(00:21):
new podcast, The Circle of Fear, available wherever you listen to your podcast,
be sure to check it out. Here's a little excerpt. In the

(00:43):
late hours of the night, deepinto the dark recesses of the lonely woods,
we gather around the campfire to hearchilling stories of mystery, suspense,
and horror. Welcome to the Circlea Fear. The following stories are alleged

(01:23):
to be true and are assumed tobe so until proven otherwise. Welcome to
chilling true home alone Stories. Partone. I had just moved into my

(01:57):
first apartment. It was around eightthirty PM, and I heard the door
knob moving like someone was putting akey in it and turning and knocking.
At first, I got really excitedthat my then boyfriend was home, but
then realized it was only eight thirtyand he was due home from work around

(02:19):
ten thirty, so I looked outthe kitchen window and didn't see his car
or anyone's car I had known parkedoutside. That's when I panicked the doorknob
kept moving for a few more seconds, and then stopped a few minutes later.
They had some piece of metal theywere sticking between the door, trying

(02:44):
to open it. I freaked outat this point and locked myself in the
bathroom with a knife and called nineto one one. They tried to pride
the door open for about three minutesbefore they stopped. The police surveyed the
area and found an elderly man roamingaround with a knife and a crowbar.

(03:08):
He used to live in that apartmentand he wanted his stuff back that we
stole when we moved in. Iwas told he was really delusional. I'm
so thankful and glad I didn't answerthe door once I realized it was no
one I knew. To this day, my heart stops when someone knocks on

(03:35):
my door. I wasn't technically homealone. My friend was spending the night
at my house while our parents stayedthe night at a resort about an hour
away. I say technically because shefell asleep around eleven pm. I was

(04:00):
fifteen at the time, she wasfourteen. I was still up watching low
budget sci fi movies on TV andeating cold pizza. As it neared one
am, I started getting a reallyweird feeling. I couldn't put my finger

(04:21):
on it. I just felt uncomfortable. I ignored it for a while until
it got unbearable, and I realizedthat it felt like someone was watching me.
My dad had been fixing some windowsaround the house during the day and

(04:44):
had removed a bunch of the blinds, making for an unobstructed view into the
house, but we lived in aquiet suburban neighborhood at the time, so
no one thought anything of it.I got up to walk around, trying
to take my mind off what Iwas feeling. But as I neared the

(05:05):
window on the other side of theliving room, where I had been sitting
all night and my friend was stillsleeping, I saw something weird on the
glass, A foggy spot maybe sixinches in diameter, and it was getting
bigger, then shrinking, then growingagain every second. At the time,

(05:32):
I was so wired with paranoia thatI couldn't figure out what it was.
I put my face just an inchfrom the window, studying it, and
called out for my friend. Itold her to hit the switch for the
security lights. The foggy spot wasbreath and I was staring into a man's

(05:56):
face just on the other side ofthe glass, only centimeters away from it.
My friend ran into the kitchen screaming, while I stumbled backward in shock.
I scrambled for my phone and calledmy parents and grabbed the knife still
on the coffee table from dinner andheld it up in a shaking hand.

(06:19):
He pressed his palm against the window, still staring at me, and then
disappeared into the dark. My neighbors, shot guns in hand, showed up
in less than two minutes my parentshad called them. They stayed with us
until our parents arrived. No onefound anything of the man, except for

(06:46):
footprints in the garden bed. Wemoved. A few months later. I
was staying at a family friend's cabindeep in the woods. It had a

(07:11):
large deck that had about a footof fresh snow on it. I had
been cooking and messing around in thekitchen that you can't see the deck from
I'm walking around turning off lights andnoticed multiple sets of footprints walking from the
woods up onto the deck, upto the door, then all over the

(07:38):
deck and back into the woods.I stayed up with my dog all night
and left at first light. Mybrother and I were home alone from school

(08:01):
because we were sick. We hada craft room in the mostly unfinished basement,
and we were down there playing withminiatures. Around noon, we heard
very clearly the front door unlocked, open clothes, and someone walk in shoes

(08:26):
across the foyer tile to the kitchenand turn on the sink. They then
turned off the sink and went upthe stairs to the second floor. I
figured it was my step died andcalled my mom to let her know he

(08:46):
came home from lunch. She hadjust gotten off the phone with my step
died and knew he was in hisoffice at work. She called him back
and he cam ripping home while wehid in the basement. Although we never

(09:07):
heard the person come back down thestairs, we didn't find anyone in the
house. All right. Well,be sure to check out the full episode
over of my new podcast, TheCircle of Fear. And as I've mentioned

(09:33):
