We are STATE CHAMPS as we get into the huge 28-22 win on the road in Trailer-hassee last night. Everyone has huge props for the defense yet again, and Ro admits he's struggling right now to find holes in this roster. Toast also breaks down the numbers because the game stats really lean in favor of Florida State, largely due to that 4th quarter run. But Scoop goes back to his second key to the game which was the Canes connecting over the top which Miami did very well last night.
One of the biggest questions from the night was Mario going for it on 4th down late instead of kicking a field goal to stretch the lead, and we all agree that we've wanted Mario to be more aggressive for a while. It was just a weird time for him to try it. Toast also begins the debate about why Miami should be the #1 team in the country after another win against a ranked opponent, as Ohio State and Oregon have both been great but Miami's resume is better.
More props from everyone for Malachi Toney who continues to amaze the college football world with how good he really is at his age. And Carson Beck's performance on the road in a hostile environment was exceptional after he threw 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. And we check in with friend-of-the-show Josh Pray who posted that he thinks Miami is the #1 team in the country and hilariously dumps on FSU.
BUT... with all accolades aside, we need to talk about that awful 4th quarter performance, getting outscored 19-0, and Scoop is concerned that this 4th quarter comeback is becoming a trend against the Canes. We also go into our second bye of the season and gear up for Louisville who just lost to UVA.
