you guys see it, but you guys don't really see it,
but now you see it. We are hosting this episode
at a cellar restaurant here in Boston, Massachusetts, on Tremont
(01:27):
off of Tremont Street. What street is this, Temple Temple Street? Yeah,
this is Temple Street, guys, I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Dope.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Atmosphere very inviting, it's it's it's it's like a hub
for the community. I feel like this is one of
those places where, like if you want to get a
quick date, you know what I mean, not really quick date,
but like if you come to the Boston proper, like
if you're traveling or something like that, this is a
nice little restaurant. What you think? What you thinking about?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
You want to take your wife out on the town.
You want to come to sellars?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Oh yeah, word, I feel like you're doing a commercial.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
You're gonna catch a little vibe. You're gonna go home
and it's gonna be a good night. But first and foremost,
I want to thank God also A Stellers for letting
his host podcast here.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Only he can lift you up, bring you out, take
you forward, to see you through. Let's get into it.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Damn man, I feel like that needs to be on
a fortune cookie. Fortune and guys, not even I'm not
gonna lie though, So we are going to actually get
into some of the the cuisines here, and we will
be bringing that out later on during the episodes. And
it's gonna be called Opinions on the line where we
actually give our feedback a little bit, you know, rate
(02:42):
it good and bad, good and bad? Okay, but I
know it's not gonna be bad. It's gonna be more
good than anything. Might be a little spicy. But listen,
how you been though and been pretty good?
Speaker 2 (02:52):
You know, stand in the gym.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I see you out here getting swollen. Bro Pauls.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
I'm the mini me. He needs to stop playing, but
I'm trying to catch his size. But you don't want
than that, you know, just work and take care of them.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Okay, okay, okay, let me get you a little clap
on that man. That's what that's what? How is the
New Year? Like? Was it like pretty pretty standard? Like
I feel like I feel like nowadays people like doing
the whole New Year celebration. It gets a little out
of hand.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I feel like the older you get, you kind of
you kind of just ease up where you're like, I'm
about to chill out.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
I'm about to do this embody in home thing and
and chill with the family, not going out of town.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I'm not driving around. That's pretty much what it was
for me. Let's watch movies.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Movies. Oh so you would? I forgot so guys, guess what. Man,
this is a family guy. This is a family guy.
Like I ain't gonna lie to you. This is a
real family guy right now trying to get six yeah, yeah,
six kids. Man, I feel like I need another shot,
but I'm gonna take a sip. I'm gonna take a
sip because you got six kids. This is that? This
(04:00):
little mok tail? What is this? This is the lavender crush? Okay, cool, cool,
cool cool? All right. Let me ask you this question, though,
What do you think are some unconventional or fun resolutions
that people might actually look forward to sticking with? Just
consider that just a new year, you know what I mean?
Because I feel like people are very unrealistic with resolutions.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Let's just keep it simple. I would say, you know,
cutting out the sweets or anything like that. But what
I'm gonna say is taking taking a ten minute walk
each day.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
That's a fun resolution, especially if you want to get
active again.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Okay, I want to.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Always just start right back in the gym. People make
that let's let's start from the bottom, okay, and don't
put too much on your plate pretty much.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
So you're saying like more so like okay on the
fitness aspect of it, but what about like just everyday lifestyle,
like what would you what would you? What would you
say to somebody like Okay, yeah, I want this is
my new Year's resolution.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
So for people out of college, I would I would
advise older adults to read a chapter a night, a
chapter a day, you know, because I gotta ask you,
when's the last time you read a book? When's the
last time you read a couple of pages?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
You know?
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Besides that was wasn't mandatory for work, you know, and
it just stimulates your mind. You can read fiction, nonfiction,
so that's a good, uh something to add to your plate.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Okay for the non readers out there, and yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
For the non readers. And if you have kids, kids
don't like being told what to do. They're more observant,
they're gonna they're gonna pick up on.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
What you actually do.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Oh okay, that's a great way to coach him. Let
me show you that, Daddy or mommy reads a book
before bed.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Okay, okay, all right, man Man's coming from the coming
from the family aspect.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
So what are some common fitness resolutions other than walking
that people make and how can they fix it?
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Well, a lot of people always want to say it
the the year I'm gonna go I'm gonna go to
the gym, I'm gonna go hard this year, I'm gonna
do this.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
I'm gonna go on a diet.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
You know.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
I found that you want to develop lynch pin habits
that are actually that help you to control.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Your the main objective that you wanna do.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Okay, if you want to go to the gym, how
about let's let's start going to bed a little bit earlier.
Let's put that into your your goal you know what
I mean, because you have a lot of goals, but
then you're doing a lot of things that don't set
up your your your your your your good habits that
you want to do for the New Year's So definitely
look at the nitty gritty and to find details of
how are you gonna accomplish that goal of going to
(06:37):
the gym, you know, three times or four times or
five times a week?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
So In other words, you're you're mainly saying, like, you know,
keep small promises. So people like what I think I
think is true, Like, you know, you should keep small promises.
Like guys, all right, so listen, here's the deal with fitness,
especially fitness. Guys don't do the whole like I want
to lose fifty pounds. No, start by doing like I'm
gonna do ten push ups every day or I'm gonna
(07:03):
do ten squats every day. It's not nothing out of
the ordinary, but it's easily achievable, and it's something that
you know, you're you're not going out of your way
to you know what I mean, actually trying to you know,
because a lot of people are embarrassed to go to
the gym. They don't know what they're doing and all
that extra stuff. But there's those are the small I
think it's achievable.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
And when you achieve those small goals, it just sets
you up for the bigger goals, because what happens if
you set yourself up for a big goal and you
don't achieve it, it just kind of puts you in
a damper, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Now you're just like I don't want to try this anymore.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
But if you achieve a small goal, then you're moral
apt to create another small goal to achieve.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
So then by the time you look up, you've achieved
a thousand small goals. Now you done got to your goal? Like,
how do I get there? Like you said those small promises.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I'm to be working on harmark working.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Seth curry out here.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Okay, guys, all right, right, listen, We're gonna get a
little spicy here. Listen, guys, I want to talk a
little little bit about the relationships in twenty twenty five people. Listen.
I'm more so like being single and all this extra stuff.
I'm gonna ask you a question. But I know, I
know you're married. Man, how do you know? How did
you know when it was time to take your dating
(08:19):
relationship to the next level? Because I know he's married people,
he's married. So, ladies, it was.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
More of a when you make that decision, you know,
because I can honestly look back, like in my college
career and be like, I didn't make a decision, Okay,
So it's more of like, are you gonna have your
spartan rules and live by them?
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I grew up in a household. That was Christian.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
My mom taught me this standard and I finally made
this decision and to uphold the standard.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Okay, So that was that was pretty much it. So
when he started dating the girl, I'm like, I'm not
no longer just looking to date. I'm more looking for
a white Oh man, damn man.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
He said, I'm dating with the purpose. That's what. That's
what you just see that. But like was it just? Now?
How did you know? Like I understand, like you know,
you said you was dating with a purpose, But how
did you know that the intent what would be with
that one young lady which is your wife right now?
(09:18):
Like so like how did you How did you know?
Because you know what I mean, because it's like this,
like we all go into this life. We all go
into relationships where we're like, yo, you know what, she's
the one, she's the one, or he's the one, he's
the one. How do you determine that that person is
or is not the one. That's what That's That's what
I'm trying to get to.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Sometimes you just got to let the cookies and the
crumbs fall where they may. You know, It's like how
do you really know? God knows but at the same time,
it's like you got you put your faith in it,
and it sometimes does it work out.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
You have to go in there with the whole heart.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Okay, Okay.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
So and that was pretty much it, Like I didn't
really know. I believe. I mean, my man said, I believe.
I believe.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
It. It's amazing, It's amazing. Okay. This is more of
a question off for you, like how do you and
especially like this, and this is an important question people,
because this is in regards to every relationship and everything. Okay, guys,
how do you, as a family man, as a married man,
(10:31):
as a father, keep the spark alive in your marriage?
And like you know what I mean, you don't got
to get too personal. You don't got to get too personal.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Bro, what I do, what to do?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
And people don't judge me on either of these drinks.
Please don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
We got blessed.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
But anyway, how I would answer that question is pretty
much you don't leave behind the dating, okay, with your wife.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Only do you have a day life for her? She
has a daylight for you.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Okay, Okay, I like that. I like that.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
It's just like when you see the men with them
flowers standing out there in the cold. Yo, that's a
sign for you by the flower and wife.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Oh okay, I like that. I like that. So in
other words, guys, I think, ladies, feet God, gentlemen, ladies.
I think what he's trying to say is or what
he is saying is treated like it's still the first day,
(11:36):
treated like it's still the first day. Don't forget the
little things that that you did when you first started mating,
like when you first started dating. Do not forget those
little things just because, guys, guess what, It keeps those sparks,
you know what I mean. Like and even if, even
if the relationships getting a little murky or whatever boring,
you can spice it up by like he said, buying
(11:59):
her fly or taken around on a nice little park,
on a like a light walk in the park, anything
like that, just to keep those flames and sparks alive.
People talk to them talk. I'm talking about the dog.
Let me ask you this. I know you just recently
(12:21):
launch this group called Men of Tomorrow. Talk to me
about the Men of Tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Man, that's a beautiful group.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
It's just on my heart to pour into the community
to build up these kids in a sense where it
doesn't have to be sports related.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
And I really believe that there's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Men that come from untraditional homes, you know, our boys
that are you know, single family homes and things like that,
and I want to pour into them. Sometimes they get
neglected in certain areas. Right, you can see if it's
not all the way into the soil, is going to
get neglected. So the minute tomorrow, the group is really
(13:04):
about understanding, giving the kids understanding that they are a legacy, okay,
teaching them how to become a legacy, and teaching them
how to leave a legacy.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
And we.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Do financial literacy for them. We do coding groups, just
goal setting, understand programs, communication programs, and things like that,
just to build a certain confidence by the time they
get to college or high school or whatever. We want
them at a certain standard. Straight, gentlemen, that's what's up.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
That's what's up. I like that. I like that. So
in other ways, it's like this.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
And I know you said that it's from ages eight
to twenty four, eight to.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Twenty four, okay, okay, okay. And how could somebody the viewers, listeners,
how could they get involved in that, like or how
could they sign up?
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah, just reach out to Lift them Up Sports or
lift them Up dot Org. On the website, you can
hit the contact me button and will send you the registration.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
And that's dope, man, that's dope. Man. I want to
give you another pause for that, because you know what
I mean. It's something like you know what I mean,
it's it's it's building a community. It's mental awareness people
because like a lot of a lot, like a lot
of people don't realize how much the the I want
to say, poverished communities, the lower income communities have difficulties
(14:24):
getting the resources that they need to get when they
should be getting them. And without this proper guidance like himself,
like you know what I mean, men of tomorrow, He's
allowing you and giving these resources to allow you guys
to get the proper education, the proper knowledge, the proper
(14:47):
just just just molding.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
You to that man that you or it is only
for men, it's for boys.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Right now that we have a coach group, I was
gonna say, that's another story for another campfire.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Okay, pretty much?
Speaker 3 (15:04):
You know with this whole thing is the kids can
only see this far, but the landscape is changing. All
around us, right, AI is hitting the scene. All these
different little things are hitting the scene. How are they
going to be prepared for the next level? Because you
do you really think the school is going to get
them there?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Now?
Speaker 3 (15:20):
They're teaching the same thing that they taught us, but
the landscape already changed multiple times.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
I'm just talking like now said, come on, alright, so listen,
all right, let me ask you this. Let me be
interesting because you know, because we're on this whole mental
awareness path and all that stuff, let me ask you this.
How do you visualize health and wellness? You know, because
I know like the Men of Tomorrow and all this stuff.
(15:46):
How do you visualize health and wellness? And how does
this shape your actions or interactions? Well?
Speaker 3 (15:53):
I visualize it like this, you know. Just pretend you
were standing in this this table and there's a circle
around you. Hm, You're you're centered, right, That's how I
visualize health and wellness. But there's many aspects that are
gonna keep you centered. If you're giving person, you need
to give to be. If you you need education, you
(16:13):
need to educate yourself. If people are always taking deposits
from you, withdraws from you, you know, you're gonna be
off centered. So there's a whole realm of things that
are gonna keep you focused and keep your your alignment
with this health and wellness.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
It's not just one aspect.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
It's just like a multitude of things, you know what
I mean that you have to keep at a certain
standard at a certain level.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
You know. Okay, I like that because it's it's it's
all formulates into the whole, you know, like men of group,
like non of tomorrow, non of tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Can can health and wellness practices be integrated into daily
routines in a way that enhance both physical goal and
mental well being? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (17:03):
I mean I feel that's that's a great question, and
it's really a question that people should ask themselves individually,
like set these goals health and wellness. I need time
for me, I need time for my loved ones. I
need time for work. I need time to uh just
settle down. I need all these different things at a
(17:24):
certain level to just be evenly keel right. So you
have to ask yourself, like, man, what am I lacking?
What am I what am I leaving out every single day?
And maybe in that you find why your health and
wellness is off a little bit? Why you think you
need a therapist or whatever the case may be, because
you're you're you're letting this door open when you should
shut that door, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (17:45):
But how do I like that? But how does one
realize or find out that they need that that that
they need that assistance or they needed help.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
And that's a good question. And I look at it like.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
You know, we all I'm gonna put it in an
analogy because we all drive cars, right, for the most
of us, we all drive cars. Now, if you don't
keep the proper oils in your car, the proper minerals
inside of you, what's gonna go off?
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Your engine light's gonna go off.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
It is a check engine line, right, So someone's gonna
have our engine LFE, our engine light on for a
major reason or for a minor reason.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
And that's what it is.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
And some people are not gonna even have their engine
light on because they're gonna do the bare minimum.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
And and folks, if your dashboard looks like a Christmas streak,
we need we need to stop. We need to get
that fixed. Five. This needs to stop, like right now,
real talk, like real talk, Go ahead, Sorry about.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
That, I mean, all the resources around you. But sometimes
it takes you to sit down in a quiet space
and look at the hidden enemy. Sometimes it could be you.
Sometimes it could be the job that you're in. Sometimes
it could be a multiple different little factors. But if
you never if you're just always moving at the speed
of everything that's going on in society, you never sit
(19:04):
down and figure out what's keeping you off from being balanced.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Ms tall to me, talk to me nothing. Listen, you
gonna sip this in real because I don't, and I gotta.
I gotta sip this.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Man.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
People do not judgment because listen, they made this pretty
for us, you know what I mean? Like this, Lavender
Crush is a mock tail people, This is a mock
tail show. Guys. Shout out to you guys for for
the dry January. Lavender Crush is crushing it. I'm not
gonna lie to you. I'm not gonna lie to you.
So I don't know if you've been onto the media
(19:39):
with the whole sexual harassment lawsuit, with the whole Fox
Fox Sports and guys, I'm not gonna dive too much
into detail about what happened. You guys could google it,
but just to give you, guys, uh, just a brief
synopsis of it. There's a lawsuit right now where they're
(20:01):
a few different figures on Fox Sports that are being
sued that are in a lawsuit, and these are all allegations. People.
I'm not saying that these people did it or did
not do it. Okay, guys, I'm not on nobody's side.
So but when you guys feel realize like you know
what the the lawsuit is about, I'm gonna ask you this,
(20:26):
how do you approach reevaluating someone's character when face with
new up sustain allegations. Now, now, people, when I just
mentioned this question, this question is relevant to anybody in life.
This could be your your family member, this could be
someone at your workplace, This could be your friend, this
(20:47):
could be anybody. So, like the question is, again, how
do you approach reevaluating someone's character when face with new
up sustain allegations of anything.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
It's funny that you asked this question because I was
talking to my buddy earlier today and I was talking
to him about you know, when we meet people, there's
there's subconsciously there's these five c's, Yeah, that we look
at their confidence, we look at their communication. We look
at their character, we look at their communication, and we
look at the chemistry that we have with them. Right, Yep,
you could have chemistry with a person, but you see
(21:19):
their character with somebody else is off, but you still
want to vibe with them.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
So when this situation occurs, that's it was. It was
already a telltale sign before, but you didn't you didn't
heed to it. You still kept communicating with them.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
And we do that a lot.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
And I'm speaking on my own life, So I'll be
connected with somebody that I should not connect with.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
So, even if you're in a business standpoint or a
professional standpoint, keep them work friends, work friends. Oh okay,
when they invite you to go, oh, come to this party.
We're gonna be at the hotel, and you already detected
that their character was a little bit off, I think
I'm gonna passed. And we put ourselves I'm not blaming
the females or the males, or whatever the case that
(22:05):
may be, but I'm talking about me.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
We put ourselves in harm's way often more than not.
You know what I mean. We want to be friendly,
we want to be.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Closer, you want to be politically correct and all this
and all this stuff that we already received what we
needed to take heed.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
To m Okay, okay, So coming back on that one, now,
like I said, guys, coming back to the whole lawsuit,
there's a lot of people in this lawsuit that did
(22:42):
things that allowed a much more success for their career.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Speak on it.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Let me ask you this, Should we continue to give
credit to someone who manipulated their way to the top,
even if they went on to excel once they got there.
It's off to me.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
So when I'm looking at that situation, I kind of
look around the corner because I'm like, their motives could
be A and B.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
We don't know their motives.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
We're gonna judge their their actions, which is okay, we
get judged by our actions. But I'm like, if this
man was trying to provide the legacy and trying to provide,
you know, something for his families, and we don't like
that he stepped on other people to get to the top,
or whoever it was that did it, but they did
that for a purpose beyond themselves. Sometimes now if it's
(23:40):
a selfish reason, it's a selfish reason. But often more
than not, people are trying to build and be successful
for their families and lift other people up and stuff
like that.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
So I don't know the situation that with this.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Yeah no, but no. But I'm just saying just in
general though, like you know what I mean saying, like,
all right, let me give you an example, like say,
if okay, you went into sports. I'm into sports, you
knew someone that cheated their way to the top, but
when they got there, they manage excel.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
And I look at I look at John Jones, I
like MMA, and people say he was dirty, he kicked
me in my kneecap.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
He I'm like, how is that dirty?
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Weren't you weren't you fighting? And that's the that's the
real issue right there. People don't understand when they're doing business, it's.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
A cutthroat world. Dog eat dog.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I'm telling my son right now, you're competing right now,
who's gonna get the best job he's twelve, or my
son that's that's sixteen.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Who's gonna get the best job, who's.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Gonna get the best fight, who's gonna bet the promotion,
who's gonna go to the college.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
You're competing right now. You don't even know.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
You think everybody's friendly and friendly, but they will put
you down to get to the top.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
And it's so crazy.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Thats reality.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
He's not listen, man, listen, listen. I ain't gonna lie.
This is old saying. B if you ain't cheating, you
ain't trying. I ain't gonna hold you big dogs. Hey, listen,
I ain't gonna I ain't gonna tell you this. They't
my quote, but like yo, if you ain't cheating, you
ain't trying. Listen. There's sometimes where I was running the
(25:17):
forty yard dash if anybody don't know it right, so
I had my hand over the line. I'm not gonna
lie to you on some of them. But that's neither
it you feel me. But at the same time it's
true though, But like I'm more talking about like how
people just straight flat out abused, like you know what
(25:39):
I mean. It's like one of those things where it's
like it's I'm okay with somebody you know cheating on
one test, two tests, but bro your whole college career.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I mean, yes, the only thing how I can I
use a godly aspect to answer a lot of my questions.
I can't really judge because I'm like everybody, you know
what I mean, that's to stand on their own two feet.
And there's a lot of outlying situations that I don't
I'm not privy to, So I'm not really gonna judge
other people because at the same time, we could say
(26:11):
if we were in that situation, I wouldn't do that,
But would you? We don't know that because you've never
been tested and tried. You see what I'm saying. If
you were, if you find a bag with a million dollars,
are you really going to turn that bag in to
the police, are you gonna tuck that? Where I'm at though,
you see what I'm saying, not many people are gonna
do that.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Some people are.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
If I'm at a bus stop in Mexico, I'll tell
you right now.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
You ain't getting out of Mexico.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
I'm gonna be living good. I'm gonna be living good.
For why.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
I'm not coming back, I.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Ain't gonna like. Listen, guys, you know we got we
got lots of talk about we should order that food, right, Yeah,
definitely we should order that food. Got really quick, Okay, listen,
before before we just dive into the next topic, what like,
what is your take on these drinks? Man? Like I
got it because you know what I mean. I can't
I can't go away from not giving my gratitude to
(27:07):
these drinks. Like you know what I mean. Okay, start
with saying grea like.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Guy is honestly fire.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
I'm really I'm a fruity guy, like always to gum,
and I usually have like a tropical you know, like
a juicy fruit guy, juicy fruit guy. So this to
me my type of bubblelicts. So this is my type
of drink right here. My tail is also slapping because
you know.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
It's like it's like, okay, so guys, it has like
a little like it has I want to say, sparkling water,
tonic water. It's it's refreshing. I'm not gonna lie to
It's very refreshing.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
It's something that this is like a what is the
dude drinks that they're drinking.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
This is like a Celsius on top a one celsius
if you want to categorize it.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Okay, guys, this is the New Year. Knew me. It
has moett and I'm not gonna lie I do feel
like a bad bush b I s h Okay, listen
I'm not gonna lie like yo, it's I would if
I was to order it, guys and I didn't know
(28:15):
what it actually came in a flute, I would order
this with in a man cup. I'm not gonna lie
to man man cup this you got a man come.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
They didn't know upstairs that it was all you know,
you know what I mean, all my macho mon teens.
But it's okay. They still you know, they try.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Let me ask you this though, with the new twenty
twenty five horizon, what is your outtake on like the
whole social agenda, Like are you are you positively looking
forward to you know, obviously I'm not going to get
(29:01):
into the whole politics and all that stuff, but how
like what is your mental state like going into twenty
twenty five, because I like, I like a lot of
times people people go into this where they're like, I
don't know and blah blah blah.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
That's that's that's a problem because if you don't know,
you should know.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
But so how I'm looking at it is based off
of the experiences of all the years that I grew up.
The good news is the bad news is fake, okay,
And what I mean by that is all the times
that you struggle in life. Sometimes you struggle and you
get through it, okay. But we look at the struggles
(29:39):
sometimes like it's gonna end us, do we not?
Speaker 2 (29:42):
We we really take it here, We do take it.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
We take it more to heart in terms of like
the struggle, the struggles real, the struggles real, respectably, respectably.
But but you know it is it's only that it
depends on where you came from, like you know, people
that came from lower income societies and all that extra stuff.
(30:08):
I don't I don't look at it as a struggle.
I look at it as an opportunity. And that's just me.
That's just me, Like I look at it as an
opportunity where I'm just like, all right, cool, how can
I love it? Love? How can I get better from this?
How can I how can I turn this from a
negative to a positive? And it's you know what I mean.
(30:29):
But a lot of people are you know that some
of them are backwards where they're like no, I don't
see I they can't. They don't have the capacity to
be able to turn something from a negative to a positive.
If something negative is going on, it's kind of like
(30:49):
you on a trip. Your negative. You're automatically thinking, oh,
something else bad's going to happen, something else bad's going
to happen, like instead of being like, yo, you know
what that happened, Let's make the best of this. I live.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
I live Romans eight twenty eight. Man, all things work
for the good of those who love God that are
called the court. Something bad happens, I just know that
it can always work out for the positives. And I
don't really focus on the negative, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
I don't speak in the negative.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Even if something bad happened to me, if I would
have got a ticket on the way here, you know what,
I'm not even.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Gonna tell you. I'm just gonna handle that because I'm
not gonna feed into that energy.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Side note, I think I got a ticket.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Bro, I ain't gonna yo. You know it's funny. Two
hour bro is real, I think so you know.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
What this is? Sign note people, guys, anybody who lives
in Boston or knows Boston, man, listen. Parking. Finding parking
in downtown is like you know when you you know,
back in the day, like when people say that, look
how God works like that, that is real, bro, because
you cannot find parking in Boston, like downtown Boston. If
(31:59):
you find parking, gods on your side, bro preach Yo,
it's like it's either commercial or anything like that. Bro.
But like, you can never find parking in Boston, like
no matter where you're at, no matter where you're at,
like it could be in the well, probably in an
urban community.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Yeah, you can find park So you know, I'm not
from Boston, but you know.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
So Anyway, I had some tickets to the Celtics cam
I'm like, oh, I'm just gonna drive down there and
find parking, man, stop it. I got so mad at myself.
I drove around for about an hour and a half
the game that started, and I was I'm in the car, like, yo,
if I don't find parking a second bank you, I'm
going back to the Anyway, I found some parking and
I ended up seeing the game.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
But oh man, it was it was. It was rough
on my spirit that day.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
It was on your in circles, got the hazard lights on.
You think it's somebody else's leaving for a parking spot.
There was parking.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
You're like just go go. Yeah, man, that was tough.
That parking is real out here.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Now, parking is real. Parking is definitely real, and you.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Better uber some or lift some or taxi something.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Yo. So let me ask you this in terms of
I know you said that, you know, I know you're
originally from Florida. How do you how do you how
do you verse from Florida to Boston? Like, what is
what is something that that allowed you to overcome certain
(33:30):
obstacles from being from Florida and then transitioning into the
Boston culture, because you know what I mean, it's it's
a it's a different culture down there versus up here.
And like how old you were you?
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Well, that's that's a long story. I'm gonna keep it short.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
You know, originally my family's from Florida, but my mom
lived in California. We ended up moving to Massachusetts, and
we moved to Florida because my grandfather was sick. Then
we moved back here. Okay, then we moved back to Florida.
So it was a lot of back and forth. That's
why than the last the last podcast, I talked about
being adaptable.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
You have adapt You gotta adapt to your surroundings.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Yeah, so that's how I you know, so even going
into the military, here, here, here, I was so ready,
like I was, I was used to that.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Okay, okay, okay, so you got accustom to kind of
like you know, like you said, adapt into your new
surroundings and if and it's easier if you're an extrovert,
Like if you're an introvert, it's gonna be harder for
you because obviously you know what I mean. You don't
you don't allow yourself to talk to people, mingle with
people and on the extra stuff. But when you are extrovert,
(34:39):
you allow yourself to be able to be like, all right, cool,
let me learn this, like was you was it a
learning curve like for you to I think adapt like.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
You know what I mean, just because originally I was
like introvert. You know, I didn't really like to do
a whole bunch of talking.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
You know.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
As I became a man and grown, yeah, I started
expressing myself and getting out there.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
But you know it was easy for me because I
played sports, So playing sports.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
It was easy. It allows me to yeah, correct, because
it allows you to not only be yourself, but it
allows you to express more and it is easier. It's
an easier transition to make friends because you're playing sports,
you know what I mean. Playing sports. If anybody's played
on a team, or anybody's playing in the league or
(35:27):
anything like that, you kind of force yourself to You
gotta mix and mingle. You gotta dabble with people like
you know what I mean. So I do hear what
you're saying.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
My mom knows Billy's mom, and Billy's mom knows Jimmy's mom.
So it's like, those are my friends and we're hanging out,
and it just it becomes like that.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
So it's okay, it's nothing. You gotta search for it.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Now.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
It would been different if I didn't play sports. I'm
going to a new school and now I don't have
any friends and stuff like that. But it was just
where the transition was just there setting stone already.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
So okay, okay, damn.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
As soon as I went to pee, they're like, oh,
he could ball.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Yeah, he's just the same height as Munkey bows. I
ain't gonna hold you.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
I can touch the rim with the finger.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Anybody know Muggy bowls man, look up, Charlotte hornets Man,
Larry Johnson man beast. No, he yo, he was bro
he was he wasn't No spop web he was web. Yo, wait,
how do should we order this? Should we order the food? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (36:29):
We should order the food, you know, Charlton Leane.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
We're gonna we're gonna get about three apps and a
main a main dish, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
The rossapasta. We should the rossaplasta. Yea, guys, we're gonna
get the rossapasta. We're gonna get some Yuka fries. We're
gonna get some chicken wings.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
You got planned for him once once we uh, I
think I.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Think we should just kind of try it out to see, like,
you know, really quick. All right, so like all right,
let me let talk about this environment really quick before like,
as we're ordering this food this environment, what would you
in terms of pricing, Like how would you compare or
(37:13):
where would you compare it to? And like, guys, we're
not comparing this to any other restaurant. However, we're trying
to get a more of an understanding for you guys
to understand where the price points are at.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
I mean, being in Boston, you know, it's just you're
in Boston, right parking, so it's not going to be
anything uh cheap, but it's going to be like, you
want to come and you're gonna you're going to pay
a decent little price, but it's not anything too crazy
as well.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
So would you would you say a fair comparison like cheesecake? Yeah,
Escape Factory.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
A little bit over because it's a little bit better,
you know.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
No, no, I'm not saying I'm not saying no, no,
I'm saying the pricing.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
Though, Yeah, yeah, right around there.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, exactly. Uh.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
In terms of ambiance, oh yeah, that's that's that's what
I like to speak on because.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
It's all because we don't really behind you.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
I don't really go out much, but.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
I don't really go out much, you know, that's algae.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
But when you do want to go out, you want
to definitely come to a place like this, cool vibes.
Every single time I've been here, you have the same
people that are like minded.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
I remember I was.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
At work one day and one of the co workers
was like, oh, I don't go out much because I
gotta get around these drunk people.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
This, that, and the third.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
I said, you know, you can always find your group
of people if you don't like the crazy, loud type
of people.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
You have to go to a different environment.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
She was.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
She was kind of younger, but you know, you have
to grow into it.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
So this is definitely as an older man, this is
definitely a spot that I would come to any time,
no problems.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Because they got three floors. They got three floors, by
the way, I ain't gonna lie. They have they got
upstairs downstairs right at we in basement where Big Ticket
was at in the basement, but they have they have
a mid level and then they have an upstairs level.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
You know, I don't think they watched b T They
might not know who the Big Tickets. But right now
we're about to order the food, real.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Quick order, let's order it. So so let's could we
do the Yuka fries rostapasta with oxtail as the main dish,
the chicken wings. Oh wait a minute, she said, what
kind of chicken wings? That's difficult? What so wait, hold on,
hold on, what what what flavors? That's it? Got to
(39:35):
do this. We gotta do the sell We'll do the
stellar wings. And I thought, then you want the we
do the Yuka fries.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
What was the main dish that she got?
Speaker 1 (39:47):
The ross apasta with the oxtail and what was the
other appetizer?
Speaker 2 (39:53):
They have the surprises?
Speaker 1 (39:55):
Yeah, surprises, we want surprises. See, that's what I'm talking about.
You see what I'm saying twenty two. I'm saying though,
like this is this is what I'm talking about. People
like she said, say less and that's what I'm talking
about because now she's gonna surprise us with the dish.
I don't know what it is. He don't know what
it is. He's drinking seeing grid like he on the
beach like he don't care no more. I don't know
(40:15):
how you getting home? You know, like what's good? Yo?
Speaker 2 (40:19):
Were gonna be ayes.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (40:23):
But for real, just know you're gonna get a surprise
somewhere down through there. Right you are?
Speaker 1 (40:30):
You are?
Speaker 3 (40:31):
You get you know, I'm coaching at the high school.
I'm expecting to make the playoffs this year.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
Oh wow, that's surprised guys that don't know like this
is coach bird Like and I know he was on
a different he was on the other last podcast. M
he does coach. I'm not gonna say what's school. I'm
not gonna put I'm not gonna promote them. He does coach.
He's a mental mental fitness coach. He's he has the
(40:58):
wellness groups he has he's a life coach. Damn you
out here just coaching everything.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Bro, if you've been coached, you will coach.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Like Okay, let me let me, let me ask you
this so because you know what I mean, because we're
put the viewers out there. You know what I mean? Like,
how how how do you stay grounded as a person?
How do you say grounded as a person being such
a coach? You know what I mean? Because you have to,
in my fair opinion, like if you're a coach of something,
you have to carry yourself in a manner, in a
(41:29):
way that's like, Okay, I feel like.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
When your blessings have been so tremendous in your life,
that's that's what keeps me grounded. That's what keeps me
seeing you know, reality for what it is and what
my purpose is because my blessings have been.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
So high above me.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Okay that.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
In order in other words, I won't put it like this.
I walk high, but I look low.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Okay, you know, so I'm walking high because my blessings
that means it's stuff is bouncing off me, but I'm
looking low. Who can I lift up so they can
feel some of this. And and what I mean by
that is like your gifts that you have are often transferable.
If you have a gift, you can give it to others.
Just the excitement, that energy, the motivation, the inspiration, the dedication.
(42:16):
You can give it to others. They're needing for it,
they're searching for it. So I feel like that's part
of my purpose of you know, staying grounded. It's like, man, gratitude,
Feeling that gratitude in your heart is different than getting
a million dollars.
Speaker 2 (42:32):
It's two different things. It feels too completely opposite.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
Was you in the Book of Eli Man?
Speaker 3 (42:39):
I mean one of them, but it probably Ecclesiastes for anything,
you know, you gotta get that.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
With because that's that's that's dope, man, It's it's you
know what I mean. It takes like people you don't
unders saying you have to have a strong mindset in
order to be able to have this level of focus,
this level of mental aptitude.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
You have to you have to have this.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Because it's like it's one of those things where it's
anybody's easily sidetracked nowadays, Like you know what I mean,
And the littlest thing could sidetrack somebody and just take
him right off track and for him to hear him
say like, yo, listen, like this is that's what we do,
Like this is what I do all the time. Blah
blah blah blah. It's it's it's admirable, bro.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
I appreciate that. I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
Damn man, you're out here just lifting.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
I always wanted to be an admiral. I went to
mass Maritime for a little time, and you know, you
look up to the admirals.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
That's that's that's up there. General status.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
You know what I mean, general status. That's definitely general.
Once again, guys, while we're waiting for this food, man,
because I I really can't wait, Okay, I want to
talk about this before we get out of here. What
words phrases should we leave behind in twenty twenty five?
(44:13):
All right, I'm gonna go down the list. People wanna
go down the list? God's viewers, all right, thumbs up,
thumb busting, and I want you to use it in
assessin for the people that don't understand what busting is.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
I mean, I never really like the term busting. So
I'm gonna have to leave that behind. No, it's slapping
and we use the word slapping or luncheon back in
the day.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
So like, in other words, guys, you know how to
this thing? Be like Yo, this like like when the
food comes out, You'll be like, Yo, this is busting.
Like I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm gonna give
a thumbs down on that too, Like we gotta leave
that one. That one is like, eh, I'm good with it,
I'm good without it, all right, cool cool John? Give
(44:56):
an example.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
I mean, he's John, that's the Eastern own.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
I don't really use that term, so I'm gonna stay
away from that, like I don't have no energy or
negative energy right there.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
So so in other words, what that means like, Yo,
look at little John. Then like what's up with that girl? Female? Oh?
She and Lance John? Or you know what I mean?
But okay, okay, cool fire.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
I love that one.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
I feel like that's timeless, timeless fires timeless okay, okay, okay.
Fire And guys, you should know what fire is like yo, Yo,
this drink is fire. Okay, cool the mure.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
That's not my style.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Okay, thumbs down that okay, cool me too, Yo, You're
acting very the mr. Okay, I'm not gonna go into detail.
Mid Okay, Now, if I didn't like this drink, I'll
be like, mad, Okay, it's given.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
I kind of like it's given, because sometimes that's kind
of self explanatory. It's given, you know, you know, like
you don't have to add on to it a little bit.
So it's kind of like that was already given. I
could talk to you about this because it was already given.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
But okay, I can't.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
I can see why people could use that at any given.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
Any given situation. Okay, cool, Cool? What about cap no cap?
Speaker 3 (46:24):
I kind of like that just the MOSI I mean,
because it's it says less like people. You know, sometimes
people be fabricating stories.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
Cap You know, you don't have to be like.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
