Para hablar de ello tenemos con nosotros a Luis Enjuanes es virólogo y lleva 36 años estudiando los coronavirus. Actualmente es Profesor de Investigación y Jefe del Laboratorio de Coronavirus en el Centro Nacional de Biotecnología del CSIC y profesor de Virología de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid y del Instituto Pasteur de París. Ha sido nombrado “Virólogo Senior Distinguido” por la Sociedad Española de Virología, Académico de la Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales, Académico de la “Academia Norteamericana de Microbiología” y de la Academia Nacional de Ciencias de EE UU. Además de esto, Enjuanes ha recibido la Encomienda de Sanidad por sus contribuciones en este campo, la medalla al Mérito en la Investigación y en la Educación Universitaria concedido por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, el Premio Nacional de Biotecnología 2022 y, recientemente, El Premio Nacional a la Investigación Científica en Medicina Gregorio Marañón, entre otras distinciones."
