(00:33):
Hello, and welcome to episode twohundred and forty nine of the Not Your
Mama's Game of podcasts. Yah.We almost at two fifty, a podcast
where we talk about living, working, and playing in and around the games
industry, and we do so froma feminist perspective. My name is Samantha
Blackman, and I am an associateprofessor here at Purdue University in West Lafayette,

(00:57):
Indiana, and I am joined tonightby my two amazing co hosts,
Victoria Breger and Jordan Lukomski. Hey, y'all, Hey, all right,
So Victoria, we'll start with you. Hah, you just muted. Who
are you? How are you?I'm Victoria. I'm doing I'm doing all

(01:21):
right. Little little congest is stillbut doing all right. I'm a PhD
candidate perdue and rhetoric and composition.I study video games with a specific interest
in video game controllers and gamer identity. And that's that's where I hang out,
and that's where I'll be hanging outfor what feels like forever. But

(01:42):
we're almost on woo woo oo.It's like the most jubulant like woo,
just the exhausted woo. There's nothere's no there's no excitement there yet.
She's coming a muted woo, abeauted w all right, Jordan, what

(02:04):
about you? Who are you?How are you hey? I'm Jordan.
I'm a senior outsource artist at thatsnow Moon, a video game company based
in Los Angeles, where we're workingon things and stuff, and I am
here on this January twenty fifth oftwenty twenty four, making it through the

(02:25):
month. Things are pretty good.It just feels like it's March or April
instead of January. If it willsing April, then it could be time
for spring break. I'll take thattrue. All right. So we're going

(02:46):
to start with our usual what we'replaying, what we're reading, what we're
drinking, and then we're going tomove into our topic of the episode,
shall we say? And let's flipit up, slip it up. That's
weird. Let's flip it around alittle bit. Excuse me, Jordan,
what do you play in I amplaying a lot of new board games because

(03:12):
of the holiday break. So someof the new ones that we're playing there
is there's been quite a few AvatarLast Airbender board games that came out,
So I got one called Crossroads ofDestiny, which we haven't played a ton
we were waiting for one of myfriends to come visit to play more of
it. But the overall premises youhave like this booklet, and the booklet

(03:35):
has these different scenarios from the TVshow, and you have different ponds that
you can place in different areas, and it's simultaneously like a co op strategy
game, but it vastly changes everytime you play, because the movement of
both your characters and the opponents changesper around based on what you roll or

(04:00):
what you draw. And you canhave a campaign mode where you essentially go
through the entire TV show and theopponents can get more or less powerful based
on missions that you complete. Sowe haven't played through the campaign or most
of the second half of the booklet, but we're having a lot of fun
with the missions by themselves, andif you're a fan of Avatar, I

(04:24):
think you'd have a lot of funwith it as well. And then the
other one that we're playing is similarto a lot of the other escape board
games that are out there, likeExit Game Unlock, but this one is
more specifically surrounding solving mysteries, andit's Sherlock Holmes themed. The box itself

(04:45):
is kind of expensive. It's inbetween depending on which one you get and
where you get it, sixty toeighty dollars. But it comes with ten
missions or ten different storylines that youcan play, so it's essentially like three
unlocked boxes in one of these, and you also don't cut up stuff,
so you can give it to afriend once you're done with it. But

(05:08):
that one plays a lot differently. It's not timed, and you're reading a
lot. It's kind of like playingthe novels, just with different made up
storylines, so you're reading a lot, you're looking through newspapers. But we
like it because the timed versions, while we really do like exit game and

(05:30):
unlocked it can get kind of stressfuland hectic, and this one we can
just go at our own place, look at the map, choose where we
read stuff. So that one's beenpretty different and we're probably gonna get one
of the other boxes as we wrapup this one soon and then video game
wise Balder's Kate three. I don'tknow when I'll stop saying those three words.

(05:53):
We've been at the end of thegame for about a month and a
half now, and not because it'sslow or we're not liking it or we're
taking long breaks. It's just there'sso much to do and so much that
we want to explore. And again, I get very unhappy when my companions

(06:15):
get unhappy, So sometimes that resultsin replaying stuff. But we're getting there.
We're getting there nice. Okay, what about you, Victoria? What
you play? So towards the endof last year, I think, like

(06:36):
November ish, I picked up DisneySpeedstorm Racing game and it's free, and
I've had a lot of fun withthat. We play that every day to
like get our free box of youknow, shards to unlock characters. And
currently there's a Frozen season going on, so you can unlock the Frozen characters,

(06:57):
you get special they have special likepower ups. So I've been playing
that like every day. It's replacedour Fallout seventy six because we weren't really
interested in Fallout seventy six is seasonLet's go around. There was only one
plushy and it was all the wayit's like level one hundred unlocked or something
like level ninety six, and Iwas like, I am not interested in

(07:17):
the other ninety six levels to getthere, and I don't know if I
can grind every day just to getthis one plushy and that will definitely be
in the market eventually, so Iwas going to ask if there was another
way to get it go ahead ofthat'll they'll definitely put it in the market.
They do like season catchups, andso if you missed items from that

(07:38):
season, you can go and buythem in the market sometime later. They
rotate around, so it'll be fine. Sometimes sometimes Fallout seventy six needs a
bit of a break. So we'vebeen playing Disney. Did you play Did
They Dream My Valley? Or No, I haven't. I haven't played that
one. Been playing Ship of Foolsa lot. It's just such a silly

(08:03):
little co op game, just arogue light and just replaying it and trying
to get your ship all the waythrough the darkness to unlocked light levels for
your lighthouse. It's just it's justa silly, cute little co op rogue
light and I like it. Andrecently, I think it happened December,

(08:26):
they poorted Balder's Gate three to theXbox, So I've been we've been playing
that. We're on our first runthrough and I think we're like seventy some
odd hours into it nice, andthat's been fun. We're already planning like
our second run through, like whatkind of characters will make for the second
because we have both my partner andI have role playing characters that we've had

(08:50):
that Like, for mine, i'vehad I think she's fifteen years now,
Like I've had this role playing characterand she's built in a D and D
system. She's built in D andD three point five. And Nick has
this character that he's had, youknow, twenty years, and so we
always play through role playing games likethis with like those characters first fun.

(09:15):
And yeah, so we have thislike whole background like that they they kind
of travel through lanes of existence andthey must be very very old because his
character originated with like a D andD second edition, so they're they're very
old characters this way, they're waytoo old. And so we're playing with

(09:37):
those characters first and then we're goingto play through it again. Surely we
messed up act too by not followingthe quest line that it wants you to
follow, and so we kind ofbroke act too. And yeah, I've
been I've been really enjoying Balder's Katethree. It's been It's been a good

(09:58):
time. When I go back tobalder Skate three, I am going to
have to start over because I don'tremember where I was or what I was
doing. And I'm only thirty hoursin, excuse me. So it won't
be too terrible. But it's goingto have to be when I'm at a

(10:18):
place when there's like nothing else Iwant to play. Not because it's a
game that I don't want to play, but there's so many other things I'm
excited for that it's going to haveto be when there's a lull and I'll
restart it. And I'll restart itbecause I'm going to be salt even though
I'm like, it's I'm only thirtyhours in, it's fine. I'm gonna

(10:39):
be salty that I have to restarted. I look forward to it being cross
platform because then we can play withour group. I have a gaming PC.
My partner has a gaming PC.I just don't like playing games on
it. I just want to siton my capuch most of the time,

(11:01):
and especially for long play sessions likewe play. We played the other day
over the weekend for like five hoursone day. I don't want to sit
in my computer chair that long.I'm already doing that. I already have
to work here. It's also alot easier with cats, too, because
every time I play on my computer, they're like, I'm gonna choose now
to sit on your hand on themouse or on the keyboard. But on

(11:24):
the PlayStation, I can just siton the chair of the couch and they
sit in lap and everything's perfect, everyone's happy, no one's mad that you
hit the wrong button at the wrongtime, and then the entire game and
lost ten hours of save data.Yeah, yeah, yeah. So yesterday
we were playing and we were inan area where you can't visit your camp,
and there was an item in Nick'sinventory that I needed and I was

(11:46):
in a different part of the mapand I was like, just send it
to me, like, just justtransferred to me. And Polio got on
his lap and he was cycling throughthe options of who to send it to,
and she pressed a right when itsaid send a camp. Oh no,
and she sent the stupid item tocamp and we just stared at her.

(12:07):
I was like, are you kiddingme? Right now? And we
lost about like about half an hourof save data because I am. I'm
super paranoid. I'm always saving thegame to the point where the game like
it tells me it's like, youdon't have much storage space left, you
need to delete old saves. I'mlike, that's fine. That's the same
thing that happens with me. Everytime that happens, my parent has to

(12:31):
get up and do something like alittle bit of the dishes or go feed
the cats because it takes me likefive minutes to go through inside with saves.
I want to delete exactly. Soundsabout I just need my scrum saves,
that's all. I'm the same way. I'm like, I'm not gonna
play sit here and play for fivehours and have to replay this because I

(12:54):
don't know the cat did something orthe power went out or I did something
stupid. No, I'm gonna sayit's been five minutes. Save effect.
Yes. Their games are always crash, yes, and that's probably probably what
it's from. Too many pathestias traumatrauma from Bethesda where you're playing and it's

(13:15):
just like crash and you're like,oh no, why did I lose everything?
One hundred percent? So I guessit's my turn. So I had
plans for what I was going tobe playing this week and last week right,
I've been I've been trying to playplaying things out so I won't so

(13:37):
I won't find myself like sitting andstaring at like the computer or the Xbox
or the PlayStation, Like what amI going to play? So I was
going to play m H power Worldbecause Power World came out, and I
was going to play this uh newlike dungeon crawler dating sim story game called

(14:05):
Returned from Core which looked really cuteand it reminded me a lot of core
Keeper, which, if you don'tknow, is like a like an underground
mining game where you like go throughand fight bosses and get materials resource gathering
and base building and all this otherstuff. So was that plus plus there

(14:28):
was like you can like date monstergirls and it sounded really cute and there
was like an actual story to it. So I said I had gotten a
code for it, and I said, let me check this out and then
I'm gonna stream it because there wasa lot of there was a lot of
people like in my stream community thatplayed core Keeper, and I was like,

(14:50):
they would really probably like this.Now. Last year, one of
the rules that I made for myselfbecause I was just really tired of people
shitting shenanigans. Is that. Mynew rule is that if I start playing
a game and there is character customization, and you can customize fifty seven different

(15:13):
hairstyles, fifty seven different hair colors, eye colors, tattoos, scars,
you know, shirts, pants, shoes, gloves, everything, but you
do not allow me to play asa person of color. That is the
only customization option that is not present. I'm not playing your game. That's

(15:37):
just shitting shenanigans. You've put toomuch work into the customization to say,
oh, but you can't be blackright now. This is different. If
you're playing a game that has aset character and that character is white,
I play white. I mean shit, I've been playing games for more than
forty five years. I'm used toplaying characters that are not black. So,

(15:58):
you know, if it's a characterthat's you know, if it's not
a non customizable character, it's it'sjust a character in the game, and
that character is white or Asian orwhatever that character is. I'm good with
that because that is that set character. But if it is a customizable character
and you say you can be everythingor you or you can't be black?

(16:18):
Then, you know what, Ijust feel like that's just that's that's taking
it one step too far. SoI have to admit I, like I
said, I was excited to playthis game, and I installed it,
and I was like, let me, like I always play through it to
check like levels and make sure thatit's, you know, actually playable because

(16:41):
it is an early access game. And so I said, let me,
you know, make a test characterand play a little bit, right,
because I was excited. Yeah, couldn't be black. Couldn't be black?
And so I was like, oh, okay, so I can have forty
seven different hairstyles and have blue hairand facial scars and mix and match all

(17:03):
my clothes and handgear, but Icannot be black. So I said,
let me check the roadmap maybe. And this was just me granting grace where
I should not have, right, because you've already done all this customization.
I knew it wasn't there, butI wanted to check, so I said,

(17:25):
let me check the roadmap. SoI go online and I checked their
development roadmap. Because again it's anearly access game. There is nothing zip
zilch zero in their roadmap about anyadditional character customization. There's stuff about different
NPCs, there's stuff about other things. Ain't nothing in there about about other

(17:48):
character customization. So it is gamethat I refuse to play. I will
come back and visit again the gameagain. Later I will send a a
friendly message to their PR person andlet them know why why I did not
play their game. But that's thatis just a decision that I made for

(18:14):
myself. I made for myself lastyear because I'm like, I'm tired of
it. I'm tired of finding youknow, these games where where there are
customizable characters. I mean, evenif they're customer, even if the characters
are customizable and you can like havedarker skin, but the hair options are
crappy. I mean, yeah,we used to crappy hair options, you

(18:36):
know. I can, I canlike see past that. But when there's
a blatant disregard for folks of varioushues, I can't anymore. I'm old
and cranky. I'm old and cranky, and I can't anymore. It's kind

(19:00):
of energy in your life. Ido not, I one hundred percent do
not, and and it feels toointentional, do you know what I mean?
It feels too intentional. If youmake all of these customization options and
then say, but you can't beblack or brown, that's intentional. There
is intentionality there. So no matterhow much I wanted to play Return for

(19:26):
Core, no matter how much Iwanted to cover that game because I thought
folks in my community might like it, but I have too many bipop folks
in my community, who you know, also are just tired of people shitting
shenanigans, and and I when wewhen I made that decision about not streaming

(19:47):
or playing games or covering games anymore, that just make that concerted decision to
not allow for UH, to notallow for for racial or ethic diversity.
I shared that with them and theywere like, hey, we're down for
it because we were playing a gameand I'm like, okay, well,

(20:07):
I'm like I'm sorry, we're notplaying this and they were like, what
you just start? I was like, I'm not playing this game. I
am not because I'm just done.I am done. I am fed up
at this point. So yeah,So that was one of the things I
was supposed to play, and Iwas excited to play that I am not
playing. And then Power World cameout and I made I made a joke

(20:32):
when the game, like first theyfirst announced it, and I made a
joke and called the game pup Pokemon. It is a creature collection. Uh,
it's a creature collection survival base buildinggame. And there's been all kinds
of and I'm not gonna go intothis because I don't have the energy to

(20:56):
even engage with this kind of thispart the conversation. But there's been so
much conversation going on about the likenessesbetween the Pals and the Pokemon. But
it's the game just like took off. It was ridiculous and like the first

(21:19):
eight hours they sold like a millioncopies of the game, and like six
days in they had sold like eightmillion copies of the game. It's kind
of ridiculous, and it's it's Idon't know what it is. It's actually
it's actually fun. It's a goodsurvival game. It's a good survival game,

(21:41):
and I've been having a lot offun playing it. I've been super
busy, but when I like sitdown to like relax and play something,
I've just been playing it on myI played it for a couple of days
on my on my Xbox. Butthere's no cross play and no cross saves

(22:03):
between Xbox and Steam. There isfor Windows PC through Game Pass, but
because of like like verification through theXbox system there and all the updates they
were pushing, the Xbox version waslike two whole updates behind, and so

(22:32):
you couldn't even like rename, Youcouldn't even give yourself a name. I
was playing as like character one,six seven eighty five or something like that,
and I was like, I needa name. I couldn't rename my
pals. And there was a lotof stuff that was that was not present
in the Xbox uh the Xbox environmentsave that were present in the Steam safe.

(22:56):
So I went hand Body on Steamand then I've just been playing it
on my Steam deck, just sittingon my couch, chilling playing Power World.
We're playing Power World and having ablast with it, to be perfectly
honest. So yeah, that's whatI've been playing for like the last weekend
and a half. That's what I'vebeen playing for like the last week and

(23:17):
half. But yeah, so that'swhat I'm playing. What are we reading,
Jordan? What you're reading? SoI got a lot of books for
the holiday break, and I decidedto spend a good chunk of money on

(23:40):
myself with books on the holiday break, and then it is January twenty fifth,
and that tower is undisturbed. Ilove the way you say undisturbed.
I had to stack them and putthem out of way because I'm at the
point where I ran out of shelfspace and I've already restacked the and reorganized

(24:07):
the books to try to maximize theamount of space three times. So I
foresee another bookshelf in the future. But in the meantime, the books are
there. They are currently staring atme and I'm staring back, and I
feel really bad. But yeah, there's not There's not a whole lot of

(24:30):
progress there. M there will be, hopefully. My best friend is moving
out to Los Angeles and in themeantime is staying with us, and we
read a lot of books at thesame time, so we can use this
to motivate each other and be likethat that stack needs to be reduced to

(24:51):
like one or two books. Wecan do it. We can, yay,
okay. And I say this asI'm planning on going to the bookstore
this weekend because looking at other people'slists, I won't spoil it. Uh.
I forgot that there are other booksthat I don't have, and I've
recently been motivated by the I don'tknow what they call it phrase or just

(25:18):
the self motivation, but there aremore books out there that I don't have
than I do have. So Ishouldn't feel so bad, right, No,
you absolutely, one hundred percent shouldnot. You one hundred percent should
not. Okay, what about you, Victoria? Stop or not? We're

(25:42):
not reading? Okay? I meanthat happens you're you're you're busy. You're
busy, I mean, and weall have that time where like anything we
are reading is academic. So Icompletely I dent understand. I had to
understand. I'm gonna tell you abouta book that I'm gonna tell you what

(26:04):
I'm reading. I'm gonna tell youwhat fantastic, that's good. So what
I'm reading, I'm still There's onething I'm still reading, right and that
is uh, Priory the Orange Treeby Samantha Shannon. And it's it's it

(26:30):
is a very good book. Okay, let me start by saying that prior
to the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannonis a very good book. And and
it was a book that I decidedthat you know, I was like,
I really want to read this book, so I bought it, and then
I knew that there was no wayin hell that I was going to get

(26:52):
the folks in my book club toread this book because it is over eight
hundred pages long. And I waslike, I'm not even gonna ask people
to read this book because I waslike, there's no way because people read
a different rates rite what people reada different rays, and some people just

(27:19):
don't have the desire to read aneight hundred and something the page book.
So what we've been doing with thebigger books, what we've been doing with
the bigger books lately is if somebody, if we want to we find that
we all want to read a bookthat's big or not all, there's several

(27:40):
of us that want to read it, we do we'll do a buddy read.
We'll call it a buddy read. We'll do a buddy read. So
we decided to do a buddy readfor Priory of the Orange Street. Now.
The only problem is is that there'slike some people just not not just,
but some people like have more shallwe say, free time for reading
books, that like books for pleasure. And then there are those of us

(28:07):
who also read for a living,so we have less time to read for
pleasure. So the folks who therewere some folks who were reading along with
us who finished the book like weeksago, and then there's two of us
who are English professors who are likejust like trying to catch up. We're
still like, you know, halfwayto three quarters of the way through of

(28:30):
the book because we're you know,it's the beginning of a new semester.
We were like reading all this newstuff over for class and prepping for class
over break, and like during theweek we are rereading stuff for class,
and so you know, we gotwe've gotten a little bit behind. We've

(28:52):
got a little bit behind. SoI'm about three quarters of the way through
Priory the oor Street. I reallyam enjoying this book. I really am
in joining in this book. Isjust that I have so much other stuff
to do and so much other stuffthat i'm reading both, you know,
because I've got I'm teaching two classes, so I'm rereading all the stuff.

(29:14):
I'm rereading all the stuff from mytwo classes, and and I'm you know,
doing research, so I'm rereading.I'm reading and re reading and rereading
stuff for like a research project thatI'm working on, and there's always the
Black Games Archives stuff and adding likeand adding like uh articles and books and

(29:41):
stuff about specific games to the gamescards. So I'm constantly reading all this
other stuff, and it makes mesad because all I want to do is
sit down with an eight hundred pagebook and a cup of coffee and just
read until I don't want to readno more. But I guess I chose
the wrong job for that. Iguess I chose the wrong job for that.

(30:03):
So yeah, I'm reading Priority theOrange Tree, and then a book
that I assigned to my class,to my games writing class, because I
thought that they would really enjoy it. I can't where's mine. I don't
even have my kindle in here. It's called Oh wait, I know where

(30:25):
I can find it. It's calledoh what is it called? Writers Write
about Video Games? No, that'sa lie. I knew as soon as
I said that was wrong. Itwas like writers play video games? Hold
on, let me find them, let me find the the editors. Okay,

(30:48):
it's called critical Hits. Writers PlayingVideo Games is by Carmen Maria Mercado
and some dude. I'm sorry, that's rude. Some dude, his last
name is Lennin. And it issuch a fun read. It but it
it it's interesting, and I signedit, and I signed it for this

(31:11):
class, or at least some coupleseveral of the chapters for this class,
because it gets at different kinds ofwriting, like games writing, because they
take like like personal anecdotes in historyand all these other things, and they
kind of blended in with this criticalwith like critical discussion about a very specific

(31:37):
game. So they do like onegame and they do it and they talk
about that one and so it hasbeen an absolute like it's been a blast
to read for me. So likenow I'm going back as we go through
like week by week, and I'mI'm like rereading, of course the chapters
that they're reading, but also I'mrereading the chapters chapters that they're not reading.

(31:59):
Oh it is. His name isJay Robert Lennon. I was like,
some dude, his last name isLenin, I'm rude, Jay Robert
Lennon, and car Memory Mercado. It's but it's been such a fun read,
and it's been fun discussing it.It's been fun discussing it with my
students, right, and it's amore recent book, so a lot of

(32:23):
the conversations, Like the first thefirst UH chapter that we read out of
it for class was about the Lastof Us, and the way that the
author contextualized it was about their ownillness, like physical illness, and living
through and living through the pandemic rightand tying that into the Last of Us.

(32:47):
It's been such it's been such funread and my students are really enjoying
it, which makes me happy becausethen I don't have to worry about whether
or not they did the reading forthe week. So yeah, so that's
been, you know, a workread, but still a very fun work
read and rereading it because of coursewhen I when I chose it, I

(33:12):
read through it, but I readthrough it really fast. So like going
through and rereading it again and sittingwith it and like playing through and playing
through the games that they're talking aboutin the chapters at the same time and
being able to discuss it with thestudents has been a lot of fun.
But that's what I'm reading. That'swhat I'm reading, So that's what we're
playing. What we're reading. Whatare you drinking, Jordan, What you're

(33:36):
drinking? You usually drink it's upthe fun. I'm drinking one of my
go to stouts, the North CoastOld Recpue and Russian Imperial Stout. Other
than Guinness, this is one ofthe more common ones that I go towards.
And yeah, I don't know, just stouts are my comfort drink and

(33:59):
this is one of my favorites.Hey sounds a good old recipueting. That's
a fun name. That's a funname. Okay, good. What about
you, Victoria, What you're drinking? I am drinking spray, just plain
all lemon lime sprite, just plainold lemon lime sprite. It was what

(34:23):
was I was like, Oh,I didn't get anything to drink for the
podcast today? What about As Iwas as I was walking back to the
office, like, I just passedby the case of sprite and I was
like, oh, look a sprite. That's what I'm drinking today. Hey,

(34:43):
hey, you know you gotta haveyou go to sometime? Yeah,
yeah, you go to sometimes.I am drinking. I'm not drinking anything.
I'm not drinking any alcohol. I'mnot feeling a hunt of today.

(35:04):
So I am drinking a what isthis ultra golden pineapple monster mixed with a
clementine peach sparkling water. Because everything'stoo sweet to me. It's energy drinks
are too sweet, and I wasin real need of a nap. I

(35:28):
was like, so I could takea nap, or I could drink an
energy drink. So that's what I'mhaving, is I'm having an energy drink.
I should have put, like, you know what would have been good
in this coconut rum. It wouldhave been like a pina colada almost.
I should have put coconut rum init, but I didn't. It's too
late. Now I feel like Ifeel like I'm like twenty one drinking putting

(35:51):
booze in my in my energy drinks. I feel like I'm twenty one putting
the booze in my energy drinks. But I'm far from twenty one, so
I'm probably good with just the energydrink, all right. So that's what
we're playing, what we're reading,what we're drinking, and so what we're
gonna talk about today is we're talking. We thought to be fun to talk

(36:12):
about our We talked about our favoritegames of twenty twenty three before we thought
it would be fun to talk aboutour most anticipated games of twenty twenty four.
And I really want to see ifVictoria comes with another game, cames
up with another game that we knowwe're not going to see for at least
two or three years. So I'mexcited. No. Wow, Wow,

(36:43):
I couldn't resist. I couldn't seeI see, so I thought it would
be fun. I know that whenwe when we were talking about this,
I said three to five games. So I made a list of I made
a list, and I have fiveon my list and an honorable mention.

(37:08):
And we can kind of go throughthese. I don't I can rank them
in my head. I probably can. We can go through we can talk
about these. We can talk aboutthese in terms of what games we think
we're really excited for in twenty twentyfour, and we can go round robin
and say high, lowest to highest, so five to one or three to

(37:32):
one, depending on what you have. If you have them ranked, or
you can just do them randomly,it's totally up to you. Victoria,
would you like to tell us whatyour first game is? Wow? Just
just sitting here like shook, Wow, my first game is coming. It

(37:58):
is the Xbox of Played Up.Because all I need is more co op
games to play, so I watchstreams of played up and it looks like
a good time. It looks likeovercooked, but with the added bonus of
having to run the restaurant and takeorders at the same time of then having
to cook the food and then deliverthe food. It's just it looks like

(38:22):
chaos and you have to decide thelayout of your restaurant, like what's optimal
to try and get things done. It's just it's gonna be pure chaos.
And I can't wait. So thatone's coming in February, I'm sorry,
which is six days away. Wow, it's gonna be fun. It's gonna

(38:50):
be fun. I'm excited for thatone too. I'm excited for that one
too. All right, what aboutyou, Jordan. I'm really glad you
went with Victoria first, because I'mcrying. Oh my gosh, I think
I might be the offender of thisyear. I have three regular and then

(39:15):
three honorable mentions, and only twoof them have dates. Yes, it
says most likely twenty twenty four areannounced for twenty twenty four, but there's
only two with actual dates. Ohmy gosh. U So I'll go from

(39:39):
It depends on what I'm feeling, and it depends on the month and it
switches on. Oh, I'm moreexcited for this one for the other,
so I'll just start at the topof my list and move down. This
one is announced for twenty twenty fourby Double Dagger Studio, and I think
the title will say it all. That is Little Kitty Big City. Oh

(40:01):
my gosh. I cannot wait tojust explore a city and mess with stuff
as a cat, very in somewhatsimilar idea as Stray, but without the

(40:25):
environmental context that overlays a lot ofit, a lot of the history that
we talked about there. And thenalso like, well, I don't know,
I've been trying to avoid some ofthe releases for a Little Kitty Big
City because I just want to gointo it and play as a cat and
explore this city without having a tonof previous knowledge of Oh I saw that

(40:47):
level in this trailer, so whynot how to navigate it or what to
do? So I could be wrong, but I don't think your kitty can
get hurt in the same way asStray, So I'm all for that.
Okay. So I had said Iforgot about Little Kiddie Big City, and

(41:13):
I don't know if I forgot becauseit didn't have a date or just because
I forgot, but I'm excited forthat one too. But the fifth game
on my list is Nightingale, AndI've been on this survival game kick lately,
between like Pow World and Lego Fortnite, Nightingale looked really interesting to me.

(41:38):
It's a survival crafting game that youcan play either solo or with people,
and it takes place in like afay forest and it almost has like
a Victorian feel to it. SoI am super excited for that. It
actually is coming out in It's scheduledto come out in Early Access next month.

(42:07):
So yeah, that's one that thatis on my list of like most
anticipated games for twenty twenty four, and it's coming soon. I think a
lot of my games are coming soon, which has been concerned if they all
come in like February, but theyhave a date? Uh, some of
them do? Some of them do? Nightingale says coming to Early Access on

(42:34):
February twenty seconds, So yeah, some of them. I think. I
think most of them have a date. Will have to look, but that's
my that's my fifth one. Allright, Victoria, what about you?
What's your next one? So Ididn't put mine in any particular order because
it's just not how I am.So on theme Hollow Night, Silk Song.

(43:05):
Yeah, how many years have youbeen saying silk song? You few,
it'll happen this year. Remember howI said Starfield had happened last year?
It happened and yeah, yeah, never mind that I had said that
the year before as well. It'sit's it'll happen this year. If you

(43:28):
keep saying it, you got tobe right. Sometimes, at some point
you got to be right, becauseat some point it will happen that year.
Yeah, but I really, Ireally want to play the sequel to
Hollow Nights. I'm hoping for you. I'm hoping this is the year we
get Silk Song. I'm hoping thisis the year we get Silk Song just

(43:51):
for you, just for you. It's gonna be so good and the soundtrack
will be lovely, It'll be great. Yep, I got you, all
right, Jordan? What's your nextone? So I can't always remember what
I did two days ago, butI remember a lot of our podcasts at

(44:14):
the beginning of the years when wetalk about what we're looking forward to and
I know, or when we're reviewinggames that have been announced from the summer
shows. And I know, lasttime we talked about this, I was
like, yeah, I mean I'mexcited, but not as excited as some

(44:36):
of the other announcements. But nowit's twenty twenty four and it's been announced
for twenty twenty four. Supposedly we'llsee Star Wars Outlaws. Yes, like,
if it comes out this year,I will pre order that game.

(44:57):
I am excited to play another StarWars game this year. I played Jedi
Survivor last year near the beginning ofthe year, and though Baldersgate has taken
up a lot of my time sincethen, I'm excited to go back to
Star Wars and video game format asa not even like Jedi centric either,

(45:19):
Like we have more of the bountyhunter side of things, and yeah,
there's there's. Now that we're herein twenty twenty four, I'm getting more
excited. Yeah, yeah, Okay, I just want to I want to
add you all. I want toadd all yours games to my list.
But yeah, so I'm excited forthat one too. I really don't have

(45:40):
twenty twenty four hopes for that one, though. I think it's going to
be twenty twenty five. But Imight be wrong. I might be wrong.
We'll see. I want it tobe good, so I don't want
them to rush it. I wantthem to take as long as they need
to. So I'm excited for that, all right. So let's see.
I'm gonna say my number four isand I don't even know that this game

(46:04):
is really gonna be good, butI just want to play. It is
Suicide Squad, I kill the JusticeLeague. I want to play Suicide Squad.
I kill the Justice League. Iwant to play. I don't know.
I want to play as Harley Quinn. I want to play as Harley
Quinn because I just in my mind, if they need to let me play

(46:30):
as Harley Quinn, and they needto let me choose to actively romance Poison
IVY because those two are will foreverbe shipped in my mind. So and
I don't know, it just it'sgotten such sketchy press forever. And but

(46:50):
I really I really want to playas a bad guy. I really want
to play a bad guy. AndI want to kill the Justice League.
What what kind of game is itsupposed to be? It's like an It's
like a like an action I don'twant to say shooter kind of game,
but you actually like you actively likeplay as uh, you know, as

(47:15):
bad guys who go out instead ofso think think Batman Arkham, think like
the Batman series, except you getto play as a bad guy and instead
of catching and catch, instead ofcatching bad guys, you're going out to
kill the good guys. Heck yeah, but is it like, can you
play with friends or is this moreof a solo Let me double check.

(47:36):
Yeah, they have. I don'twant to lie though, I want to
say that it's for some reason, four person co op is stuck in my
head. Suicide. Here we go. I've been googling it apparently because it's
it's it popped up first and itcomes out four days, two hours,
and fifty six minutes, and it'son PlayStation Windows, Xbox Series X and

(47:57):
S and mm hmmm, can Ilook at this. I want to say
it was four person co op,but I might be wrong. Mm hmm,
but yeah, in my mind,Hardy Quinn and Boys and Ivy Forever.

(48:28):
Yeah, it does have co op. Well, yes, up to
four players. I was right,So it is four person co op,
so you could play with friends andwe will be able to play soon.
We'll be able to play soon. All right. So that's Victorious your turn

(48:52):
again. What's your next game?I won't make fun of you, I
promise, Yeah you will. Iwill. So this game was announced in
twenty nineteen. Oh my god.Yeah, but it's supposed to release in

(49:15):
late twenty twenty four and it isVampire the Masquerade Bloodlines too. Oh we
got high hopes. Okay, ohokay, yeah see, I see you.

(49:35):
We're so optimistic this year. We'rejust putting out like good vibes and
you know, just we're just we'rebeing optimistic. Mm hmm, yeah sounds
good. Yeah. So I havebeen playing a World of Darkness table top

(49:57):
rpeagees for a very long time, and I normally we normally play in a
with all of the books because ourgroup is familiar with what their book is.
So the World of Darkness has Changelingand Werewolf and Hunters and Mummy and
Vampire, and I normally play inChangeling. And I'm really I'm always interested

(50:25):
to see how the World of Darknessbooks and like World as a tabletop game
is adapted into video games. AndVampire the mass Grad Like Bloodlines did not
do well. It was like fifteensome odd years ago it didn't did not
do well. And so now thatthere's a second game and it's being put

(50:46):
out by Paradox, and I'm justI'm optimistic, and that's okay, we're
gonna be optimistic about this. Wehave to be opt to think about something.
So, yes, you're really you'rereally gonna hate my fourth pick.
Oh my gosh, it's gonna bea good time, Jordan, save me

(51:08):
with your next tvdo Oh. Thisis one of the few that has a
concrete date of my list, andthat is February twenty ninth, twenty twenty
four Square Enix Final Fantay seven Rebirth. I am so excited for it.

(51:30):
I did not play Final Fantasy seventhe original game, at any point,
but one of my first games intothe entire Final Fantasy franchise and JRPG genre
as a whole was Final Fantasy sevenCrisis Core. It is also the first

(51:52):
game that I ever cried at andI was like, wow, Okay,
this is what games can be.And I don't want to give too much
away for people that still haven't playedthe remake. And even though I haven't
played the original game, I've watchedplaythroughs. I know what happens. So
I am so excited to be playingFinal Fantasy seven in this world with my

(52:19):
latest console. But also as itrelates to Final Fantasy seven Crisis Core and
the changes that they're making for theremake and not just purely one to one
creating Final Fantasy seven, So we'llsee where it goes. And I am

(52:40):
I got the tissue stocked. Let'sjust say that. Ah. So that's
that's very sweet. And the funnything is that my daughter Peece started playing
the remake last year, just outof know where she came and she was
like, hey, do we havethis game? And I was like yeah,
yeah. She goes, is it? Is it? In? She

(53:02):
was like, can can you installit on my on my PlayStation because she's
got her own PS five so shedon't touch my And so I installed it
and she she was playing through itright and she's really enjoying it. And
then when my mom was visiting overChristmas, she people was playing it one

(53:22):
night and my mom just came andsat down and watched her, and she
was really just enjoying the story. So then my mom spent the entire Christmas
break using my kid as her ownpersonal streamer. So I told her she
should be charging Nana five dollars amonth for ninety nine a month because she
would like every night she would belike, are we gonna play? It

(53:43):
was so funny. She would go, are we gonna play Final Fantasy tonight?
And people was like, who wasthis week? I'm playing? You
watch it? Oh my gosh. That reminds me so much of me and
my older sister when we started playingvideos together and I'm like, so are
we playing this tonight? She's like, I'm doing it all the work?

(54:05):
So uh. She she was likebecause my mother, she like actually extended
her visit by like another week, and she was like on pee, like
every night it's like, we gottafinish this before I leave, and and
she like could not extend her Shecould not extend her visit anymore. She

(54:27):
literally left on Monday because she hadan appointment on Tuesday. She could not
reschedule. So they made it throughthe remaster, but they didn't make it
through the DLC, So my motherwas it was was kind of sad about
that, and so I think inher mind she's like hoping that PE will

(54:52):
hold off on playing Rebirth until shecomes back for a whole I was like,
I don't know if that's gonna happen. I'm really excited for Rebirth,
so she might have to. Shemight have to replay it for Nana when
Nana gets here. But yeah,I still have to play the DC.

(55:14):
And I still haven't played the remakeof Crisis Core though I have it,
so oh yeah, we'll see,We'll see. I might. I might
see if I can figure out away for for Pee to stream it just
for Nana, you know, ifI could like set up something so she

(55:37):
can stream it to like Discord orsomething, mm hmmm, and I could
watch, and then I could watch, and then she could just call her
every night and harass her. Ohmy gosh, that's wonderful. Are we
playing Fantasy? I'm playing okay.So my next one is, and again

(56:01):
I keep choosing all these games thatI am really like, skeptical if they're
going to be any good, butI still really want to play them.
And so my next one is,when I first saw this game, I
think I saw like a wholesome gamesdirector. I was like, oh my
god, I want to play thatright now. It's Bandletail a League of

(56:22):
Legend story I have for so long, Okay, not for so long,
since the the League of Legends likecartoon came out. Oh God, I
can't even remember the name of itanymore. My head hurts so bad.
So again Arkane. Yes, sinceArcane came out, I was like,

(56:45):
I need a full RPG set inthe League of Legends universe. They've been
releasing all of these small games indifferent genres that take place in the League
of Legends universe, and unfortunately,I feel like none of them have been
well received or really not a wholelot of good. But I have high

(57:07):
hopes for bandle Tail in the sameway that Victoria has high hopes that Silk
Songs coming out this year. Butbandal Tail is a like I said,
I've been like, really in thelike uh survival games. It's a crafting
RPG and it looks so cute.It has a like a thirty two bit

(57:31):
feel to it, and it looksit's adorable. It's a crafting RPG.
Seid in the Legal Legends universe, and you have to you know, you're
rebuilding everything, right, You're rebuildingeverything, and you have wait for it.
Knitting Magic. I want to playthis game so bad, and I

(57:53):
wanted to be good. I reallywanted to be good. This is another
game that is coming out again thismonth. It comes out on the twenty
I mean sorry, next month. It comes out on the twenty first of
February, and it's called Bandletail,a League of Legend story and I want
to rebuild the world with Knitting Magic, and I want this game to be

(58:15):
good or I'm gonna cry or I'mgonna cry. So I got about three
weeks and uh, well no,for sure, got about three. Well
let's seeho I say the twenty firstsold three and a half four weeks because
you know, we still have sixdays left in this month. But yeah,

(58:37):
so that's that's mine. That's mynext one. And I couldn't resist
that that dig it Victoria and SilkSong. But I do it in love.
I do it in love. Allright, Victoria, what's your next
one? My next one is AvowedOh Oh, which is also ABD of

(59:01):
twenty twenty four. Yeah, so'sit's an obsidian RPG in the Pillars of
Eternity world and it looks like it'llbe a good time and it's it's it's
announced for twenty twenty, It's announcedfor twenty twenty four. It is it

(59:22):
sure is. Yeah. They talkedabout it in that last Xbox Developer Direct.
A lot of people I didn't Idon't know Pillars of Eternity, but
I heard a lot of people complainingthat it didn't feel like it was close
tied closely enough with Pillars of Eternityfor their liking. What did you How

(59:45):
do you feel about that one?I think it takes a little bit of
a different So it's Pillars of Eternitytends to take place like in in the
same spot, like right, it'sit's the same sort of storyline with one
and two and then, but thisone they're really pitching it as a different

(01:00:08):
island in the same universe. Butit's it's a different island, it's a
different area, it's somewhere new toexplore, and for me, that that's
enough to make it a difference. It's it's kind of it's kind of like
Fallout and you know, and inAbcity and developed, my favorite Fallout game,

(01:00:30):
but it's kind of the same takeof It's Fallout New Vegas, the
same game as in the same gameworld and is it Is it enough?
Is it similar enough to like fallOut three? And it's like, well,
of course, but it's Fallout threesimilar enough to fall Out two,
which it's not like they're not verysimilar games. They're in the same world

(01:00:53):
though, So to me, it'sthat same same argument of like, well
these aren't the same game, it'senough, and it's like, well,
it's a different take on the samesame universe, and I can be happy
with that. I enjoyed fall Outone and two. I enjoyed Fallout three
in New Vegas. I didn't enjoyFallout four, but Fallout four still belongs
in the same same universe, Ithink it. But it makes it kind

(01:01:19):
of makes sense, right, Imean, and I'll say why. I
think it makes sense right because, like I said, I am not versed
at all in Pillars of Eternity, and but I if it was too closely
kind of connected, I would feellike I couldn't play it because I was
not well versed in Pillars of Eternityone and two. Right. But knowing

(01:01:42):
that, and this is one ofthe things that I thought when people were
were like, it's not you know, close enough to and I was like,
oh good, then maybe I canplay it, right. That was
my first kind of reaction to hearingthat it was not like super close to
one and two, because I wouldI was just thinking it would be something
that I totally wouldn't even understand andI would miss out on something because of

(01:02:07):
it. So it makes sense inmy head to kind of resituate it kind
of in the same way that likethe new ESO elviscrolls online DLC, it's
like a like a standalone story, right. Did anybody else see that?
It looks like it's like a standalonestory there instead of just being DLC.

(01:02:28):
That adds, you know, tothis ever growing story that people are I
think when you have MMOs that havebeen around for a long time, it's
hard to bring new people in becausethere's so much content to catch up on
m and if they're gonna do thesemore modular things that still take place in
this MMO but are still like narrativelymodular, I think you can actually start

(01:02:52):
to bring people in for that modularbit and then keep them engaged so they
go out and do the old yourcontent as well. It just kind of
makes good sense, right, Yeah, And I think I think that's what
they're kind of trying to go forAnd that's that's why I liking it to
the Fallout universes, because you don'tneed to know what happened in three to

(01:03:13):
play or enjoy New Vegas. Andyou don't need to know what happened in
one or two. Yeah, Likeyou don't need to know what the get
chip is or the you know youjust you don't need to know that and
you can just pick up a gameand it drops you where you need to
be. And I'm I'm really hopinga VOW does that because I didn't get
into Pillars of Eternity too, andso I I am I'm looking I'm looking

(01:03:39):
forward to this sort of different takeon it, in this idea of the
same universe and expanding in that way. Mm hmm. I like modular things.
I like to be dropped into this. I mean it, I haven't
played ESO in years. I wouldnot even know where to start with.

(01:03:59):
It's kind of like Wow. Ihaven't played Wow in like ten years,
and if I started playing it again, I'd be like, WHOA, I
miss so much? Yeah, wellI'm about to. I'm about to jump
back into Wow. So I startedplaying Wow at launch that was twenty years
ago, and then about five yearsin Pe was born and you can't raid

(01:04:27):
with a new board, so Istopped playing, and for a while I
would jump back in whenever there wasa new expansion and like play the new
content and jump back out. Butlately, because I like collecting like mounts
and pets, or mounts and minions, which is what I collect in fourteen,

(01:04:47):
I've been wanting to just like runaround in the Wow universe and collect
like battle pets and mounts just forfun. I don't want to run the
content, run the anymore. Ijust want to have something to do.
I'd like to That's been my thing, like for the last year or so.

(01:05:08):
It's like to find games that Ican just like collect baits, right,
so collecting mouths and minions at fourteen, collecting camels and Call of Duty.
So I've been wanting to go backto World of Warcraft and do pet
amount collecting. So I've I've reupped my World of Warcraft subscription. Let's

(01:05:29):
see what happens. My favorite mountwas my tall Buck. I loved I
thought they were so pretty. Butthe fun mount was to have a mammoth
and then have the mammoth like ina small city, and so you're just
taking up the entire yeah, andpeople are trying to run around you,
and then it's like, sorry, mammoth in the way. Yeah, I

(01:05:53):
promise, I promised. My fifthpick actually does have a release date,
so okay, I'm excited to hearthis, right, Jordan, what's your
next one? My next ones areall honorable mentions, and some are theoretical,
so I can I love that youwould even worse than just a twenty

(01:06:17):
twenty date or twenty twenty four date. They may not exist, so I
could go through them one at atime, or I could go through all
them all at once. However youwant, well save one, save one?
Do you could do everything except one? Because we have one more round
after this perfect Okay, the nontheoretical ones, I'll do that one on

(01:06:42):
a batch because they're both related. Then comes out February fourteenth from aspir and
Crystal Dynamics, and that is thetomb Raider one through three remaster. Yes,
I am excited to play that bothas a kind of throwback but also

(01:07:02):
technically it's new for me. Again. I mentioned earlier that my best friend's
living with us for a while inLos Angeles, and she's the one that
introduced me to tomb Raider. Butthe first one I technically played was Anniversary
then Legend, so I haven't playedone through three. Oh, but I've
played a lot of the tomb Raidergames. So this will be an opportunity

(01:07:24):
for us to play together something thatis both simultaneously new and not new for
us. I'm excited. I'm excitedfor you. I can. I wish
I could. There are so manygame that is one tomb Raider. The
tom Rader games are games that Iwish I could play again for the first

(01:07:45):
time. I'm so excited for theone through three Masters. I'm working on
a tomb Rader research project right now, so whenever I'm working on that research
project, I like to immerse myselfin like the thing that I'm working on.
So I'm gonna use that as anexcuse. I'm gonna use research as
an excuse to just like lose myselfin the remasters of one through three because

(01:08:12):
it's been so long since I playedthem for the first time, like a
long time, like more than twentyyears, right, like way more than
twenty years. So I'm super I'msorry, I'm I'm moved back from the
mic because I got relaxed. I'msuper excited for that one. I'm super
excited for that one, all right. So my next one is Princess Peach

(01:08:36):
Showtime. I know that sounds reallyweird, but I have been waiting so
long for Princess Peach to have agood game of her own. I don't
know if people remember Super Princess Peach, which was the game where Princess Peach

(01:09:00):
uh kind of navigated the world andfought bad guys with her emotions. She
cried to make the flowers grow,She got hormonal and mad and burned things
because she would burst into flames. It was horrible. It was horrible.
It was like, and people arelike Super Princess Peach. I'm like,

(01:09:21):
that was the most misogynic, misogynistpiece of garbage I ever played. And
I'm sorry if you enjoyed Superprincess Peach, but that game made me so fucking
mad. So I'm excited for PrincessPeach Showtime because I wanted to I wanted

(01:09:42):
to be better. I want themto make up for all of the anger
I felt playing Superprincess Peach. That'swhat I want. So I'm excited for
that because I'm excited for the possibility. I'm excited for the possibility. Now,
if it is trash, I'm gonnabe mad and I'm gonna tell everybody
I'm mad. But it looks itlooks pretty cool because she has all of

(01:10:06):
these different like outfits that she putson. In the different outfits, you
know what, it reminds me of, Oh, what was it? Uh?
Balance Wonder World? Was Balance? Was that? What it was?
Balance Wonder World? The one whereyou could put on different outfits and do

(01:10:26):
different things. So it kind ofreminds me of that, And I wanted
that game to be really good andit was not. Not only was it
really bad Balance Wonder World not balandbut b A l A n baaland Wonder
World. But not only was thegame, the game itself and the gameplay
really bad, but it made mehorribly motion sick. So just like in

(01:10:50):
terms of having like the different outfitsand the different like levels that you could
do different things, like she's likeDetective Peage and then she's Ninja Peage and
then she Cowgirl Peach and they're allthemed. But then like some of the
stuff that I saw, like,uh, well last week when they started
to show something her different outfits andthey were like, here's here's like the

(01:11:13):
uh the pastry chef peach, andI was like, oh, But at
the same time, this looks likejust like crappy little mini games, and
I hope that's not what it is. I don't want it to be that.
I wanted to be something good,so we shall see. But it's
pretty high up on my list justbecause of the possibility. So yeah,

(01:11:34):
there's that. That one looks socute, doesn't it. I wanted to
be good. It's gotta be good. It's gonna be good, right,
y'all lie to me. It's gonnabe great, y'all lie to me.
And that's coming out pretty soon. That comes out next month, I believe,

(01:11:55):
right, not next month March.I want to say it's March,
I think, but I can doublecheck. But while I'm doing that,
Victoria, what's your next one?So I was I was gonna be very
extra about it and be like, huh, I lied it's Frost Punk two,

(01:12:16):
which is also TVD twenty twenty four. But I figured I should find
one that has a date because Ican't I can't live on hopes and dreams
for all of twenty twenty four.Yes, I could try. And so
it's Skull and Bones and that justcomes out next month. Them Oh I'm
gonna be a pirate. Oh mygosh. Okay, so I'm gonna cheat

(01:12:40):
and I'm gonna jump ahead for justa second, Jordan, because scull and
Bones is my number one. Twowell, scull and Bone, and I'm
gonna say scull and Bones. Whenit was first announced and like everything we
had seen until that closed beta thatwe recently had, I was like,
only doing is like what they madeit look like was just the the ship

(01:13:03):
part of Black Flag. As Iscreen Black Flag, yeah, and I
was like, I don't want toplay that. It's like driving on the
ocean and I can't drive in videogames, and nobody wants to do that,
and nobody wants to see me playthat, and I don't want to
see me play that. And thenthe close beta came out right and because

(01:13:27):
I'm uh, because I'm in thecontent creative program for Ubisoft, they were
like, Yo, anybody who wantsto put to be in the close BITA
just let us know. We'll sendyou codes. And I was like,
well, here's a good chance forme to just at least check it out
and see what it is. Andthey did a very poor job of selling

(01:13:48):
that game, because that is notwhat that game is at all. But
hear me out, I think Ithink that's purposeful because I remember when Black
Flag came out, like a Calmonjoke was I want less Assassins, creed
more Black Flag mm hmm. AndI think they really leaned into like a

(01:14:11):
Skull and Bones started as kind ofan expansion like standalone of just Black Flag,
and then they went from with itfrom there, and so I think
I think they just leaned into theless assassins, creed more Black Flag.
What that made me not want it? And I played that. I played
the close beta, and I leftthat close Beta going, oh my god,

(01:14:32):
I want this game now. Imean, because there's so much to
do, you know, there's somuch to do. It's like you're not
on You're not like barely I won'tsay barely on the ship, but you're
not on the ship all the time. You can like get clothes and you
can go and like party up withpeople and do stuff on land, and

(01:14:53):
it's like a real kind of RPGkind of game or action kind of game,
or it's more like an action RPGis what it is, right that
has like the sailing mechanics in itmm hmm. And my only hope is
that it doesn't develop such a toxicuser base as C Thieves. Yeah,

(01:15:16):
and and that is one hundred percent. That is my biggest fear. I
during the during the close beta,I did run into one time, like
me out doing stuff and like constantly, like repeatedly getting attacked by these like
two ships of folks that were clearlyplaying together and like trolling folks. But

(01:15:40):
what happened was like this other groupof folks came up and they were they
like invited me to party with them, and they saved my ass. It
does have that C of Thieves potential. It one hundred percent has that C
at the's potential, and that bothersme. I hope that there is like
some that they will have something therethat you can turn off the ability to

(01:16:02):
PvP, because that could ruin theentire game, because I was excited for
see if thieve would and see ifthese was first announced and the toxicity and
see if Thieves ruined that game forme? One hundred percent ruined that game
for me. I played it,you know, I played it for a
little bit at the beginning, thetoxicity kicked in and I never played it

(01:16:25):
again until they came out with thosestory modules, and even going back to
do the story modules, I waslike, no, I just can't.
It's just left a bad taste inmy mouth. I hope that they have
some kind of mechanics in place toprevent kind of that toxic trolling and Skull
and Bones, because otherwise they'll loseme so fast. They will lose me

(01:16:50):
so fast because I you know,I'm I don't want to say I'm an
adult, because there are lots ofadults that have like folks to play.
I don't have, Like my kidwon't play games like that, So I
don't have somebody at hand to justgo out and play those games with three.
I have to, like, Ihave to like make arrangements with people

(01:17:13):
like my friends to play these kindsof games, and we're all really busy,
so sometimes I'm stuck playing these gamesby myself if I want to play
them. And if I'm stuck bymyself playing these games, if I want
to play them, Having those kindsof interactions and not being able to play
when I want to play because I'malone will totally kill a game for me.

(01:17:40):
One hundred percent kill a game forme. There have been so many
games that I've been excited to playbut have not been able to play,
Like when my schedule allows that,I just stop playing all together. So
hopefully they can hopefully they can dosomething to make that not an issue.

(01:18:01):
But that's funny because, like Isaid, that was my number one two.
So when you said that, Iwas like, yayy okay, Jordan,
what you got do you have another? I think you said you have
one more or two more? Ihave two theoretical ones? Okay, okay,
that is the way to end.Oh my goodness. The text rules

(01:18:28):
were three to five, so allmine listed are six. So I broke
that rule and two are theoretical. It was like, how can I break
this even more? I will beso excited and happy if there is even
an announcement of a game from Teamseventeen for Overcooked three or Overcooked DLC,

(01:18:54):
or a new game altogether. I'malways there, very happy. And an
announcement from the Postionomics creators Voracious Gameson DLC potion Mics two a different game.
I don't know. I just knowI love both of those games very

(01:19:14):
much and I want more from thoseteams. Huhuh, So are you interested
in Played Up? As? Imean that might be a good like stop
gap. Played Up might be agood stop gap for Overcooked three. And
then there's a what's that? Whatis it? Magical delicacy? Might that

(01:19:36):
be? That's another one you mightlook at for a stop gap for Postionmics
two or Posonomics DLC. There wego. I don't know if you've seen
that, if those are on yourradar, but I want to put them
on your radar. But I wantto put them on your radar. Played
Up I saw it for the firsttime yesterday and I was interested. And

(01:20:00):
the people that I normally play Overcookedwith like, we are a very good
team. We have it streamlined,we know how to like work through problems
issues that arise. But when Iwas reading Played Up again, I haven't
looked too much into it, butI was reading, I was like,
this sounds fantastic, and also itmay be the thing that actually breaks us,
because who gets to design the restaurant, who gets to navigate these different

(01:20:27):
spaces? I don't know. Wegot a lot of big voices in this
room, so overcooked hooks out becausewe're just all cooking. We got the
goal, we're working towards it,and then played up. I was like,
this sounds so much fun, butyeah, it just it may be
the thing that breaks us. Idon't know. Oh, well that's good

(01:20:48):
though. Those are too good theoreticals. Those are two very good theoretical I
love it so much. All right, Well that's that is Victoria's one hundred
percent right. That is the perfectnote to end on. Thank y'all so

(01:21:09):
much. I cannot wait for allof these games to come out, even
victorious in two or three years.Wow, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
I'm so excited for so many ofthese games. So you know, we
should definitely, and I know wealways say this, We always say this,

(01:21:31):
and I don't think we ever reallydo it. We need to get
together and play some of these games. I know Victoria is interested in scull
and Bones. I don't know ifyou're interested in scull and bones, Jordan.
We should we should, we shouldgo out and sell the high seas
together. Let's be pirates. Well, we can be freaking pirates. I
mean, we can be the ones. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.

(01:21:54):
I'm not we can be the tustI almost said it all we'll slipped
out. I'm joking. I mean, I kind of am. We don't
have to tell nobody. I thinkwe should definitely be pirates together. I
think we should definitely be pirates together. I'm excited to be a pirate.
I'm excited to be a pirate. And there there's clothing and and that was

(01:22:17):
my biggest that was my biggest problemin the close Beta is that I spent
at by money on clothes. Sowe have to be pirates and go out
and steal things just so that Ican keep my wardrobe ve to day.
That's important. But I appreciate y'allfor having this conversation with me tonight and

(01:22:41):
talking about our upcoming our hopes forupcoming games, theoretical or not, and
like all, all five of mygames coming out within the next month is
just ugly. With the next monthor two, I think Princess Peach Cups
out in March in March. Butthanks so much, y'all. I appreciate

(01:23:02):
you all so with that that willbring us to the end of episode two
hundred and forty nine. So untilnext time when we hit episode two hundred
and fifty, I would like tosay thanks so much for hanging out y'all,
Stay stay warm, stay dry,and above all y'all. Gay one
