(00:01):
Hello, everybody. It's fish updeb and I am just sneaking out for
a few minutes. I picked upsome takeout food and it is such a
beautiful night. I just had togo for a little spin around the neighborhood
down to the lake. There's somany people down there this time of the
night. We have one of themost spectacular views of sunset over Lake Ontario

(00:25):
at Ryerson Park. And it's gotto the point where so many people come
at sunset that they are slapping bigfines on people. We've got cops.
I passed a few police cars justso that people aren't, you know,
speeding or parking on people's lawns ordoing things they're not supposed to do.
But it's not quite sunset, butthe sky, the sun is low,

(00:49):
the sky is blue, and itis it's still pretty humid. It's been
a hot day, but it's soglorious. All the hydrangea is arount like
snowball and the trees look like thatbeautiful deep green of summer. And when
I left, there was a bunnyon my front lawn eating clover. I

(01:10):
got a couple of pictures. It'swe are so blessed, We are so
blessed to live in this part ofthe world. I never let a day
go by where I don't have somuch gratitude and thanks that, you know,
for all that I have. Youknow, I don't understand how people

(01:33):
have the money to rebuild homes andthere are a lot of places for sale,
and they get snapped up around here, and some places get torn down
and new ones get put up,and that's wonderful for people. I don't
know where they get the money.I look at the huge condos in Toronto
now, just you know, Ithink I stopped counting at thirty five on

(01:56):
the way in when I was goingin the other week. That's a lot
of places for people to live, and they're not cheap. You know.
Even a one bedroom apartment around herecan be fifteen sixteen hundred bucks a month.
It's really expensive. I'm very gratefulthat my son's still living with me
and we split the bills, youknow, we just they can't afford a

(02:17):
place of their own at this pointin their lives. They're you know,
hopefully can save some money and geton out there. But I'm grateful,
very grateful. You know. I'mself employed and the church gig doesn't come
with a paycheck. So you know, a lot of my life is spent

(02:38):
depending on divine providence, and italways works that moneys are there when we
need them. I'm a huge believer, as you know, in the law
of attraction and in prayer, thepower of prayer. You know, the
angels are looking after us. AndI'm just blessed. And it's so peaceful

(03:00):
here tonight. It's beautiful, justpeople walking kind of saundering along and enjoying
the evening air. And that's whatwe need to focus on. I think,
if I could make a suggestion,it's gratitude. And you hear about
it all the time, you know, attitude of gratitude. But I don't

(03:23):
know that we practice it as muchas we might. I know I don't.
I'm a complainer. I get worried, you know, I'm up there
with everybody else looking at the worldsituation, going Holy Hannah, what is
going on? But I think thatwe change the world. I know that

(03:45):
we change the world by a positiveattitude, by counting our blessings. More
blessings are given to us by lookingat ways in which we can make the
world a little bit lighter for somebodyelse. An act of kindness or two
or three or four or how manyyou can manage a day makes a difference.

(04:06):
When we are given a gift, when something good comes our way,
our reaction is positive. You know, it can be a small thing like
a somebody gets chok coffee. Lastnight, Simon brought home a burger for
me. You know, I'd hardyeaten. I wish you'd told me.

(04:26):
But still it was a gift, and that is That means that he was
thinking of me, and he washe wanted to do something nice for me,
and that really made my evening. You know, we go through life
almost on default. And I thinkthat if we woke up every day and

(04:47):
you know, put our feet onthe floor and said thank you for this
new day, and proceeded from thereto count every blessing that comes her way
and not give any energy to thenegative, not give any power whatsoever to
the things that are worrying us,because we're energizing that if we worry,

(05:10):
we're going to get more things toworry about. But if we bless we're
going to have more blessings come tous, and that will help the whole
world. When we smile at somebodythat's got a ripple effect. When we
say a kind word to somebody, that might be the kindest thing they hear
the whole day. So everything wesay and do counts, it matters.

(05:32):
And if we can keep ourselves inthat space of blessing and gratitude and positivity,
you know they're going to be thingsthat happen that will knock us off
that. But you know, ifthe faster we can get back to it,
the more comfortable our life will be, and the more we're going to
affect the light in the world. The world is, it's a dark place

(05:58):
right now. There are many thingshappening that are way out of our control
and that are very scary and thatare very real and make us scratch our
heads. But the reality is whenwe pray, when we pray for good,
when we pray for healing, whenwe pray for the angels to swoop
down and help everybody in need, those prayers are heard. And when we

(06:23):
walk through our day and we smileat people and we open a door,
or we pay it forward at thedrive through, or we bring home a
little present to a loved one, then that all has an effect to increase
the light to increase the goodness toeffect great things through many many little ones.

(06:46):
Many many little ones add up tobig things. So if we can
hang on to that, I'm justfeeling so blown away by life and the
goodness of life. I've been emptyingboxes again the last few days and going
through things that I kind of leftin the middle room, storage room,

(07:08):
used to be in my office, and every other box or halfway through the
box, I'm coming across things thatGina and I did together, and I
am so grateful for the time Ihad with her. It three months now
have passed, and it hardly seemspossible that it's not a long time.

(07:29):
It feels like forever. But inmany ways it's still so fresh per leaving
her departure. But in other ways, I'm so grateful that she was part
of my life and part of somany lives. She changed a lot of
people by her help, by hergood nature, her sense of humor,

(07:53):
by your frankness. You know, people were changed in all kinds of ways
because she walked the earth. Andwhen I look at that, you know
and know that she is at peace, that she is dancing, and that
there are reports for I'm getting morereports of her helping people all around the
world. I'm going to give herthe credit. I believe that that's true,

(08:18):
that in her way as she canfrom spirit, she's still changing lives.
So somebody said I was reading, maybe it's a Facebook post, and
somebody was talking about grief, andthey said that, you know, we
lose people. We say that Ilost a loved one, and really they

(08:39):
pointed out, they're not lost.We know where they are. They're in
spirit, they're dancing with God,they're in that place of love and light.
They're not lost at all, butthat relationship has changed. They're not
accessible in the same way as theywere. So I'm thinking of that.

(09:01):
And the other thing I heard thatwas, and I think I might have
posted about this on Facebook, butwhen we think of somebody who's passed on,
they're actually coming to us and tappingus on the shoulder. So we
get the thought of them because they'rethere, and I really like that.
It means that Jean's probably hanging aroundwith me a lot, and I'm just

(09:24):
not tuned in to her energy atthis point in time, but that will
come. And I know that lovenever dies. The people that pass on
that we love, that love staysstill. It's still echoing throughout time and
space forever, and that gives megreat comfort. But it's been a bit

(09:46):
of a challenge to get through thoseboxes some more and you know, let
go of things. Do I reallywant to keep this? This is important?
Or am I hanging on to itbecause you know, of some little
sentimental thing If I keep, IfI hold on to everything, my house
is going to look like a garagesale. So I have to have to

(10:09):
make some decisions. And the thingsthat are important, of course I'm keeping,
and the things, some of thethings that have sentimental value I am
not going to part with. Buta lot can be and has been taken
off to Goodwill. Got another trunkfull of things. So you know,
we let go what we can,and we counter our blessings and we give

(10:33):
thanks for the people who love ushere and now and those who have passed
on. Love is the glue thatmakes life worthwhile, right, It pulls
all the puzzle pieces together. Whenwe have love, When we can love,
when we get excited about things, when we feel that exhilaration of a

(10:56):
project, or a creative opportunity,or even a TV show that we love.
When we can have that emotion ofgoodwill and excitement and inspiration. I
think that makes the world a differentplace because our energy shifts and we are
happy. And that's what I'm aimingat. I'm meming at happy energy and

(11:20):
taking time out to grieve, butmore of my time now is focused on
ungratitude and blessing and giving thanks, and that is a good place to be.
So anyway, my food is gettingcold. It can't get very cold
because it's kind of hot out,but it sure smells good in the car.
But I thought i'd just chuck inand wish you all a happy week

(11:45):
ahead at Sunday night, and youknow tomorrow, put your feet on the
floor and say thank you for anothergreat day. I'm excited to take on
whatever this day brings. I knowsome people will wake up and say,
what fresh hell will come? Don'tdo that. Don't do that. It
only invites more fresh hell. Ifwe can put our feet on the floor

(12:07):
and take a deep breath and say, ah, a new day. This
is going to be the best weekever, the best day ever. Even
if it's the best minute ever, the next minute will be just as good.
Just keep on riding that wave ofgoodness. And I guarantee your life
will shift and you'll feel better aboutthings, and good things are gonna come,

(12:31):
good things will happen. You cantrust that, So have a great
time, good night, and I'lltalk to you again soon. God bless
