Speaker 1 (00:04):
This episode is brought to you by my newest supporters,
Michelle and Dylan. Thank you for making the show possible.
(00:28):
Welcome to Paranormal Mysteries, and thank you for joining me
as we explore the unknown. I'm your host, Nick Ryan.
Let's begin tonight's journey with Andrew, who calls their story
my experience with Hell's Church. Andrew says he Nick, I
wanted to start off this email by saying thank you
(00:50):
for your podcast. I recently discovered it about a month ago,
and I really enjoy listening to it while I work
nights in healthcare while the clients are asleep. Speaking with
a co worker last night regarding an experience, or rather
multiple experiences I've had at a place known as Hell's
Church in Canton, Georgia. The next night, the night I'm
(01:11):
currently typing out this email, I was listening to one
of your episodes from the archive titled Little People, Creepy Creatures,
Odd Lights, and an Evil Cloak Dentity. This episode was
from April nineteenth, twenty twenty two. While listening to the podcast,
my coworker and ied jaws dropped to the floor when
(01:32):
the section regarding Hell's Church in Canton Georgia came on.
The experience that Peter had is uncannily similar to my own.
I'll start my story in October of twenty twenty when myself,
my boyfriend at the time, my brother, and his girlfriend
decided to look into haunted places that were near us
to explore at night. My then boyfriend said that he
(01:54):
knew of a place in Canton which was not even
twenty minutes from where I lived at the time, and
that we should check out. He said the name was
Hell's Church, and he gave us a quick rundown of
the history. For those that don't know, I would recommend
listening to the aforementioned episode for more details. A quick
little fun fact about this history, though, is that one
(02:14):
of my brother's high school teachers at that time was
a part of the cult that the other experiencer mentioned.
So we drove up the single lane road shrouded by vegetation.
Almost immediately I felt a pit in my stomach starting
to form while driving up. The closer we got to
the church, the more anxious and nauseous I became. We
(02:36):
pulled up to the single street light and I parked
the car. When we got out, I started to explore
the cemetery opposite the street from the church. I felt
immense grief and empathetic pain when looking at the headstones,
as if I was feeling the pain and suffering of
the horrid acts that once took place there. As the
prior experience mentioned, there is a very large oak tree
(02:59):
with large branches that people were hanged from in the past.
I still swear to this day that I saw something
resembling a translucent noose on that tree. Despite voicing my
concerns to my boyfriend, my brother, and his girlfriend, they
decided to get a closer look at the church. When
we hopped the chain to approach that pit, in my
(03:19):
stomach that I mentioned earlier blew up inside me. With
every step I took closer to the church, I grew
weaker and more nauseous. By the time I got close
enough to touch the front door, I started throwing up uncontrollably.
My boyfriend stayed with me to comfort me while my
brother went to explore the baptismal pool, which was just
(03:40):
behind and down a path from the church. While he
was headed in that direction, I noticed what I thought
to be candlelight coming from inside. We were almost certainly
the only ones there, and I freaked out and had
an immense gut feeling that we had to leave. Around
that same time, my brother comes running back towards us
(04:00):
at full sprint, screaming that we had to leave. I
didn't need convincing, and we all ran to the car,
locked the doors, and we booked it out of there.
We were there for maybe thirty minutes, and on the
drive back out, my brother said that he had seen
someone or something that was looking back at him from
the now almost empty baptismal pool still on the road.
(04:24):
The feeling of being watched and a feeling of people
all around the car and in the woods took over
and I continued out of there. On the drive back
to my brother's place to drop him off, everyone in
the car was filled with hatred, rage, and confusion. We
were fighting the entire car ride for no apparent reason,
and finally, after a few hours and a long car ride,
(04:47):
I arrived back at my own apartment with my boyfriend.
I have since gone back to the Hell's Church a
handful of times with different people, all of which have
experienced something odd, and all of which and did in
soiled moods and hate filled arguments every car ride out.
I've lately gotten a lot more into spirituality and the paranormal,
(05:08):
even researching into witchcraft, and of very weird coincidences have
been occurring. For example, I now live in California and
recently found out that my boyfriend that I mentioned earlier
in this story only lives a few hours away from me,
and we have since gotten back in touch. We were
talking about Hell's Church just the other day while combing
through old memories. I had told my coworker the story
(05:31):
of Hell's Church just last night. And what are the
chances that I end up hearing a story you told
about Hell's Church tonight? I don't know. Well that's all
for now, but I have plenty of other spooky stories
that I can share at a later time. Thank you
again for all that you do, and if you take
the time to read my story on your podcast, I
(05:52):
would be honored. Thanks again, Andrew. Our next experience comes
to us from Jared and Jared's experience is called Welcome
or Unwelcome. Hello everyone, I've been listening to this podcast
(06:12):
for quite a bit and I decided that it's time
to share my experience. I have had quite a few experiences. However,
this particular one is based in Ohio in my current apartment.
I was the first one to start the move into
this apartment, as my boyfriend was still packing his stuff
up from his previous apartment. That being said, I was
alone in this apartment for about four days to a week.
(06:35):
I laid my mattress down in my bedroom and I
left all the lights on. As I was laying there,
I could feel that something was making me nervous, but
I ended up falling asleep. At some point. The next morning,
as I was taking a shower, I heard something fall
and I froze for a second and thought to myself
that it was probably just the neighbors. After a few
(06:56):
seconds of thinking that, the smoke detector alarm started going
off and I jumped. I quickly ran out of the
bathroom shower with it still running, and I nearly tripped
on a picture frame that was on the ground in
the walkway right outside the bathroom door. At the time,
it didn't register that this is what I heard fall.
I ran into the kitchen and I noticed that there
(07:17):
was a small cloud literally right below the smoke detector,
but nowhere else. I didn't know how to turn the
detector off, and so I accidentally yanked it from the
ceiling and it stopped. It wasn't until later that I
thought about it and noticed that there wasn't any steam
from the shower that traveled out of the bathroom, nor
would it have traveled that far into the kitchen just
(07:39):
to be a cloud nowhere else but below the smoke detector.
The detector has never gone off since. However, passing my
boyfriend's room, I have seen a shadow figure. It was
really tall, Its head was just about to the ceiling,
and it had very small horns that were facing diagonally
out away from its face. It was pure black, like
(08:01):
a black hole. I caught it with a glimpse of
my eye and I had to take a step backwards
to look in again, and of course nothing was there.
I have messed with a Ouigi board two times a
couple of years ago, and I never said goodbye. Is
that still a bad thing? Well, anyhow, that is another
story to tell, and perhaps I'll send in more another day, Jared.
(08:27):
In my opinion, it's always a bad idea to mess
with a Ouigi board, especially if you don't close out
the session correctly. Please keep us posted if you experience
anything else. Our next experience comes to us from Cecilia,
and Cecilia says he Nick. I just finished listening to
(08:48):
your narration of the Copley incident, and it triggered a memory.
When I was fifty five years old, my daughter was sixteen.
This would have been about twenty and thirteen. On a
late afternoon. She was doing things in her room and
I was in my bedroom, which shares a common wall.
We are out in the country and the walls are
hollow except for studs, so I could hear her moving
(09:11):
around and doing things. For some reason, I felt quite tired,
which is unusual for me, so I laid down on
my bed and I soon drifted off to sleep. After
a while, I awoke because my whole body was vibrating
very quickly. I was very relaxed, as I had just
been sound asleep, but my whole body was vibrating as
(09:33):
though I was being prodded by some electrical power. I
was perturbed what was happening to me. I didn't panic.
I just laid there. I could still hear my daughter
in the next room, and she didn't seem to be
doing anything unusual. At this point, I was now wide awake.
After about fifteen seconds of this, I became mentally agitated.
(09:53):
I needed to understand what was going on. I was
facing away from the window, which I knew was open,
when my thoughts ran towards what kid is playing with
a A what some kind of a zapping device? Now
I knew I wasn't making any sense, but I struggled
to understand why my whole body was vibrating at such
a high rate, and all while I was completely relaxed.
(10:16):
I knew that that window behind me was open, and
I realized that something might be right outside the window
training some gadget, weapon, toy, ray gun, or something else
that was doing this. I was absolutely terrified to look
and see what was there. It took all the courage
that I have ever had and then some to talk
myself into turning around. It finally worked to tell myself
(10:39):
that whatever it was had no right to do this.
So I yanked myself to the left and I turned around.
The window was empty, just the deep blue sky of
a very late afternoon. I do not know what happened
to me. I have never had an experience like this
before or after. I don't have high blood pressure, heart disease,
(11:02):
or nerve disorders, and I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs,
and I don't have mental problems. The vibrating stopped after
about a half a minute, and then I gave myself
a couple of minutes to calm down. Eventually I got
up and I talked to my daughter, asking her, rather strangely,
if she had been doing anything unusual in her room,
(11:23):
like using some kind of electrical device, but of course
she hadn't. I will never forget this experience as long
as I live. Our next experience comes to us from Cat,
and Cat's experience is called Lady in a Flower Dress.
(11:47):
Kat says Heinik. I've been listening to your podcast for
about a year now, and I love hearing all the
stories your listeners send in. I've had several encounters with
the paranormal myself, and I finally chose one that i'd
like to share. This happened when I was about eight
years old and living in Chofield Barracks, a military base
in Hawaii in the early nineties. One night, I remember
(12:11):
waking up to what I thought was my mom tapping
me on the stomach to wake me up to get
ready for school. I remember turning around in my bed
and telling her that I wanted to sleep for five
more minutes. She then tapped me again several more times,
and that's when I knew that I had to get up.
When I opened my eyes, though it wasn't my mom,
there was a woman standing at the foot of my bed.
(12:33):
It was still dark out, but I had a night
light on the wall behind where she was standing into
the left, which cast a light on the right side
of her body. She was wearing a blue, old fashioned
dress that looked like it was from the forties or fifties.
There were little flowers on it, and she carried a
white handbag on her arm, and she wore a hat
with a flower sticking out of it. When I tried
(12:55):
to look at her face, though it was just a
black hole, there was nothing there. I don't know how
long I stared at her, but I pretty quickly pulled
my covers over my head and hoped that she wouldn't
pull off my sheets. It was terrifying, and I stayed
under there for what felt like an eternity before I
got the courage to peek out from underneath. When I
(13:15):
finally looked she was gone, so I ran to my
parents room. My dad remembers waking up and holding me
to try to calm me down. I was trembling as
I recounted the story to both him and my mom.
My parents are very open to the idea of spirits
and the paranormal, which was relief on my end. The
next day, my dad told me that the base was
(13:37):
likely attacked during Pearl Harbor, and since the woman looked
like she was dressed from that time period, she could
have been someone that died during that time. The story
did make sense, but needless to say that I didn't
sleep in that room for a very long time. Eventually
I had to go back, though, and thankfully I never
saw her again. However, I did always feel like someone
(14:02):
was watching me. Thank you for listening to my story
and thank you for creating such a safe space for
others to share kat. Before I continue, please consider showing

(14:45):
please stay tuned and I'll be right back. After these
brief messages, our next experience comes to us from Mark,
and Mark says, good morning, Nick. Once again, I hope
you and your family are doing well, and thank you
for sharing my first story back in episode three eighty two,
(15:07):
called Guardian Angel. As I said before, I have a
lot of other stories to tell, so here are a
couple more. My first experience is called Fred the Mischievous Ghost.
So following on from my first story, after the incident
with the ceiling plaster, my parents moved from that house.
(15:28):
We moved about three miles east to an area called
Beckton in East London. While living in this area, we
moved a few times. I mentioned this as it is
all relevant. As I grew up, we had a lot
of strange things happening in the houses that we lived in.
We would have doors open that were latched, closed, cupboard
doors would open, and other things along those lines. I
(15:51):
grew up with this most of my life, so I
just thought that it was normal, and every time something happened,
my mom or my dad would just say, don't worry,
it's only Fred. The strange thing, though, is that he
moved with us. As I said, we moved three times
while I was living with my parents in Beckden, and
the same things would happen in each of our houses.
(16:14):
My second submission is called where's my wallet? And was
that my dad? This also took place in Beckden. However,
this was in the early two thousands and less than
a year after my dad passed. My mom had moved
into a care home due to ill health, so myself
and my sister rented a house together. It was a
(16:34):
building that was about fifteen years old, so it was
quite a new build. Everything was normal for a while.
Nothing unexpected happened until one day when I was getting
ready for work. I got everything together, my keys, phone,
and my bag, but I couldn't find my wallet. Now,
every night when I got home, I would take everything
(16:55):
out of my pockets and put them on my unit
in my bedroom, same place every time, but this day
there was no wallet. Everything else was where I had
put it. So I looked around the unit. I thought
maybe it had fallen on the floor, but nope, no
sign of it. Maybe I had put it on top
of my TV. Nope, not there either. I searched and
(17:17):
searched for so long that I made myself late for work,
so I called them to let them know that I
was going to be late because I couldn't find my wallet.
So I carry on searching. I tipped my room upside down,
but there was no sign of my wallet anywhere. I
sat on my bed going over what I did when
I got home. I put my bag down, which was
(17:37):
still there. I put my keys down and they were
still there. I put my wallet there, but where was it?
So I got up and I checked again. Well, I
kid you, not on top of my TV, under a
pile of letters, which I had just put there ten
minutes before while searching my room was my wallet. I
(17:57):
thought that I was going crazy. I put the letters
on top of it and not seen it. No, that's
not possible, because I had even lifted up the TV
to see if it was under it. You know how
once you look everywhere, you start looking in stupid places
for things. It was just not possible. So I was like, fred,
was that you? Which? If it was? It was new,
(18:19):
as he's never done something like that before. But I
had to get to work and I didn't have time
to think about it, and I shot off to work.
So following on from this, a few months passed and
nothing else happened that I was aware of. Then one
night I got to bed is normal and I was
sleeping soundly, but around three am, I woke up. I
(18:40):
don't know why I just woke up. Now my room
is dark, very dark. So I wake up and I
look around my room and standing at the bottom of
my bed is a shadow. I should have been scared,
but I wasn't. I looked at it and it was
the same size and shape as my dad, who had
passed way less than a year ago. I looked at it,
(19:02):
and then I just laid back down and I went
back to sleep. The following morning, I mentioned this to
my sister and she goes into a panic. She calls
the local priest and asks if he can come and
bless the house. I was like, seriously, don't be silly.
So my sister makes the arrangements. The night arrives for
(19:23):
the blessing of the house, and the priest arrives, but
he brings someone with him. It's a woman, and he
introduces her. He then tells us what we need to do.
So we go to each room and he blesses them
as we walk around the house, leaving my room until last.
We then go into my room, and this is when
the woman looks at my bed and then looks back
(19:45):
at me. She says, you have something sitting on your
headboard looking at you. I was like what. She then says,
that's not who you thought it was. It was this.
She then looks at the p east and says, please continue.
So the priest does the blessing as he has throughout
(20:05):
the house. Once we are finished, she looks at me
and says, it has gone, but be careful. Not everything
is as it seems all the time. And they left.
So in one foul swoop, what I thought was my
dad coming to me to say goodbye turned into sleepless
nights for a few weeks. Once I did start to
(20:26):
sleep again, I kept waking up around three am for months,
and I keep seeing shadows, but thankfully nothing else has happened.
My final submission is called Scared out of my wits.
So this happened not less than a year ago, not
long before my first story was read out on your podcast.
(20:48):
So I have moved into my own flat in Essex,
east of London. It's the first place that I've lived
on my own. I've moved in and have been living
in the flat for around six or seven months. Everything
is going fine. Then my sleep starts getting broken. Every
night for a few months, at three am on the dot,
I wake up. I look at my phone and it
(21:09):
says three am. I start to wonder what keeps waking
me up, so I get a sleep monitor app on
my phone to see if it's cars or a lorry
passing by. However, there's nothing, no noises, no cars, nothing,
just my snoring. So this continues for a couple of months.
Then I start to see shadows around my bedroom at night,
(21:32):
Shadows in the ceiling corners where there haven't been shadows before.
I also see shadows at my bedroom door, all of
which start making me jumpy. Eventually, the night comes where
I was so scared, like I've never been scared before.
I go to bed as normal, I fall asleep, Then
I wake up. I feel someone lay on my bed
(21:54):
behind me. They snuggle into me and lay over me
as if to cuddle with me. I'm I'm frozen with
fear and eyes wide open. I lay there, scared like
I've never felt before, and I can't move. My body
won't do what my brain is trying to do, which
is jump up and swing for whoever it is. Eventually, though,
(22:15):
I can move. It feels like hours that I've been frozen,
but it was probably more like five or ten minutes.
I finally swing the covers off of me and I
jumped to the light switch and I turn it on. Nothing.
Nothing in my bed and no one in my room.
I'm shaking with fear and I feel sick with it.
So now I need to check each room. I go
(22:37):
in my hallway and I turn the light on, but nothing.
I then look in my living room and just behind
the door, I see a shadow of something around my
height five seven. I jump back behind the door and
I felt like crying. I switched the light back on
and I look behind the door again, expecting to see
someone standing there, but there was nothing. To check the
(23:00):
kitchen and bathroom. Switching on every light in my flat.
I was so scared that night I left every light
on in my flat and it took me hours to
get back to sleep. For the next month or so,
I was very nervous. Then one weekend, I felt as
though I needed to confront my fear. No, I did
(23:21):
not do a cleansing, but it did help me. I
went into each of my rooms and I said, you
are not welcome in my flat, and I ask that
you please leave. I did this, and since then everything
seems to have gone back to normal, but I was
terrified that night. Before I bring tonight's episode to an end,
(23:46):
I'd like to thank all of our experiencers for coming
forward with their stories, and of course I truly appreciate
each and every one of you for listening and showing
your support. With that being said, I hope you have
a wonderful rest of your evening and I'll be back
in just a few short days with more tales of
the unexplained. And until then, please remember, don't wait for
(24:09):
the unknown to come to you. Get out there and
find it.
