Speaker 1 (00:20):
Welcome to the Ohio.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Dirt Track Podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
My name is Clint Knight and my Jake Report and
we are back, surprise, surprise, after a very long tideous.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
I have no idea what episode this is, and it
doesn't even really matter. What I can't tell you is
that Trey Jacobs got on me in the pit Saturday
night at Attica and said, are you guys gonna record
podcasts or are you done with that or what? And I said, dude,
we will do it when I get home. Uh, So
that's what we're doing.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
We're back. We're gonna cram some in here for the
end of.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
The summer, into the summer, throughout the summer and get
some race covers for you. So yeah, it was a
lots of racing going on across Ohio to Pennsylvania this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I was at the track for the first time this year.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Jacob was at the track for probably the fifteenth time
this year, I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Sure, but it was. It was.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
It was a big weekend in sprint car racing and
in dirt track racing in general. Soon, Jacob, I haven't
let you say anything yet.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I have just been reeling on. How's it going, man,
we're living.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
We're living the dream, you know, coming off of three
races and three nights. Wish it was four races and
four nights, but you know, I'll take three races in
one weekend. It's I don't remember the last time I
was able to do that. So we're feeling tired, but
we're feeling good.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yes, the typical road warrior that never stays overnight hasn't
come home to the hub and then drive all the
way back out again, even if it's crisscrossing the state
worse than speed Week twenty twenty two or whatever it was.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I don't know, I just made that up, but you
know it's not speed Beast dragging everyone across the state
four times in a week.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
So Friday night Outlaw Rayce scheduled for Attica, gets postponed
to Saturday. I loaded up my kids in my tent
and we hit the We hit the fair Ground campground
Saturday afternoon, and it was it was a pretty good
show man. We had a blast. Got to get out
(02:29):
there and cook some hot dogs over the fire and
see the outlaws of Outlaws of Attica.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
That sounds kind of cold. Sleeping in a tent that night.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Thirty eight degrees, I believe is what we got to.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
But the boys were worn out and they didn't they
did not flinch at the cold, although my feet were
freezing and the trains were coming by. But otherwise the
campers were relatively quiet. I have noticed the last couple
of times that the in general, the campground at Attica
(03:03):
is is pretty tame. So it's a good good place
to take your kids. I take mine, they're eleven and seven,
and we have good times.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
I'm gonna say it was, uh, it was a good
time on Friday, Like you said, it was a good
time Friday. I'm glad or Saturday got Saturday? Oh man,
I'm all discombobulated, but yeah, Saturday is supposed to be Friday,
but you know, ended up being on Saturday. I don't
recall a time where yacht laws were able to ever
(03:36):
really do something like this and cancel or you know,
have one track cancel on Saturday, and have one cancel
on Friday and just move the Friday track to Saturday.
You know, that takes a lot of logistics to pull
that off. And thankfully a lot of people were already
you know, near Attica to uh, you know, be able
(03:56):
just to hang out nextra night and race on Saturday.
But man, it was, like I said, it was a
good time on Saturday. And why am I drawing a
blank on who won?
Speaker 1 (04:11):
That was Logan Shoe Logan Logan Shoe Heart won. Well, listen,
let's back up. How many What was the final Clark count?
I didn't see the final Clark count because I was
more considered with my kids riding their bikes around all
over the fair ground.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
I believe it was forty two, forty twos and I
think thirty one three fives, which is a lot of
three fives, but it's probably the lowest amount of three
fives ATA has had all year. But yeah, it was
Logan Shoeheart taking the win over Sheldon Hot and Shield.
Really good race. Would have been cool to see Sheldon win.
(04:49):
I don't think a couch would have been safe in
the Tray County radius if Sheldon would have won.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I know, it's like always the bride maid there.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Man, it's so frustrating.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
That place would still be burning. I would have justin
would have called me in to start replacing everything at
that track if Sheldon would have won.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
But man, I mean It was a good race.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
You know, they were sliding each other for the lead,
to swap the lead multiple times, and uh yeah, it
was eventually Logan getting his first Attica win.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, and I you know, it came down a couple
of different cautions happened there throughout the back half of
that race, and then there was an uh it was
a restart where I believe Sheldon got the front wheels
off the ground and Logan got around him, and then
that was kind of Sheldon might have got back around
him one more time there, but you know, once Logan
(05:45):
got out front, it was it was all over.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
He was God on a rail. But it was a
good show, you know.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
It was you know, typical Attica.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
You know.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Thankfully we were able to uh you know, get everyone
in and out and decent time, you know, just you know,
with the chili temperatures coming in, you know, we wanted
to try and get people out at a decent time,
and I think we were able to do that. So
I think we had a lot of happy a lot
of happy campers. Friday nights. Gosh, Friday Saturday night at Attica. Yeah,
(06:18):
it feels weird saying Saturday night at Attica.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
The energy in the crowd was good. Everybody.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
There were some first timers sitting around me. It was
the first time was camping next to me, which I
thought was pretty awesome too that you know, it was
the first time at the dirt track and they came
and sit the whole night.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
So nice.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
So that was Saturday. We were in Attica Saturday, and
then Sunday you.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Hit the road. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Sunday I went to Wayne's Field. I probably haven't been
to Wayne's Field in two or three years. It was
Rich and Shelley's Farmers first race as promoters of Waynesfield,
and I figured I'd give them a shot because they
deserve it. And let me tell you, I was super
(07:12):
impressed with Wayneesfield. It was that's the best I have
seen that track in a long time, probably at least
five six, seven years. It really wasn't any dust, it
wasn't taking rubber. Everything was moving at a breakneck pace
(07:32):
and it started on time.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I was.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
I hate going to Sunday races because I'm always finding
the Sunday races at start late and everything drags on forever,
and then I get home late and have to go
to work early.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Monday morning.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
But I was home before ten o'clock Sunday night, and
I have I think an hour fifteen minute drive home
from Wayneesfield, and I was home before ten. Heat races
started right at seven o'clock, and I think the three
the Great Lakes three sixty feature was pushed on track
(08:12):
at like seven fifty three, so it was before eight o'clock.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
So did they did they even turn the lights on?
Speaker 4 (08:20):
I think they probably had to for like the four
Banker trucks that I mean, that was that was a
legitimate thought that crossed my mind Sunday night, was like,
you know, they might not have to turn the lights
on if they keep moving at this pace. And I'm
sure Farmer would have liked that because they would have
saved them some money on the electric bill, you know.
(08:42):
I mean, if you can run in the fishing show
and not turn the lights on, heck and do it,
you know, pocket that money that you save on the
electric bill. But yeah, after after the three sixty feature,
I ended up taking off. I didn't stick around for
the mods or the four Banker trucks, just because I
knew I had to work on Monday and I was
(09:03):
going to have a long day on Monday driving down
to Atomic, but it was Devon Adobe taking the win.
I think he led all twenty five laps. I hated
to see Chase stun him. He flipped pretty big there
during the future. He had the perfect night going. He
was quickest in hot laps, quickest and qualifying and I
(09:24):
won his heat race, but he ended up flipping down
the front stretch. Not what you want to see. But yeah,
I was dev Adobe getting the win over Brian Sabido
and it was a really good race, and like I said,
I could see everything because there wasn't any dust, and
(09:45):
you know, things just moved really well. I was super,
super impressed with Wainsfield on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I'm glad.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I'm happy to hear that I did not make it
to that event, but I'm looking forward to getting over
there this year and I was really hoping that that
things were going to go smoothly from minute one for
the new promoters and operations team over there. So that's
exciting news. If Jacob's happy, I think everybody.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Should be happy.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Oh man, I've had so many bad experiences at Wayneesfield
in the last few years, and I was just over
the moon to have a good night at Waynefield because
that track is a gem and they're gonna treat it
like the gem that it is. So I think Waynesfield
might be back.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
That's good to hear, very good to hear.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
And I know there's a lot of other people excited
to hear that too, or if you were there, excited
to see that on Sunday afternoon. I'm not gonna say
Sunday night because it sounds like you guys got out
of there early evening.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Oh, it was great. Every track should do that, strive
and not turn the lights on.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
So that was Sunday, and it was a yeah that
you know, there was an old uh what was the
old commercial, We'll leave the lights on for you, yeah, hotel,
chain motel. This should be a racetrack slogan that we're
not even gonna need the lights or we're gonna leave
the lights off for you. Yeah, because we're gonna get
(11:14):
you out of here.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Before it's too dark. I'd love it. Uh.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
So that Sunday, Waynesfield holiday weekends and we had more
racing on Monday and then you had a down seventy
one towards the other end of Ohio.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Spent some spend some time down in the southern hills
of Ohio where there is no service, minus like two
or three seats in the top of the grand stands
and turn three, and unfortunately those seats are taken, so
I wasn't able to do my normal tweeting. But that's
all right. But yeah, it was an interesting night at
(11:54):
Atomic Speedway. Still had a good had a really nice
field of cars, and I had mentioned it in my
four to ten preview season preview that I thought this
was going to be the year that Cole Duncan finally
got his first World of Outlaws win out Atomic, and man,
(12:17):
he was close and you could just kind of feel
it throughout the night, you know, Cole, I think he
went out he was like third to last or second
to last and is qualifying and he went out and
he's still had a really good qualifying lap and he
was able to make the the dash and he redroke
(12:39):
redrew the poll for the dash, won the Dash, so
he was going to start on pole for the feature,
but this wasn't wasn't in the cards. I think, honestly,
I think he would have been better off finishing second
in the dash because I think the top was going
to be the place to be on the start, and
Carson Messio prove that, and Mefita led all twenty five
(13:02):
laps in the rubber to take the win, his fiftieth
World of Outlaw win on his twenty ninth birthday. It
was Chris Wyndham with his best Outlaw went our Best
Outlaw finish and second after Cole tagged the wall and
turned four going for the win on the last lap.
(13:22):
Cole ended up third, but as as Cole mentioned in
his interview down on the front stretch, it really didn't matter.
He was only going for the win, so third place,
second place, it didn't matter. He wanted to win. But yeah,
I enjoyed myself at Atomic and there are probably a
(13:44):
lot of people that didn't enjoy it, or people that
were watching online that didn't enjoy it, But I enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
I mean lots of grumbling on the internet about you know,
the track additions or taking rubber or you know, they'll
be upset if they paid money to go see that.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
But I mean.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
My opinion is if you're not there, if you didn't
pay money and you didn't make the drive to see it,
then you got half the experience. I mean, streaming is great.
It is a great option for those of us who
can't make it. But I mean, I'm not gonna I'm
not going to bash a track if I didn't drive there.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
To see it, you know what I mean. I think
that's that's a little frustrating for me to see.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
People to say, you know, I would be mad if
I drove there, Well you didn't, so don't be mad
and stop stopping blatant on the internet.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
He could have turned it off and not watched, Like, no,
I'm going to sit here and be mad, you know. Yeah.
I mean I've I mentioned to you, Clint, that I'm
going to go on a rant, and I think this
is where I'm going to go on the rant, like
I don't know, Jeff Gluck style, maybe on the from
(15:02):
the Teardown NASCAR Teardown podcast. But I mean, you look
at our weather conditions here in the state of Ohio,
and I don't envy track prep people at all because
there are many places, you know, across Ohio that would
(15:23):
have benefited from building an ARC. This spring, it's just
been raining, raining, raining, and it puts the track prep
crew on a tough spot and they have basically two
options for the racetrack on race day, and they both
are pretty risky. Both carry the risk of you know,
(15:47):
having a bunch a bunch a bunch of complaints from
people there and people not there. So basically, their option
A is, you know, the track crew can pack the
track surface and super hard, you know, or you know,
as some may call it, like sealing it over or
(16:08):
sealing it up so that when it does rain, that
rain doesn't soak into the track surface. Has much The
benefit is that keeps this track smoother and drier, But
the the con is you're gonna run the risk of
rubber at some point in the night. Option B is
(16:33):
you know, you're gonna till the track open, allowing that
rain to soak in and soften the surface. That softer
surface then you know, runs the risk of running up
and creating that rough track, which could lead to a
lot of crashes. And Atomic Speedway is a very very
(16:56):
very fast track alone or you know, on a normal night,
and if you have a heavy, wet, runned up track,
I mean it's just flat out dangerous, you know. I
was at the All Star season finale in twenty sixteen
or twenty seventeen where we had I mean twelve or
(17:17):
fifteen red flags that night because you know there was
a little rough and guys just they just kept crashing
and kept flipping and how to hate to know how
much money was spent on broken parts that night. You
can also ask Briton Marvel, you know how you know
(17:39):
how it goes when Atomic is rough and heavy, Or
you can ask the guy that Britain Marvel's car hit
in the grandstands that night after he flipped to the fence
and landed in the grandstands.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
You know if.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
It sucks because if you have that rough track and
cars get torn up, people complain. If they make it
so that the track is you know, smooth but is
going to might take rubber, people are going to complain.
I think I think Atomic made the right choice and
sealing up that track because it would have given them
(18:15):
the best the best chance at a good feature and
not tearing up equipment. Because you look at these outlaw guys.
They race in North Dakota Friday Saturday, and that's seventeen
hours away from Atomic, and the last thing they want
(18:35):
to do is be building a new car while also
trucking to North Dakota from Ohio, it wouldn't be any fun.
So you know, I don't blame Atomic for choosing to
seal up the track surface, but it just didn't work out,
you know, and the track ended up sucking and taking rubber.
(18:58):
But on the flips that it's what Attica has done
the last couple of weeks, because again, we could have
built an arc in Attica with all the rain that
we've gotten. So two weeks ago for our one regular show,
I mean, it was sealed up super hard and it
was super slick, super dry, and super slow and caught
(19:21):
a lot of people off guard. But if they don't
seal that track up, there's no race because the track
would be undriveable, you know, it wouldn't be safe, and
guys would be complaining. And then flash forward to Saturday
night at Attica with the Outlaws. You know, we kind
of had the same deal where we had the track
(19:42):
pack decently hard, but the cars ended up breaking through
that seal and that's when the track started getting some
of that, you know as the outlaw Outlaw drivers caught
it character in the track and started getting a little
rough because that they broke through into that softer dirt
and that softer dirt obviously ruts up a little easier,
(20:06):
and you know, it makes them put their cowboy spurs
on during the feature, during the heat races, whatever. So
you heard a lot of people, a lot of drivers say,
you know Attica had that character on Saturday night. The
last thing Atomic Speedway needs is character. You know that
that place needs to be smooth, or else you're flipping
(20:30):
half the field and tearing up so much equipment and
everyone's upset. So basically, Atomic was in a no win
situation and everyone was going to be upset no matter what.
And they made the right choice in making that track smooth.
It just it didn't work out and it took rubber,
(20:51):
which sucks, but they made the right choice.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
I think.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Yeah, I mean, smooth is the character of Atomic. I
mean that is you know, before I went there, you
know the videos.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
I saw, That's what I saw, and that's.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Why I wanted to go there because it was different.
It was different than the tracks I'd been to. It
looked like a completely different driving strategy, management strategy from
behind the wheel, and that was the character of that
track that attracted me to it. So yeah, I mean,
you you make a completely logical point you got, you
(21:28):
take the risk, you know your track, you.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Know your service, and you do the tactics.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
I guess that you have at your disposal to keep
that to keep the characteristics of that track what it is.
And like you said, there's there's a risk there. We've
talked about this before over the years. I mean, the
fact is this is an outdoor sport. It's we're on dirt,
you know, like it is, it is what it is.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
There's going to be a challenge and do the best
you can.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
I don't believe that any notable track staff is just
gonna go let's see how bad we can make it
or I don't really care, you know what I mean,
Like that.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Just does that that's not realistic now.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
So yeah, sometimes you make the right call, sometimes you
make the wrong call.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
And I think as race fans, we have to be
prepared to go, yeah, well it happened, you know what
I mean, like and and not necessarily point the finger.
I don't know if I mean, that's not gonna stop,
anything's gonna change anything.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
But now.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
It's you know, are there times that people that pointing
the finger and saying this is your you know, so
and so's fault you got on the water got in
the water truck, and I mean I heard that in
the bleachers Saturday night at Ataka, Like.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Why are you going put the water truck back? You know?
Speaker 1 (22:53):
So, I mean it's just the nature of the sport,
I guess, And yeah, I mean yeah, So I appreciate
your your take on that, and not only your take,
but your technical your technical explanations of it.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
I mean, when you talk to the people in charge
of jack prep, like you kind of you know, you
learn what they're doing and why they're doing it, and
it makes sense, like and there's you know, the typical
race hand isn't going to go and talk to the
track prep people. They just are going to go on
(23:29):
the internet and bash because it's easier to do that
and not you know, actually talk to somebody who knows
what they're actually doing. So it's unfortunate. You know, I
don't think Atomic was Atomic was in a no win
situation last night Monday night. But you know, I hope, hopefully, yeah,
(23:52):
laws will come back to atomic and we won't have
you know, God knows how much rain and we can
get you know, normal surface and you know, atomic will
be great. I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
I mean it's there's gonna be some amazing shows there.
It might not be sprint cars, you know this Summer
there may it may be one of the other shows
that comes through that are gonna be amazing. But like
like we said, it's this is nature and we're dealing
with nature. And I mean, Cody Summer will tell you
that nature could completely ruin an entire race season, uh
(24:30):
you know, and not just a race season, but I
think entire race adventure.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
It can happen. So you do what you can, and
we as fans.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Have to have some grace in this and say, you know,
we know what we're coming to see, we know what
the risk is.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
I thought you said you were I thought you said
you were gonna go on the rant. Now I'm ranting.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
This is everyone's allowed to rant. As long as you
have valid points and facts to back up your points,
you can rant.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Now I sound like every person on Facebook. I just
I just yeah, it's it's it's fascinating to me. And
there's yes.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I mean, do I sit in the bleachers and go,
why are you getting that piece of equipment out right now?
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Have I ever been on a piece of equipment on
a track. No, but I have to fight it and go.
They know what they're doing, you don't be quiet, you
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Right?
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Or at least they know more, they know more about
what they're doing than I do.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
But you know, race fans are going to race fans
and or you know, be race fans. But that's what
we all are, race fans, and we just correct.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
We want we're passionate. Go ahead, yeah, I mean we're
passionate about it.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
We want the best show possible and we want we
want everybody.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
To experience that with us. So we all you know,
we all go through up, so we all go through down.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
The low points, right, you know, we want every every
feature to be sliders, each and every lap and you know,
photo finishes. But it ain't all strippers and unicorns sometimes,
you know.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
It's not. It is not.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
Sometimes it's rubber down and sometimes it's caution flags every
two and a half last.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Right, hey, we had both of those this week.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Oh enough about this weekend. What do you got this
past weekend? What do you got coming up this weekend?
Where are you gonna be?
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Where? What are you looking forward to?
Speaker 4 (26:39):
I'm gonna be I'm gonna be my normal Attica Friday
night for the a f c S. Always a good
time hanging out with the a f CS crew and
the tower there at Attica. A lot of laughter and uh,
you know, it's just a great series. And then I'm
going on Saturday. I'm going to Quiet all the Haters
(27:03):
aka Derek beIN, and I'm going to the High Limit
Race at Butler for the Mace Thomas Classic. So it'll
be my first trip to Butler since I think twenty
sixteen when there was a fast show that got rained
out and I watched Rich Farmer almost get a road
grader stuck on the track. So hopefully we have a
(27:24):
little better weather on Saturday, and hopefully Derek has a
really nice tailgate going and we get to watch a
pretty pretty good feature up at the Butler Battle Grounds,
which continually are going through great improvements. So I'm excited
(27:46):
to get back up there for basically what's going to
be my first time. And yeah, that's I think that's
I think that's everything I have going on this weekend,
minus you know, race car wise, at least, when.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Are the All Stars back at it? When do they
come back?
Speaker 4 (28:04):
They go to Williams Grove and link, and I think
June sixth and the June seventh, which is Friday Saturday,
and then the week after it kicks off Ohio Speed Week.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Okay, yeah, so we're we're about to roll into the
real thick of it. It's gonna be a ton of
stuff to see, go see or watch on the stream
your favorite streaming service from all over the country. They're
all going to be running at the same time, and
it's gonna be a lot of sprint cars going on.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
It's great in late models. We can't forget about late.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Models, yes, lots of I haven't gotten into it yet
this summer. I always, for some reason, it's always like
mid June when I dive into late model world. And
I don't know why, but there's just a lot of
a lot of moving around. It's been hard to keep
up with it this year, don't. I don't know how
(29:01):
Justin Feeler keeps up with all the stuff that he does,
but he gives me. He gives me my late model news.
And then, like I said in a couple of weeks here,
once my my kids baseball season slows down, I'll dive
into that too.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
I can only handle so much at.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
Once, right I understand that. I will note though, I
think I've seen seven Late Model features this season, and
Rusty schlank Is won each and every one of them.
I think he's I believe he's six for six at
Attica and I went over to Motpellier, Indiana for I
(29:43):
think it was an Ultimate Heart of America Super Late
Model Series show, and he won that too, because why not.
So I'm still kind of waiting for my cut of
these winning checks to show up Rusty. But I don't
know if he's want to race that. I haven't been
at so I'm not saying I'm the key, but.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Hey, there's a common there's a common denominator, and it's
me rus So help me out.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Or at least a shirt.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
All right, So more racing this weekend. That's That's about
all I've got.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
What else? Do you have anything else?
Speaker 4 (30:26):
Jacob shout out Aaron Rzell for Oh yeah, I know
you did talk about right, So.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
I did want to tell I was gonna I was
gonna love it or hate it.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
There were tons of booze and he took it completely astride.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
So Jacob, love it or hate it, I know where
I'm at on this.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
I absolutely love it.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
He's the villain and he's embracing it. And I mean,
I hate to say it because I don't like Denny Halen,
but his post race antics are like Denny hay One
and his you know, I just beat your favorite driver,
except you know, Aaron is you know, a better racer
than Denny and doesn't whine and complain as much. But yeah,
(31:13):
you know the whole I can't hear you because there's
too much money in my ears. I was just perfect perfection.
I mean, if there's one group of people that you
want to make mad, it's the Pennsylvania Posse because they
are just absolutely rabid and they will never ever forget
(31:35):
that that the guy that they hate so much just
went and won the first ever one hundred thousand dollars
to win race in Pennsylvania sprint car history and they
have to live with that forever.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Now I'm here for all of it. I mean, there
was a.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Time when I felt like his I questioned his character
and personality. But I mean this year, I listen, if you,
if you booed, get ready to do a lot more
of it, because he is going to win more races
this year, and he's.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Gonna make more people upset. Oh yeah, they're they're they're
onto something. That team is onto something. They're fast, and
he's wheeling that car.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
I ended up becoming an Aaron Rights whul fan back
when he first got in the Ridge and Soon's car.
You know, he had just gotten fired from the the
Roth car, I think because of the whole chassis thing.
And he came to Ohio with that carter on the
Attica ambush and then the Pete Jacobs Memorial that Sunday night,
(32:42):
and he ended up winning the Pete Jacobs Memorial and
people are booing them and he just embraced it. And
it's like, yep, you have to respect a guy that
you know, embraces the hate like that, and you know,
forever reason it just it just makes me a fan.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I I asked him if he would talk to us
at one of them, I think it was the Attica
that week, and he was like nope, And I was like,
you know.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
What, I can respect that.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
A lot of people want to ask you a lot
of questions right now, but I totally get it, and
I respect album. I'm going to go back over to
the other side of the track and watch the races.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
So it didn't hurt my feelings one bit. Yeah, so
if you're listening, I know you don't remember that, but
totally cool.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
What a guy.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Yeah all right, Uh well, I think that's it for
this week. Get back to it this weekend, and then
maybe we'll reconnect and get another episode out. Let's make
sure we do that, man. Let's let's let's let's continue

coming up and life was going to be different later

Speaker 4 (33:52):
So I'll be home more I can do, you know.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Yeah, making bottles and changing diapers.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
You know, I'll learn, I'll learn the multitask like that,
I think, you know.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Hopefully good deal.
