Speaker 1 (00:05):
This episode is brought to you by my newest supporters
Joanne Fattis, Lisa and Art. Thank you so much for
making the show possible. Welcome back to Paranormal Mysteries, and

(00:48):
thank you for joining me as we explore the unknown.
I'm your host, Nick Ryan. Tonight, let's begin with Jessica,
who calls her experience come and goodbye. Jessica says, I'm
a brand new listener, but I'm enjoying every episode. I
don't have any scary experiences, but two of them pull

(01:11):
at my heart strings and they bring a small sense
of comfort. To preface this first experience, my paternal grandmother
and I had the same teddy bear with a black
dress and paw that would play a short lullaby. When
I was a toddler, I was hospitalized for a very
short time related to asthma. My mother had purchased this

(01:31):
teddy bear to comfort me in the hospital. I'm not
sure how my grandmother came to have one as well,
but we love the fact that we both did. When
my grandmother passed away from cancer during my sixth grade
year around twenty ten, one of my only requests was
to have her bear that matched mine. At the time,

(01:51):
we lived in Fort Worth, Texas, in a newly built home.
A few months after my grandmother's passing, I had a
friend over for a sleepover, and she asked me why
I had two of the same bears. I explained to
her that one of them was my late grandmother's and
I then changed the conversation to finding snacks downstairs. Just
as we were about to walk out the door of

(02:13):
my bedroom, my grandmother's bear specifically began to play the
lullaby at the time, my friend and I got scared
and ran to my mother's room to tell her about
what happened. My mother explained, though, that it could have
been my grandmother telling me that she is okay and
that she's watching over me. I never heard the bear
go off again unless I had pressed the button myself,

(02:36):
and I now look back at it as a fond
memory instead of being frightened. My second experience was in
White House, Texas, when I was seventeen in twenty fourteen,
and it was a few days after my father had
unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack in our home.
The night of my experience, I had gone to bed

(02:57):
like normal, but I dreamt of being able to properly
say goodbye to my father. I remember in my dream
I was speaking to my dad at the end of
my bed about the culinary competition that would be coming
up in the next month or two after passing our
class competition to be on the team. He then tickled
my sides as he did when I was little, until
I began to tear up from laughing so hard. He

(03:21):
then got up and said I love you, goodbye. He
then walked out of my bedroom door. I yelled out,
asking him to wait and asking where he was going,
but he had already dissipated, and I then woke up
from my dream. I buwled my eyes out when I
awoke from grief and closure. I told my mom about

(03:42):
this dream, and she was grateful that I was able
to speak to my father's spirit and say goodbye. I
don't know if either of these are real encounters, but
I like to believe they are. Thank you very much
for taking the time to read my stories, Sincerely, Jessica.

(04:05):
Our next experience comes to us from mister A, and
Mister A's experience is called a visitation from my grandfather.
I have been listening to your podcast for half a
year and I'm all caught up. I do appreciate your
podcast where everyone tells their stories of their supernatural encounters.

(04:25):
I believe in the supernatural and your listener's stories, for
I have many encounters. I will share one story with you.
On November two, twenty nineteen, Da Day Los Mouertos Day
of the Dead. At around eight pm in the evening,
I arrived home from a long day at work, and
due to my schedule of working, I had to miss

(04:46):
a family event with my parents and siblings, so I
was home alone with our family dogs. It was too
quiet and too depressing, but I made myself busy because
today I'd almost forgotten that it was Da da los
Moyerto and my grandfather La Frienda was all set up.
Around nine pm, I started cooking dinner for myself and

(05:08):
for my grandfather La Frienda. Then I changed from my
work clothes into my casual wear and I had my
skull mask on. Once everything was settled, I sat down
in the dining room alone. It was again quiet and depressing.
Twenty nineteen was not a good year for me, and
it all started with my grandfather's passing due to cancer.

(05:29):
It was the worst day that ever happened because I
was so close to my grandfather. Plus the event happened
a week before my birthday. He was the one who
would always call me on my birthday because he was
in Mexico at the time, living his life. I miss
him so much that I still wish he was here
because after his passing, more crappy events happened in twenty

(05:50):
nineteen that I was over with to the point that
I was mentally lost. As I was sitting alone in
the dark, I started to cry out in frustration and anger.
I started to talk to my friends and God, asking
him why, as in, why did you take my grandfather
when I needed him? Why did these negative events happen

(06:10):
to me? Why? I was crying and I was frustrated
and angry. But then at around ten thirty, I went
into my living room and I laid down on the
couch to try to calm myself. It was quiet and
yet even more depressing. Then something out of the ordinary happened.
I smelled a burning scent in the house. After I

(06:32):
smelled it, I got up, looked around the house and
checked my friends to make sure that nothing was burning.
Around a minute or two after checking the area of
the burning scent. Nothing was on fire. It was strange,
But then I remembered what my great uncle told me
at my grandfather's memorial back in March. I remembered that
he told me and my family that his brother, my grandfather,

(06:55):
had visited him the day after he passed. He shared
his experience because he smelled a burning scent in his
house and he also went around to see what was burning.
Then he realized that it was his brother saying goodbye.
My great uncle's experience is the same experience that I
just had. My grandfather let me know that he is

(07:16):
still here watching over me and my family, and that
made me feel a little more at peace. I will
never forget that night on November two, twenty nineteen, and
I will never forget how special and powerful the celebration
of Dia de los Muertos can be. Love your family,

(07:37):
love your friends, and appreciate life itself. Well that is
all I have to share. I do have more stories
to tell, but this one is special. Hopefully you and
everyone else have a good day and God bless Sincerely,
mister A. Our next experience comes to us from James,

(08:04):
and James says, Hi, I recently started binge listening to
your podcast during work. I'm glad about how open you
are to listener stories. I'm thirty eight now, but this
story takes place the summer between eighth and ninth grade.
My parents had bought and then started renovation on our
new house. When school started, we were done and we

(08:25):
moved in. Now, before we go too far, I was
quiet and depressed, and I was not too phazed about
anything really, So when we first moved in, everything seemed okay,
different but okay. Then we started seeing mysterious shadows and
hearing footsteps from upstairs even though all the floors upstairs

(08:46):
were carpeted. We even witnessed a tea kettle fly off
the stove. By this point, my mom invited a friend
over who was a quote unquote medium. I say the
word medium in quotes because at that time I did
not believe in any of that kind of stuff. For
the story, let's call her Martha. When she got there

(09:07):
and after catching up, we started talking about our experiences.
When it came to me, I said that I really
hadn't seen or heard much of my own I said
this for my own experimental reasons. So here's my story,
the rooms on the second floor goes as follows. Top
of the stairs to the left is the den. Top

(09:28):
of the stairs straight is my youngest sister's room. To
the right is my other sister, who was a year
younger than I am. Across from her is mine, with
the upstairs bathroom door in between. As for my room,
as soon as you enter, you see my bed sitting
in the corner. For a couple of months before my
mother's friend made a visit, several times I had seen

(09:49):
a light green to white circular light or orb. I'm
not sure which, as there were no distinctive features. It
always started near the floor at the other corner, the
same side of the room. It then moves up and
to the left toward the window. Then it goes out
the window, and it then disappears. In my story to Martha,

(10:10):
I had left out the whole light orb thing. I
also have never told my parents or my sisters either.
So as Martha walked the house, she gave descriptions of
things that were here and there, but nothing too crazy.
Then we got to my room and this is where
I was like, okay, lady, let's see what you got.
And I chuckled to myself. She then proceeded to say

(10:33):
that she felt very uncomfortable in there, and that there's
a true heaviness. She felt sad, angry, and scared, all
at the same time. She then points toward the corner
where I see the light and she says that something
really bad happened over there, Something bad happened in this room.
After a few minutes of talking and me being quite shocked,

(10:55):
she then sat on my bed, saying that she can't
breathe with all the heavy cigar smell. No one was smoking,
nor did anyone smoke cigars. She was taken aback and
said that there was a distinct sweet tobacco scent in
the room. We all looked at each other, though not
knowing what she was talking about. Now skipping to the
summer between my eleventh and twelfth grade year, my bed

(11:18):
was still in the same corner, and my girlfriend at
the time was staying the night, and we were asleep
in my bed. I had eventually gotten up to use
the bathroom. I noticed that my older sister had left
her room light on. This, however, was not uncommon and
I didn't really think too much about it. My room
door was open per the rules. When my girl friend

(11:38):
was over, I then went back to bed and laid
down on my stomach, facing my girl friend, who was
between me and the wall and facing away from me.
I closed my eyes and I drifted off. I awoke
with a strong heaviness on my back and the feeling
that I couldn't breathe that well. I opened my eyes
and I could clearly see a humanoid shadow on the

(11:59):
way that I was facing. The thing that was weird
about the shadow, though, was that it was a bit hazy.
The shadow wasn't clear cut, but I could see that
there was someone or something behind me. Typically when a
shadow appears, when it's just someone in the family, the
shadow is quite a bit more clear and crisp visually.
The amount of weight on my back was immense. Then

(12:23):
the shadow looked like it was bending down and I
heard something like someone exhaling right in my ear, and
I then experienced the suffocating smell of cigar smoke. All
the while I could not move an inch and I
could barely breathe. It went on like this for several minutes,
five to ten minutes if I had to gas. I
then heard the bathroom door close, and then it was gone.

(12:46):
I turned over, nearly gasping for air and coughing. I
sat there in absolute fear, and I debated if I
should tell anyone, as I knew, being a prankster, that
I would not be believed. I never had that experience ever again,
but I now definitely believed. Cut to many years later,
and I was in my early twenties, and at this

(13:07):
point I worked at Low's, but I had to ride
my bike there, which was about a mile and a
half away. One day, I was posted in the garden
center as a loader. An older woman about sixty or
seventy years old came up to me needing help loading mulch.
As we're going to her car, she asked me, you
look familiar. Do you live somewhere on Cedar Hall Road.

(13:29):
I said yes, I actually do. She then asked me
where I lived, and I told her, and she goes, oh, okay,
I know that house. Creepy house. I was curious and
not even thinking about my own experience in the house,
so I asked creepy how so? She then said that
when her mother was a young girl between ten and

(13:50):
twelve years old, she heard about a man who had
murdered his seven year old daughter and his twelve year
old son had witnessed him doing yet it was all
in the same room. She remembers this story because her
mother was traumatized by it because she had played with
those kids quite often. I was completely shocked. I tried

(14:11):
doing actual research on our house, but I found nothing,
and I asked about it in the records department at
our city hall. With as small as our town is now,
it was incredibly small during the early nineteen hundreds when
the house was built, so it was not uncommon for
events or important information to go undocumented. Still to this day,

(14:31):
it is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.
I do have a few other shorter stories, but I
will send those in later. Thank you for the chance
to talk about my experience and keep up the good work, James.

comes to us from Lena and Lina's experience is called
Cursed with Spirits. Lina says, Heinik. All of my life,

(15:42):
I have had connections with spirits. Here are a few
of my stories. When I was seven years old, I
was sleeping and I had a dream about my grandfather
that had passed away before I was born. He was
mean to my mom and her siblings. He just wasn't
a good guy at all. I dreamt that he came
to me and handed me a silver watch, and he

(16:02):
told me to wake my mom up and tell her
that he was sorry. I woke up, and then I
woke her up to pass the message on. She asked
me what he looked like, and I described him, and
she then took a picture out of her drawer and
she showed me it was him. I had never seen
a picture before. She then told me that when she
was little, she gave him a silver watch with her

(16:24):
siblings for his birthday, and he broke it. When I
was eight years old, my nana passed away, and the
night of her funeral, I was crying in bed and
I set out loud that I just wanted to give
her one more hug. And then next to me, she
appeared in a white, flowing dress and smiling down at me. However,

(16:45):
I got scared and I said not now, not now,
and she went away. I never saw her again, but
I know that she was saying goodbye. About a year later,
my little sister and I were waiting for our school
boss and we were talking with this little boy that
we had never met at the stop next to us.
He was dressed like a nineteen fifties paper boy in

(17:07):
suspenders and a hat. He was sitting leaning against a
light pole and reading a book about black cats, and
that's what we were talking about with them. He was nice,
and then we heard our bus coming. We looked to
the left and we saw our boss, and we then
looked back to talk to the boy again, and he
was gone. Another night, around the same time, we lost

(17:30):
power in our house and I was told to go
outside and flip the breaker. It was dark, so I
wasn't excited, but I did it. Anyway, I went out
to the box on the pole and I opened it.
But when I opened it, I heard something moving behind
the pole. I have no idea what I was thinking,
but I reached back there into the dark and I

(17:50):
felt a dress. It felt like a silk dress with
a lace over it. Then someone giggled, and I've never
run inside so fast my life. My dad had to
go turn the lights on. After these experiences, I didn't
experience anything paranormal until my late teens, and this one

(18:10):
is the worst of it. We had just moved into
this house and I had a basement bedroom. I was
in and out of sleep one night, and one time
I woke up to a soldier standing at the end
of my bed, just staring at me. I closed my
eyes and he was gone. So I tried going back
to sleep, and I turned on my side. Once I turned,

(18:31):
I saw a young woman in a white nightgown. She
told me to stand up and pointed to right in
front of her. I ignored her, hoping that she would
go away like the soldier did, but she didn't. She
told me to stand right here, or you won't go
to sleep until the sun comes up again. I ignored her.
And tried to make her go away. I kept my

(18:52):
eyes shut, not looking at her, and I didn't sleep
until the sun came up. I then ran upstairs crying
to my mom, and I told what I had seen.
Our next experience of the night comes to us from
Liz and Liz's encounter is called ten Spirits and Counting

(19:15):
the haunting of our new home. Liz says, according to
my friends, I may be paranormally sensitive, and I could
even be a portal for spiritual activity. Over the years,
I've had numerous experiences in every home I've lived in,
and others have witnessed strange occurrences as well. This story

(19:35):
is about an ongoing experience in my current home, which
I purchased in April of twenty twenty four. We officially
moved in during June twenty twenty four in Everett, Washington.
In September of twenty twenty four, we decided to conduct
a paranormal investigation on a Saturday night to try to
understand the strange activity that we'd been experiencing. During the investigation,

(19:58):
we discovered that there are at least least ten spirits
in the house. Before we even began setting up the
two paranormal investigators asked, who's walking upstairs. I assured them
that no one was upstairs, as we were all downstairs,
and this immediately piqued their interest. For the next three hours,
the activity was non stop. The EMF detectors were constantly beeping,

(20:21):
and we heard numerous words coming through the spirit box,
some of which were in German. One spirit even asked
for a beer, and the catbells went off repeatedly, indicating movement.
At one point, when we asked for the spirits to
make themselves known, the window air conditioner in my son's room,
which was the middle room, turned on all by itself.

(20:43):
I turned it off, but it then turned back on
after we asked the main spirit if he was the
one activating it. Another intriguing moment came when we asked
the spirits to move a crayon. One spirit responded by
saying too hard when asked to move it. When we
inquired about Charles, the first owner of the house, the

(21:03):
spirit box repeatedly said bad man. Words like shot and
murder also came through clearly. After the investigation, I decided
to do some research on the property's history. I discovered
that Charles the original owner had died from a cerebral hemorrhage.
He had a son who served in World War One,

(21:24):
but tragically, that sun died in the nineteen thirties in
a car accident after a drinking bench. The next owners
lived in the house from nineteen forty two to two
thousand three. I reached out to their grandchildren and eventually
met the grandson, who provided me with more details about
three relatives whose names matched those that we'd picked up
on the spirit box. These relatives had passed away in

(21:47):
the house due to natural causes. Since the investigation, the
activity in the house has escalated. We've seen a shadow
figure that seems to peek around corners. Everyone who goes
up the stairs reports feeling as if something is going
to push them down. My six year old daughter, in particular,
has become attached to one spirit whom she calls Jerry,

(22:10):
a name that also came through the spirit box. After
I told her to stop playing with him, she hasn't
interacted with him as much. Other strange occurrences have continued,
like hearing footsteps upstairs when no one is up there.
And we've all agreed that we're fine living with the
spirits as long as no negativity occurs. It's been a

(22:32):
wild ride living in this house, and the spirits seem
to be more active than ever Before I bring tonight's
episode to an end, I'd like to thank all of
our experiencers for coming forward with their stories, and as always,
I truly appreciate each and every one of you for
listening and showing your support. With that being said, I

(22:55):
hope you have a wonderful rest of your evening and
I'll be back in just a few short days with
more tales of the unexplained right here on Paranormal Mysteries.
