Speaker 1 (00:00):
In nineteen eighty five, there was a property in Palm Beach,
Florida called Mara Lago. This was one hundred and twenty
six rom mansion that nobody wanted. Then Donald Trump bought
it up for just seven million dollars and transformed it
into a forty million dollars a year cash flow. Let's
talk about it. Built in the nineteen twenties by Syrial

(00:28):
heiress Marjorie Meriweather Post, it was designated as a National
Historic Landmark. The name means sea to lake in Spanish,
reflecting its unique location. Now here's where it gets interesting.
When Merriweather Posts died, she willed the estate to the
US government, but they returned it to her foundation. The

(00:48):
maintenance costs were too high. For years, the property sat empty.
No one wanted to take on the financial burden until
mister Trumpo came along in nineteen eighty five. Trump saw
it an opportunity that others missed, but his initial bid
for mar A Lago was denied, so he strategically bought

(01:09):
up land between mar A Lago and the ocean for
two million dollars, causing competing interest to decline. What was
the result. He nabbed the one hundred and twenty six
rum mansion for just seven million dollars. Pretty good, but
he soon realized why others stayed away. The property was

(01:29):
hemorrhaging money due to its historical significance. There were preservation requirements,
high end amenities to maintain, extensive renovations needed, and massive
operational costs. For years, it seemed like a massive mistake.
Then Trump had an idea that would change everything. Instead
of keeping it as a private residence, he'd turned it

(01:50):
into an exclusive private club, but not just any club.
He'd make it the most prestigious club in Palm Beach.
The transformation began in nineteen ninety four, almost a decade
after acquisition. Five clay tennis courts, a Trump spa and salon,
luxury guest suites, beach club access, waterfront pool. But the

(02:12):
real genius was in the membership structure. Trump created artificial scarcity.
He capped membership at five hundred people with an initiation
fee of twenty five thousand dollars, which was a lot
of money back in the mid nineties, The wealthy elite
of Palm beachs were practically begging to join. By twenty fourteen,

(02:34):
it was generating fifteen point six million dollars annually. The
property that was once bleeding money became a cash cow,
and today it makes over forty million dollars a year
without even breaking a sweat. Trump wasn't just selling access,
he was selling status. Trump took a product and turned
it into a story that people wanted to be a

(02:56):
part of. And that's what we're talking about here, and
we here at the Full Stack Business Builder Conference and
network have spent the past year of twenty twenty four
developing a way for founders and entrepreneurs to do the
same thing. You see. People today don't buy from companies,
they buy from people. They buy from stories. So what

(03:19):
are three basic takeaways from Trump's pivot to profitability. Number one,
create unparalleled value in one central place. Number two, build
a place for people to connect with successful business builders.
And number three, ensure the world knows about this amazing
product to create demand. I think you can see the

(03:41):
similarities in how the Full Stack Business Builder Conference and
community are similar. We have a conference every ninety days
value in one place. We have a community to get
real help where you can rub shoulders with experts, and
number three, you can communicate your value by joining the
community at FSBB do io, and we will communicate and

(04:02):
market you your business expertise through our media megaphones. And
so just last week we had the FSBB mar a
Lago moment. On September twenty second, twenty twenty four, Molly Truant,
Taylor Carroll, and I and I myself got together to
finalize our year's worth of planning and finally execute on

(04:24):
our grand idea the name the full Stack Business Builder
Network conference and community. We wanted to create what ted
X should have built in infinite library of content to
do a better job actually helping the listener, attendee, or student.
The core value stem from three distinct truths that have
emerged with the V shaped business builder model that we
built together. Three things. Number one, all things are going

(04:49):
digital and they're growing. Number two, AI is growing, and
number three the models of business building are now simple.
So let's break all three of these downs. Truth one,
digital is growing. I wrote a book called Gravity, How
to create Irresistible Brands, unlimited deal flow, and Infinite Possibilities

(05:10):
in twenty nineteen. My essential thesis was something I called
MVR or Mobile Video and Remote. In my expeditions and
adventures on the Internet world as a data scientist who
became obvious and apparent that mobile usage was only growing
and will continue to grow. The use of video as
a learning tool is growing exponentially, and the world we

(05:30):
live in now is more remote work than ever before.
The world needs digital help, and the full stack business
builder is bringing that to you. Truth number two. AI
is growing. We all recognize that AI is growing. Shoot.
I spent all of the entire year of twenty twenty
three leveling up in all of the world of AI

(05:52):
so I could invest and deploy more money into amazing
AI startups and projects. With the rise of AI, human
touch will be a premium. Let me say this again,
the value of human help will be an inverse correlation
to the rise of AI. The more that AI grows
and the more that people don't trust the swaths of

(06:13):
AI generated content, the more valuable and monetizable direct human
help will be. The world needs access to the entire
stack of business help. That's why we're bringing it to you, guys.
And finally, truth number three, the models of business building
are now simple. We've covered the model that Molly Taylor

(06:36):
and myself came up with. The v shaped business builder model.
This is a model that fully encapsulates our product. All
of the knowledge and know how of how to build
a business is available all over the Internet. The problem
is much of it is not helpful, lacks context, and
certainly lacks the human touch. I've already heard comments from
business people and business builders that they'd actually prefer a

(06:57):
human than an AI copilot or AII agent. Maybe they're
getting too prolific. While these AI systems are helpful in
frameworking ideas and rapidly prototyping ideas, AI is not at
the level of creativity required to actually solve real problems
and create unique experiences. Since the models of business have

(07:18):
now moved to the simple domain, the opportunity that exists
for business builders is obvious. Create a library of human
help that is searchable, usable, and provides a connection point
to real business builder experts who can actually help the
entrepreneur and operator build their dreams. So what's all this?
In a nutshell, the full stack business builder network is

(07:40):
five things. Number one, an infinite content funnel of excerpt
business help to the world. We provide the platform you.
If you're a business builder and you want to join us,
you do an amazing job and we make you look great.
Number two a content library of your products, services and
offerings to the world. Once again, will help you look

(08:00):
amazing as we promote you to the world. Number three
a community of human help. We want to ensure that
the world knows about you. We're just beginning. What would
it look like to fill a content category with all
of your services. The more you engage, the more you
can earn and grow. Number four a network of Full
Snack business Builder help. All of us need others to

(08:21):
help our business get to the next level. We're here
to do just that. Your wins are our wins. Let
us network you to the right people and add gasoline
to your fire. And Number five access to luminaries in
business building. We're going big friends. We want to give
you all the access and all the most successful business
builders on TV and social We want you rubbing shoulders

(08:44):
with them. So in final summary, in our final retrospective
of Full Snack business Builder one, it's done and it's
time for Full Snack Business Builder Conference. Number two. We
had over one hundred and fifty people at our inaugural conference.
One hundred and fifty two people to be exact super exciting.

(09:05):
The amount of lessons learned, opportunities for improvement and experiences
are countless. We're only up, my friends, and our gears
are already moving. We could not have done it without
our amazing speakers, our amazing sponsors, and our growing community.
Thank you so much. You want to get a jump
on the next full Stack Business Builder conference too as
a speaker, make sure you apply on fsbb io. All

(09:29):
the best I think we're going to be signed

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
