(00:00):
I'd just like to apologize on behalfof the No One AS's Talking team that
there was no September monthly show,as it was a very hectic month for
myself and the two panelists that wehave on. This is October's monthly show
and we'll be back for the nextmonthly show in November. Come Ony Lines,
Hi, Bethany Mantalo here, youhave joined us for the magnificent monthly

(00:21):
Millwell Podcast, which features thoughts fromthe panel about what affects the beautiful game
and Millwell Enjoy. Hello everyone, and welcome to this season's second Normal Access
Talking's monthly show. I'm your host, Mars Thornton, and with me I
have the Noman Access Talking team ofPhil Coleman and Ted Robinson. Not everybody

(00:44):
likes them, but they don't care, even in Phiel, even in Ted.
How are we all? Yeah?Great? Thanks you evings Phiel.
Okay, first of all, we'llstart off any shocks so far for you
this season. We'll talk about playerslater, but feel for now, any
shocks that so far this season inthe league. I'd probably suggest I'm shocked

(01:10):
at Middlesbrough have only won one gameand commentary both in the playoffs last year
until commentary won. I think theywon last night. Perhaps they've lost some
players during the summer, perhaps theinjuries, but those two I would have
thought would have been certainly in thetop half. And Southampton I would have
thought they'd been up there along thesides of along the likes of Leicester and

(01:32):
Leeds and those with big budgets, probably Sunderland and a nicely surprised really present
a bit of a surprise. Notso ch which just up the road from
me and originally over twenty eight thousand, which is amazing. So yeah,
the shocks his early days. Thirtyeight games left, but I would have

(01:56):
thought Middlesbrough would have got off toa better start. I would wouldn't write
them more for at all. Andthe Southampton I'm not sure why they're struggling
a little bit, but yeah they'rea little surprises early days. Yeah,
agree with you there, Phil tedas An If it surprised you, well
what one shot. I'll get overto Phil quickly. Commentary drew last night,
mate, others Field scored in theninety fifth minute. I turned off.

(02:19):
I turned off by that, right, Tody guy. It was only
I've read a paper this morning andshook myself. But yeah, because dips
Darren Moore's first game, and yeahthey equalized in the ninety fifth minute.
But yeah, I mean there's lotsof surprises in the Championship. There always
always is. I mean on Saturday, sitting there watching the West Brom game
and up comes Plymouth four norwiche neilin the first half. I mean,

(02:45):
you know what a shot that wasthat after Ryan Lowe had said in the
week that these team were a disasterwhere they was playing. And then Rotherham
who looked at poor side against us, whether it was us being that good,
I don't know that they hold Prestonwho had been flying. You know,
shocks and surprises happened all the timein the Championship. But feels right.
Middlesborough, who I think it wouldhave been a lot of people's tip

(03:06):
to have had another real go atit this year and Southampton in particular both
surprised me because you look at someof the quality in Southampton's side, I
can't believe that they're going to keepgoing the way that they're going. It
just doesn't sort of don't make senseto me. But you know, the

(03:29):
usual suspects are up there, Lester, and I for one agree with Phil.
I'm not surprised about it, whichthey had a lot of momentum coming
into this season after the way thatthey performed last year. So I'm not
surprised there, and I'm not surprisedthat Leeds is pushing up the table now.
Neither are after seeing them the otherweek. But yeah, that to

(03:51):
me is the Championship shocks and surprisesweek in week out. We'll take a
break there and for now let's listento Stan Gogin and myself talking about called
non league side Burnsey Town Foot ClubBirmsey Town. You heard of them,

(04:13):
but what about them? They're afootball club based in robert I. They're
currently members of the Kent Football LeaguePremier Division and play at the Saint Paul
Sports Grand Road. The ground sharewith Fisher on matchdays. It's where the
Millwall Lionesses, Romans and Pride playeron Sundays. Oh yeah, I know.
Well if Millwall are why I'll getalong. Check out the fixtures and

(04:35):
details on the Burnley Town website.I will. I will give it a
go. I'm your host, MilesThornton and with me, the no one
likes his talking team of Phil Colemanand Ted Robinson make sure to get down
to Burnleytown FC if mill aren't playingor are away. Their next home game

(04:59):
is a s I've long derby againstPeckham Town FC on Tuesday, October the
tenth, with a seven forty fivekickoff at Saint Paul Sports Grounds, so
I was opening at six forty five. In the summer, Millwill signed Arsenal
teenager up Brook Norton Coffee on loanfrom the Gunners for the season. News
at Den was reporting saying the passionof Millill's fan base also had a part

(05:20):
to play in convincing the teenager thatthe Den was the right place for him
this season. In an interview givento News at Den Norton, Cuffee said,
the project that they have going onhere last season and the season before
that, they've really been pushing.I spoke to the coaching staff and they
put up a diagram for me ofmy game and where they thought I could

(05:40):
improve. And once I saw that, I said I can't really turn this
down. He went on to say, I feel like my development plans hey
here have clear goals and things Ihave to do and achieve. He finished
his interview by adding, when Igo on loan, I look at it
as I want to win as manygames as possible. Firstly, I want

(06:00):
to help the team to achieve asmuch as possible, and then I have
to look at my own development asI want to be the best player I
can be. Phil from you fromyour perspective as an ex professional playoff and
going out on loan in your career, So I believe Wrexham. What do
you think? What do you Whatdo you think about this approach? I
think it's a great approach. Mytime being loaned down to Wrexham is a

(06:23):
story in itself. I was suspendedand a young apprentice kept me out of
the game. Ye had a coupleof good games while I was suspended.
So I had a choice playing thereserves until I'm on the place back,
playing a place like new Market,or find a loan. So I went
on loan to Rexam for a monthand it ended up fight months. Great

(06:44):
experience, but you go straight intothe first team and there's expectations on you
to be better or dominant or whateverit is. Experienced, but it's not
easy fitting in new training, newtactics, new teammates away from home and
you're expected to make that immediate impact. But I learned a lot from that

(07:04):
and one of the things I didpick up I was only twenty three twenty
four years old when I went onloan. I'm helping out younger players who
are in the team at the time, so you're either a better player or
you're an experienced player. Loans greatfor the club, no transfer fees.
There's a dig on the wages normallyfifty percent. It can be that you

(07:26):
pay nothing for a loaning. Butwhat we will have done recently they provided
a great opportunity in a really toughleague to allow players to come in gain
valuable experience. We've had all thecenter backs Ballard and Crosswell and now Brooks
come in and they've all contributed tothe team. It showcases their talent.

(07:47):
It's far better for them playing thanin the under twenty ones or even training
with the first team. They're notgetting the game, and I think Gary
Rowit and his team deserve an awfullot of credit for a identifying the likes
of brook and Norton Coffee and alsoplaying them, fitting them into a good
side so their talent ID have recognizedthat. But Ballard Crosswell and the Norton

(08:11):
Coffee are good enough to play Millsfirst team in a really tough, challenging
championship to standard of football, soa fair play. They did their homework
on him, they fed back tohim and he's taking up the challenge.
And I've only seen highlights of him, but he looks a very talented young
player. Difficult to understand he's playingin that level as a teenager. Ted

(08:33):
as a fan, does that fityour expectations in the club? Oh,
I've got to be honest, Miles, I don't think if you'd have put
a few heads together and say, look, we wanted to send out a
message to the fans about yourself anddo you want to be I don't think
you could have done it any better. He starts out by saying about the
passion of Millwalls fan base, whichwe all likes it here and we all

(08:56):
know about and whatever. But thenwe go to the dut of it when
he says the project they have beengoing on here and last season and season
before that they've really been pushing.I spoke to the coaching staff. They
put up a diagram of my gameand where they thought I could improve.
So they've not only sort of soldhim what they're trying to do at at
Millwall, but they've also sold himwhat they're trying to do for him as

(09:18):
a player, getting him to bethe best player that he can, because
he says himself that's what he wants. All the things that Norton Cuffey has
said there is what you want tohear from a young lad who's starting out
and trying to prove himself to people, that this is the boy that's already
proved himself really last year by gettingto the playoff final with commentary. But

(09:39):
he wants to improve again, hewants to develop himself again. And I
think feel quite right he just saidhe's got bags and bags of potential and
I don't think we've seen the bestof him by far at the moment.
And he hasn't been bad. He'sbeen pretty good since you come here.
But there were signs there on Saturdayto me that he's really beginning to feel

(10:01):
at home. And I think we'reyet to see the best of Norton Caffee
and I certainly believeieve that for thisseason we got one hell of a player
on our ends and for future seasons. If he stays at Arsenal, I
think Arsenal will have end of aplaying arounds, and he's got all the
right attributes and he's got all theright attitude. I think, as I

(10:24):
say, we're going to see alot more of Norton Caffee, and I
believe it generally will get better andbetter. I totally agree to because I
know. My first month, Iliterally drove up to Wrexham four hours drive.
I didn't know any of the teammatesnames. I trained on Friday morning
and I played with him on Saturdayafternoon. But in my second month,

(10:48):
if it was more flut, Igot to know the place. I got
to know that the business of whattime we trained, how we trained,
what we've got to do. Thethird month, I was flying. In
my fourth month, I just wantedto stay there because I was embedded in
the team, knew everything, kneweverybody. So I believe with his talent
and his attitude, he will getbetter and better as he settles in and

(11:09):
jails. So yeah, you're deadright. It will be a very good
player by the look of it.That's a real point. I was saying
to someone on Saturday fielder. WhenI look at this team, it's a
new team. You know, You'vegot do Noray and Campbell in the middle
of the park there all of asudden, got Norton Coffee out wide.
You've got Longman on the other sideand that. And listen, they're playing

(11:31):
well enough as it is, butI'm sure, as you quite rightly said,
as it goes on further and further, the more they play with one
another, the better they get.Even Kevin this bit and Tom Bradshaw were
beginning to actually link up a bitmore in the game against Rotherham. So
I mean it's a newish team Millwall, and I think we just need to

(11:52):
be a little bit patient because it'sgoing to get better and better. And
Norton Cuffee is certainly one that Iexpect to see even better one which is
coming out in the future. Totallyagree said. And those players you mentioned
they are championship players. They arequality championship players. And as I say,
coming down to South East London,Jellings settling in playing as they have

(12:15):
to do with each other, gettingused to it all. Ye a bit
of patients and hopefully they will comeright. They right to the top.
We'll take a short break there andlisten to our sponsor and great friend of
the show, Dean Wilson and theDean Males from it. Your funeral directors

(12:37):
are famed for caring for mill families. Where are you located and how far
afield if you travel to accommodate theneeds football families. Well, we've got
two branches, the main ones inElton in Wilhall Road and we've got another
one in locks Bottom which is nearOrpington Mill fans around us. We cover
all areas and we do travel forfamilies. We had a lady very recently

(12:58):
that passed away up north, butit was always to come back to South
London for a funeral, so that'swhat we did. We went up to
Sheffield and we brought it back.We quite often carry out funerals and meal
families all over South London and Kentright down to the South coast. Dean
Wilson Independent Family Funeral Directors Karen formill will families no matter how near or

(13:20):
far, should you need them atany time, bring to eight three three
one one one one one. That'sa three three one one one one one.
I'm your host master Thaornton and withme I have the nom NT talking
team of Ted Robinson and Phil Coleman. Thanks very much to Dean Wilson for

(13:43):
sponsoring our our monthly show. Sothen people are still saying the injury to
Sean Hutchinson brings the issue of defensivedepth and obviously Murray Wallace this morning on
the day of recording, it's beenfud out that he's also injured now as
well. Who he sets me upfor a few weeks I believe it is.

(14:07):
We'll start with Ted could this Itmay prove to be one of a
couple of mistakes in anotherwise brilliant transferwindow bring not bringing in another center back?
Will it or won't it? Listen, The bottom line of something like
this, Miles is we're all bettermanagers in hindsight. And we I mean

(14:28):
when Gary row And turned around andsaid I've got well five center rafts if
you include Ryan Leonard and he's bearingin mind, is that Wes Halding here
for the best part of a monthnow and he hasn't had a game yet.
There was strength in depth, butobviously injuries is something nobody can plan

(14:50):
for. The only thing I'd saywith me all, and it's a regular
thing that they do, and I'llsort oft forget why they do it.
They always have a tight knit squadof a certain number. They won't go
splashing out on players that they thinkare going to be sitting around and not
being involved for a whole season becauseat the end of the day, unfortunately,

(15:11):
it all comes back down the money. If we had a potless not
potlus if we had a pot thatwas full of money rather than a potless
pot, if you know what Imean, there'd be loads of players here
that we could just throw out onloan and let them go out here and
there and whatever. Bit like yourchelseas do, your men zities do.
We haven't got that. We canonly go to the budget that we are

(15:31):
given. And that's why I thinkhe tries to get the balance for out
the side and nobody's I mean, the things most sort about the defense.
We've had the same sort of thingunfortunately happening upfront. It looks like Tom
Bradshaw might be out now. Wedon't know whether Kevin this bit's going to
be fit again. They're are twomain strikers. So listen, sometimes in

(15:52):
football your lucks out and at thismoment in time, and we've been here
before with millwall At the moment intime, we've got a few injury and
the luck is out. Yet peoplecould turn around and say, listen,
this has got to stop. Theremust be something wrong at training. And
as I can see it, mostof these things are happening during matches.
You know, Hutchinson was in thegame, Murray Wallace took a not during

(16:15):
the game. Dradshaw was taking hisdoor and name Kevin this bit fell over
his own feet and twisted his ankle. But it happens, unfortunately, and
the thing is what you have todo is dust yourself down, get on
with it, and deal with it. We've got a game coming up on
Saturday. We've still got three centerrams that we can pick. He may
go with a back four because we'veonly got three center ralps. But Gary

(16:37):
Rowit will adjust himself a cording leaguewith a squad that he's got. And
it's easy to turn around and say, yeah, we should have got someone
in and things like that. Butat the time and at the start of
the season, you know, Itend to believe we've Gary Rowit and I
still believe that we've got a bettersquad now than we had last season.

(16:59):
And I think that that's all youcan expect. Really. Yeah, agreed.
What about you feel anything to addor explain more detail? Yeah,
totally agree with Ted. There isa better squad, that's a fact.
The players that went and the playersthat are coming, they look infinitely better
this year. And fair player Garylle he's built that team almost. He's
got better players in If you saidto anybody before the first league game of

(17:23):
the season, we have six centerbacks, including Ryan Leonard, including Alex
Mitchell, who looks a good prospect, two right backs and two left backs.
That is ten defenders in the squad. And I say Leonard they could
play, Billy Mitchell could play probablyright side for forward. That is a
good number. They are good numbers, and you're not overloading the budget with

(17:45):
too many center backs. Don't forget. You've got to try and keep them
more happy. Alex Mitchell has goneout on loan. Perhaps in the circumstances
in his contracts, can he berecalled? But the manager cannot never unless
you man city cover every eventuality.Given the budget and the squad size,
as Ted said, the budget isnot infinite, it's limited. And to

(18:07):
say there's six center backs and fourfall backs at the start of the season,
you'd have bit your hand off forthat. And there's good strength and
depth there. There's experienced players there, there's some younger players there, and
there's it also might be a goodchance for the for the players like on
the bench, hard Into and someof the younger players might even get their

(18:30):
chance as well. So injuries doactually provide chances for other players to come
in. So yeah, you can'tyou cannot force the injuries, but if
they're all fit, there's great competitionfor places as well as say, you
know, it's a competition now withbrook Norton Coffee comany in for Billy Mitchell
and those two are going to findit out. When Brian's fit again,

(18:51):
he'll be at the left hand sidefighting for his place. So it's good
competition. It's just unfortunate, asTed said, you get injuries you cannot
foresee who with but you have tolearn to deal with it. And I'm
sure the loan market, if it'sstill available, might be an option.
Recalling Alex Mitchell might be an option. Planning two center backs playing people that

(19:12):
position, as Leonard has proven morethan adaptable, So there are options,
even though there's a few injuries. There's one thing I will say, Myles
regarding obviously there's some people we've beentalking about the goalkeeping situation because Sarge has
got himself injured and whatever, andsome people have even said why haven't why

(19:33):
did he let George Long go?Where the simple facts are he let George
Long go, I'll say he lettinggo. I think it was more of
a case of George Long wanting togo because there was a few people in
this club, not in this club, but so cool fans of this club
that their treatment at George Long wasabsolutely disgusting and the guy has probably fought
to himself enough's enough and I'm off. And in that case, we went

(19:56):
out and bought a new goalkeeper. So it's not a matter of letting Long
go when we could have kept himand bolts archics as well. The fact
is it was a straight swap ina sense from a goalkeeper that didn't want
to be here so the one thatdid. So you know, some of
these people that write these things andsay these things about players, and then

(20:17):
you know the next breath of turnaround and say, why does he letting
go. Well, sometimes these players, quite rightly in my opinion, turn
around and say I've had enough ofyou. I don't need to take this.
I'm off. You know that peopleshould really sort of think about that
before they start complaining. Once theyhave gone that, they might have left
theirselves a bit short. Are goingagreed ed in this current day and Age

(20:41):
Long would have spoken to his agentand if he's not happy, and listen,
I played, and I knew wheremy fan club was in yourverty commas,
I knew where they were abusing me. And if it gets to you,
you speak to your agent and yousay what's available incomes knowledge, probably
doubled his wages and he's gone freshslate, goodbye, all the best.
But I'll say this, in professionalfootball clubs, every manager and every part

(21:07):
of the scouting system they target playersfor just that eventuality. Way earlier.
They would have had Sarkis lined upprobably a year ago at least, just
in case, and they left thatfor every position on the pitch, they
will have a list of targets thatthey would go for if he goes,
if he's sold, if he's injuredfor a year, and they've obviously had
the guy lined up the injury forstart. It is unlucky. But what

(21:30):
we will say, manage to seeplayers in training every single day and they
know if they're up to scratch, fit, capable, confident, and Gary
Row it looks like he's happy withBart as an interim while sar Kis has
gone injured and why Long's gone completelyso particularly Bart's experience. You know,
the bloke has been around a goalkeepingin the penalty area long enough and I

(21:55):
would, as I say, GaryRow, it would be more than happy
with him coming in to so Kitchis back from enjoying. There's no doubt
my man, My mind felt thatyou know, Bart's a good keeper.
I mean it's only a year ortwo ago. People were saying why on
earth as Gary Rout dropped him forGeorge Long, you know, and I
said at the time, where it'sopinions and exactly what you just said.

(22:18):
He sees George Long day in dayout on the training pitch and for whatever
reason, yes, George Long,we all fought and because you could see
it out on the pitch that GeorgeLong he's kicking and his ability on the
football with bough at his feet wasbetter than Bart's But if you ask my
opinion at the time, when GeorgeLong came in, I thought Bart was

(22:38):
about a shot stop. But soyou know, there swings are roundabouts there
and again people say one thing andthen in the next breath they're saying something
else. Bart made a good saveon on Saturday. He was one of
the ones that hit the bar.I think he would have tipped over if
it was just below. He neverlet us down. He's a good,

(23:02):
experienced goalkeeper, and maybe him beingout for a best part of a season,
perhaps he needs a few games tothrow a little bit of rust off
of him. But I've got nodoubts that Bart won't let us down,
that's for sure. So bartlet hascome in and he will need three or
four games to get up to notmatch speed, but match sharpness. The

(23:22):
ball flying at you at sixty milesan hour. Sometimes that doesn't happen in
training, you know, unless he'sgot a horrible coach. He's actually firing
a minute horrible. So he needsthat match awareness and that match sharpness.
He will pick that up because ofhis experience. Some fans they created a
hero out of John Jackson. NowI played in front of Jacko and he

(23:44):
was thirty eight years old. Yeah, and he was diving around that.
But what he did he bossed. He absolutely bossed the back four, He
bossed the whole team. To behonest with you, he got everybody marking.
He told defenders where it was goingto happen before it happened. And
Bart will be doing that, butwill have been there seeing it and done
it, and he will be passingit on telling everybody where to go where
his younger goalkeepers they sometimes don't havethat dominance of the year. They don't

(24:07):
have that experience of what's coming, and you just have a based on experience
that you know, Jacko knew exactlywhere the fellow was going to run,
he knew where the shot was goingto go, he knew where the fellow
was going to cross it. AndI see a lot in part of that.
That experience is absolutely gold dust.In the last two games with Hag
clean sheets Peel. So that tellsyou something. You know, as you

(24:30):
say, I'm sure Bart with hisexperience and will let them know in front
of him, and I say,I, for one, don't think it
let us down. It is unfortunate. I was looking at him as a
key when he looked the part tome and I thought we was just settling
down again in the team and whatever, and it's unfortunate, but that's football,

(24:52):
as they say, isn't it.Yeah, yeah, I totally agree
with both of you there. Now, then let's go on to the topic
of Gary Rowitt and his relationship withrecently with Millwall fans this season. He
started to get a lot of hate, a lot of hate after the game,
not even just after the game againstNorwich, a couple of other games

(25:14):
as well, I think where welost three one bearing in mind we haven't
actually won at Cara Road since Ibelieve the sixties. So I personally thought
it was an over reaction from thefans. They were being really really abusive
with something, some of the thingsthey were saying on social media, and
they've been they've been saying things likewe are not going to get anywhere with

(25:34):
Gary Rauitt, boring football and defensivetactics. Okay, then let me tell
you some interesting facts about row Itin his football, shall we. Gary
Rowit kept us up in this leagueand the top end for four years.
Against the odds. It was GaryRowit who's in charge for the middle of
the game. It was Gary Routwho signed most of those better players and
over four years and fans think theywere great signings. It was Gary Rawitt

(25:56):
who got us within one game withthe playoffs. It was Gary Rowe who
bodied top youngst, blooded, topbloodied top youngsters. He didn't body them,
Gary Rowit does change formation and tactics. Gary rowitz players and rotates the
players to stop them burning out.Gary Rawitt plays the low market very well.

(26:17):
We've seen that with Britt Norton Coffee, Ryan Longman as well and Alan
Campbell and other players like bad Ard. He's honest with his appraisals of performances.
He's got a good win ratio andaverage crowds have gone up under Gary
Raut with plenty of sellouts, butwith many of our online support base want
attractive football, winning every game andpromotion and against the likes the Leeds,

(26:38):
Leicester, Norwich, West brom andall that money wages in quality amongst them
teams. Wow, Phil, whatdo you make of this situation? I
think what you said there, GaryRowit's achievements far out. Why are any
of the negatives somebody's blown out ofall proportion I don't get it. Since

(27:00):
when the fans, when the fanshave a bo a defeat, Since when
there's a defeat a catastrophe. Iget every fans got an opinion, but
the some of the negativity and theslagging off of the manager and some of
the players are being made a scapegoatas soon as they have a couple of
bad games. It doesn't do anygood at all, no good whatsoever.

(27:21):
Trust me from first and experience,I had plenty of it in my time
at the Den. It doesn't helppros get on with it. Fans will
say I pay my money if theydon't put a shift in that, I'm
you titled and boom and slag themoff. Yeah you can, but it
doesn't do any good. And bythe way, I ain't forgot. I
haven't forgot that. Annas me,brother, we both know exactly the what

(27:41):
sections of the crowd are slagging usoff. Does no good at all.
You called a supporter for a reasonyou support. No team is going to
win every game. Teams are goingto draw, they're going to lose.
And also, I want to knowwhat exactly is attractive football? Is it
the tippy tappy stuff we see inthe Premier League. Is that what everybody
wants? Is it route one thatwimbled and produced in the eighties, boot

(28:06):
it up? The fashion you knockeverybody about and try and steamroll people.
Is it all out attack? Well, that's whiskey, particularly against the lights
of Leeds. You've got forty millionparachute payments and players that are far better
than anything else. So I don'tunderstand what attractive football is because in professional
football you rarely get an easy game, particularly in the Championship. You might

(28:30):
get a game where you're so ontop and so dominating that you can play
football how you want because you're fivenil up and you're basically taking a pee
out of the opposition. But thatdoesn't happen in the Championship. It doesn't
happen in many professional football games. But attractive football, no, It's about
winning points however you can, andsometimes it's ugly. Sometimes you'll beat Robin

(28:56):
Free nil. Sometimes your nick adraw at West Brom. Sometimes you'll get
beat when the last thing you're expecting. I remember Huddersfield last year won near
the Den. I think we hadninety percent posision and they had one breakaway
and scored, but that's what Huddersfielddid. They set up to muggas.
I'd also say we need to takethe big Dosa realism. It is the

(29:17):
big tablet coming in. We gotto close to the playoffs last year and
it's it's over expectations based on lastseason. As I say, there's no
easy game in the Championship. Alot of teams are richer. They've got
bigger budgets, they got better players, they've got strong and bigger squads.
Some have just come out in thePremier League without forty million parachute to keep
the likes of Jamie Vardy at Leicesterin a league where everyone can beat everyone.

(29:42):
So give credit to the opposition. They do their analysis, they send
scouts. They tried to stop usplaying. They know our strengths. They
stopped the ball game at the FlemingThey know where Bradshaw is going to run
and then they tried to expose ourwitnesses. So this is professional football and
you've got to try and find away of winning points. And Gary Row

(30:04):
has proven that. We are inthe Championship for several seasons and we've been
in the top half and we've beenseventh, we've been eighth. I'd say
that is success, and if it'sit's ugly because the lead below you will
not be getting eighteen thousand sellouts,no chance. So staying in this league
has got a bit the priority whilstimproving the squad, winning the games,

(30:27):
drawing, losing, but staying inthe league for me and keep building.
And certainly Gary Wrout has brought inbetter players in every single close season.
He does change his tactics, hedoes look at ways to win. He
has shored up to try and keepthe points when he's been under pressure.

(30:48):
Interestingly, here's one for you.We will one kneel down to Leeds and
he put on some stubs to tryand get the game back Upoluately we got
done on the counter attack. Butif he'd done nothing and we'd have lost
one nil, I suggest a fewfans would have still slacked him off.
So he's trying to be proactive andit's wrong. If he does nothing,
he is wrong. So the lifeof a manager. But he takes it.

(31:11):
It's waterfordats back to him. Isprofessional football, and I say it's
still early in the season. I'vegot an old saying in football it's a
marathon, not a sprint. We'veonly got thirty eight games left. Seems
like we've been going forever. Butto those of you who want the young
players on the pitch every week aswell, the league, this league in

(31:33):
particular, is so tough. Ikeep saying it's the best Level two in
the whole world, and it candestroy young players. They might have ability,
they might have paced, but dothey understand the toughness of the league,
the teams they're playing. So whatyou do is what Gary Route is
doing. He brings them on tothe bench. He gives him the last
ten minutes, he gives him twentyminutes, he gives him behalf, he
pulls him out completely. He's developingthem slowly so they stay confident they're not

(31:57):
going to struggle with things like defeat, being covering and knowledge of the game.
But he's trust me. Too manykids in one team and you get
done, You get relegated, asI found out when I was eighteen nineteen
years old. So personally, Ithink Gary Rout is doing a good,
solid job. He's kept us inthe league. He's built a stronger squad
and he gets results. And ifthat's unattractive, then I'll set up for

(32:21):
it all day because you could playattractive football and get beat and get relegated
and you won't be getting Half ofthe teams coming down to Leeds United will
be replaced by some of the teamsin Division one. So yeah, I
don't understand what attractive football is,but we need to find ways of winning
points at the moment. I thinkGary Raw does that quite well. Definitely,

(32:43):
Ted. I know you are notkeen on reading social media, Convince,
but Flynn Fraser summed up the thoughtsof many. He said, I
support Gary Rauitt. I think he'sthe right manager long term, and I
think the toxic's criticism worse than Hollowayor low Mass ever got towards him completely
unwarranted. I think most of uscan't be bothered with the barrage of abuse

(33:05):
anyone gets from vocarious group of socalled supporters. Vaciferous. That's it.
What'd you make it? That met? Well? Yeah, I mean Fiel
mentioned it in what you were saying. You know you're here to support the
club and what I don't everybody's intitledin their opinion when it comes to football,

(33:27):
because you know, if everybody hadthe same opinions of football, we
will be the wonderful game that weall love. And I either way that
we play. Like Phil was pointingout, you know, wimbled and got
theirself at the top tier of footballby playing a certain brand of football.
And there's nobody on earth that canturn around and say that wasn't a great
style of football because it worked forWimbledon. So it's not all about one

(33:49):
way of playing and all that sortof stuff. You there's lots of different
ways. But what I can't accept, certainly from our own fan base,
is this extremist views or opinion iseither way. In other words, we
lose one game, it sacked themanager, you know, without looking at
the game, and he's rubbish andall this old stuff that goes on and

(34:10):
that I was at Norwich and Ithought it was disgusting what they was showing.
It wasn't the sort of thing Iwant ever to hear being shattered at
my manager and even even Holloway. And no one was more angry with Holloway
than me. But at the endof the day, it didn't deserve that
sort of amount of abuse that wasbeing shattered across the picture. Gary rat

(34:34):
to a man, if you lookat his record against Holloway's or low Messes.
You know, I mean, let'sbe fair. If you look at
them records, Gary rat should bea god because he's been far better for
us than ev then. So that'swhat I don't like. It's the extremest
views. I don't ever get toocarried away when we beat Rotherin free nil.

(34:54):
But it was a good performance. You would see that. But the
same breath, I'm not going toturn on my own manager with the sort
of things that people were saying thatNorwedge. Everyone's you tellt with their opinion.
I said after the Norwedge game,we didn't play well. I thought
you made some mistakes in his lineup. I say he made mistakes. It's

(35:15):
not the sort of lineup that Iwould have started at Norwich. That's my
personal opinion, and you know wecan all add them opinions when it all
goes wrong. But in the samebreath, if Millwill had gone to Norwedge
and won, then you should begiving Gary Rowit the praise that he would
deserve. But if you're talking aboutI say Gary Raut. Overall all the

(35:37):
things that you just listed down weretrue about Gary Rowit, and some real
wolf fans that actually rubs them upthe wrong way when you start telling them
the things that I see and Ibelieve is a success. One has kept
us in this division for you know, the four seasons. As it's gone,
he's at us in the right endof the table. We haven't been

(35:58):
battling relegation even now with people oneand feel's right is a marathon. But
look at it. Let's we're twopoints off the playoffs. We're nearer to
the playoffs than we are to therelegation zone. And we're supposed to have
been according to some of these people, pretty crap and negative. Since it's
the heart of the season, We'llgive me crap a negative for the rest
of the season because if we're onlytwo points off the playoffs with three games

(36:20):
to go, I'll be a happybunny. You know. It's you've got
to be again. Like I think, Phil mentioned realist, a realist about
things. Don't get carried away emotionallywith one result. If you lose,
don't all of a sudden believe everythingis wrong because it is funny. How
to me, A lot of peopleget blinkered by the final score. In

(36:44):
other words, what I mean ifwe won a game one nil, but
we ain't been very good the peoplebecause we won one nil. He was
the greatest thing since list Bread. You know, look at it properly,
have reasonable opinions about it, andlook at it through clear eyes. Don't
get emotional about it and start saying, yeah, we've won one Neil,
we're going to win the league,or we've lost three Neil and we're going

(37:06):
down, because that's not football. It's a long way to go. Gary
Rowitt is a very good manager. It's proved at by keeping us where we
are in the division. And Iknow I've heard Peel say this. The
starting point at the start of theseason is staying in the league. And
I think no doubt in my mindthat this team will stay in the championship
for next season because I think weare good enough and better than last yield.

(37:31):
I think it's a stronger division thisyear, but I think we're still
good enough to be knocking on thedoor for the playoffs at the end of
the season. So you know, and fire with some of that criticism and
just see where we go. Ted, I've got another saying, until you've
watched in someone's shoes, go tothe training ground and become Gary Rowick for

(37:52):
a couple of weeks, and thendeal with the goalkeeper injury, deal with
Hutchinson injury, deal with your bestleft back for a long time, Brian
coming injured. And there's one ortwo other injured as well, and you've
got to try and bring these kidsthrough. And you've got new players coming
in, like the Norri Do Iplay him? Billy Mitchell or Savile?
Where do I do? I've gotto get rid of Volga Slammer. I'm

(38:13):
bringing in new players, and allof a sudden you certainly realize it's not
an easy job. It is notan easy job to pick a team.
And then you're getting all the informationfrom you analysts and scouts that have been
watching your position, and you're thinking, well, there's their strengths. We've
got to nullify that, and theseare our strengths, and we've got to
try and play to this. Andthen at half time the opposition have suddenly
nullified your strengths. They've stopped whatMoore's pace, but they're marking the two

(38:37):
strikers out of the game. Untilyou've been in someone's shoes, don't criticize
them. Have an opinion great, but don't criticize the bloke. He doesn't
go out there to lose a game. He goes out there to win points.
It goes out there to put thebest team available to him on the
pitch and find a way of gettinga point all three. And it's a
difficult job, and it's even worsein the Championship because it is so tough

(39:00):
and you're touched on it as halfthe teams have been in the Premier League
and they've probably still got two orthree years of parachute money to retain great
players. So it's been a toughstart because he's brought new players in,
they're still getting used to Southeast London, they're still getting used to the training
methods, they're still getting used toeach other. And then all of a
sudden you get a load of injuriesas well, and it'll be interesting to

(39:20):
see what Gary Rowit does. Butall things considered, he's done. He's
done a positive job the last fewyears and he's definitely definitely improved the standard
of the squad. Yeah, andhe's good for having players like Ryan Leonard,
who, let's face it, startedout as a midfield player. He
could fill in as a right back, and now I think he's found what
is probably his best position because he'sa center back that thinks like a midfield

(39:44):
player. You know, he's notafraid to run forward. We've also got
now we've got Ryan Longman, whereI noticed all those has been playing as
a left wing back for us inthese games, but they were told about
it. He could play anywhere upfront. So you know, who knows
that we might might see Ryan Longmanplaying up front on Saturday as we've got
Joe Bryan ready and fit again. And you know, he looks to me

(40:07):
like the sort of player that couldplay anywhere. And that's the beauty with
what Row it does with a squadthat he gets together. There's never really
too many positions that you can't feelwith the players that he's got, you
know what I mean, they don'treally have to play players out of position,
or there's players that can play invarious positions. And you know,

(40:28):
when you look at that is describingeverything you're saying there field where Gary Rout
goes to the training ground on aMonday morning, Tuesday morning, looks at
the injury list and the ones thatmay not be available to him and then
he has to plot that through forthe Saturday that's coming. It may not
be the best eleven he can putout there within the squad, but you

(40:50):
get an eleven out there. Andthis is the thing that I will say
with Gary Rout, and it iscredit to him, is that we have
always been competitive in this league, always been competitied in this division. There's
only one or two games where Ican remember us really getting beaten Norwich being
won this year. I think itwas commentary the other year where we really

(41:15):
didn't turn up. But that's twogames in four seasons that I can remember.
I'll take that every for the nextfour seasons, believe me, because
in this division, which is oneof the toughest, if not the toughest,
to get out without a doubt inthe world. But so yeah,
I wish people would just sit backand think a little bit about Gary Rare

(41:39):
and all these buses about negative footballand whatever. And I feel quite rightly
said what is attractive football? We'lltell you what's attractive football is winning football.
When you win football matches, that'swhat makes people walk home with a
smile on their face. And Garyrowit hasn't been too bad at doing that.
Yeah, it's professional football, teachMile. It's about winning games.

(42:00):
You know, you can be thegreatest attacking team and your bottom of the
league. So there is a balanceand something else I'd say as well,
the standard of football demands that thereis a bit of quality in the team.
I saw what more, skin thefallback and pull it back. I
also saw Fleming take a tack. These players have quality. Fleming is not

(42:22):
going to run around like Terry Hurlock, making tackles and killing people or trying
to win heaters. But give himthe ball on the edge of the box
and something will come off of abloke. Now sometimes nine or ten others
have to carry Fleming through his bitof quality that's going to win your game,
or a free kick or a decentcross or he lobs the keeper.
But don't expect quality players to belike this traditional Millwall player running around their

(42:45):
button. People that those days aregone. You work hard, you close
down, you win your challenges, you defend like kel, but you have
to have a little bit of qualityin the side. Is this bit is
it Fleming? Yeah? Probably becausethey will finish for you in a very
difficult league where you're playing against ex. Premier League defenders. You cannot add
bold standard players up front or thatis the toughest part of football, creating

(43:09):
and scoring goals. And in thisbitt and fleming you might have them,
but you have to understand the gamehas changed and some of the players are
quality, but they are not goingto be running and chasing fall back to
fall back lo a Kevin Bremner ora Terry Herlock. As I say so,
the game has changed and with thatthe understanding of a player's role has

(43:30):
to come into it for fans aswell. One hundred percent. We'll take
a short break there and listen toBethany Mantalo and Amon Barkley talking about clean
Feed. Bethany Mantalo here clean Feedby Ted Robinson. Oh now we're talking
about an online recording platform. Okay, our Ted Robinson sponsors are online clean

(43:55):
Feed recording platform. What were youthinging of? It sounded like a perfumed
on intense Really behave just go onlineand see who else uses clean Feed.
It's a great bit of kit ata great price. I'm your host,
Mars Thornton, and with me Ihave a no Likes talking team for the

(44:15):
monthly show. Team of Ted Robinsonand Phil Coleman. Ted, I love
that, and so you don't.I don't know whether it's the years on
the Beckham Neck have gone out orwhether I'm just cringing. I can't quite
work it out at the moment.I think I'll have to have a little
word with a script writer. Thoughwe have seen our team display varied performances

(44:42):
which has led to us in thewhich has led us into the top half
of the Championship table. Briefly, who at this earlier, at this early
stage of the season has impressed youthe most? Ted, what do you
think? Well, I think youhave to say Leeds were impressive. They're
there on the Sunday. They havegot quality. You know, they've got

(45:02):
a guy that's going to put theball in the back of it most weekends
I think in Peru. So yeah, I think they've got enough about them.
So certainly being the top six,if not challenging the top two,
Leicester have obviously got quality all overthem. I've been impressed with Itch,
which I say they have momentum whenthey come up and you know they may

(45:28):
take a little bit of knocking backsomewhere along the line to stop them.
From being up there. So yeah, I think them pre teams that teams
have impressed me so far this season, but listen, there's not much between
the majority of teams. I geta little bit mythed Like I was at
the weekend when West Brom didn't startwith Jed Wallace and Swift, I mean,

(45:54):
two of their best players. Iwas absolutely over the moon when I
say they was left out and plusthat they didn't impress me at all West
Brom really So there are a fewsides that are a little bit disappointing at
the moment. But in so FMand being another one and knowledge, I
don't know how or why they've droppedoff the way that they did, because

(46:16):
they looked pretty impressive when we playedthem, so well, I would say
the impressive side at the moment forme, probably because they've come up with
Zipswich Yeah definitely Phil, how aboutyou, Yeah, definitely Twhich. As
Ted said, they got the momentum. They've got a damn good manager and
he's played the market well. He'sbringing players in from Man United and averaging

(46:38):
twenty eight thousand, eight hundred crowds. That allows him to go and get
players in the next window. Andgood income to play those about the players,
how long would they last? It'sa tough league, It's a long
game. Impressed with Leeds. Ithought that their defense was very good and
obviously they've got pace on the counterattack. Seeing them on the TV a

(47:00):
few times and they just look sogood. They look like they could take
anybody apart at any time. Whetherthey're going to be that consistent, I
don't know. The surprise is wafted. I'm not sure where they're going.
I'm not sure what they're doing. They sign have their players on paper,
but you don't play football on paper, so they're struggling. And something you

(47:20):
said, who's impression at most?I took that males as our players,
so I'll just move on to ourplayer. I think Ryan Leonard Mile Football
closed a better team with him inthe team. I like the look of
Dani Brian looked good early on.We mentioned Young Brooke earlier in the show,
and I think Gary Rat might beplaying the long game and he keeps
these players fresh, so I'll expectthe impacts coming from the likes of Savile

(47:45):
and Billy Mitchell as the season goeson. So Impressed with Lemon Leonard and
knows those players I mentioned. Impressedwith Lester and Ipswich, but consistency,
you know, constantly winning and pickingup points. I'm not sure if it's
which can stack can to understand that, but I think Lester certainly came with
their backing, just the backfield upthere. I've been really impressed with Ryan

(48:07):
Longman, really impressed with him.I'm not sure why it didn't work for
him at the whole or why wholewanted to let him go, but here's
a guy that can go on hisright side. We see that with the
finish against Rotherham. He can goon the left side and put a crossover.
What I like about him is he'swhen he does get the chance,

(48:27):
he's very direct that he's not afraid. What we were talking about earlier,
where these sort of killer passes orputting dangerous balls into the box. It
seems to be what Ryan Longman's gameis all about. So I've been very
impressed with Ryan Longman. And youknow, and I'm still in best with
the two young legs in Maku andEssay. They've not been in the picture

(48:51):
so much of last week or two. Perhaps they might appear a bit more
on Saturday. But listen, wehave got two real gems there. I
think in them to within time.I think this time next season they think
will be the stars of our show. But at the moment, yeah,
let's keep them, you know, coming on in big parts. At the
moment, I feel saying earlier becausehe came ruined them getting them out there

(49:15):
too quick. But I just thinkthere's such quality in the two of them
that we've really unearthed two real gemshere. I'll take one Nam as well,
and I'll just keep a eye onhim because football's are bad connections.
And my son played for Talkie Uniteda few years back now and in his
early few days he played beside LeobroSenior and his dad Leroy was seeing he

(49:37):
was the manager and coach. Interestingto see that Lion Rassini has taken whole
up up the league and he musthave something about him and he's got a
way of coaching, because whole cityhas seemed to struggled last year, but
they seem to be doing quite well. So I'll just keep a what's forly
on hole because as say, we'reSenior is highly regarded as a coach and

(49:59):
he days there's only been eight games, but the whole seem to be in
a better position all around them lastseason without state in the obvious field,
it's consistency in it the whole.Look the good side that they do Plymouth.
You know one game they was goodand one came they weren't so good.
And that's the beauty with the championshipthat we all know everyone can beat
one another, but it's that sidethat can get that consistency going. You

(50:23):
know that's going to be there atthe end. I wouldn't rule out Middlesbrough.
They can have three wins on thespin quite easily. They've got a
great manager, they've got the financialbacking as well, they get big crowds
if they're doing well. So wouldnot rule out Mills brilliant anyway, shape
or form either. Well, lookthe Leeds are now field. Until they
played us, they was down inthe bottom six I think it was,

(50:44):
and then they're in the top sixand they've only had a run of three
games. It's so early in theseason that you go on a little run
of good results with two, three, four games and you'll find yourself at
the right end of the table. So, as you say, if Middlesborough
all of a sudden click, whichI've seen no reason why they shouldn't because
they've still got a few really goodplayers in there or pretty decent side once

(51:07):
it goes together. I don't knowwhat's gone wrong let's start with but as
you say, quite rightly, keepan eye on them because they could all
of a sudden and start climbing thattable. Yeah, take a break there
and listen to Dean Wilson once again. Thanks to them, to all sponsor
in the show and Dean Mars fromit. Your funeral directors are famed for

(51:34):
caring for mill families. Where areyou located and how far afield if you
travel to accommodate the needs foot offamilies. Well, we've got three branches,
the main ones in Elton in WelhallRoad and we've got another one in
locks Bottom which is near Orpington Millfans around us. We cover all areas
and we do travel for families. We had a lady very recently that passed

(51:54):
away up north but it was awish to come back to South London for
a funeral, so that's what wedid. We went out to Sheffield and
we brought it back. We quiteoften carry out Funerals and me all families
all over South London and ken rightdown to the South coast. Dean Wilson,
Independent Family Funeral Directors, Karen fromMillwall Families no matter how near or

(52:15):
far, should you need them atany time? Bring eight three to three
one one one one one. That'seight three three one one one one one.
I'm your host Master Thornton and withme are the Noel likes Is Talking
monthly show team of Ted Robinson andPhil Coleman. So then we're coming towards

(52:38):
the end of our second monthly showof the season. But let's talk about
rising prices in football and many thanksto Stan Godwin for giving me this bit
of information to add to the show. Premier League Clubs Season two Greed risks
pricing fans out for good or doesit? Will the Championship follow at a
lower cost to fans, but justas challenge for many. Seventeen out of

(53:01):
the twenty Premier League clubs have increasedtheir season ticket prices for the twenty twenty
three twenty four season, with NottinghamForest rising by twenty percent and Fulhams by
eighteen percent. The most expensive standardPremier League season ticket now costs at more
than one thousand pounds at a quarterof the clubs, with division's most expensive

(53:21):
in the riverside stand at Craven Cottageat an Eyewater in three thousand pounds,
Ted. Can you see this happeningin the Championship at a lower level of
expense but way beyond what is askedfor now? Well, I certainly hope
not for all sorts of reasons,Miles. You know, we all know
what where the money lies and wherethe money is annex within the Premier League.

(53:46):
But I wish I think we're gettingto a stage now, if I'm
honest that I think it's about timethat football clubs in general started put in
and it's sayings a real strange thingto say in lots of ways, but
I think the balance has to bereaddressed, start putting fans a little bit

(54:06):
before some of the players in thesense of the money that goes in the
players' pockets these days is phenomenal, absolutely unbelievable. But you can't in this
day and age expect you run ana mill fan to pay for that privilege
of having that player. What I'mtalking about, if you go to Chelsea

(54:27):
spend one hundred million or arsenal hundredmillion on one player. You know,
if you look at it in yearsgone by, the exceptional players that there
was mainly was played out of themany to come from the gate. Well,
now it's not impossible to match that. So what I'm saying is you
put someone somewhere in football needs tosay, look as wonderful as our game

(54:51):
is, it will be nowhere withoutthe fans. Because if you play in
an empty stadiums like we did inthe COVID period in time, we all
know I flat the football felt andlooked, and you could see it in
players a lot of times that youknow, you've got to have fans in
stadiums to get the atmosphere for whatfootball is really about. And it's a

(55:19):
problem that's slowly creeping in more andmore. I actually, funny enough,
I got a friend of mine whois a Fulham fan and went to go
and change his season ticket out ofJohnny Ainstand into the River Stand this year.
He said, I'd love to lookat the stand I wanted. I've
always wanted to be outside of it. I thought, now one I'll go
over there. As soon as yousee the price effect there was no way

(55:43):
that he was sitting there and hesaid to me, if that was the
price all around the stadium, Iwouldn't be going. And that's someone that's
been going to Fulham for fifty oddyears. You know, you have to
understand that the fan base is yourcore at the game, not only anything
else. It's about the game itcomes from and when within the fans,

(56:04):
every fan standing on that terracing orin the sitting in their seat and whatever
want to be out on that pitch, but they don't want to be skinned
for the rest of their life byjust walking through a turnstile at a football
match. And we all know thingscome up. We all know there's expense
in everything and that. But whenyou see rises of twenty percent as hopefully

(56:30):
stands figures are right, and eighteenpercent in a year when we're having a
cost of living crisis, it's nothingshort of scanners. Really. But I
mean, on no account and that, But I would imagine the wages and
that of football is in this dayand age, and I'm all for that.
They're the people we go and see. I'm all for them, you

(56:51):
know, getting what they deserve toa certain extent. But I believe it's
beginning to go beyond that now.And where that means that there should be
a wage cap coming on the PremierLeague. I don't know. I know
they've had it in other sports likethe American football which where they get even
more sort of money, if youknow what I mean. But I don't

(57:12):
know, but I think someone somewherereally has to look and see it from
the fans perspective. I mean, there have been moves where they get in
more fans involved in ballroom level, which is in my opinion, perhaps the
only way you can get your pointacross, because the only other way,

(57:32):
and as much as I say,I hate saying in that is you don't
go but listen. Hopefully, hopefully, you know, common sense will provoil
and people will start thinking about fansbecause if I'm white insaying, because someone
was telling me this about if yougo to a football match in Germany,

(57:52):
some of the football is really likeyou know, perhaps not quite the Premiership,
but there's enough good games of footballyou can watch there. It's nobody
news as expensive, which Beggarson askthe question why is it so expensive in
the Premier League. You know,it's a debate that has to be had

(58:15):
it's a worrying sign with the waythat prices are going up. The question
being about the Championship. Will theChampionship be like that? It probably will
to a certain extent, but Idon't think all the while you've got the
likes of Millwall, Rotherham and themsort of people in there, they'd always
be fighting the caller where price tickets, the price of tickets is concerned,

(58:38):
there'll be people concerned that, youknow, they can't afford it. So
hopefully it doesn't go like the PremierLeague has gone. By the way,
that's three thousand pounds for that seasonticket is nothing compared to some of the
corporate stuff that goes on at Tottenhamand places like that. Tottenham and Arsenal.

(59:00):
Yeah, you know they play fourtimes as much as that for a
corporate seats in Tottenham and that Yeah, definitely, Phil What else may come
to the four both here here inEngland and also abroad by these actions.
Yeah, I think it's a balancebetween clubs generating income and affordability for the

(59:22):
fans, particularly in this current climate. As Ted mentioned, there is a
limit. But when I see ManUnited, Arsenal, Tottenham, they're pretty
much sold out I know Arsenal gota members waiting this for season tickets.
You know that's got to be onethy twelve hundred and fifteen hundred pounds per
season ticket. That limit hasn't beenreached, certainly for some clubs in our

(59:46):
league. The Championship has a lotof attractive games, particularly down at the
Den, Millill, Leeds, Millill, Leicester, Miwell Southampton. These are
really attractive. We've all we hadto sell out crowds at the end of
last season. We've had a selloutcrowd already to the Bristol game and the

(01:00:07):
Leeds game, so perhaps the pricelet me always about right. I was
heartened because I saw midweek game twelvethousan. I wasn't expecting that, but
twelve thousand for a midwek game seemsto be a good, good turnout.
It's also about the whole match dayexperience as well, and if that's good
the fans come back. Obviously winninghelps, but you leave home early in

(01:00:30):
the morning and you want to drink, you want something to eat, you
pay for your ticket, You've gota good seat as a good atmosphere,
so the whole package this generates comingback again. But I think overall in
football, the crowds look quite healthy. We're ravaging fourteen thousand. I think
that I'll see which is which iswell up on previous seasons in this league.

(01:00:51):
But there's other things that I've justsuddenly remembered. Bradford. I looked
at this at the start of theseason. Bradford season ticket are about one
hundred and ninety quid, which worksout about eight pound fifty a game,
and they have over fifteen thousand seasontickets bought for this season. You know,

(01:01:12):
eight pound fifty per game, soBradford can do that. It's like
the pound shot mentality. You chargelower and you get more. Also,
I would like to see, becausetwelve versus eighteen thousand for our games,
perhaps could they reduce the evening gameprices because it's not easy to get there
and the kids are at school andhomework and their training. So is there

(01:01:34):
an attraction of making evening games cheaper. I don't know whether that's easy or
not. I've also heard of kidsgo free or quid a kid. I'm
not sure what they do abroad, but certainly they must be paying Harry Kane
affair for you, but they don'tcharge half as what we do over here.
But perhaps that's the different standards ofliving. But certainly I'll be looking
at anything that increases footfall through theturstills. That's got to be da because

(01:02:00):
the more you get through. Imentioned it Twitch Town to twenty eight thousand,
you know some of the under fullup they're going to get forty thousand
plus. So anything that increases footballfor the termstyles bit commercial anything has got
to be a good thing. Butat this moment in time, I don't
think we've reached the limit on peoplespending, particularly when you see these packed

(01:02:21):
out stadiums. Definitely we'll take abreak there and listen to Harvey Brown talking
about the Lions Food Hi, HarveyBrown here. I am proud of the
Lions Food Hub, which is jointlyowned by Kelly and Ellen Webster and they

(01:02:42):

donation hub by the Eye sixteen barat Coleblow Lane end off the ground where
they accept any food or money andtoiletry donations if you can help. Any
