(06:15):
what you do. And then beforewe get off of here, we'll discuss
what you've got coming up and aswell as how people can reach you.
So we will give you. Wehave plenty of time to die in and
find out about you. Can youstart with you know, where are you
from? I am actually I wasborn in South Carolina, raised in Seattle,

(06:43):
Washington, and I'm smith the majorityof my life in Georgia. So
in Atlanta, Georgia right now.Wow, that's amazing, that's so good.
You know how Atlanta is the placeto be. It's like the the
soun o there in Hollywood. Yes, indeed, yes, indeed, yes,

(07:04):
that is so exciting. So howdid you grow up, Gloria?
Did you grow up with a silverspoon in your mouth? Did you?
How did you grow up? Howdid you get to become a financial coach?
What brought you there? I didnot grow up with a silver spoon

(07:24):
in my mouth. I grew upprobably just like an ordinary child would grow
up, wanting things, being exposedto a lot of different things at an
early age, so I got achance to kind of see the world from
a different perspective. So not livingwith a lot of black but I experienced

(07:46):
a traumatic event in my life andthat's kind of what propelled me to learn
and to want to learn more aboutfinances. So I was raised by my
guardian, my aunt who's now deceased, and she became ill. And when
you have an illness and you don'thave insurance to help you rebound, then

(08:11):
your whole life gets turned upside down. But that's what happened in my situation.
So we had to, you know, think outside of the box.
We had to change our lifestyle andstill survive and still want to accomplish all
the things that you know, wedesire to accomplish in life. So I
learned at this age how important itis to have insurance. Everybody talks about

(08:39):
it, and you know, somepeople won't give it the credit that is
due. They kind of, youknow, they kind of downplay it,
but it does play its part inour society. So she didn't have the
disability insurance. Because of that,I experience losing our house and health insurance,
going to another school district, livingin another community, having another set

(09:03):
of friends, and on and onand on and on. Can I ask
you how old were you when shegot sick? Oh, my goodness,
you would have to ask heydk.I was about thirteen, okay, about
thirteen years school you were in,like middle school? Because that's devastating.

(09:26):
That's why I had to ask,you know, what kind of age ranger
you were in, because that's,like you said, that's life changing,
having to learn how to pivot whenyou should still just be I mean,
we have so many things that goon in middle school and you're getting ready
to go to high school and soand you probably grew up with all your

(09:48):
friends from elementary to middle school? Is that? How is that what you
did? Well? Actually, whenthis event happened, I was separated from
those friends because we relocated to anotherpart of the city, in another area,
and at the time, believe ornot, we didn't have a car.
We didn't have a vehicle. Ourtransportation was the bus, the natural

(10:11):
bus. Okay, Yeah, soI grew up not being around them at
this particular time, which kind madethings even a little bit more difficult.
New school, new friends, youknow, that's the thing. Yes,
yes, yeah, and I wasimagining that because I'm like, that's very
difficult, you know, at thatage, and then to have your caregiver

(10:33):
to be sick and then pass.So yes, yeah, that's very difficult.
Yes, so go ahead and tellus. You know, you didn't
have she didn't have disability insurance, lost the house, you had to move,
change schools, and that caused youto get into a place of I

(10:54):
don't ever want to be there again. Yes, they tell you that.
You know your you know your parentswill always tell you that if you want
to be taught a lesson, thenyou have to experience it. So I
learned the lesson the hard way.So and then if you flip it on
the positive side, because there's alwaysa positive to a negative, right,

(11:18):
and so if it taught me howto actually if I'm going to sell disability
insurance, for example, I cantell you specifically what it did in our
situation now the benefits of not havingit, and then I can actually explain
to you the benefits of having it. So you always you always want to

(11:39):
teach from experience. You always wantto teach from experience. If I'm going
to recommend something to somebody, Iwant to be able to say that I
know what I'm talking about. I'mjust pulling a rabbit out of the hat.
So yes, it taught me atan early age to plan, to
plan for the unexpected and life becausewe know they are going to happen.

(12:01):
M And that's phenomenal because you knowthat even experiencing everything you did that took
you to a place of insurance. So how did you get into selling insurance?
I got into selling insurance when Iwas at college, graduated from Sale

(12:24):
Pacific University. And it's really funny. One of the interns, he was
a lawyer. He pulled me tothe side and said, hey, you
know what, I'm going to sharesome information with you about the importance of
what life insurance can do for you. You know, provides cash value and
a death benefit and on and onand on. And I'm like, you

(12:48):
know, eighteen years old, right, I'm like life insurance. I don't
think I need any life insurance. But because we'll look at this, he
said, you can invest the difference. So this time it was al Williams.
Okay. So it was a lifeinsurance concept where you buy term life
insurance to protect your life and thenyou invest a couple of extra dollars twenty

(13:09):
five fifty dollars extra, and thatwould be invested in a mutual fund so
that you can grow your wealth. So caw, you have an investment.
So I'm an eighteen years old,I'm thinking about okay, so I need
life insurance. I don't know whatwould happen. I experienced a risk early
on in my life. I'm interestedin investments because I was majoring in business.

(13:31):
So I said, that sounds likea pretty good deal. So that's
how I got involved in it.He introduced me to that concept. I
went on got license to sell securities, to start selling mutual funds and life
insurance at the same time. AndI was off and running, as they
say, wow, that is phenomenal. So then how did you get into

(13:54):
financial coaching being a financial advisor.I'm a former I need to correct this.
I'm a former financial advisor. Iworked with aig A former financial advisors
are a fee based planner. SoI am a life insurance agent, a
formal former financial advisor, fee basedplanner licensed series six sixty three sixty five,

(14:16):
all that stuff with the GENERA andthe Securities Exchange Commission, and I
have a couple of licenses behind myname. I'm a certified they call it
UM I'm sorry, a c fS, which is a certified fund specialist.
So that's learning about different types ofassets, different types of investments like

(14:41):
mutual funds, index funds, andstocks and bonds and precious metals and EFTs
and cryptocurrency and all that stuff. So based on the experience of selling investments
and securities and insurance and working withclients helping to build their financial plans,

(15:03):
helping them to build out the planthat they desire, helping them to analyze
their current situation so that we canbring their plan into existence, I decided
that I would also become a financialcoach because they're so similar, very very
similar. People do business with whothey know, love and trust. And

(15:26):
when you sit down and talk withsomeone and they share their desires, and
I'm one that believes you have tospeak your desires out. And when you
speak those out and you're persistent aboutachieving them, if you have a plan,
you will be able to achieve themas long as you are consistent.
So that's where the coaching aspect comesinto play. So I'm their accountability partner.

(15:50):
I'm the raha person. I wantto make sure that you know you're
able to accomplish your desires and everyonethese tools in place to do that,
they need someone to hold them accountable. And first of all, you have
to believe that your dreams and desiresare obtainable. M right. That's how

(16:11):
I got into that that area andseeing and just what you're saying, it
makes me think of or go toyou being a transformative transformational speaker. So
I was looking at some of thetopics that you speak about the power to
imagine, the game plan, imagine, believe, prosper, believe and prosper,

(16:34):
the financial plan, and faith versusfear. Out of those topics,
I was looking at the power toimagine, how does that connect as a
transformative speaker? How does that connectto that financial side and the transformational speaker

(16:56):
side. Everything starts with your imaginenation there if if you cannot, if
you do not rather have faith inyour imagination, then you don't have a
dream. Mus success lies in onlyone direction, that's straight ahead, and

(17:18):
if you backtrack, you will getsidetracked. So once you imagine your desires,
you can have whatever it is thatyou want. And so as a
transformational speaker. I believe that mygift is to pull out those desires,

(17:41):
and we do that through our coachingprogram. So I'm looking at a person
as a comprehensive let's say, person, a body, a soul. And
once we once we start and Ifind out what it is that you believe
you have to have, you haveto believe that your desires are within your

(18:03):
reach, and then we start buildingon building blocks from that standpoint to get
you to accomplish all the goals thatyou desire. M okay, okay,
So can you give us can yougive us an example? Can you use
me as a guinea pig, usuallyas a guinea pig. Okay, I'm

(18:26):
gonna I'm gonna try my best touse a pig. I'm gonna use you
as the queen of guinea pigs, right. Okay, So when we met,
for example, I'm gonna go back, and when we met, I
saw something very unique in you asa person, okay, and I believe

(18:47):
we both saw it in each other, and we decided that we were like
minded and we were going to connectand stay connected. Yes, okay,
So you are still on your pathof accomplishing your destiny whatever, it is
that was in you when I metyou. It is still in you today.

(19:10):
So you haven't haven't you haven't goneoff track. You're you're moving straight
ahead. You're in that same direction. Yeah, and like minded people see
that, gravitate to that in eachother, and so you need you need
to. We always need to surroundourselves with people that are heading in the

(19:33):
right direction, Associate with people inthe right direction, people that are positive,
people that set goals, accomplish goals, attack obstacles, equations around.
And we're really no different than thenext person other than we believe in our
desires. We're persistent in our pursuitof accomplishing our goals. And in that

(19:57):
process, we're being tram transformed tothe greater person that we are, the
greater Me, the greater Crystal, the greater Gloria, right right right.
And that's excellent because um, whenwe connected, you know, I could
see the powerhouse that so um,and we immediately started working together like we

(20:26):
were working together though, Okay, let's let's do this, and let's work
this, and um, you know, and that is amazing because there's so
many books that I have read, you know, as a coach in um,
so much transformation that has happened thatone of the things they tell us
to do, UM is definitely thepeople that are around you. They need

(20:49):
to be successful. There needs tobe some that are doing greater things than
you, maybe some on the samelevel, you know, maybe one below
you. But we always need towill know kind of where we're going based
on who's around us. So fromour amazing audience, for those of you

(21:10):
that are listening, you know, make sure you start connecting yourself, you
know, with a great group ofpeople that are going in the direction that
you're going towards success. So Ithink that is phenomenal and I appreciate you
using me as a guinea pig.Yeah, it's really funny because you know,

(21:33):
we all, you know, we'reall on a mission, okay,
and in my mission is to bethe best version of Gloria that I can
possibly be. Yeah, everyone Ihang around, I want them to be
the best possible version of themselves thatthey can be. Yeah, you know
they you know, like I said, oren, iron sharpens iron. Well,

(21:55):
I'm going to make sure that you'regoing to be the best person that
you can be. If we're goingto be in this same room together if
it, and what that means isif we want something that we never have,
we have to do the things thatwe've never done before. So we
have to we have to get outof our comfort zone, even in this
recession, maybe depression, or whateverit is. We have to believe that

(22:19):
the promises that we are given fromour father, those promises are ours,
those promises are yes. Yes,yes, yes, yes, you know
what I mean. We can't worryabout what is going on in the world.
We have to know within our soulsthat greater is he that's in us

(22:41):
than he's in the world. Andwhat is for me is for me.
And if I want to get whatI desire, then I have to be
persistent. I have to use myimagination and I have to dig for it.
I have to work for it,because no one is going to give
you anything. In fact, Idon't expect anyone to give me any right.

(23:02):
I know how to work. Iknow how to work for everything that
I need and desire. So weneed to learn how to depend on ourselves,
our ability, our mind resources, and share that information with our family
members. But sometimes members don't believeyou know where we're going. They can't

(23:29):
see it. They can't see thevision that we have as entrepreneurs. And
you know, sometimes they don't seeit because I know there's probably some family
members that were probably like, Idon't want insurance. You know, sometimes
people equate insurance with death and theydon't understand how much it can help when

(23:49):
you're alive as well as in death. Yeah, that's that's really funny because
the same people that you don't believe, like you believe that's okay, we
have we have a solution for that, right, we just shape the dust
off and keep on going. Butyou know, everybody knows you were going
to be born in this world andyou're gonna die in this world, okay,

(24:14):
So why not be responsible to makesure that you have life insurance so
you don't leave that responsibility you knowsomeone else. Right, everybody needs homeowners
insurance. So you don't want yourhouse to burn down and you can't you
can't rebuild your house. You know, if you're married and you you know,
one of the spouses die, doyou want your spouse to move out

(24:37):
of that house because she can nolonger afford it because she didn't have mortgage
insurance and now now she's on thestreet. Do you want to be ill
and you don't have health insurance,so now you got to stand in line
to get free medicine. See,you know you want to do You want
to work all your life, andnow you're sixty years old and you don't
have a retirement plan. Okay, these things don't make any sense. You

(25:03):
raise kids and now it's time forthem to go to college, and you
didn't start a college fund. Younever started a college fund for them.
Does does that make any sense? They didn't ask to come into this world.
We drop them in the world. So why don't we be good stewards
of the mind and the resources thatwe have been given. You have to
plan for your family, get theplan for yourself, because if you wait

(25:30):
and let somebody else do it,then you can't complain what you get.
Now, I want to ask youthis because I see this so often.
I've had people message me about ago fund Me account, and so many
people use a go fundi account inplace of insurance, and that you know,

(25:52):
it's we need to do this funeralright now. So what can you
say to our listening audience about ago fund Me account? Well, I've
never participated in a gofund me account. That's a new concept, and I
just think everyone needs to be responsiblefor themselves. You need to buy life
insurance. You can get life insurancefor pennies on the dollar. You can

(26:14):
get a term life insurance policy, let's say for someone who's about twenty years
old. I mean, you canget a life insurance policy for about ten
dollars a month. You know, the amount of money that we spent on
Starbucks or nails, or tattoos,or Gucci bags or Louis vattons or tennis
shoes. You can buy life insurance. So there's no excuse to have a
gofund me account. I think that'sjust a poor excuse of not being responsible.

(26:40):
Now, I love that word thatyou use. Responsible. We have
got to be responsible even response. That's responsibility in our destiny. So you
are an author, can you tellus about your being an author and how
you became one? Okay, SoI kind of test the waters a couple
of years ago and wrote a book. And the book is it's it's been

(27:07):
out for I guess been out forabout two years. It's a journal.
It's actually a journal guide titled Faithto Believe in prosper his word about our
finances. I know you're probably thinkingevery time she talks about something as faith
or prosper or a man or believeor something, and I think, was
what that's all about. I'm justfollowing the directions. Okay, okay,

(27:27):
But anyway, I have a journalguide and it's a really great guy that
can be purchased at any bookstore. But I am working on a new book,
Crystal, and yes, I'm soexcited, and it will be out
in September. And again yeah,wo hoo, hoo hoo. So I'm
so excited about that. And umthat book is going to be out in

(27:52):
September. And the book is calledagain a Man Canna Believe and Prosper a
Financial godde And so this is youknow, I'm working on it now and
it's out in September. And againI'm staying in my lane. It's all
about my years of insurance financial planning, working with customers, working with clients,

(28:14):
helping them to be all that theywere destined to be, helping them
push out what they were birth tobe. And see that book, that
book is coming out and I'm soexcited about it. And it goes to
some of the things we talked abouttoday. You know, you know what's
happening with cryptocurrency, you know,a budgeting, precious medals, you know,

(28:37):
talking about goal being the real money, and then it's talking about you
know, life insurance and real estateand all that stuff. But you know
what I'm really excited about, butI'm probably jumping ahead of you. I'm
really excited about this business conference that'scoming out. Yeah, you know that.
I was going to definitely get tothat, but I didn't want to
not talk about your books because asevery great speaker has to have books.

(29:03):
You have to have books, andyou have to find you have to have
a way people can connect. Theyhave to know like and trust you,
and getting your book is a greatway to do that, as well as
hearing you speak, you know, hearing your message, and so that is
all I know. It's going tobe all in there at your event.

(29:26):
So tell us about your event. What why do people need to come to
that event? What will they receiveat the event. Okay, well I'm
so glad you asked. Well, the event it's called a Wealth Legacy Retreat
business conference. It's going to beheld September the eighth and ninth in Atlanta,

(29:48):

to have get this. We're gonnahave an attorney who's going to talk about

strategies. Oh good, Oh,we're gonna have this phenomenal one of my
mentors who's going to talk about mindsetand construction and just believing your yourself,

(30:33):

it's a structure, it's a program. You have to have that imagination,

(31:45):

talking about basic succession. Have Iever thought about crystal Like, we're building
this business, right, we're buildingthis legacy. What happens if our children

(32:05):
don't want the business? So howdo you sell? How do you sell
your business? So we're gonna talkabout succession planning. There are different strategies,
there are different avenues, there's franchises, there's so much there. So
she's gonna discuss that and share thatinformation with us. And we're gonna have
a person to talk about mindset. We're gonna have a wonderful, wonderful MC

(32:27):
that has just been around and havebeen involved in so much in the city.
Of Atlanta, and then I'm gonnabe there talking about insurance and financial
planning. And we're gonna have greatentertainment. We're gonna have jazz, We're
gonna have a comedian, We're gonnahave fine dining. Did I say there,
it's a resort. So there's aspa, there's there's a pool there,

so we can you know, Imean it's gonna be phenomenal. So
we're really what we're doing. I'mjust telling everybody, we're preparing the table

on that site as well as justreview all the details. If you want
to advertise a souvenir booklet, that'salso available to you, and we have
just a couple more slots available ifyou would like to be a vendor,

(35:06):
do good. But it's going tobe a time just to really share and
network and connect with people. Ithink you would be able to find whatever
you're looking for to help complete yourlegacy. You will be to find it
there because we are really providing aservice for everyone to make sure that you're

(35:30):
living your purpose. Yeah, youknow we're not. We're not marking time.
You know, we stopped that yearsand years ago. We're here to
make a difference. To make difference, I'm sorry, to have an impact
on our community, in our families. Okay, to be accountable for ourselves.
And we want something, we don'thold our hands out. We go

(35:52):
get it. Absolutely, we goget what we want. And now there's
gonna be plenty of knowledge and peoplehere to help you. If you're looking
for a mentor or a coach,or you're looking for business funding, if
you're looking for a mortgage, youknow, whatever you need. If you're
looking for a more healthier routine thanwhat you currently have as far as your

(36:15):
health is concerned, you will beable to find that there. That is
excellent. The other thing I wantedto ask, because you do list yourself
as a wellness advocate, So whatgive us something healthy to do when you
wake up in the morning and whenyou go to bed at night. But

(36:35):
I do every single day every singleday is I walk. I walk every
day. I practice yoga every day. I meditate every day. I have
a success confidence formula that I reciteevery day. I recite my affirmations every

(36:58):
day, and I listen to podcastass and I read every day. Because
I believe a healthy body is ahealthy mind. And we are supposed to
be good stewards of our body aswell as you're supposed to be good stewards
of our wealth. I'm supposed tobe good stewarts as far as being a

(37:19):
wife, a mother, a sister, or a aunt. It is holistic.
So the whole conqus is, weare Oh God, how can I
say that? We want to justmagnify the point that we want everyone to
really dig in and transform themselves tobe who they're destined to be. Because

(37:43):
the time is now. It's nottomorrow. The time is now. Leave
your legacy, leave a mark thatcannot be erased. And I believe it's
going to happen at this I believethat's gonna happen at this treat. All
right, I believe it too.I'm like you said, leave a mark

(38:06):
that what cannot be erased. Ilove that I love that. That is
so so very powerful. And Ilove the fact you know that you gave
the detail of what you do duringthe day and when when you talk to
read the books about wealthy people, they tell you get up, exercise,

(38:29):
speak nice to yourself, give yourselfsome affirmations. You know, you have
to have discipline and structure even tobe an entrepreneur, even to you know
it be successful. You've got todevelop ways um that work for you.
And I love that mind, body, and soul you have to m you

(38:51):
have to be a good steward overyour mind, your body, your soul.
Yes, and that I love. That I love And if I can
add one thing, Christo, isthat we have to tell our mind what
to do. Our mind doesn't tellus what to do because a subconscious mind
doesn't know the difference between right andwrong. To come on, okay,

(39:14):
So we have to get up andsay, okay, this is what we're
going to do today, this iswhat my plans are today. Yes,
I'm okay. So we have towe have to realize that we have the
power if we believe we have thepower, And everything starts with the imagination.
What do you want your legacy tobe let's make it happen. You

(39:36):
have to speak it into existence, you have to write it down, you
have to take actions, you haveto have a plan, you have to
be accountable. You have to makethese things happen. Wow. Well,
and you have to be positive everyday. There's so much negativity in the
world. But yet and still weare positive because why we are on a

(39:59):
mission. You're moving straight ahead.Yeah. Absolutely, that is so very
powerful. Now, when when thisis what I want to ask you,
people are doing, People are afraidof the recession. What can you um

(40:20):
state of people to increase their faithover the fear of the recession? How
can you help them? What statementcan you say to them? Too?
Well? My statement is very verysimple. Is that whose report are you
gonna believe? I'm gonna leave itthere. I don't have to say nothing

(40:40):
else. I love that. Whosereport are you gonna believe? What?
We were? Gonna be on God'sside and believe his report and what he
says because he always takes care ofhis people. He never leave us nor
forsake us. Right, that's right. There's no competition there. Yes,

(41:02):
yes, that is funny. Andyou focus you focus on that, Yes,
focus on whose report are you goingto believe? Yeah, you don't
focus on anything else. Yes,we have. Our father has given us
promises, and all the promises wealready said that are yes and amen.

(41:23):
So what you're talking about, right, what you're worried about exactly that we
already know that fear and faith cannotcoexist. So what are you talking about?
Right? That's good? Both thatbook and keep on moving. Mm.
That is so good, so good. Um. Now, one more

(41:45):
time, I need you to shoutout whoever you'd like to shout out,
give all your website information so thatthey will be able to contact you.
Give us a review with the namesof your books, so that we know
one that is coming in September. And are you releasing that at the event?

(44:04):
out in September and the book isImagine, Believe, and Prosper, a
financial Guide Boo. Yes, I'mso excited for you. You have just
been doing phenomenal and amazing things andthey're life changing, they are transformational,

(44:27):
and so as we m live dayto day, we have got to be
willing and ready and able to experiencethe knowledge, experience the wisdom that will
take us to a whole other level. So, Gloria, it sounds like
you are willing to teach those thatneed financial trans transformation, health and wellness.

(44:53):
You know all you just a fullpackage and so your best for me.
Yeah, and you know what,Chris, I didn't share this,
but the health part is very importantto me because I was diagnosed years and
years ago with something and I said, I'm not going to believe that report.
That's why I stand on that.Whose report are you're gonna believe?

(45:15):
Because I can tell you that itworks. I know without a doubt that
it works. Yes, Okay,So that's why the health and wellness is
so important to me, And Itell everybody if I can do this,
and Chris tell they can, ifthey can do what you're doing, Yes
for anybody, because I tell everyone, I'm just a redhead girl from South

(45:37):
Carolina is just trying to do herthing. You know. I'm just trying
to imagine and believe and prosper. That is my trademark, by the way,
but that all these redhead girls tryingto do is to make that happen.
And I know it will because Ibelieve, yes, and I love
that because I'm a breast cancer survivor. It's thirteen years and the breast cancer

(46:01):
that I had was triple negative,so it was growing at eighty three percent.
So when the doctor told me,my mind was already made up.
You know, it's okay, I'mgonna live and not die. And so
when you set your mind and you'reable to focus on life and not on
the report of the doctor, noton the diagnosis, and knowing that God

(46:27):
has more for you than you cankeep going. You can keep pushing and
pressing, and that is your overcomingstory. So thank you for pressing and
pushing and doing the phenomenal things thatyou've been doing. Well. Thank you,
and thank you for doing all thephenomenal things that you're doing too,
because we know at the end ofthe day the blessings may it rich and

(46:52):
it's no sorrow. Yes, Ilove it well, Gloria. I appreciate
you joining us tonight. It's beengreat talking to you, getting all your
information, and I know our listeningaudience is going to love to dive in

new Hollywood. That's the place whereyou need to be and go and enjoy.
So y'all make sure that you meetGloria in Atlanta in September. Again,
thank you so much. We loveyou. And what I would like
to say, same time next week, same place, missus rev Red and

(47:49):
Lady Crystal right here for power lift. Thank y'all so much, God bless
love. You have a great livingin faithful truth. John Ayden thirty two
says, and ye shall know thetruth, and the truth shall make you

(48:12):
free. How would have lived you? What power would have set you free?
We need a power lift. Thetruth will set you free, living
in faithful truth, receive the workin need. How what the gospel ministries
preach the word. Indeed, wehere shall help each other, witness the
truth, and protect each other. So we set aside ourselves so we can

(48:34):
reach each other. So let youworshiprise, let you praise out, and
that's the truth. Opinion, Releasethat holy shot. Listening to Ruth podcast
