Bill the Pet Health Guru.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
And welcome to the Pet Health Cafe to show where
your pet has a voice. This is Bill the Pet
Health Guru, and it's another Thursday night and we're back
here with you again. I don't give up very easily,
as you can tell. I'm bound and determined to get
this message out. And I'm hoping and praying that my
people that are watching, my clients and my followers that
(01:04):
you will share this with everybody that you can, you know,
hit that little share button there on YouTube or Facebook
or wherever you happen to be. Let's getting many people
in here, and of course like it. You can wait
till the end of the show they like it or not.
I mean, that's up to you. But we really want
to hit that like button because it does help those
(01:24):
algorithms moving us up in the search engines and subscribe
so you never forget. I was just on a call
with a client and it's like, I don't mark you
on my calendar. I'm going to tune in now, so
I hope she's on there and listening. And I'm so welcome.
Welcome to all of you that are watching tonight. As always,
(01:45):
the chat room will be open for questions. We have
a great topic, I think a timely topic tonight, and
that it was very, very instrumentally keeping our past healthy
and if you, if any of you looked at the
promos for it, we're looking at the summer challenge now.
(02:06):
Down here in Florida, we didn't have a spring. It
just jumped from our normal winter weather, which isn't really cold,
but right into the ninety degree ninety five degree heat
and it is taxing the AC units all over the place.
Our poor store. You know, when they designed buildings down
(02:29):
here in Florida, it was designed low cost initially. So
all these commercial centers like we're located in all have
flat roofs which have just absorbed all the heat. You
only have a short, a small space between the roof
and our ceiling, so there's very little insulation to keep
that heat out. And of course our air conditioning units
(02:49):
are on the roof, and when my AC guy was
up there the other day, it was ninety eight degrees
air temperature on that roof. And the air conditioners are
not happy with this weather. They're working overtime, and so
this does create problems not only for us, but for
(03:10):
our pets as well. These hot temperatures. Now up north,
you're just getting into it. I know, Memorial Day weekend
did just pass. That's usually the kickoff to the summer fun,
you know, the whole warmer season. Kids are out of school.
So now let's get ourselves into vacation mode, if you will,
in summer mode. So how do we prepare our pets
(03:33):
for that? What do we need to look out for?
And some tips I want to give upfront and for
instance down here in Florida, but of course it's going
to get that way up north. At the same time,
when you're out walking your dogs, we suggest you welcome
early morning, later on in the afternoon or evening, because
that concrete, those sidewalks and those streets gets scalding hot.
(03:55):
And while our dogs have got a much heavier dermal
layer on their eat. Obviously, they walk over thorns and
bush you know, bristles and all kinds of other debris
and everything very easily every day. It's very very tough,
but they can feel that heat. It doesn't necessarily burn
them most of the time. Occasionally we will see a
(04:16):
burn foot, but most of the time it doesn't unhealthy animal.
So we want to make sure that we you know,
welcome in the morning, welcome at night when we don't
have a lot of you know, hot surfaces for them.
I know a lot of you do not walk your
dogs on lawns and even in common areas very much
(04:36):
because of course, summer months is also the month, you know,
the time for insects, things like fleas and ticks, and
of course all the lawn insects, the weavils and ants
and everything else, and so the the property owners of
course spend a lot of time and a lot of
money trying to control these s tritters, and that means
(04:58):
a lot more pesticides on the lawns, and of course
down here in Florida we have summertime, of course is
also our rainy season, which means those lawns end up
with a lot more fungus, mold, and mildew on the
ground and in the vegetation, and of course again they
are spraying and treating these lawns for those funguses and
(05:21):
mildews and moles, and again our dogs are picking those
up on their paws, a lot of them. They absorb
directly through the paths and directly through the skin on
the paws. They come in and what do they do.
They clean themselves. They're cleaning that all off, So they're
ingesting that poison. And of course, in summertime, weeds have
(05:42):
a tendency to take over and dominate a lot of lawns.
So again there's a lot of fertilization being done, a
lot of weed killer being used. There's a lot of
toxicity going into that poor animal's body. So we want
to start, of course, on a great program that's going
to help the body tremendously hopefully in removing these toxins.
(06:06):
And the very first thing that we use, of course,
we want to keep them hydrated. Now, those of you
that are out there that feed dry food dry, he
will leave it down all day long. Your dog is
already dehydrated, your cat is dehydrated. Even if you're in
a house, but that is an issue that you have
to be concerned about. Now. Biocomplete and my paleopad, we
(06:28):
do recommend ionized water living water if you will. We
do sell it of course in the store and online.
We also sell the unit so you can put them
in house if you want. We basically what you're looking
for in store would be something like our biocomplete and
I don't know if you can see it there it
(06:49):
goes okay. The biocomplete alkaline water. We also do a
neutral water as well, and the cilic water is different
waters for different hydration levels. Needs that sort of thing.
Is you going to remember that all these chemicals are
backing up and that liver net kidney, especially the kidney,
so we need to flush it out. And so we're
going to see increased drinking with our pets because of this,
(07:12):
because they're also trying to cool down their bodies. They pant,
you know, and when they're panting, they don't sweat like
we do, although they do push toxins out through the skin,
and that's why we sometimes in the summertime we will
see hot spots and stuff like that because of all
these toxins. But when they're panting. If you ever notice
their mouth is dripping, that's how they cool their body
(07:33):
is by pulling in more air. So obviously, if you know,
you can keep your temperatures moderated in any house. It
doesn't have to be super cold. But where your dog is,
you know, whether inside or out, we want to make
sure that they have a comfortable place outside. Dogs should
have plenty of shade. Actually, structures and things of that nature.
(07:56):
Which will you know if you design it so that
you've got a good breeze path. If you will, they're
not in like a corner of a building or something
like that where no wind will ever come through, we're
better off. So it wants a shade, shaded area so
that they can stay cool if it's shaded all day long,
or at least the majority of it. If they want
(08:18):
to go out in the sun, a little bit of
sun is good for them as well, just like it
is for us. So we need to worry about heat,
We need to worry about temperature, We need to worry
about sunlight. So let's be diligent what we do with
that part of it. They say, we do do the
Canygan system for ionized water. You can contact the store
(08:40):
at my paleopet and they will be happy to answer
any questions on the water and how you can use
it for us as well. Basically, the principle behind it,
we're splitting that water molecule into smaller molecules and in
doing so, it's actually absorbed at a cellular level, which
(09:00):
decreases the dehydration by about seventy five percent. So it's
extremely important to have a good quality, clean source of water,
not dead water that comes out of it. Now, the
second part of that water is and I know many
of you out there probably are using some of these
technologies that are commonly available, things like reverse osmosis, and
(09:24):
you know, some of the other types of smaller filters
that are out there on the market. There's a major
issue with them in the fact that they remove all
the minerals and some of the toxin. A lot of
them do not do anything for the fluorides. Most of
them do take out chlorine, but a lot of them
don't take out fluorides, and a lot of them do
(09:46):
not take out a lot of the synthetic drugs that
are in a municipal water supply. And you know, I
want to stress that a lot, because you know, we
don't want our dogs are already expl those to enough
chemicals in the environment when you're walking them. We know
they're exposed to a lot of toxins every time you
(10:06):
walk into that animal hospital, between the disinfectants and cleaners
that they use in the front room and in the
exam rooms, and then once we get into the drugs
and the preventatives. And when I talk about preventatives, I'm
talking about flea and tick and heartworm, and distemper and
parbol let, those sporosis rabies. These are all preventive measures
(10:28):
that add toxicity to that body. So now we've taken
out the minerals out of our water, so the body
is deplete. And minerals, of course are involved in producing
hormones and enzymes and all of that. So we're fighting
a double battle here. And yes, a lot of the
filtration companies will sell you a insert type of mineral
(10:49):
supplement that you can add to the water. Problem is, again,
most of these are synthetic. They're not usable by the body.
When we look at minerals, we want you get as
many minerals and as many vitamins as we can from
whole food products, and they're fed in their natural state
or the most natural state. And of course when I
look at dogs and cats, that's where we usually start
(11:11):
looking at raw diets, seventy percent moisture content, all the
vitamins and minerals that the animal should need, as long
as those foods are ethically and clean rays. And when
I say clean raise, I'm talking about being raised on
a species appropriate diet for that food animal. You know,
when you see you go into supermarket and you're looking
(11:35):
at your chicken, and you're looking at egg products especially,
and you'll quite often see vegan fed. Well, they're omnivores.
In fact, they're closer to a carnivore than they are
to a herbivore. They need animal proteins and fats in
their diet. They eat a ton of bugs when they
eat a ton of bugs. On these pastured eggs, the
(11:58):
omega threes and nines and those egg yolks that make
them nice and yellow are exceptional. They're usable to the body.
You know, I remember the kid. Basically almost all eggs
at that point in time were raised, of course, primarily
on pasture up obviously in New York State, where I
(12:19):
grew up. Supplemental grains were fat. Supplemental grains were fed
haze and things of that nature. But my sisters and
my mom would actually use raw eggs to help condition
their hair. That protein, those fats would be absorbed into
those into the hair follicles, and of course they would
(12:40):
rehydrate the hair itself. And you know, when you look
back at pictures from the you know, the nineteen fifties,
the nineteen sixties, I mean, first off, everybody was a
lot thinner. We noticed that right away in the thing.
But all the girls, especially all had long hair, didn't
have to worry about the ends breaking and all that
(13:01):
brittle is and everything else because they were ingesting the
good foods and they were also using it therapeutically, if
you will, in conditioning their hair. So you know, the
type of eggs is all the difference in the world.
That's an excellent food for dogs and cats. You just
crack them open, shelling all in fact, because the egg
shell membrane is a great cancer fighting substance, nutritional substance.
(13:28):
So we want to keep away with the cancers, obviously,
we want to stay away from you know, over bathing.
That's another thing that sometimes happens in the summertime with
our dogs is we have a tendency because they're outside,
they're playing in a dirt, everything else, we overbathe them.
You're better off just posing them down. If you can
use again ionized water or good clean water, you're better
off doing that. Do not use harsh shampoos that strips
(13:52):
off the natural oils which are the protection for the skin.
Do not use cream rinses or others products, including sun
tanned lotions, because those plot the pores that actually help
the body eliminate toxic So we want to be very
very careful with our animals in the summertime that we're
(14:14):
not adding to the toxic load, but we're allowing the
body to get rid of it all. And that's you know,
between the hydration and you know, making sure that we
have the right minerals are going to be an important part.
And that's the second part that we want to talk
about tonight, is making sure that your animals got the
(14:36):
right minerals in their diet. Again, those of you that
if feed a commercial food, whether it's a dry kibble,
a canned food, especially, but even the so called raw
freeze ride, which is not raw by the way it's
a processed food. It's it's very very deceptive in the
way they market that. But also and even some of
(14:57):
the commercial raw diets, because they pasteurize them, this quite
often destroys and changes the mineral content and mineral absorbability
of those diets. The most common recall on pet foods
is normally for things that are of pathogenic problems, things
(15:21):
like solomon ella, the steria equal line. Now, while those
can be problematic, especially if you're feeding your dog outside
in the heart heat, that stuff will break down and
change forms, and of course the fatty acids change form
in the heat and the sunlight. But the minerals, because
(15:41):
they are oxidizing, that causes them not to be a
is usable. Now. One of the things that we've discovered
over the last probably decade, and I've had them on
my show several times with mortally Robins, We've talked a
lot about copper. We've talked a lot about iron and
magnesium being important parts of that issue. That basically the
(16:03):
iron ekels into our body in all these fortified foods,
all fortified food by the way, they're normally fortifying with
iron and they do that in a form of iron oxide,
which is rust. Yeah, those capsules are filled with rust
when you buy those iron capsule, which is why I
stay away from all supplements to start with. But so
that oxidation and that iron eke goes into that body
(16:26):
is not being used in the things like the hemoglobe
and the carry oxygen. It's literally being bound in the
muscle and flex and then blocks the absorption of copper.
Our body is electric. Their body is electric. Our cats
and dogs are electric. They transmit all their energy that way.
Copper is an excellent conductor of that. So we want
(16:47):
to make sure that we're diminishing the overload of the iron,
getting rid of that toxicity, quit rusting the body on
the inside, and making that copper available for conductivity so
our body has the energy to heal. We're going to
be right back after a quick break.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
And welcome back to the Pet Health Cafe, the show
where your pet has a voice. This is Bill, the
Pet Health Guru with you you once again, and we're
back from the break, and again I want to remind
you that the chat is open. You know, if you
let me know you're out there, that's always highly appreciated.
The other thing is that we want you to share
(19:46):
this with as many people as possible like it, and
of course subscribe so you don't miss anything. And we're
talking about the challenges of summer now because our pets,
you know, have to deal with you know, the heat
and sometimes excessive heat down here in Florida, but up north.
You know, there's a lot of different things we can
do as far as their food and treats and things
(20:09):
of that nature that can help them out. I know
a lot of people will take and add ice cubes
to their water, not exactly the best thing to do,
especially if you're using tap water for the ice cubes,
because again, we want that living water. We want to
look at getting ionized water or at least good spring
water into their body. But some of the other things
that are really really good is, you know, Biocomplete makes
(20:35):
a line of nutritional smoothies for pets, and of course
we do a lot of raw dairy and one of
the things that a lot of our customers have come
back and told us that work really really well is
taking any of those raw dairy products and smoothie products
that have a lot that you can actually add in
different herbs and botanicals to for cleansing and for detox
(20:55):
and for any kind of different you know, health share
challenges your animal might have. So it's a good way,
a good mechanical way of administering these things is to
take those raw dairy products with whatever herbs or botanicals
you want, to put them in ice cube trays and
(21:15):
now you've got a treat cycle for your pet and
just drop them right on top of their food. Let
them slowly melt. A lot of dogs love to have
that stuff, you know, kind of an outdoor treat where
you can put it on a stick, you know, and
we really really, you know, it's a great way to
do it. The other item that you can do that
(21:37):
with is bone broth. Yes, you can make bone bros sickles.
Why not again, high mineral content. Again, you can mix
in all kinds of different herbal botanicals and other items
with them to make it healthier if you will. Not
that it's not healthy in the beginning, but it is
actually very healthy treat. And of course it cools down
(21:59):
their body because it's cold. They like licking that obviously,
so it kind of serves a dual purpose. And you know,
we want to stay away from conventional ice cream because
of all the chemicals and the sugars and stuff like that.
So when you're looking at basically the raw dairy, whether
it's goat or sheep or cow melt, keefers, yogurts, that's
(22:24):
basically the equivalent to our ice cream treats. So it's
a good thing to happen. Of course, depending on the
herbs that you put into it too. You can make
it a little bit more fun of course, if the
kids are being involved in that sort of thing. You know,
the spurlina is going to make the the dairy look
a lot bluer in color, and Colorrella is going to
make it look green in color. And you know, you
(22:47):
can do things like cranberry, which is going to give
you a nice red color as well. So there's a
lot of different things. Tumork's going to give you a
nice orange so and you could actually, if you to
be creative, you could take in like stir it in
slowly so you get swirls and little circles and stuff
(23:07):
like that make it fun. And that's bills basically, you know,
my recipe of the week, I guess you would say.
But yeah, it's a fun thing to do. It's a
good way to and you know, interact with your animal too,
because you know, you're usually you know, all you gotta
do is take a popsicle stick type thing and put
it in an ice shue pray when you put the
(23:27):
liquid into the tray and it's good to go. And
actually you could actually buy you know, popsicle type molds
to do the same thing. You just have to realize
the size of the dog and how much they will
actually consume at anyone given point in time, so you're
(23:48):
not wasting a lot of stuff. So you know, those
are some of the things. And of course I started
to talk about the minerals, and we need to keep
these mineral levels fairly substantial during the summer months so
that they can beat the heat, if you will, but
also they maintain a healthy body. And you know, some
(24:10):
of the things again in these bone broth treats and
in their diet and in the smoothies and that sort
of thing. High mineral botanicals are important things like kelp
which will give you a green color in net, airy
nori which will give you more of a reddish color
in it, which are sea vegetables, Irish moss, club moss,
(24:33):
and devil's claw. There's a whole plusor of these different
sea vegetables that you can just add in with these,
with these treats, and in with the meals that are
gonna be very high and usable minerals. Him Malayan sea
salt is another one that I like to see use
at least, you know, on a regular basis, because again,
(24:54):
just like us, we have to worry about dehydration with
them in the hot months. Now, one of the other things,
and this is on the grooming side, which those of
you that have listened to me over the decades that
have literally been on the podcast and on the circuit
basically with public speaking and seminars and within especially within
the industry itself, that your dog's coat is a layer
(25:19):
of insulation. It's one of the things that keeps them
warm in the winter but also helps cool in the summer.
So many people make the mistake of thinking that they
have to shave their dogs in the summer months because
they're more comfortable. Well, the comfort if the coat is
kept in good shape, and what I mean by that,
(25:40):
they're being regularly groomed, rushed, comed out, no mats, you know,
and fairly clean. That longer coat will insulate them against
the hot weather when we shave them. When we cut
them very very short in the summertime, this exposes that
skin to a lot more damage from the sun itself.
(26:02):
They don't suffer normally from a regular sunburn like we do.
And even our sunburn is just a body reacting with
the outer dermal layer of skin. And if we have
a good diet, and if they have a good diet
and they're producing a lot of good dermal cells, a
lot of good collagen in there, their body is protected.
Now obviously we do not want them to go to
(26:24):
extremes in the sunlight. You know, your dog's out in
the sun for six eight hours, it will be rather toasty,
but chances are they'll be dehydrated way before they you know,
have a problem. I mean, they can cut suffer from
heat stroke like we can. Again, hydration is important for that,
keeping your dog hydrated. Again, an ionized water much readily absorbed.
(26:48):
It's actually being absorbed as soon as you put them
in the mouth. It's actually being absorbed through the mucous
membrane inside the mouth, so it's getting in there immediately.
It doesn't have to be broken down and transported. That
was the original theory behind things like all these dehydration
drinks that have been out there for sports athletes and
(27:10):
things like that, that we're going to put in electrolytes. Well,
what are electrolytes but minerals? Gee, I just gone full circle,
haven't I? Hydration with minerals, mineralized water, mineralized bone broths,
mineralized fairy products all animal based, with the exception of
water obviously, but all the other products that are animal
(27:31):
based would fit perfectly into that carnivore diet. We're not
breaking out of that. We're feeding them species appropriateness. And
of course then if you're doing a raw diet on
top of that, you know the hydration level is going
to be excellent. When I say bone broth, I got
a question of there, did you say freeze bone broths? Perhaps? Yes?
(27:53):
What about other broths, beef and chicken? They're all bone broths,
especially if you're making it yourself. I can't attest that
what you buy in the store is really bone bros.
Because I know that a lot of bone broth when
you look at the ingredient label, and I'm to give
you a little bit of a lesson on labeling laws.
If it says bone bros in the ingredient label, that
(28:14):
company bought somebody else's bone broth, which could have a
pleuth row of other ingredients in it that could be
harmful to your past. It could be synthetic flavors, it
could be different vegetables and plant material. You know, a
lot of people are concerned about things like garlic and onions,
(28:36):
and those are seasonings that are commonly used in commercial
bone broths. So if you're worried about that, and I
generally don't because normally if I do everything myself anyway,
so a little bit that they would get is not
going to be a problem. But we don't know if
it's loaded with MSG. We don't know what the sources
of that stuff is either you know where those but
who was that bone broth made with, you know, old
(29:01):
dairy cattle with hormones and ambiotics and steroids, or was
it from grass fed grass finish, you know, beef? You
know at Biocomplete, we do make our own. It's available
at my paleio pad obviously on the website, and we
do ship it nationwide. But yes, I prefer our own.
I saw another thing up there that basically stay away
(29:24):
from the store. Bought bros for both people, and that's
absolutely It's not difficult to make. In fact, I will
give you the recipe. We're gonna another set of recipes
for me tonight. God, this is becoming a cooking show.
But all it takes to make bone bros. It's good
clean bones. It doesn't matter whether you're using beef, chicken, pork, turkey.
(29:44):
You can use fish bones turkey. I may have mentioned
that we do, and any number of animal basically carcass bones.
To that. We add organic apple cider vinegar. Make sure
it's a good, clean source. Remember that some of the
(30:05):
national brands have been brought out and been changed over
recent months and years, So find your best source for
your apple cider vinegar or make your own. Actually, but
then I also use our mineralized ionized water to do it,
and the process is very simple. You can do it
in a crock pot, and you can do it on
a big pot in your pan and a pan on
your stove. Basically, bring it to, put all those ingredients in,
(30:30):
bring it to a boil, cut it back, and let
it simmer for preferably twenty four hours thirty six hours.
We do about twenty four to thirty hours in our facility.
When it comes out, it's going to be very to latinous,
very thick. If you're using it for your own good,
you can obviously have it that way, or you can
(30:52):
turn around and have it dilute it down for soup.
I just missed my break, so we're gonna be right
back after this quick one.
Speaker 3 (31:08):

Speaker 2 (32:32):
All right, and we're back here in a pet health
cafe to show where your pet as a voice. This
is build a Pet Health Guru, and we're talking about
the challenges of summer. And I've given you a couple
of recipes, a couple of things that you know that
you can do to help your pet. I appreciate questions
(32:55):
that are coming in because that's how we all learn.
And when you share, you're not only sharing with me
and getting answers to your question, but you're sharing it
with the whole community. Now, a couple other things about
diet in the summertime. Basically, you're gonna your dogs may
fit into two categories. One, they may kind of go
(33:17):
off food, eat a lot less because of the heat.
You know, their body isn't having to produce body heat,
if you will, to maintain its itself. We don't even
think about that in the winter time, especially those of
you that are listening up north, that your body you
eat more quite often in the winter time because your
body has to generate heat, that energy which also turns
(33:40):
into light infra red light. But we have to eat
more to build the burn to get the energy we
need to sustain ourselves. So sometimes in the summer months
they will go off and be fasting a lot more.
They won't be as aggressive, especially in the morning hours.
A lot of dogs will start skipping breakfast because wolves
traditionally would eat in the afternoon. They'll hunts as the
(34:04):
temperature is cooling down closer to the sunset. And but
then again you have some dogs, it will become more ravenous,
especially those up north, because you're now interacting with them
a lot more. There's probably a lot more playing. You know,
you're taking them out on longer walks, you're throwing the ball,
the frisbee. You know, they're in they're in the pool,
(34:28):
they're you know down here in South Florida, they're in
the ocean. I mean, they just love the water and
all these things are good exercise for them and that
sort of things. So their appetite is going to be
bouncing around a lot more. And with this, with this,
in order to provide the proper and the amounts of
energy they need, they do need that species appropriate diet,
(34:48):
which is that carnivore diet, that raw meat, that lightly
cooked meat, still you know, if you lightly cook it,
make sure that the inside is still rare, so they
are getting those live enzymes. That's the important part of
eating raw food. You need enzymes. Now, a couple of
other things that I generally tell people that we recommend
(35:11):
both in my consultations in the store as well on
our chats and any of you that follow us on
any of the social media groups and chats and that
sort of thing. If you ever had a questions, you know,
just go ahead and ask them. But I also recommend,
because of the higher instance of long chemicals and things
(35:33):
of that nature, that you're these giving foods that are
going to help detoxify the liver, especially the kidney and
the lymphatic system, the filters, if you will, so that
we get rid of all these toxins. Again, Biocomplete has
a complete line of items that work with that available
through my paleo pat and of course online or in
(35:56):
the store, and also available through different retailers nationwide. But
it's always a good idea to have them. Pain and inflammation.
Our herbal blend for pain and inflammation is also something
because if your dog is going to be more active,
guess what they run a risk of pulling a muscle,
you know, running and you know doing a fast cut
(36:18):
and pulling something, straining something, twisting something, and you might
see a little bit of pain and that sort of thing.
In most of these cases, these are not veterinary required visits.
There's no need to sometimes pay for an emergency visit
to a veterinarian. Normally, these things will correct themselves or
(36:38):
self correcting the body self healing. You will see a
difference in twenty four to forty eight seventy two hours.
If it extends more than that, or if it's obvious
that there's a break, yes, then you would seek more
emergency care. But again, different things like that, vomiting diarrhea
because of the temperature changes. These are all noise, normal things.
(37:00):
Because of those lawn chemicals that they're that they're faced with,
you're gonna get more cleansing. I know, I'm down here
in Florida. I get calls all the time when especially
people when they first come down, they're down on the beach,
their dog goes out, loves the salt water, playing in it.
Of Course the dog needs the minerals, so they're drinking saltwater,
(37:21):
and of course immediately you know when I say immediately,
within the next hour or two, they're gonna be vomiting
up salt water. They've pulled minerals out of it that
their body needed, and their body those minerals and water
is also cleansing their body. It's not something to panic about.
On the other end of it, you're gonna get some
diarrheas and loose stools as it's cleaning out. These are
(37:43):
healthy things. I mean, one of the one of the therapeutic
things that we recommend here in South Florida is to
take your dog to the beach let them run in
the ocean. And of course the other thing is is
just like us, when you're walking on the sand, you're
getting good exercise. You're you're moving muscles and exercising muscles
that we haven't used in you know, especially if you're
(38:06):
up north, you haven't used them in months. And that's
important to build that and because you know, one of
the things that we don't realize is the lymphatic system,
which is a small filters and also moves different hormones
and enzymes around and gets rid of different toxins. That is,
there's no pump on it like there is on our
circulatory system where the heart is pushing it through. Lymphatic
(38:29):
system has to work on movement. The movement of the
body is what moves that lymphatic fluid around and that
has to be transferred from body part to body part
to buy a bit part. So when we use when
we're on the sand and on the beach and things
like that, or even running them in the yard and
in the field and out in the farm, they are
(38:51):
getting so much more than they will get as a
couch potato in the apartment. Keeping them cool. But again
you have to watch and monitor. Take a water bottle
along with you with that ionized water so so important.
It doesn't have to be ice cold to cool them down.
You know, you can also keep and you know, if
you're going to be doing a lot of stuff in
the sun, keep a towel with you. They can be
(39:13):
soaked in water. This can cool down the body very
quickly as well. You can do it for yourself. You know,
when we're hot, and you know in the summertime we
jump in the pool, that water is going to be
cooler obviously than the air temperature in many many cases.
So these are all little hints and challenges that we
have to deal with during the summer months. You know,
(39:35):
we want to keep our animals healthy. You know. One
of the other things I do want to warn against, though,
of course, summer is also the travel months. You know
you might want to have. You know, when you're traveling,
make sure you've got the proper gear, collars, leashes, things
of that nature, carrying cases. Make sure you've got identification
ID tags are ideal, you know, to in case they
(39:58):
do happen to escape. You have to watch what you're
being recommended with vaccinations if you're traveling and boarding and
things like that. We don't want to over you know,
we don't want to overdo it. You know, everybody's got
to make their own decisions on the health of their
own animal. But you know, your dog isn't necessarily going
to be exposed to nine thousand diseases. And of course
(40:20):
cats don't have the same problem because they're not outside
for the most part and traveling with us. But the
dogs so. And the thing is is, even if you
immunize your dog for travel, you're not going to see
symptoms or reactions sometimes for a week or two. And
when you're in the middle of that vacation. So again,
plan ahead on your scheduling. You know, keep your dog,
(40:40):
your dog's own first aid kit, you know, diarrhea, slipper realm.
Like you say, the pain and inflammation is a good
thing to have. And uh, you know, let's enjoy the
summer with our pets. Then you have ionized water number
one and a good diet will keep your dog healthy
(41:00):
and you won't have to worry about the problems during
the summer months. With that, I hope that everybody has
a great vacation season that you enjoy and can share
it with your pets. And if you have any questions
or that sort of thing, of course I'm available for consultations.
You can always go on a website of my paleopet

have a great summer a bike.
