The Miami Hurricanes came up with one of the most dominating wins of the season when they needed it most, demolishing the Pitt Panthers 38-7 on the road and making a resounding statement for the College Football Playoff. Scoop jolins us drunk from Thanksgiving vacation and comes in hot with strong words for Notre Dame in the wake of the coming debate. And while everyone has big props for the offense, Scoop wants to know if our "A Gap for Life" jarring made a difference in the change of pace offensively.
Toast also makes a case for a positive return on investment in this coaching staff, after having very little faith earlier in the season... even if we don't get a Playoff bid after all this upswing the last month. Roman also supports Toast's idea to have an ACC Committee to ensure the best teams in the conference make the playoffs, largely due to the conference's unbalanced schedule, even if it would be a really hard process to moderate. And there aren't enough good things to say about Malachi Toney, who is not only the best freshmen in the country, but quite possibly the best player in the country. And from there the debate ensues about whether that young man should have a place in New York during the Heisman finals.
We hear from Mario Cristobal on the field after the win, advocating for Miami to be a Playoff team, as well as Nick Saban on GameDay saying Miami might be the most dangerous team if they get into the CFP. And with all that, Roman still offers a heart-to-heart with Canes fans to prepare themselves for Miami to get screwed and not get in... but that's okay, because it's who we are as a fan base. Scoop agrees, but lays out that Miami did not get screwed but rather did this to themselves after those losses.
And we close things out with some shoutouts - one to our friend Joe who hooked Toast and Roman up with bourbon advent calendars. And another from Scoop to Joe Echeverria and Rudy Fernandez for showing what it means to lead from the position of a football fan and blaze a path forward for years to come.
