Bethany Warren here. Welcome back toseason twenty three to twenty four of our
Millwall Fans Show, with new panelistsbut the same focus. Just everything Millwall
Enjoy. Welcome to the third showof the twenty twenty three twenty four season
of the mill No one likes ustalking our Millll Fans Show. I'm your

(00:38):
host, Gary Staff, and withme I have to No one likes a
talking team of Ted Robinson, DaveHeart and Stan Godwin. Not everybody likes
them, but they don't care.Hi, Ted, You're leading, Gary.
Good evening, Sir, Hi,Dave Well and high stand all right

(01:02):
there, Gary, all right. So a very pleasing opening game of the
season followed by a very disappointed defeatingthe League Cup. I know people have
got different opinions. I'm personally notbothered by it by one minute. You've
only got to look at other resultsthat went certain ways around us. But

(01:23):
let's stop bother about that game.Let's just talk about Middlesbrough and then move
on to other matters. Guys, hang on a minute. You can't I've
got no problem with talking about middlesbroor even talking about this game this week,
but you can't just ignore what tookplace the other night. I mean
it was a nightmare. Well let'slook, it was the first thing we

(01:47):
get to that then yeah, yeah, no, I'm just saying fine,
go ahead, Ted, your thoughtson middles were first, Well, it
couldn't have gone any better. Itwas a simple word answer to it.
I mean, all the talk goingon amongst Mill fans about what formation he
was going to play and whatever, well let's say about Gary Row. He's

(02:07):
got it right because that performance wasexcellent. All that was missing was a
goal. And what when we didget the goal. I couldn't have been
more pleased if I wanted to be, because the two young lads being involved,
and the strike from essay was superb. The run by it what's his
name in Maco who was you know, outstanding way he teased in experienced defender

(02:34):
in and just left him for dead, which was fantastic to see. But
you know, they obviously took thehighlights because they scored the goals, or
the praise because they scored the goals. But the performance, you know,
all was outstanding. Duncan, whatmore, I think was showing us all
the sort of player that our thoughthe was when we signed him, but
we didn't really get to see it, if you know what I mean,

(02:57):
maybe because he was either against abit of an injury or whether I don't
know, but he certainly in preseasonand certainly against Middlesborough he showed us what
a quality player we've got. Heneeds to remember what Benjie come off,
of course, but that's another story. But listen, I think we all
fall before the game. Anything fromMiddlesborough will be a good result. So

(03:22):
to take or get a win ata game, keep a clean sheet for
our new goalkeeper as well, it'san excellent result and we could not have
wished for anything more than that froman opening game of the season against the
side that I still believe it isgoing to be one of the ones battling
up the top there with us.Of course, fair enough and Ted as

(03:43):
we're going to speak about it yourthoughts on Tuesday, Listen, I think
you can read too much into agame, right that, Like Stay and
said, you know, I'm notgoing to disagree with what Staying said earlier.
I mean, of course there'll bedisappointment to be losing any game for
Neil you don't want to be doing. But what I did say when I
was walking out the ground after thegame, I wasn't surprised by the result.

(04:09):
I was surprised by the amount welost Buyer. But what I will
say is get your money on Millwallfor Saturday, because that Millwall team that
comes out on Saturday will be acompletely to different side than the one that
we watched on Tuesday night. Ican assure you that what went wrong Tuesday
night, I don't know it startedbad and just got got worse, you

(04:29):
know, But we know there'll bechanges, There'll be different people, different
pursts and now in there. Ithink, if I'm honest, I think
it'll be the side that started againstmiddles Borrow on Saturday. But as you
said, as well go you dohave to put it in perspective because there
was a lot of championship sides thatlost or struggled in is because I do

(04:51):
genuinely believe most championship sides could dowithout the League Cup in their minds.
I'm talking about us as fans don'tsee it that way, but I think
it's a priority to a football club. Unfortunately, that's what they do.
And I say we wasn't the onlyones that went out on Tuesday night there
was Watford, Sunderland, Preston norFind. You know, a lot of

(05:15):
championship size went out and in theleague, since I genuinely believe it will
benefit us because we won't have theirmidweek games coming up that we I say,
he don't want to play, Butit sounds a strange thing for meat
that's been saying, because I loveto win every game, but I'm not
going to get beaten up about apoor performance in the Carabell Cup when we've

(05:39):
had such an excellent performance in thein the league. And yet of course
you've got a question what happed onwith the players on Tuesday night because it
just looked to me a lot Reddinwas playing a competitive game and we was
having a run out. But atthat Gary route, it's sort that out
with him and I'm sure he willdo. And like I say, I

(05:59):
think Saturday we'll see the true Milliballcoming out on the pitch. Agreed,
I'll go to day next a middlepro mean, it's just one of those
places that historically it's not we don'treally get a lot of good results up
there. So the way the gamewent and there's many as the performances on

(06:23):
the other players on the day,the subs and they said said the goal
between the two youngsters, the youthteam taken over there. It's just a
sublime It was so enjoyable. Andthen moving on to Tuesday, these these

(06:44):
games are where you sort of yougo and you wouldn't you want to progress
in the in any cup competition. But me personally, I think this Caravan
Cup, I think the format ofit needs to change to maybe drop the
Premiership size out all together, andthat would give a bigger carrot to all

(07:05):
the teams that are taking part init, or make a little mini league
situation that runs over a couple ofweeks, give it some more incensive that's
just not one game knockout. Soit gives you something to if you're going
to play your kids, the kidshave a chance to do something. I
just think it the whole format ofit needs to needs to change. Yeah,

(07:27):
but so you know you always liketo win a game. I don't.
And to lose four Neil, well, that's a real odd feel to
swallow, but it says white. But the thing about the you know you're
not going to be I mean thesegames midweek that and at the end of
the day fastly they actually get toofar in is that competition? It's not

(07:50):
one such premiership. Besides, Ithink no, who's won it in the
last I can't remember anybody but aPremier but you know four times in the
last five years. Exactly, yeah, exactly, yeah, yeah is it?
But say Saturday is going to bea different kettle of fish and yeah,

(08:13):
looking forward to it. Me too. Well, I'm listening to all
this. It's all very interesting.Needless to say, I disagree with the
lot right because I don't subscribe tothis theory that cup games don't matter as
as a football manager. Let melet me, let me finish. I'm

(08:37):
talking about cup games right right. The manager of mull Wall or any other
club, each job description is quitesimple. Each job description is to win
football matches. It's as simple asthat. Right last season I heard all
this before about our cups and youknow, we'd rather not be if if

(09:00):
you don't want to then if youdon't want to jog, if you don't
want to belong them, and thenwhat we ought to be not that I
would agree with it. What wewould be saying is to the club,
well, don't bother renting it,don't bother renting it, right, But
that's not my view at all.And last season was the classic case.
Sheffilds United got promoted. Oh andby the way they got to the semifinal
of the FA APP didn't turn outto be no distraction by the way along

(09:22):
the way they got there. Sothey got promoted to the Premier League.
And they also had they also hada nice earner in the semifinal and everyone
was a winner. Right, Sothis idea, But you see the point
about it is this other what otherchampionship clubs do or don't do. I
don't give a toss about what theydo. That's entirely up for them.

(09:45):
What I'm interested in is what wedo. I turned up there that night.
Now, I didn't think I expectedto win the game. I didn't
think all we had to do wasjust roll over and just turn up and
they were going to roll over, right, But it was I mean,
that game has to be and it'sno good just sort of dismissing it and
sort of that game must have beenone of the worst games I've ever seen

(10:07):
down at the Den. Ever, you're bearing in mind we were playing a
team that d fielded eight or nineunder twenty ones in that team, right,
and they played us off the park. Because what was interesting, equally
interesting was I was watching the positionof the goalkeeper now bearing in mind all

(10:33):
this grief that's gone on towards longright, you know, I mean I
was reading stories about people was sayingthat, you know what we ought to
do is we all turn up atthe ground and when the team comes out
against for example, if we wereplaying Bristol City this week, that we're
all standing there to and to convinceGary Rawitt right that the fans don't want

(10:58):
long that they want it's bart.We would be staying in there all singing
we want. But I mean thatwould have gone down real great, wouldn't
it. You know, you've gota player there in a full ground right
with the opposition and the opposition supportwas sitting there. It listened to a
lot of our people saying we don'twant that bloke. That would have done
his confidence a lot of good. But as it happens, we've now been

(11:20):
overtaken by events. Okay, hebought the goalkeeper now, but I mean
he's a good goalkeeper, no questionabout an matey. We voted for him
twice, didn't we he is theplayers supporters player at the end, and
deservedly so. But I watched himthat night, right, oh right,

(11:41):
he might not have been He mightnot have had a lot of luck in
relationship to the first one, becausethey be fair. It was only after
about a minute, so he'd alreadyeven got out of first gear. He
fairness. But the second and thethird one, I'll tell you this,
if that'd been Long, he concededhim. There they've been help pay there
would have been held right, Andit got to the putting off. And

(12:03):
my only argument with Long is thefact he's made his mistakes and whatever,
we'll all go. Tell me agoalkeeper that don't make mistakes. They all
do it. My only argument withhim was his distribution able because Long kept
sending it Long, right, ButI watched part in him. Every time
he handled the ball, he wasas if he was handing an anger and
a right he couldn't And when hegot to his feet he was kicking it

(12:26):
as if it was a bomb.He couldn't get rid of it right quick
enough, right, And we werebeing given the run around, and I,
to some degree I felt sorry forhim. Now you know, I'm
not staying quick question. At thatpoint, you're saying about Long kicking the
ball long, Yeah, you're surethat's not he's choice. You're sure that's

(12:46):
not from someone else. Well,it might well be. I mean,
in fairness, it may he maywell be under instructions to do that.
And if he is, that concernsme. But that's what I'm saying is
that's my only problem with him.Right But all right, it looks like
he's going to go now and fairenough. I mean I had to smile
when I'm sitting here watching to situp friendly the other week, Right,

(13:07):
they scored their equalizer and within aminute because I had my phone on and
within and I learned to be Iwas fortunate really because I had this Facebook
site all of a sudden being blokesput on there. Oh we never even
attempted to save the ball right rightnow, I'm not saying he didn't.

(13:28):
I'm just saying. What I'm sayingis we were long. We were getting
to a point with Long, rightor people was he only had to come
out and looked the wrong way andthey were getting ready at the slaughter the
bloke right, and I had acertain amount of sympathy for him, Okay,
we've got a new goalkeeper, andthat's fine, but I just you
know, to go out and losefour nil. I mean, we were

(13:52):
humiliated, being no doubt about that, because you know they was moving the
ball around. You know, wewere at times, we were chasing shadows.
If we play like that Saturday, and I'm talking about we won't well,
hopefully we won't do. Listen, you're talking with a lot of emotion,
and I understand that because we lostfour neil, but you have to

(14:15):
look into it deeper, mate,in the sense that I'm sorry, You're
right. I understand what you're sayingbecause you're a fan. You want to
see us go out and win everygame. But for the last god knows
how many seasons, the League Cuphas not really meant anything to any championship
side because most of them go outof it. And the reason being for
that it comes very early in theseason. They've just got going in the

(14:37):
league. And what it looked liketo me the other night, and you
tell me if I'm wrong, whenwe started against Charlton in the preseason friendly,
we was all over the place. We was all over the place against
the side like Charlton that ain't goingto probably finished mid table in that league
ready, and I think looked atan half decent side there. They may
get a bit higher, but thebottom line is he played the game,

(15:01):
in my opinion, a bit likeit was a friendly in the sense that
a sadder players played it. Butthey won't be playing a friendly against Bristol
City. I'm sure they'll be playinginto decals and at the end of the
day, I don't know how youeven get team. I usually get frustrated
at friendlies when I went to afriendly game, figuring what are you doing

(15:24):
it? But they're all doing thingswith a purpose. And listen, the
biggest thing that Gary Rout went tohappen on the other night was to come
through without any injuries and whatevers.Mary Wallace gets benned up in the first
few minutes with a clash of eggs, so I don't believe. I mean
Joe Bryan who I think it's abrilliant player. I think he was looking
to rest him. But it's amatter of priorities, whether we like it
or not. Staying the manager priorityis Saturday. That game the other night

(15:50):
is I'm not saying for one minutehe can send his side out to lose
four, Neil, we know hedidn't and he didn't expect to lose four.
Hell, I'm sure he didn't.But the bottom line is that little
bit extra bit of competitive competitiveness whichwill come next week in the league game.
We'll be there. There was positivesthe other night and macau was good
again, was good again. Youknow. Yeah. I mean there's a

(16:14):
lot of come back in on Saturday, like the Nory what more, that
will make the scene as well.So you've got in perspective. No,
No, that's right. I meanI get all that, Ted. I
mean all I'm saying is we Imean we played Chilton and a friendly or
or and that, and if youlook at if you can, I mean
it's not strictly the same. Butwhat I'm saying is we're put in a

(16:37):
decent in comparison to the other night. The performance against Chilton was okay,
right, and then when we playedsit out and it was going to be
a different game anyway because it's continentala lot of position. But again,
you know, we put in adecent performance. And I only thought you
were there Saturday, Ted, Iwasn't, but I sort of thing and
I was glad because I agree withyou. Middlepor are going to be one

(17:00):
of the teams. It's going tobe up there. And I think in
the automatic spots myself. So anyof result you got out of there other
than any feet is a victory, even if it had been a draw,
if you know what I mean. But uh, but no, I mean,
I get all that. But whatI'm saying is if you know,
I just sat there, I meanand all that, and you know,
and all our players that we've we'vesigned, I think they're all potentially good

(17:23):
players. I haven't seen one badplayer yet in Venice. They've all been
they've all been good players. Uh. But I just sat there and I
thought myself, I just can't believewhat I'm watching it. And all I'm
getting at is is that we shouldbe looking at because you know, performances
like that, if we start gettinginto the abbit of them sort of performances,

(17:45):
I mean, it's just unacceptable. If they perform like that on Saturday,
I'll be out anyway. But ifthey do perform like that on Saturday,
then we real need to start themto worry a bit. Would the
only thing, the only thing, nine percent sure that we will have a
performance on Saturday that will match whatwe see at middles Barren. I mean,

(18:07):
I would agree, I would bethe only thing I would discount Saturday
for this reason. Right in itand I get and I get, I'll
get, I understand ted and inPrince Will Greens. But I think on
Saturday it's going to be different anywaybecause of the circumstances surrounding the game.
Right, I think everybody's going toit's all going to be rather emotional and
Saturday. On that point, thenon that point, I've actually said to

(18:33):
a mate of mine at half timeand he said to me, and what
I say. I said, tothink about a game coming up Saturday,
right the wrong, rightly or wrongly, people will want to be playing Saturday
rather than out they're playing now.And he said, what do you mean
by it? I said, mentally, it gets in your brain and you've
done that little percentage that is thefull commitment of a tackle or getting a

(18:55):
ball back, and that sort ofthing just goes missing a little bit for
whatever reason. I genuinely think oneof them reasons the other night, and
again I'm not making excuses, isjust what I believe. I'll talk in
what I believe in reality that someplayers are out there the other night a
bit liking a friendly against Sitzid andI will get injured in that game because
the next week is the proper game. And I think there was a little

(19:18):
bit of that rightly or wrong loopthe other night in players performances because they
want to be there on Saturday becauseSaturday is a big game for the reasons
you're talking about the next league game, right, yeah, yeah, no,
it's right, yeah, Well onthat very little I know you're absolutely
right. Stand. You make validpoints and we all make valid points as
well, and that's why we dowhat we do. At the end of

(19:40):
the show, so Darvis pat wantsto say that the Blue Anchor Public House
is now stelling our program pre game, So if you pop in for a
bit, why not pick one up? Right, We will take a break

Our first guest this seasoning is verymuch another friend of the show. He

(22:00):
was born in bishop Stortford on theeighteenth of April nineteen forty seven. He
played in Gold the for Chelmsford Coventryand of course three hundred and eighty times
for the Lions. He joined theLions in nineteen seventy six and stayed for
eight seasons. After hanging his glovesup in nineteen seventy six, he went
on to manager in Sweden and Norway, where he currently resides. This gentleman

(22:22):
is also known for scouting for Spurs, Aston Villa and Everton, and recently
he had a book out called TheLion King. I think You're all shouted
at the radio and knowing his name. Welcome to the show, mister Brian
King. Welcome to the show, very much, Thank you very much,
very impressive. Is it really me? I can't believe in nineteen seventy six

(22:42):
I was born, Brian, Sowe don't want to work the maths out.
I wish it was a year Iwas born. Bless you before new
your birthday, Brian, come on, said before I let you off,
guys to do the guys. Brian, you recently had a spell of being

(23:06):
quite poorly. I'm feeling batter now. How are you feeling, mate?
I'm fine. I'm fine. I'vehad all the necessary treatment. I've had
the the okay from from my doctorswhere I went to have an one yearly
check. So I'm up and running. I'll fit for a game. Not
sure where i'll get back in themiddle wall team with all of them goalkeepers.

(23:27):
That's the point. One's trying tomove on. As we were discussing
you, you'll find out when youlisten back. But that was all about
Ted. I'll start with yourself. How did you go? All? Right?
Evening? Brian, good evening.Love me to speak to you again.
So, Brian, you're considered alegend among the middle Wall faithful.
Quite rightly so, in my opinionyou're my number one goalkeeper of all time.

(23:51):
But of all of your three hundredand eighty games for the Lions,
which one stands out in your memory? Brian Well? I suppose I was
the one when we played Huddersfield.Funny enough, because there's a certain manager
there who I've been told was comingto see how myself and Barry Kitchener were
performing, and it was Sir AlRamsey. And from that point I got

(24:15):
called into a couple of England squadsand then finally got picked for the England
Portugal game in Portugal, which whichobviously was a great honor for me and
for the club. And on thatday we won one nil. I had
a couple of good shows from FrankWorthington. I was playing for Huddersfield dead,

(24:36):
but all I can remember was thatSir Al Framsey was going to be
there, and you know, asnervous as you are, and as nervous
as you might feel, I justended up playing alf decent game and from
that he must have made a note, and luckily enough I got picked for

(24:57):
an England squad and as I saidbefore, it was a great honor for
me and it was a great honorfor the club and my family and everybody.
So so i'm I was well pleasedwith that game, I must admit.
I think Alf told me afterwards hehad quite an exciting trip from Ipswich
to the Old Den, which madea few laughs. And apart from that,

(25:21):
I suppose Evan and Away that thatday in the fourth round the FA
Cup, I was very fortunate inthe first half, had a few good
saves kept us in it and wemanaged to go on and when it was
a great day for us. Unfortunatelythe drawer in the fifth round was not
what we were looking for, wasa way to Wolves, who were a
very good side at that time. But I suppose those two games and well,

(25:47):
I think every game I played forMilwoll was very special for me because
I got a great affection for MelvilleFootball Club and especially the Old Den.
Great place to and your trade. The fans were wonderful, not at the
start, but it put me underpressure, so I think it made me

(26:10):
a better goalkeeper, it made mea better person and I'll always be grateful
to them and Millwall Football Club.Of course. Evening Brine's Davia, Oh,
Dave, I think very much totalk to you. It is one
of my favorites as well. Anyway, cut to the chaser. You made
your debut from Millwall in the sixtyseven sixty eight season when you took over

(26:33):
the goalkeeping shirt from Laurie Leslie andyou get their shirt until the seventy four
seventy fiant season when Ray Goodard tookover. How did your debut come about
with Millwall and can you tell usabout the end of your career when you
was playing with the Lions. Well, obviously, I'll just signed in the

(26:56):
June of sixty seven and I wasobviously brought to be a number two to
Laurie wonderful goalkeeper, brave, bravebrave man and taught me a lot,
always spoke to me. It seemsstrange that he was coaching me to take
over his place, I suppose,But it was I got wind because I'd

(27:22):
already played in a League Cup gameagainst Northampton. It was a game at
the Den which we won five one, so I'd already got a test or
a taste of of what playing infront of the frightful Millwall crowds as I
kept being told as scary at deathand all this kind of stuff, and
I must have running out on thatpitch that night. It was great experience,

(27:47):
great experience. But I got winthat Laurie had been injured and the
week previous and Benny had said tome, you know, do you think
you're ready? If you feel yeah, I'm okay. If I've got to
play, I'll play. But Iwas told then on the Monday that Laurie

(28:10):
wouldn't be able to play and wewere going to play Blackpool, and Blackpool
at the time were number one inthe league, so it's going to be
a big game. I had,funnily enough. I think we had a
coach load of people come up fromStansted. The people from Chalcer came as
well and played in the game, and it was a great atmosphere. I

(28:37):
think there's about twenty thousand people therethat night. Always good to play a
night game at the Old Den,and the atmosphere was wonderful and we drew
one each. Some people said thatmaybe I could have made a better effort
for the goal, but if ifyou could see the goal, it was
a shot boy. Funnily enough,my manager at Covent City Gordon Milne and

(29:03):
it got a deflection off of HarryHarry Cripps. I managed to block it,
but the ball went a little bitaway. As I've got up to
try and make the second save,I think it's Jerry Ingram scored and it
ended up one one. But Iwas pleased with my performance up to a
point. I suppose I could havedone a little bit better with a goal.
But I got told by some supportersafterwards that I was not as good

(29:26):
as Laurie Leslie or Alex Stepley inrather a fearsome tone. As you might
say. I won't say the words, but we've all been brought up probably,
but it made me think. Itmade me think, but that was
life. Then that was life. And I went on that season actually to

(29:47):
play about seventeen eighteen games, whichfor me seemed to come early. You
know, I'd only only just signedfor the club, and to make that
amount of games in my first seasonwas encouraging. And I think Laurie realized
that he might get a bit ofstiff opposition here and especially competition. So

(30:08):
from that from that time on really, once I got into the team,
I think I think I made fiveor six seasons. I don't think.
I think I missed one or twogames, I think, and I set
a record for the most consecutive games. I'd set a record also when my

(30:33):
last game comes from Millwall for thegold Creep, who've made the most league
appearances, which I think is aboutthree hundred and two, and that record
still hasn't been beaten, which whichpleases me to think that I'm still the
record holder of league appearances for Millwall. But of course we left on a

(30:56):
not such a good note because wegot relegated that year. Benny had gone,
Gordon Jago came in. He wantedto rebuild the team and he said
to me, look, we've we'vespoken with board. I want to bring
in some new players. Brian, would you be prepared to go. You've

(31:18):
got Ipswitch, you've got commentary.I know they're intrusted, they're both they
both want to make an off ofyou. So I said, well,
if it's going to help you theclub, and obviously it did because they
got promotions that year, but themoney from me was used to bring in
Trevor Lee, Phil Walker and thesekind of players, and Millwall moved on

(31:45):
and we played Millwall the following seasonfor my testimonial game, and I believe
it's the only testimonial game they've gotabandoned ten minutes from the end because Coventry
scored and the Coventry player obviously wentto the cold blue the cold blue lane
end and made a little bit ofa fuss about scoring and not not a

(32:07):
sensible thing to do at any time, and they sent a pit. An
awful lot of people come on thepitch, which brought and into the game.
But you know, as I say, my time at Millwall eight years
and three hundred and two league gamesand friendlies and cup games and everything,
I think it goes past four hundred, you know, But it was a

(32:30):
great period of my life, greatperiods, such a wonderful club. I
mean when I come down there nowand was it forty years since I played,
nearly fifty years since I played, and people still talk to me.
You know. It's maybe not theyoung people, but it's the grandfathers and
the fathers, And I'm very humbleabout the way people still remember me,

(32:52):
and I'm very grateful, and sowas my family were you were one of
the best gold keepers of those thoseyears. The cities and seventies for me
the one but were we had somecracking goalkeepers and you were definitely a standout
goalkeeper then thanks so right yeah, well all right, Brian, standing mate.

(33:15):
Well, I have to say ina follow one from that, of
all the goalkeepers we've had down atMillwall and all the ones I've ever seen,
by a country mile, you're betterthan any of them. So when
you know, and the word legendgets bounded around a lot these days,

(33:37):
which is not something new, butin your case that's certainly you know,
nobody could argue that. And tobe fair, when I've heard it said,
I've never heard anybody dispute that anyway, So your legendary status is secure,
mate, And no, I meanyou know it's you was an exceptional

(33:58):
goalkeeper. Uh without that any andthe game that you talked about Northampton,
I was at that game, butyeah, but I remember that game very
very well. Anyway, mate,Uh, you played along You've played one
about legends. You played along somewith alongside some legends like Kitch Golden Hill,

(34:22):
Airy Dumphy, posse Weller and evenAlan Dawney. H what would they
like to play alongside? Well, most of you know Alan Dorney myself aiming
to an extent, and we Istarted. I started in the reserve,

(34:42):
so I was I was playing withAlan, also with Barry Kitch, and
I mean it was just a greatIt was just a great bunch of ads.
I mean we all complimented one another. They were good players. I
mean you don't even meet to tellyou that. But Kitch was my room
mate for nearly eight years and forall, for all his faults, I

(35:07):
know I'd probably had someone all,but it was. It was a great
room mate and a great mate anda great player. I was so upset
really when at a period when wewere both look as though we were going
to be moving myself to Leeds andhim to Liverpool, but it didn't materialize

(35:28):
a because I don't think the clubwere made the right offers money wise.
I know that I lost out toDavid Harvey and Kitch lost out to Larry
Lloyd. But it did It didn'ttake away the fact that the players that
we had at Millwall. I joinedwhen Keith Weller, Derek Posse, Dennis

(35:49):
Manette joined the club and I wasprobably the lightweight at the time. I
cost five grand and the post wastwenty five. Keith was fifteen, Dennis
was about twenty so so we alljoined the club at the same time in
sixty seven and I played fundly enough. I played against Keith and the Post

(36:12):
in the metropolitanly when I was atChelter they were playing for Top of May
team and I was playing for ChilternReserves. So it was strange that our
paths would would meet and we'd beplaying for the same club two or three
years later. But great players andKeith Keith Weather was a fine player,
I mean, as was everybody whohad passed who had Barry Bridges, who

(36:37):
had a character called oury Cripts aswe all know, and I mean Barry
Bridges came along, Alf would comein. Merlin Gordell another player who was
who was brought to the club, you know for a set of church.
But but he was. He turnedout to be a great little player.

(37:00):
I mean he was. He wasdone orthodox and a lot of things,
but a great skill and it wasa hell of a finisher. I mean
he used to annoy me in bloodytraining, he really did. I mean
the times used to tuck things inoff the post, I mean, and
it was never luck. I meanused to do it time and time again,
but great memories for me and somegreat names and great players. Ryan,

(37:24):
you was talking about your England capand whatever. I'd actually think if
you'd have been in goal in nineteenseventy, we'd have won the World Cup.
There was only other one other goalkeeperthat would have made it, say
that Golden Banks did, and thatwas you. I don't think others were
capable, but I'll generally think thatif you'd have been there, mate,

(37:44):
we probably would have won it.Anyway, After your footballing career finished,
Brian, you went up scouting thisright and and you Jims, Well,
I didn't actually go into scout himbecause I was I was at Coventry.
I finished at Coventry, of course, so I worked with a youth team
for nearly a year and I justmissed playing and I just missed, you

(38:08):
know, not being able to playreally. And I've got an offer through
the FA and an old manager calledBertie Me who was arsenal manager, and
they asked me if I had everthought about going abroad and managing or coaching,
because I was a staff coach atthat time and worked for the FFA

(38:29):
doing FA courses and things. AndI said, well, I could always
ever look at it, which Idid in Norway, and that led me
to a little town in Norway calledGrimstad and the club called Yev and that's
where my managing career started. AndI enjoyed it. I enjoyed it.

(38:54):
The country was good and settled in. We had a little bit of a
problem with my wife's mother because sheshe got cancer and my wife had to
go home and nurse her and takethe children as well, and so that
unnerved us a little bit and madethings a bit harder than they should have

(39:16):
done. But but I enjoyed mytime managing. We had the first year
when I was managing, we hadChelsea over for preseason. One year we
had Crystal Palace over for preseason.Another year we played Newcastle United. The
managers at the time at ken Schallitoat Chelsea, Terry Venablest at Crystal Palace,

(39:39):
and dear old Jim Smith at atNewcastle. But regarding the scouting,
I've done practically fifteen years of managingover here and in Sweden. I had
seven promotions in that time. Wefound a lot of good young players in

(40:06):
our clubs that I was that Iwas manager of who went on to play
international football, not top internet althoughalthough one of them did and he became
a very very famous player. Andthat's Henninburg who I've just been speaking too
funny enough just before you you comethrough, I've been because he's just taken

(40:27):
over the manager of AIK Stockholm, and I've just been having a chat with
him and how we how we firstmet one another, and how I encouraged
him as a kid and I've gothim to mens Unite for a trial and
Alec Ferguson liked him a lot, couldn't sign him because he never really played
top international football. But just goingback over I've I've got things like from

(40:52):
Ron ron Atkinson. I found RonAtkinson a player called Roland Neilson, a
fallback from Sweden. He went onto play for Sheffiard Wenzy went on to
play for Coventry played he's also managerof Coventry and he played over a hundred
times for Sweden. Old of MelburgI took to aston Villa and dear old

(41:14):
John Gregory says to me that probablythe best signing he ever made, which
which makes me feel okay. AndEverton we've had well, there's a story
that Duncan Ferguson the old center forputting the newspaper that I took early in
Harland to to Everton when he wasfifteen, and we could have signed him

(41:38):
for fifty thousand euros compensation, butfor some reason they didn't fancy him.
They said, oh, he's toobig. He's when all the people around
him grow up. But as bigas him, he won't be as effective.
I spoke to someone at Everton lastyear. I said, he's has
shown me he's not as effective ashe was when when you saw him,
may I mean he was he worthan hundred and fifty minute. Yeah,

(42:01):
I had a big hand in whenI was at Tottenham bringing Luka Modrich into
Tottenham saw him as a kid andbrought him in. And of course Luca
is and still is one of thegreat players in the world. I mean,
play for Real Madrid. And againhe's he's as humble as I am

(42:23):
when I come to him, wheneverhe sees me, you know, you
made my career and all this stuff, and I feel very, very humble
when he told me that I'm sucha great player. But these are the
things that please you when you're scouting. You know, I've found young players
and we took not so long ago. I had a young left back who

(42:47):
played for AFC Copenhagen, a boyfrom Costa Rica, bran Aviado. We
shigned him for a million pounds atEverton and sold him to sold him Sunland
for eight and a half million. So those are the things. The same
with the same with moderates. Whenyou look at all End, you know

(43:08):
you start to think, well, okay, we are on big money as
scouts, but it's not all aboutmoney. It's about the reward of finding
it and get the thing carried out, joining the football club and it pleases
you. It pleasures you when theseplayers are successful. There are obviously players

(43:30):
you recommend that ain't as successful orthe club says no too, as they
did early in the all End atthe time, it's all about opinions,
all about opinions. I'll be interestedto see how the new signings come through
for Millwall. I've never really hadany great contact with Millwall regarding any kind

(43:53):
of scouting or maybe helping the clubout in this area where I lived,
so they obviously have enough people tolook after that start of it. So
good luck to him. You obviouslyup to date with the Lions from Norway.
What do you make of the millWolves transfer activity this year and diving

(44:20):
into the European market. Well, the boy they got from Belgium, I
think I let both stand and aimand know that he's a decent player,
a very good lad, good temperament, complain several positions. The goalkeeper,

(44:40):
funny enough, he was at astonVilla when I was at aston Villa.
He was there as a young goalkeeper. Very nice Lad, very nice Lad.
Hasn't really had a great run apartfrom at Birmingham where he performed quite
well for them. He'd be interestingto see how he settles in. And

(45:00):
I always say that that you've gotenough competition there now to see who's going
to be your number one. Theboy Sarkis has not really had a great,
a great consistent run apart from Birmingham. As I said, George Long.
You know, everybody seemed to criticizeGeorge Long last year and I thought

(45:24):
wrongly to be honestly, to behonest, because around his feet George is
very good. His distribution is good, he's quicker around the box, is
a good size, just as theboy Sarkish is. They're probably the same
age George has had more experience thanhim, but Sarkics has been bought for

(45:45):
one point two millions, So Idon't think there's going to be any dispute.
Who's going to start, is itwhether it's Sarkics long or Belkowski bartox
Is? Was he thirty six yearsof age? I was beginning interfere he
might get near my record. Buthe's got a few years ago. Yeah,

(46:06):
a few more appearances and these twois going to take him affair.
He's going to take him a farewellagain up to three hundred, but yeah,
it'll be interesting to see. Hewas number one, but I think
the number one and he seemed todo. He looked confident on Saturday against
Middlesbrough as long as as obviously hadhis nose pushed out here. Now he's

(46:30):
going to be a bit upset. He's going to get irritated. Everybody's going
to say, oh, he'd bemoving on and moving on. But I
think he's far too easy to blamehim for last year. It's not only
him. He didn't cause you tomiss out on the on the playoffs.
I think it was a team effort, and he's very easy to blame one

(46:53):
man and I thought it was wrongto blame him. Bartoss has proved that
he he is a steady goalkeeper.Needs to do a lot more for me,
to be honest, with all theexperience that he's got, he should
be he should have been commanding thatbox a lot more for me. But
it'll be interesting to see how Sarkicsdoes. Hope he does well. I

(47:16):
hope if any one of the threeplays, I hope they will do well
for the Walter. Regarding regarding theother one, I mean the goal,
the goal of the young boys scoredon Saturday. What a goal. That
was unbelievable. I mean, wasthat his first goal for the club in
the league. Yeah, yeah, not a bad way to open your account,

(47:39):
is it good? God? No, But that was a solid performance.
I'ming up there. Ain't easy andit was a good start. We're
defended well, we're in the past. We set have been giving goals away
in the last last ten or fifteenminutes. But we looked well organized.

(48:00):
I mean, we looked a goodteam there. There was no luck about
the result. I thought we lookeda good side. We'd played good football,
and then came this game in theweek which I didn't see and I
certainly didn't see the result coming, that's for sure. I suppose you gentlemen
saw the game, but I haveno chance to see it. But I

(48:23):
mean, four nil at home toRedding. I couldn't believe it. I
know what you mean, Brian, and most of them, most of that
reading team were under twenty one players. Shows the show. Yeah, it
just goes to show you. Butanyway, Brian, uh, well,
if you sorry, Dave, ifyou finished, yes, okay, Brian,

(48:45):
I want to. I want to. I'm interested in your point of
view on a couple of things. Now, you as a goalkeeper, i'd
be interested in your take. Nowif you was we all know that that
the back pass for all has beenaround for some considerable time. Now now
all right, when you was inGold that simply wasn't an issue. But

(49:07):
if you was playing today, howdo you think that you would? You
would get on with it? Isay, remember, I'm seventy six,
mate, I might struggle a bit, that's true. I love any six
years hander than you. But anyway, or you wouldn't want to go out
and play there. We always usedto work at least once a week.

(49:31):
I used to either play up frontwhile I'd usually play up front or play
out, so I was always workingon right or left foot, whether you
were kicking out of your hands. But when I first started, of course
you didn't have to worry about whenthe ball got played back to you.
It was it was quite easy tohave a backpass and picked up. But
the center forwards could then come afteryou and am you're into the ground.

(49:54):
And there were a few a fewcenter forwards about it wouldn't happen you into
the But no, I've quite fanciedthat, to be honest. I've never
had a problem kicking the ball, whether it's at my ends or off the
floor, right or left foot. But it's certainly makes it interesting. You

(50:16):
certainly want your you certainly want yourdefenders playing balls back to here so make
your job easier. But when I'veseen a couple of goalkeepers trying to deal
with stuff around the feet, wellnot the best, not the best,
as we would say. But yeah, yeah, I think I think I

(50:38):
would quite enjoy it. Yeah,I mean, just to follow on from
that bright I mean, Matt,I mean, it's not mere wallbit,
it's it's the same sort of thing. I mean, she shows you how
it is these days. But whenMan United, their manager ten Hard was
saying he wanted to sign a goalkeeperfor this season, right, I mean,

(51:00):
all right, they've got they've gotthe guy in now from who was
in the Milan. But but whenhe was being interviewed and they were all
he kept talking about was what hewas. He was he was looking for
a goalkeeper whose distribution with his feetwas first class. I mean, the

(51:20):
fact you know he could save withhis angel that was all a given he
was, you know, that waswhat he was looking for, a goalkeeper
with better distribution with his feet.I mean it sounds a bit I mean,
what would sure take on all that? But it seems a bit strange
than it in a white he wilthoughit's the norm. Now's both well,
I'll be I'll be very interested tosay this this fellow does. Because if

(51:44):
you think the gear who played anawful lot of games, yeah, he
made mistakes when stuff was around hisfeet, also made mistakes when when people
hit balls at him. But I'vegot a mate who lives in Amsterdam,
an Englishman who worked for a PremierLeague club as a scout, and he's
watched him a lot, and hesaid, just this is going to be

(52:05):
interesting because this bloke, he takeschances like you won't believe, and as
good as he is around his feet, supposedly, mistakes seemed to follow him.
So it's going to be interesting. And what did they spend on in
fifty million forty five millie? Alot of oh yeah, a lot of

(52:25):
money. I mean I watched thelast season in serry Are and to be
fair, he was he was topnotch as a gate rolled down but let
me obviously, but yeah, nowthey spent a lot of dough on him.
Yeah, and they spent a lotand a center forward as well,
again a player that we've followed. And to think they pay that kind of

(52:47):
money that surprised me a lot.Well, they paid one hundred and fifty
million for the two I mean, good god, one hundred and fifty million
for the two only buy Millwall Ithink by Charlton as well, wouldn't it?
Just it's been absolutely a real pleasure. We need to get a prediction

(53:14):
from you at this point. Obviouslya very sad day on Saturday, but
what would you back in the resultwill be gas Brittle City on Saturday?
Bright? Well, I hope I'mhoping for the occasion and I'm hoping for
the supporters in the club that millwill win by I'll be happy with one
nil, but as long as wecan, as long as we can produce

(53:37):
a performance which will benefit the occasionand make the chairman happy and he's family
happy, because then it will makethe club and the fans happy, and
that's all I worry about. Comeon, you lines, let's get a
result and show the chairman exactly whatwe're about as CFR. We've come here

(53:59):
six point two games that will dofor me. Brilliant Brian. Thank you,
gentlemen. I could have gone forhours and absolutely brilliant Brian. We're
here from some neighbors down the road, which I'm sure you're aware of.
Fisher Athletic. Thanks everyone, okay, lovely by bye bye bye bye lads,

(54:20):
Bye bye. Hi. I'm Pauland Mill and Fisher if C supporter.
There's always been strong links between ourclubs and such Fisher IF so we'll
like every minds Millwall season to getholders and supporters club members that entry to

(54:44):
watch Fisher. It's just a fiverif you show your car that the gate.
Brilliant. Let's not forget if onthe away days when you can't get
to see the lines, why notfollow our neighbors down there at Fisher Athletic.
Next up our lovely Ellis Barr.Hello, Ellis here and I'm glad
to be back talking about Merwell.I know many have watched my videos,

(55:06):
so you will all know that Idon't wear experience as much anymore. I'm
really looking forward to starting secondary schoolin September. Thanks for your support along
the way. It is now timeto hear what all the mill Will teams
are up to and what is nextfor Garrion Rollts Lions. Come on there

(55:30):
will, Thanks Leis and keep upthe videos. No Jeff for Paul this
week, so straight on to thefirst team action, which will make George
happy because he's got ready. Thisnext up is the for the Lions is
Bristol City and Tears. Guys,we had an interlude there. You gave

(55:52):
me a little bit of information Ican pop into her now. They open
their season with a one one drawerat home to Preston. Nigel Pearson is
now in his second season and asmanager, and we'll be looking to improve
on the fourteenth place last season.Saturday for the lines will also be a
very emotional day with a day dedicatedto our ex chairman John Barrelson. And

(56:13):
the news I got in between whichI wasn't aware of, is that Alex
Scott there Maverick Midfield has now beensold to the twenty million, which will
have a bit of an impact onSaturday. Ted, I start with you
so a bit about this game andprediction please. I just hope the day

(56:34):
is what we all wanted to be, a fabulous day shame, you know,
emotions for the Barrelson family and whatJohn actually meant to us all,
and then we go out and puta performance on worthy of that occasion,
and I believe we will. Ithink Bristol City a bit of an up

(56:54):
and downside. I'll see him reallylike a bit of a mid table team
this year. They're a decent side. But I just think and I hope
and pray that we can bring thesort of fall into the game that we
showed at Middlesborough. And I thinkif we do that and we get on
a roll, get to go early, I can see it's winning. I'm

(57:15):
going to go conservatively with a twonil, but I wouldn't be at all
surprise if it's more than that,Dave. Yeah, it's a day that
we're all looking forward to in lotsof different ways because the emotion is going
to be high, and hopefully usas fans, we'll survive it, because,

(57:38):
as I say, is one ofthose things that is not going to
be nice. But hopefully the footballwill take over and we'll be able to
show chairman just what he meant tothe club. So going with that,
I'll follow with Ted and I'll gofor two nil as well. And of

(58:00):
course, Dad, well, Imean I fully agree with with what Ted's
says in terms of how we wouldplay and hopefully it all goes right and
all that sort of thing. Imean, I don't you know, I
don't think no one can really disagreewith it. I'm just open that,

(58:21):
you know, on the day it'sit's apart from winning the game, what
I want to do. I'd liketo see it be a very memorable game,
right because I you know, Imean, Jab has been the best
chairman we've had, you know,I mean it's just no one liked was
never like him, and you know, you know he and his family,

(58:42):
you know, deserve the full youknow, the best we can achieve that
day and so yeah, I meanthe victory. I agree with Ted and
Dave and he's just hope it's agood day all around, victory wise,
performance wave, you know, andand hopefully everybody come out at the end

(59:04):
of the game a lot happier thanit was before they win in it.
Indeed, I can't disagree quick predictionstand Oh, I think we'll win two
nil so three two nails. Sofar. I just wanted to be a
really wonderful day and no stupid peopledoing stupid things because the way you stand
has been splitting in half. Butit is going to be a sad day.

(59:30):
It would be very, very emotional. But I can't disagree. I
think it'd be two three nil aswell. And I think we'll be sitting
on six points come five o'clock.Well, half past five, doesn't bother
how long these games are going onnow on Saturday afternoon. Gary's a good
point you make. I mean,us as fans can make it a memorable
day, and make it a memorableday for all the right reasons, not

(59:52):
for the wrong reason. Yeah, there's a full hour stand at the then
can be a fantastic place, butalso sometimes brings a few idiots in and
I would plead with any millwall fareand that's near any idiot that starts to
do or look like doing anything stupid, grab hold of him by the scruffle
and neck and throw him out, because there's no place for that on Saturday

(01:00:15):
at all. It's make sure it'sa memorable day for all the right reasons
exactly. I mean, yeah,I don't. I'm just so add to
that. And I agree with whatChed says, because you know we're going
to have on that day, We'regoing to have the media there, aren't
we and they're going to be therein force, right, and you've only

(01:00:35):
got to get one plank start messingabout and that's all. That's all that
we'll hear about. You know,we'll be posted that, you know,
we how we insulted the chairman's memoryand he's family and all this sort of
stuff. I mean, they're thesepeople were sitting there waiting for something like
that. Well that's as well. All you're asking for trouble doing that.

(01:00:58):
But let's have a look around thecountry. Every single club in the country
has got their way fans segregated bysome black top hauling. Why woun't we
do it. We've got to bewe gotta be careful. Well, I
know we've got idiots, but youknow what I mean, you know exactly
what I'm saying. Yeah, butI mean I'm yeah, that's right,
but I'm not. I'm just nottalking about this displute in the disdain,

(01:01:19):
so to speaking. I'm talking aboutin general. You know, we everywhere
exactly Okay, the fingers crossed. It is the day that John gets that
we all wanted to be. We'lltake a break there and hear from Fantastic

Are you doing? Everyone? Nick? Before I passed it to Ted,
who's got the first question? Howhave you been coping out there? I'm
going out to the couple in abouta week's time. But what's it been
like over in Sicily with the weather. If you go into Spain, you

(01:03:05):
better bring some oxygen. That's whatI'm telling you today. It was twenty
seven, twenty eight. It's beenlike that for about a week. It
peaked a couple of weeks ago.It was forty two for about five days
and actually my car one morning, although it was out in the open,
it must be said, it wasactually fifty degrees inside there. Wow.
So when it's about forty two fortythree, basically what you do, or

(01:03:29):
you other stay indoors in front ofthe air conditioner for about four hours it's
really hot, and then you go, you know you're gonna have a dipendacy,
or you know, just drink alot of cold beer. That's what
I do. Fair enough, fairenough, Ted, he's all yours,
you're all mine. Nick. Yeah, in forty years of the place,

(01:03:52):
that still gets called the New inwhich does make me laugh. I've got
to be honest, but I supposeit'll never be the old Dad. What's
your most memorable game that you've seenthere? Oh, dear, well,
yeah, it's a shame about theNew Dan, because I've got lots of
good memories about the Old Den.But if we're sticking to the New Den,
apart from the Cup games, youknow, the Everton and the Leicester

(01:04:14):
games, I'd have to say thatWest Dam game and we beat them for
one simply because of the atmosphere thatwas there. We beat West Dam of
course, and it was the onlygame that I've ever watched, I'm sure
where there were three penalties, twoof which we missed, one of which
they scored. Their goalkeeper was sentoff. From memory, I'm sure I
think it was by water. Yeah, and k Hill scored a couple that

(01:04:38):
day, I think, and therewas an own goal. I think west
Dam scored an own goal and westill managed to win four one, and
that was I think that was twothousand and four. And that year I
think we finished about mid table andI think west Dam made the playoff final
and they lost a crystal palace ifmemory serves me right, which really serves
them right, don't it. ButI mean, for the atmosphere, I
think that was probably the best gameI scene. And I think we played

(01:05:01):
quite a big game that season aswell. Yeah, yeah, absolutely,
yeah, I'm trying not, I'mtrying not to talk about that one,
but I mean yeah, I mean, I mean, yeah, yeah.
The Sunderland one, of course,I watched that on TV. I couldn't
get there. Fantastic day for everybody, I mean, you know, the
Sunderland result and everything. And thenof course one was to the FA Cup

(01:05:24):
final, which I couldn't get tomyself anyway. But no, for me,
the west Ham game in the oldDad definitely, And I think we
even made Christian daily the man hada match, didn't moved for his own
goal? That I think we didactually, Yeah, tells me right.
Didn't you come back the next seasonor whatever? The same thing he did?
He scored two and goals in twogames. Yeah, I'd actually forgotten

(01:05:47):
about that. He did do that, didn't he? Yeah, middle all
legend. Another one Tom missed wasbecause he sat on the ball. He
set on the ball for a goodfew minutes before we talk to Ben Away.
Yeah, and he missed it bymiles. I remember that. Absolute

(01:06:08):
Yeah, Stave, that's right.Dave Nick my sympathists. You may recently
had a couple of weeks in Mortar, so for we three degrees yet I
know all about that. So let'sget on with this. The players that
we brought in this so far thisseason, how do you think it's going
to enhance side moving forward? Well, I think the five is brought in

(01:06:32):
and definitely strengthened the squad. Andmean, when do you think we've got
rid of them alone? And Bennettwho for me weren't championship players by the
time we let them go. Andthe four I think we had four,
didn't we on who played for uson a Crestwell, Shackleton, Stalls and
Burke they went back after being onloan. I'm very impressed with the players
he is brought in. I'm inthis bit. He looks really good to

(01:06:56):
me. Yea, I've only seenhim for a couple of games, but
I mean he looks really tasty andthe goalkeeper's archick. Although I've only seen
him play once. Something's going tobe an improvement on our current goalkeepers.
I mean, Bard had an absolutemayor against Redding, didn't he? And
I mean, you know George Longlast season. I mean he's had his
good games, but for me,he's no longer a championship level goalkeeper.

(01:07:18):
And I don't think we've really hada good goalkeeper at meal War for two
or three seasons now. And I'mgoing back as far as Jordan Archer,
who was for me, probably oneof the worst meal Wall goalkeepers I've ever
seen. So the players that theybrought in, I think this bit is
a big bonus for us. I'dlike to see him start with Brad Shaw
once because I don't think he's donethat yet. This Joe Bryant looks like

(01:07:41):
a good signing on a free fromwhat I understand of it. Harding I
think has been brought in to giveMcNamara a kick up the backside. And
Casperdanari don't know anything about him atall. I've only seen highlights of him.
Everyone Ransom raves about him. Sothere's a good competition in the team
now, so I'm hopeful and optimisticit's going to be a really good season.
I definitely think it's improved the squad. Nick what the teams we've now

(01:08:08):
got in the championship, I meanI would I would say that if personally
speaking, this is the strongest championshipon paper anyway I've seen in a long
time. Who would you how wouldyou rate some of them teams and how
do you think we might well doagainst them? Well? I would rate

(01:08:29):
Lester Leads and Southampston has been youknow, the favorites to go back up
again, simply because of the squadin the main they've managed to retain and
the money that they can spend, and of course also the support. Those
would be the big three threats forme, you'd think they'd finish one,
two and three. It is astronger division every year. It gets stronger
just because it's going to and whenyou have three Premiership teams coming down,

(01:08:51):
the strongest three coming up from theLeague one and the weekest three from the
Championship going out, so I meanit's always going to be stronger every season.
For me, I thought last seasonwas quite weak. Having said that,
and I thought that would have beena good season to get out.
This season, it's going to bemuch more difficult. Lester the biggest threat

(01:09:11):
for me personally. I'd like tothink that we are going to finish in
the top six this season, andI actually do fancy this from automatic promotion.
But I do see Lester winning thedivision myself, and I'm looking forward
to seeing us play there either homein r a way, I think they've
got leads at home in two orthree weeks, which is going to be
a good yardstick as to how we'regoing to manage for the rest of the

(01:09:32):
season. Having played these teams Nicklast time, I seem to remember that
you had a conversation there about aprediction league with Ted Nick. I haven't
heard a thing, no, Tedbut I am sending a couple of big
fellers around to your house tomorrow afternoonwho are going to give you a on
some new windows that you're going toneed. That's the right they'll have to

(01:09:55):
deal with. Well, Miss's gonnabe at work, so I'm not worried
about it. But there's a prediction. It's been spoken about it. But
if you want to redirect them twoblokes around the juge Lamp's ass because he's
the man that says yes, anote of these things. So I've got
these address as well. Address afterthe show. Okaya lovely? Yeah yeah,
good, yeah. It needs anew wind in these new windows as

(01:10:18):
well, by the sounding, itneeds a lot of new things made.
But these windows. But thanks forjoining us again, pleasure Bristol City statdy
prediction for us please made? Yeah. Well, I mean this. You
know you played twenty three home games, don't you. You can't win all

(01:10:39):
twenty three, and of course duringthe course of the season you're going to
lose some and you're going to drawsome moment to me, if they can't
beat Bristol City, then you canfigure about going up. I mean,
the day is a special day anyway, because the John Barrelson and everything in
the course it's it's a set out. I mean it's going to be eighteen
or nineteen thousand people there, clearly, so I mean, you know they've

(01:10:59):
sold all the tickets for proof ofthat. So they have to win.
I mean, if he starts Bradshawand this bit together, which I don't
know why he hasn't done that, they have to win. And I would
go for like one or two Nilsto follow up on that. Nick,
The reason Bradshaw didn't start was becauseyou'd been all week last week. Yeah,
I know, and I read thatand I understand that. Yeah,

(01:11:20):
And but he did come on forthe ninetieth minute, didn't he at the
Borough game? I mean, justto kill the game off, I suppose,
But yeah, I know understand. But even in the preseason friendly some
memory, I think he only playedthe pair of them once. My biggest
there is not so much to theattack now as it was last season.
My biggest there is the defense.Because we saw against Redding then you've got

(01:11:43):
a young Pascy forward line we hadagainst Cholton and the friendly, the defense
gets found out, So I thinkthat that needs working on big time.
I think, yeah, bringing inHarding is going to help a little bit.
But I mean, of course theloss of Cresswell is a major blow.
But I did I did hear arumor that, you know, they
are looking to bring in a centerhalf, a Premier League center half on

(01:12:05):
loan. But I mean these arejust rumors. You don't know, do
you. And the chance offer deadlinedoesn't end until September the first, so
you never know. But for me, they have to beat Bristol City and
they will one or two nil,i'd like to think, and then you
know that gives us six points andwell onwards and upwards. After that.
They've got some good games coming up. We've got leads at home in two

(01:12:26):
or three weeks at home and everythingelse. So I'm optimistic for this season
and they should beat Bristol City absolutelybrilliant, brilliant. So two Nils seeds
to be a very very popular Spurtsnight, all right, Okay, yeah,
I think everyone said it excellent crossed, then we should the head gun
put one on right, absolute pleasure. I have a lovely day tomorrow over

(01:12:49):
in Sicily, and I think it'scrossed. The three points heading our way
on Saturday. Yeah, I'll bewatching and thanks very much, have a
great evening. We're taking their breakthere to listen to our Bethany talking Ted
Robinson about clean Feed. All right, yeah, listen to this Bethany Warren

here clean Feed by Ted Robinson.Ah, hold on, we're talking about
an online recording platform. Okay, our Ted Robinson sponsors are online clean Feed

(01:13:34):

and see who else uses clean Feed. It's a great bit of kit at
a great price. Clean Feed. It's what we record on and what we
are listening to. Now, areyou sure? When was that done?
