Médico especialista en Medicina Preventiva y Salud Pública y Máster en Salud Pública y en Historia de la Ciencia y Comunicación Científica. Investigador del Museo Vasco de Historia de la Medicina y la Ciencia (UPV/EHU) y coordinador de la Sección de Salud Pública de la Academia de Ciencias Médicas de Bilbao. Miembro de la Ponencia de Alertas y Planes de Preparación y Respuesta y la Ponencia de Vigilancia Epidemiológica del Sistema Nacional de Salud.
