episodes of the Superman radio program. For Superman Saturdays, we
are going to wrap up the airplane Disasters at bridger

Now, Superman strange visitor from another world Champion of the
Week and the oppressed who walks the earth as a
man among men, in the character of Miles Clark Kent,
news reporter for the Daily Planet. When we last saw him,
Kent was still investigating the cause of mysterious airplane crashes
at lonely Bridger Field in the Southwest with young Jimmy Olsen,

the grounds of the law backed circus at Del Rio
in the hope of finding the connection between the accidents
and the strange figure of Professor Hagen, apparently a simple
animal trainer, in reality an inventor of terrible and deadly machines.
Professor Hagen's underground hideout, they had been surprised by Podor,

a strong man of the tent Show, but Fodor was
no match for Superman. As our story continues today, Jimmy
has emerged from his hiding place in the closet and

you know, these weather reports must be funny because it's
talking about gals, and we didn't get any gales. We
just got dust storms. And it's like, oh, what do
you think causes dust storms? I don't know, But at

any rate, Clark surmises that Hagan is hatting out in
the hills and bringing down these planes as they approach
bridge or Field. We also have this interesting part in
the tunnels where Hagan is talking to Clark and Clark

is talking in his Superman voice, and then he starts
busting through the walls and everything, and then that interaction
with ford Or And does that mean that Hagen knows
that Clark Kent is Superman once Superman shows up. I
don't know. It's it's interesting, but we've got one more

episode left in this storyline, and so they've got one
one more time to wrap things up here. All right, folks,

about this episode. They just kind of wrap it up,
you know, and as I said, Superman swoops in and
saves the day, and we are promised at the very end,
we're promised that a mysterious story is up next, and

going to be the Buffalo Hills storyline, and this will
be another six part storyline. I think we are at
that point in the show where Joan Alexander, who plays
the role of Lois Lane, has been let go or fired,

and so they don't have a Lois Lane right now,
but here in a few storylines, John Alexander will reprise

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Now, Superman strange visitor from another world Champion of the
Week and the oppressed who walks the earth as a
man among men, in the character of Miles Clark Kent,
news reporter for the Daily Planet. When we last saw him,
Kent was still investigating the cause of mysterious airplane crashes
at lonely Bridger Field in the Southwest with young Jimmy Olsen,
(02:28):
copy boy on the Daily Planet. He had gone to
the grounds of the law backed circus at Del Rio
in the hope of finding the connection between the accidents
and the strange figure of Professor Hagen, apparently a simple
animal trainer, in reality an inventor of terrible and deadly machines.
Professor Hagen's underground hideout, they had been surprised by Podor,

a strong man of the tent Show, but Fodor was
no match for Superman. As our story continues today, Jimmy
has emerged from his hiding place in the closet and
gazing of awe at the unconscious figure of this strong man.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Crumpled down the floor in the corner.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Suddenly, an exclamation from Superman, now back in his character
of Clark Kent, brings him to the table which holds
Professor Hagen's radio.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Listen, Jimmy, if I'm not mistaken, this piece.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Of paper here on the table is just what we're
looking for.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
What do you mean? What's on the paper, mister Kent.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
It's that weather report we heard in the radio when
we came in. Look here, read it, Jimmy, read it
out loud. Listen, mister Kent, no fool, and we haven't
got time for that stuff. I think we have read
it on important storm coming, special precaution for planes we'll
meet arriving rains near midnight, set all masters signals which

say take shelter, must avoid win, not try to miss.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
That is wrong. What's it all about anyway? Make much sense?
Speaker 6 (03:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I suppose it's.

An ordinary weather report, all right, I wonder.
Speaker 2 (03:55):

It's another report when I heard at the airport just
before the dust storm for mister Puller's plane came in
and went up in planes. Listen, Jimmy, mister can't what
about photo. He's beginning to move. Look he won't move far.
Get this, Jimmy, and see if it means anything. Now listen,
storm coming planes will meet arriving gales in next or
possibly few hours or minutes. They should use precautions for

that there haven't been any gales or rains or anything
at all except the dust storm, which he didn't even mention.
So what so these weather reports either aren't much good
or they aren't weather reports at all. There's something else,
mister Kent' what do you mean? I think it's a
cold Jimmy. Now, let's see. Try crossing out every.

Other word that's show. No, that doesn't help. What about
every third word, Jimmy, I believe that's it.

the first message here, the one I heard at the airport.
If you take every third word, it reads planes arriving

Almost at once. President Puller's plane did come in. But
it's his plane, that's all right. They'd understand. Not for

It's the one Puller spoke about, a special, brand new
mystery ship, the one they've been experimenting on for a month.

That ship wasn't expected at bridger Field till day after tomorrow,
but apparently it's coming tonight, tonight at midnight, mister Kent,

of breaking the plane. That's the one thing we don't know.

of Bridger Field.

you out of here, up to the shack. Help you go, Jimmy,

is the cabin from which Professor Hagen plans swift and
deadly destruction of the airplanes at bridger Field. And Superman
get there in time to prevent tragedy. And what of Jimmy,

All Right, welcome back, everybody, Well, Clark Kent and Jimmy
figure out that the weather reports are phony and that
they're really secret code, and they found out that the
mystery airplane is arriving by midnight that night. I still

get cracked up because here again Clark was talking about,
you know, these weather reports must be funny because it's
talking about gals, and we didn't get any gales. We
just got dust storms. And it's like, oh, what do
you think causes dust storms? I don't know, But at
(12:28):
any rate, Clark surmises that Hagan is hatting out in
the hills and bringing down these planes as they approach
bridge or Field. We also have this interesting part in
the tunnels where Hagan is talking to Clark and Clark
(12:49):
is talking in his Superman voice, and then he starts
busting through the walls and everything, and then that interaction
with ford Or And does that mean that Hagen knows
that Clark Kent is Superman once Superman shows up. I
don't know. It's it's interesting, but we've got one more
(13:11):
episode left in this storyline, and so they've got one
one more time to wrap things up here. All right, folks,

trail by muleback, and also on the tiny cabin in
which Pagan makes his deadly machine.

What exactly does he do? The capable pedro over here

no trace of this mystery ship at all.

Mister Hammond, there is anything up there, We've got to
find it in the next seven minutes. Better let me
go ahead, Jimmy, especially when we get to the show.

The rocks, their hamlets coming straight forward and all that
you quick, Jimmy, Now that behind.

Down from the top of the mountain, hurdles the mass
of rock and there. But suddenly another sound fills the air,
a great rushing of wind. Superman comes drinking over the trail.

It's Jimmy, gimme and that hamlin.
Speaker 10 (20:05):
They're right out of that slide down down. If she jumps,
I can divide that slide right here and go jump
the shelf. But never touched them now because she is
right in the middle. For me, it's demiding. They're gonna

For Hagen, it's just time to stop him before midnight.

the fields, coming like a lightning board. Let's the hook.

And when it hits the Hagen teleplamee, it will be
even more like a lightning board, Carl, it will burst
into flames like a meteor. Now I start, I started
to tell aplae.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Hear it. I hear it's playing. Oh no, don't be ridiculous.
You can hear it. You hear a teleplane. Boom, It's
not a teleplane. It's something else right over my hits.
It doesn't look Look now then the plane is above
the field. Should bring the movies up so we can see.
I watched, Carl, watch them to the man, the man.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Drop that machine.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Got it off for that, Carl stopping get you, I said,

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Now, no it's not late. Just watch the take and
pick up Margine. Carl, stop him shooting, playing man, haven't
it coming down? Stop you go up?

Oh boy, that was a barrow escape as that lot
slide almost godess mo to Hammon, what about the cabin?
Speaker 7 (23:08):
Where is it?

Mind the cabin? Looked down the valley toward the field. Jimmy,
look the plane.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
I see it's lights the plane.
Speaker 7 (23:16):

Look, she's circling for a landing. She's coming down, Hamon,
What she goes up?
Speaker 6 (23:22):
Now?

Why does she catches fire the cabin? Meant for the
cab on it's too late for that. She's got a chance.
Wait a minute, look, Jimmy, look look that down. They've
made it. They've landed in a safe Jimmy, they're safe.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
By her voice like Ken, mister Ken, darling, where did
you come off the other trail?
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Did you see what happened?
Speaker 9 (23:42):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Ken? Did we? We just watched it plane safe and
sounded bridge of her with the cabin, mister Ken? What
about the cat Oh the cabin, it's right up ahead.
I've just come from there. You're head. Well what about
professor Hagen?
Speaker 7 (23:54):
Was he there?
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Did he have a machine? Oh? Yes, yes, he went
there all right and he had his mission? All right?
All right? Then what happened? Hammon? I don't know. Something
must have gone wrong.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Instead of hitting the plane, Pagan's machine hit Hagan and
then destroyed the cabin.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Whatever it was, it's gone now, Haagan and his machine
are finished.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Forever, Ken, Are you sure of that? Absolutely positive? As
a promise now when you say we get back down
there and see what this mystery ship looks like. Hey,
Jimmy and I have a swell story to file for
our paperback east Oh boy, say we have.

about this episode. They just kind of wrap it up,
you know, and as I said, Superman swoops in and
saves the day, and we are promised at the very end,

but here in a few storylines, John Alexander will reprise
her role as Lois Lane. Right now, it's just Clark
and Jimmy though, and a little bit of Perry White
