(00:01):
Good morning everybody. It's Bishop Daband again I'm not on the go.
I'm getting through my cross orders. He had a little interruption the other day.
While I was busily glazing, Igot a call from my son who
was at work, who informed methat he had to go to the hospital
because he had a little mishap witha bone saw. He's the meat guy
(00:25):
at their store, and so offwe went to the hospital, which was
kind of surreal because, as mostof you know, it wasn't all that
long ago that we said goodbye toJean there, so it was a little
emotional on a lot of levels. He's fine. He's fine. He needed
some stitches and they gave him atennis shot and some antibiotics and hasn't stopped
(00:51):
him. He went back to workthe next day and he's got DJ stuff
today and tomorrow, so he's uncomfortable. It caught him between the thumb and
forefinger and that little web just abovethere, so it's kind of unfortunate it's
at the right hand, but itdoesn't seem to be stopping him. So
(01:11):
he's good. Thank you for allyour good wishes and prayers. He's fine.
We're all good. We're all good. So today I'm completing I hope
the rest of the glazing. Itnever seemed to take this long before,
but life has been so busy, and there's been so many other things that
I've been working on. We're launchinga very special new project soon, which
(01:36):
I have to keep under wraps fornow, but we'll announce when we can.
And it's just a lot of thingshappening, you know, the yard.
I don't know that he's going toget out to finish the landscaping for
a few days until they know he'sall bandage shop. But it's not that
(01:57):
would know. It hurt to myso he's got to let that heel a
bit. It's one thing to pusha DJ button on the controller. It's
another thing to be picking up agazebo and moving it over and you know,
digging and using a shovel. Now, no, no, we're not
gonna let that happen anyway. Ihope that you are all well and ready
(02:19):
for a beautiful weekend. It's gorgeoushere. Thought was supposed to rain,
but it is blue skies and warm, and they got a wedding this afternoon,
so I guess maybe we'll be outdoorsfor it. Lots of things happening
this weekend, But it feels likesummer, doesn't it. It feels like
we're rolling into the summer months. And last night it was party city around
(02:42):
town here. People were even youknow, midnight twelve thirty, walking and
talking very loudly and enjoying the evening. It was. It just there's a
difference in the air, and soI think our circadian rhythm, our inner
(03:02):
clock or inner timer feels this kindof weather, and we start to long
for those lazy days, right thedays where we can take some time off,
or if you get a cottage ora place to go, you know,
your heart, your heart's are gettingthere. Yes, I was blessed.
(03:24):
I had so many friends growing upin my teen years. Especially they
had cottages. So I was aguest at many a cottage and got to
experience places and see things that Iwouldn't have ordinarily been able to see.
It was really an awesome group thatI hung around with, and so a
(03:49):
lot of good memories of you know, Muskoka and Halliburton, lots of cottage
country memories where we really, youknow, we were pretty mild. We
didn't get up to much mischief. We were good, good kids, which
is why the parents allowed us togo alone up to the up to their
(04:09):
cottages. When I think back,that's a lot of trust. There's a
lot of trust involved when you geta mixed group and it's you know,
teenage years. But we were verywell behaved and we left the place,
you know, in good shape whenwe were done. I didn't have any
(04:30):
camp experiences, but my kids did. I was really quite blessed to be
able to get them into some goodcamps in their teen years. One was
Camp Kuchuching when I was still anAnglican priest. They got to go free
and I became the chaplain for theseason, so I would go up and
be able to visit and also doa Sunday community service with kids, or
(04:51):
I'd be around here and there todo some activities. It was so much
fun. I loved those years. That was great. Anyway, I'm waxing
poetic here. It's I'm trying toavoid watching the news, but I'm praying
for the world. Things just areso upsetting when you read the At the
(05:13):
moment. Do not have a TVhooked up, so I haven't been watching
CNN, and my stress level seemsto be down because of it. But
read the headlines right, and thewhole Middle East thing is just so upsetting,
and you know, people reacting andresponding and encampments popping up all over
the place. People want to dosomething, they want us to stop,
(05:35):
and it's gone beyond political boundaries. It's all about humanity. It's about how
we treat each other. And Ithink that's so important even in our daily
lives, like how do we treateach other? How do we treat people
on the street. Do we smile? Do we ignore them? You can
make it an absolute difference in somebody'sday by just looking at them and smiling.
(05:59):
I do this all the time atthe post office because people tend to
want to be like, oh,I'm just going to get my mail,
don't look at me. But aswe're passing in the parking lot, we're
all neighbors. They're not coming therethat don't live here, you know,
they're getting their male and I alwayssay hello, how are you today,
And especially older people who are kindof lost in thought, they'll looked up,
look up, and it'll tickle themand I'm fine, thank you,
(06:24):
dear. You know, so wecan make a difference that that might be
the first and only contact they havewith somebody in the day. So we
think of ourselves as ambassadors of cheer. Ambassadors of cheer. Maybe that's the
thing. Maybe I'll make T shirts. But it's important that we look out
for one another. I couldn't havegot through this time without my family and
(06:46):
friends and you know, the supportof my wonderful church and clergy. Every
now and then, I kind ofgriefs a funny thing. It kind of
sneaks up and grab you. AndI've had a couple of days of I
guess thinking too much because I've I'vebeen involved in making crosses and it's very
(07:10):
meditative and kind of a quiet, solitary activity and just sort of going over
things in my mind. And that'salways dangerous for me. It's very dangerous
because once I start thinking, thenI overthink. Then they go places and
get emotional, and you know,I think too deep and it can get
(07:30):
you. But the sport I haveexperienced is I can't even express my gratitude.
So you know, a good system, a good system of folks to
lean on, and I try tospread it around so that I don't become
too oh no, she's calling again. I don't want to be that person,
(07:53):
but I don't think I could everbe that person. But I've had
my moments, and I guess peopleforgive me for it, but it's you
know, we're praying, praying, praying for so many people right now who
have loved ones in hospice, orwho are saying goodbye to people who are
just going through stuff themselves. There'sa lot of hard things happening in our
(08:18):
in your friend's group two, maybeeven you. So you know, let's
let's do a little prayer of connectionand healing to bring people to Divine Love's
guidance and grace, and hopefully we'llyou know, feel the power as we
say it and feel buoyed up bythe the great presence of God of however
(08:48):
you name God. Divine Love isa perfect way to describe, just so
that we can know that we're notalone. We're never alone. That's the
thing. We feel alone. Andif we had a special camera, we
would be surprised who's in the roomwith us, because spirit, people in
spirit pop in and out and sayhello. I've yet to have any unforgettable
(09:18):
you know, Oh my God,moments with Gene contacting, but I know
she's around and I know that she'shelping others too. I'm getting reports.
I get reports from her friends allover the world saying I think Gene came
to see me today, or thisstrange kucko burr bird came and you know
in Australia, it's not the kindof bird that often comes. I'm thinking
(09:41):
that was a visit from Jeane, what do you think? And I think
it was. You know, Ilike to think that she's catching up because
she's been so limited the last numberof years. So our loved ones aren't
far and that gives me hope.I hope gives you hope. That you
know, love us ever lost, love never dies, and that we're always
(10:03):
surrounded by people who and you know, our angels, who are there for
us at all times when we needthem. We just have to remember to
ask to reach out. So let'sdo that. Gracious God, we give
you thanks for the gift of thisbeautiful day, the stay filled with possibilities
and potential. We pray for ourselvestoday for all the things that disturb us
(10:31):
and concern us, the things thatkeep us awake at night, that worry
us. We ask that you bringresolution, happy resolution to all of our
anxiety, to all of our worries, that we might know your grace,
your mighty hand at work to bringus comfort and peace and prosperity and all
(10:52):
good things, healing blessings. Maywe know them today. And we pray
for all those people in our liveswho who are ill, who are experiencing
seasonal ellergies, who are wrestling withthings that are way too big at this
time. We ask such a mightyangels go to them and help them,
help smooth the way before them, and bring to them helpful people that will
(11:16):
restore them and bring them what theyneed. We pray for the world,
all the people of the world whosuffer, who need to know your healing
touch, who need to know peaceand safety and security and love. May
all the world, all the peopleof the world, know that they are
(11:41):
one. May we show in ourlives respect for one another. Maybe we
uphold the dignity of every person inour lives, in our communities, so
that that might have a ripple effect. As we respect, as we treat
people well, as we see ourconnection and act on that connection by a
(12:05):
smile or a kind, a kindword, or an act of charity.
May that have a ripple effect aroundthe world, so that the world will
be changed, become a kinder, gentler place, a place of compassion,
a place where love is made manifest. That's our fervent prayer for today.
(12:26):
And as we look around in thebeauty of the world, may we be
aware of the gift of circles andcycles in our lives, and may we
know that we are part of that, and that we have a part to
play, and that we might knowwith certainty the path to which we've been
(12:46):
called as we sojourn on this world. On this journey, we give you
thanks for all your blessings, andin your holy name we pray Amen.
I cood used to being not onthe go. I didn't have any cats
coming in to yell at me today. That was a nice thing. But
(13:07):
I hope that you have a lovely, lovely day and super weekend. Talk
to you soon. By
