(00:03):
Hey. A greeting to all ourlisteners of or Rosario Radio I am Karen
Garcia and today at Podcast Uere,we present full Bright scholarships sowing opportunities.
We have a very special guest,Ana María Carvajal, who will tell us
what these scholarships are and for thosewho do not know full Bright Colombia.
It is the Commission for Educational Exchangebetween the United States and Colombia that supports

(00:28):
students who claim to expand their master' s and doctorate skills. We will
be hearing more details with Ana María, educational advisor at the full Bray Colombia
Commission. Hello Maria, how areyou, Hello Karen, how about Good
morning, Ana María, before Iwould like to thank you for accepting this
space in which we have many doubtsin front of these full Bright scholarships in

(00:54):
the United States then expand the informationof what is this organization Full Brat Colombia.
Or of course they are, thankyou so much for this space.
I start by telling you a littlebit that it' s full Bright.
Full Brat is a program that dependson the United States Department of State and
is today the main academic exchange programbetween the United States and the rest of

(01:17):
the world. It is a programthat emerges after the Second World War with
the purpose of strengthening academic, educationalscientists links between the United States and other
countries. Today full Bright has apresence in more than one hundred and sixty
countries around the world. In Colombiait exists more than sixty- seven years

(01:38):
ago and every year the full Braakprogram in Colombia opens a call for postgraduate
scholarships. Let' s just saywe' re being asked what Fullbak does,
and the answer is the Full Bateprogram. What it does is offer
scholarships that try to strengthen the linksthat exist between the academic and scientific community

(02:02):
of the United States and Colombia. How this initiative is born and support people
to study a graduate degree in theUnited States. Yes, well, let
' s say that the Folbrate programtries to do this all over the world
and it' s very interesting becausejust being able to be part of the

(02:25):
full community means meeting people from allover the world who gather in the United
States to carry out either graduate studiesor even teaching research stays. But post
- graduate scholarships specifically. What theyare looking for is that professionals from all
regions of Colombia, from all thepopulations that make up our country, have

(02:52):
the opportunity to travel to the UnitedStates and advance there their master' s
and doctoral studies in the well-known universities, in the accredited universities.
And let' s say that theprocess that is done through our program is
that full Blouse launches an annual calland in that period when the call is

(03:15):
open, is that we receive theapplications of the people interested in presenting themselves,
to win the BECA and thus starttheir graduate studies in the United States.
Perfect ana. We understand that fullBright betas have a portfolio for their
application, which are BECCA credit forgivablefull Bright. My science grants credit for

(03:38):
full Bright for communities of African descentand G William full Bright betas. You
could expand each of these categories.Of course I do. That' s
a question you often ask us ifthere' s a full Brat BECA and
the answers are no full Baide scholarship. There are several Fulgray scholarship programs,
each with different quotas. So let' s start with the Bennis Forgivable Science

(04:03):
Grant, which is the biggest programwe' re offering this year, with
forty places for people interested in advancingdoctoral studies at universities in the United States
for all people who either have amaster' s degree or have two years
of research. Let' s saythey don' t have a master'

(04:27):
s degree, but they can certifythey have two years of research. From
research experience, these people could applyand apply for this scholarship that will allow
them to do their doctoral studies atuniversities in the United States. The other
is the condon talk credit grant forcommunities of African descent, and that is

(04:47):
a program that is being offered toall people in Colombia who belong to the
Community, to the Black Nart,Pro- Colombian, Raisal and Palenqueras communities.
These people can apply for this programand it is to do aberto master
' s studies in all areas ofknowledge. The last is the J William

(05:10):
Fullbreak scholarship, which is a scholarshipbeing offered this year. It is also
open to all areas of knowledge. It is being offered to all people,
regardless of whether they belong to ethnicor non- ethnic comforts, or minority
or not. For all people inthe country who are willing to do their

(05:30):
master' s degree at the universityin the United States, they can apply
for the Jar William Full Brad scholarship. Those are the three programs we are
offering for this year. What hasbeen the scope of Full Bright scholarships,
how many people have benefited and inwhat areas of knowledge. That' s
a big question. The programme hasbenefited more than five hundred people since its

(05:55):
existence in Colombia. The vast majorityof these people have been graduate students,
that is, Colombians and Colombians whotravel to the United States to do their
master' s degrees or doctorates.Scholarships have traditionally been open to all areas
of knowledge. Let' s saywith a few exceptions. There are times

(06:17):
there are scholarships specifically for artists,or there are scholarships specifically for some work,
on some particular subject, and thatwill depend on the characteristics of the
scholarship that opens in a portfolio ofa given year. But in general,
the scholarships have covered all areas ofknowledge and yes, that I can say,

(06:41):
five four hundred people have been beneficiariesof the Fullrate scholarships in Colombia.
Well, Ana Maria, and forall those people and students who are listening
to us and who are interested inparticipating in how the scholarship application is made,
then the most important thing is thatthey enter our website, which is
full Bright EUC full Baks writes withjust one l fulbright. They Google us

(07:13):
as fullver. Colombia will give youthe result of our website. On our
website they must enter a tab calledscholarships and there they will go for each
of the options until they manage tofind the menu with the three scholarships that
we talked about a while ago, which are the portfolio of bejas for this

(07:33):
year. There you will find onthe website a document that is vital,
central to the application, which iscalled the terms of reference. And that
document is vital because there you willfind all the specific requirements, the step

(07:54):
by step of how to apply eachof the detailed benefits offered by begas,
etc. Then it is very importantif you are interested and interested in applying
to the call that you read thatdocument of the terms of reference, where
you will be able to find withall the details, all the minuteness of

(08:15):
what you need to do in orderto be able to submit to the call.
And what has been the impact offull Bright scholarships in Colombia? Yes,
it is a subject on which wehave been working in recent years and
which we want to collect more andmore information. But the fundamental purpose of
the full Bright program has been tobe able to identify leaders people who are

(08:43):
highly committed to the community and society, people who want to contribute in some
way to trying to solve some ofthe many problems we have in our country.
And in that sense, the scholarshipshave been offered just for the poor
people who have shown a higher commitmentto society, a greater attempt to positively

(09:05):
impact the country. Then we havefull brighers who have done very impressive things
the truth and very positive for thecountry. I believe that one of the
great benefits of applying to FullBread grantsis precisely that of being able to connect

(09:28):
with a community of people who havebeen working hard, from the education sector,
from the public sector, from theprivate sector, from different fields,
have been working hard to try tocontribute to society. Then we hope to
continue doing this for many years. We hope that our full briders of the

(09:52):
past, present and future will bepeople who continue to work hard to make
the world a little better. EndizaAndana Maria have social networks for one to
learn about the new full Bright scholarships. Of course I do. They find
us on all social networks, likeFullbreak Colombia. They find us on Facebook,

(10:16):
on Instagram, on linktein on whatwas once called Twitter and now it
' s called ex On the veryimportant YouTube channel they' re going to
find a lot of tutorial videos thatare going to be very useful to put
together their app. Videos on howto make a living sheet in English,

(10:37):
the requirements for scholarship calls, thatI can prepare the English exam that they
