of that I've put out there. If you've listened
to the first twenty six episodes, or if you haven't,
please check them out. And that is the only time
I will ever use AI in that particular type of situation. Now,

(02:27):
as far as voiceover for a new West Radio theater
and characters I create for the audio fiction I write,
it is going to be live human beings. It's not
going to be AI. I believe AI and voiceover is
totally wrong. But advertisers and all these other people, they

(02:48):
think it's okay because they don't have to pay a
voiceover actor like myself or anybody else for that matter,
to do their ads. Well, what they're doing is taking
money out of my pocket or the potential income that
I could have for the next year if they would
hire me, and I you know, they would be one

(03:10):
of my clients. But see, here's this whole idea. Excuse me,
here is this whole idea. I've never seen so many
people clamor to do less to get more. Okay, never

(03:31):
in my life have I seen this, and this goes back.
I'll give you some timeframes, probably within the last ten years.
I've never seen so many people want to get paid
for doing less and get paid well for doing less. Now,

(03:52):
when I created this, this idea of New West Radio
productions in New West Radio Theater and created this idea
to have audio fiction, it is born out of my
experience in live theater, and so I've had actors and
stuff from the theater I currently associate with work on

(04:13):
some of the things that I've written. I will never
ever have AI in voiceover. The only show that I
have on my network is Deep Dive Under the Road
You Travel, because that is informational. That is more so

(04:34):
an overview of the topic that I created or that
I thought about that I wanted to create, and it's
two hosts quote unquote generated by Gemini AI. That's the
only time you're ever going to hear that. But in
the audio fiction that I create for New West Radio Theater,

(04:56):
you're going to hear live actors. Okay, that's it. Now
going to the aspect of the companies not wanting to
pay anybody like myself to do their ads. Again, I've
said it before, they're potentially taking money out of my pocket.

(05:17):
Other I've noticed also other companies do pay voiceover people
to do their ads, and generally it's in house. It's
it's whoever they have that they would like to you know,
record an ad or whatever. It's them. So there are

(05:38):
other companies like that. But what is totally happening, and
my point is this is that voiceover actors are being
pushed out of the out of the you know, out
of the market, and now we have to adapt, and
now we have to move forward into adapting and changing
things around to a common eight for the As I

(06:02):
heard someone say, the competition, which is AI. I don't
think we should be able or should do that at all.
I think AI should be completely banned, out of out
of commercialization of whatever company wants to use AI for

(06:22):
their you know, ad creation. AI needs to be completely
removed from voiceover work as far as the unions are concerned.
And they're still fighting this, by the way, the unions
are still going to court and trying to find some
solutions in all this, so I give them props. But

(06:45):
the thing is, and my ultimate point is this, a
live voice in voiceover is much better than something from
eleven Labs or Hume AI or whatever else or Gemini
or COPEI. It's just you're not going to get the
emotion from the electronic AI and eleven Labs and Hume

(07:10):
and all these other ones that are out there now
are trying to manipulate the algorithms. So it sounds real
emotional interactive. So we need more people to push these
ideas into companies. Look, you basically use me as a

(07:34):
voiceover person to do your ads or to do whatever
it is you need to do. Because just like you,
mister businessman, I got to make a living, Okay, So
if you want to say screw you, I can do
it for this and pay you know, ninety percent or less,

(07:55):
you know, and just use one of these artificial intelligence
platforms to do I adds if you're gonna tell me that, yeah,
go ahead and do that. I really think that in
my from my particular perspective, Yes, we need to change

(08:17):
the landscape of entertainment. Now I've seen Now let me
also say this, and this is crucial to my point.
I've seen videos created by AI, and believe me, you
cannot tell in some cases whether or not the person

(08:42):
you're seeing in that video is real or created by AI.
To me, that is scary. That is very scary. Okay, Now,
that can be done in many different ways. I've also
seen videos in the last several weeks where you know,

(09:03):
this person, you know, you have a a let's just say,
part of a video, a segment of a video where
you see like some celebrity or the president or whatever
saying something, and then that video goes to something else,
but you still hear the voiceover of that person talking
and it seems to be the president or the celebrity

(09:26):
or whoever. And you know, just by listening to the
nuance that it's created by artificial intelligence, that it's not real. Okay. Now,
I without going into detail, I believe that those videos

(09:48):
need to be taken down. I do because of the
time and effort that it takes for me to do,
you know, to read lines in a script that I have,
and to edit it and to put it together and
to put it out for you guys at New West

(10:09):
Radio Theater. That takes time and it takes a lot
of my resources to do that. But the fact of
the matter is is that when a person can just
go into their you know, app on their computer or
tablet or whatever they're using and just create something in
ten minutes that takes me over an hour and a

(10:31):
half to create. Where's the worth in the product? What
is it worth to the viewer or to the listener?
What is it worth to them? Well, I don't know.

(10:52):
You're going to have to tell me. But the fact
of the matter is is that actors and content creators
take the time and effort and the resources to create
something that's entertaining, enlightening or educational, and by somebody else
down the street that says, screw those voice actors. I'm

(11:13):
just gonna do it here with this product, and I
can do it in less time, and I can do this.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Really really.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
How much time? Well it's not so much time. How
much value do you put in your business? How much
value do you put into your business? You're there every day,
you open up the doors every day, you turn on

(11:47):
the lights every day, you talk to your employees every day,
and if you don't, then you're a bad leader. Because
the value that you put into your business results in
the people identifying with that business and wanting to come

(12:09):
there all the time. That's the same principle in content creation.
We spend time creating it, putting it together, writing a script,
getting people together. All of this, you know, or even
if I have to do, you know, parts of an
ad or something that I want to create for my
own shows, I have to do that. It takes time,

(12:33):
but I'm putting value into that. I'm putting what I
believe is valuable into that creation. What's the result, I'm
asking you business owners out there, what is the result.
Is the result you get more people coming to your

(12:54):
place of business, or is the result your employees being
much happy and having more incentive to help you keep
your doors open. I want to apply that to voiceover actors.
We have to keep the lights on in the studios
we are in our home studios, just like this one

(13:14):
here at New West Radio Productions where I'm at right now.
We have to pay for certain music or certain music beds,
or sound beds or sound effects. Regarding New West Radio theater,
It's all going to take some sort of resource. So

(13:36):
what value do I place into that? My smile on
the face when I see emails from people telling me
how good of a show I've done, or asking me
about the subject matter that I'm talking about in my
current events podcast. It's the same thing that an actor

(13:58):
of you know, like myself, who's spent many years on stage.
It's the same feeling I get when I walk out
to meet the crowd with the rest of the ensemble
of the cast and we're all shaking hands. I see
smiles on their faces and that makes me incredibly happy. Okay,

(14:21):
so where is your value, mister and missus business owner?
Where is your value? At what point did you devalue
your company? If you had done that by not hiring

(14:44):
voice actors to do ads for you, you're pretty much
creating a chasm where potential outweighs your value. Now why
do I say it that way? It could be the

(15:05):
other way around. I mean, however you want to look
at it. But why do I say it in that way?
I say it in that way because on one side
of the chasm, on the opposite side of where you are,
you see a bunch of people looking for work, looking
to have their talents and experienced or their experiences pardon me,

(15:30):
applied to something that number one they love and number
two could help you, And therefore you're pushing them completely
out of your way, when, in fact, where is your
value for their experience. It boils down to this, and

(15:59):
this is where I want to make my point and
then get out of here. It boils down to this,
and I speak for myself, not for anybody else, not
for any other voice actor or content creator. I value
the time I spend in the studio. I value my

(16:20):
time typing up, writing up and developing scripts for either
one acts or monologues or scripts for four serieses that
I'm working on right now, four projects that I'm working
on right now, plus two two act plays. I value

(16:46):
that time. I value that experience I have. Now what's
going to come of it, I don't know yet, but
it's worth some thing. So you businesses out there that
are advertising on local radio or local TV consider hiring

(17:10):
voice actors. There are reasonable rates. I'm sure mine is reasonable.
Just email me and ask me. I'm or't happy to
tell you what it is. It's I'm not out to
break your advertising budget, all right, but that's me. The

(17:31):
fact of the matter is, just like you, we have
to work and we have to make a living. So
I encourage you businesses out there to hire voice actors.
Don't use eleven labs, don't use speech alone, don't use
any of those, don't just stop at stop using them.

(17:57):
Hire voice actors because we'll give you the better deal.
I can only speak for myself. I can't speak for
any of them, but I can give you a deal
which is going to benefit you, a great deal, you
know what I'm saying. Whatever I can do for you
to help you, that's where my experience is. So email

(18:26):
me email address in the show notes and let me know,
let me know what you think. And you don't have
to hire me right now. Please consider it, but you
don't have to. Just let me know what you think
about what I just said right now. All right, that's
all I want to know. That's all I want to know.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Folks. You guys rock man.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
You guys are awesome. Each and every day. I appreciate
the fact that I walk into this studio and give
you something, give you a heads up on what's going on,
give you some ideas for later on, or tell you
give you some announcements as to what I'm doing. I've
said it before. I've got four projects I'm working on,
and I've got two act plays i'm working on. So yeah,

(19:12):
I'm quite busy. So but I'm not gonna be around
over the weekend because I'm gonna be gone. I'm not
gonna go into detail. I'll just say I'm gonna be
away from the studio for quite some time. Hopefully on
Monday I can drop back in and give you an update. Okay,
you guys, rock Man, You guys are awesome as always.

(19:34):
Have a great day, have a great week, and I'll
talk to you next week.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Have a nice day, stick it ever.
