Thank you for joining me today onGood News with Twine to Black, where

Call up a friend and let themknow it's time for some good news.

(00:30):
Hello, family, and welcome toGood News with Twine to Black.
I am your host. We talkwith folks from all walks of life about
their good news. Because when yourbrothers and sisters are having good news,
so are you. It's a blessing. So sit back, relax and enjoy.
My next guest I have with metoday, Pastor Levi herrel God,

(00:51):
she's got so many times. Let'ssee. He is CEO of Lee by
Herrell Enterprises and Strategic. He's amagazine editor in chief. He's a singer
songwriter. Um oh, and operationsmanager for school. Um I leave anything
out? Did I say the bookyou're yeah, your author a whole lot

(01:14):
of the author astor coach. Yes. Yes, it's a blessing to be
able to do the things you loveto do. Though absolutely absolutely, I'm
grateful and thankful for every everything Godhas given me. And it's it's a
lot, but there's certain pockets andseasons where one might be needed more than

(01:34):
the other, and so the othergift gets to rest while I maximize the
other one. Yeah, but hey, my pockets and my life never runs
dry, and I'm greatful now.I have a question when I when I
would see you ten fifteen years ago. Yeah, I mean, I had
no idea you had all of thisgoing on? What were you doing then?

(02:00):
Back then, I was trying tofigure out who I was. To
be completely honest, I knew Ihad a lot of ideas and concepts and
stuff in my mind, but Iwasn't sure what to tackle first, you
know, I wasn't sure. Andthen I dealt with fear. Let's be
very clear, dealt made your fear. You know, I didn't know if

(02:22):
I could sing, if my voicewas good enough. You know, in
my preaching, I didn't know ifI had the talent enough. You know,
even back then, that was beforemy spiritual mother, doctor City Trim,
even ordained to me. So ofcourse that adds layers. I'm not
ordained, so I can't preach.I'm not I'm not part of this,
so I can't do that. Soback then I was on a journey of
discovery, and I still am now, but I'm now discovering with another level

(02:45):
of precision, and I'm in mypurpose and so I'm not just all over
the place, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh, I
didn't know all that was going on, but you know, I would always
see you always mannerable speak and wechit chat, but I just never knew,
So I wonder what he's doing. And then you know, I knew
you were singing at the time, but kind of sparingly. Yeah, And

(03:07):
you know, we all have thatjourney to us literally. Yeah. And
I want to say thank you becauseall these years you've always been kind same
thing. You've always been just anice person, a caring person. And
even though we didn't speak all thetime, but every time there was an
engagement, I always left your presencefeeling like she's such a nice woman.

(03:29):
Yeah, you welcome talk about talkabout COVID. What what happened with you
during COVID. I think everybody hasa story, a COVID story for that
season of our lives when we wereall lockdown, many things were going on.
So what happened to you during COVID? So I could go on many

(03:51):
ways with that. So here's what'sinteresting. Twenty nineteen. I was serving
a ministry for ten years, andI was obviously actually on staff and a
lot was going on. But inmy spirit the end of two thousan nineteen,
I knew something had to ship.I didn't know what was coming.
I didn't know what was ahead,but I said, I do not want

(04:13):
to go onto two and twenty inthis same predicament. I didn't know what
that looked like. I didn't knowif it meant that ministry. I just
knew this pattern, this structure isnot working. So December two nineteen,
a major shift happened for me whereI left that scenario that was also my
place of employment to being full timeministry on my own and from January or

(04:35):
the end of December up until COVIDtraveling NonStop, hosting conferences, and people
were just talking like crazy, andI'm gonna get trying to figure out am
I gonna have a job, I'mI gonna live, like what am I
gonna do? And doors just keptopening as if a signal went out,
He's free, gonna get it right. So literally I was thrusted into my

(04:58):
own of again just traveling like crazy. I think one of my last speaking
engagements was in South Carolina for alaunch of a church and then right after
that I went to a beach andhung out. And that's not got the
word about COVID nineteen and one ofmy friends and I were out there and
we were like, is this ajoke? Is it's real? But I'm
on the beach. Regardless of whateverthe world doing, I'm seeing people on

(05:20):
the beach. I mean, we'restill being safe and that. But then
after that, everything was grounded. And when everything was grounded, it gave
me time to sit and reflect becausethe reality is, although I was grateful
and think that God catapulted means toogreat success literally overnight, literally years of

(05:41):
training, but overnight, I neverhad a chance to heal from the hurt.
Though. I think so many peopleget caught up in the success and
they wind up crashing and burning becausethey have residue of their hurt and their
pain and they never had a chance, like Scripture says, to renew their
mind, go get counseling. Soit allowed me time to heal, to

(06:03):
reflect, to be mad, tobe angry because but in a safe place,
because we all were shut down,so it wasn't like, you know,
we have this such a go geta mentality that you don't sit down.
But it's like, well, theworld shut down, so I got
time to heal. Um. Butthen in addition to that, it birthed
my coaching business. I had startedit, but I brought it back and

(06:27):
literally from my cell phone, coachingpeople in the car and just sharing for
the entrepreneur out there. In thefirst quarter of the pandemic, I made
over ten thousand dollars from coaching peoplefrom my phone with just the word of
the Lord and insight. And ofcourse I'm not a licensed therapist. I
let people know that, but Idid go and get a certification from Harvard

(06:53):
Online and setting Psychology and things ofthat sort, you know. So I
wasn't just talking church. You know, we were going through and as we
talked earlier, that's why you hearit in my messages. I know about
um neuro pruning and neuroplasticity in theneurosystem and all that stuff. Um.
So yeah, it helped me toheal, and it birthed out my message,

(07:13):
which is bridging the gap between empowermentand hope. But from a psychological
perspective for all of humanity, I'min a place now where I'm even realizing
I'm not called to just the church. I called all of humanity. And
if you'll hear me, I'll talkto you. I'm not judging you.
Your lifestyle doesn't mean anything to me. I just want to talk to you
and let me speak to you.And what was just see what happens from

(07:35):
there. I love it. Ilove it. I love it like I
was. I wasn't a little jonesin about traveling because I had gotten the
travel bug and you know, goingplaces. So I was jones in a
little bit. Yea that year, were you like itchy about getting out a
few times? Like that first couplemonths I was catching up a rest and

(08:00):
I was relaxing. In fact, that was the time I went back to
school. So, um, Iwas doing that. What what program should
have took a month? I gotdone in like two weeks because I was
just going nothing else to do,right, exactly, got nothing else to
do. I was bored. Um. Then there was a park right next
to my house, so I wouldgo and jogon park. Um. But
after while I did get Auntie. But what I would do was just go

(08:24):
visit friends in a safe environment.I didn't really go anywhere. Honestly,
this year were probably the first yearI leave the country since then. Um,
and that bothering me. Oh mygod. I think I did the
end closer to the end of thepandemic. I think I did go to
Vegas and a few other spots.Um. But again we were under different

(08:45):
protocols then. Yeah. Otherwise Ijust I just sat stilling and just sad,
sad. Yeah. Yeah, talkabout your books, UMU decree protocols
for strategic declarations and then young sirye supposed for becoming a man of character,
commitment and courage to talk about yourbooks. Yes, ma'am, so
Rule by Decree was my second book. It's more of a manual because I'm

(09:11):
technical with terms. I know, technically speaking, a book is not a
book unless it's fifty thousand words. They are minimum. So it's technically a
manual. But most people don't knowthat. But I'm just it's whatever.
But it's it's a prayer manual.And when I was ordained, believe it
or not, I was asked togo to conferences to pray more than I

(09:33):
was to preach. And it justblew my mind. I never forget to
my system I'm sure who you know. Doggy McCoy invited me to one or
two point five to pray on theradio. I'm like, am I anointed
for prayer? I didn't know.I didn't know. And so the Young
Sir book I wrote first, butI'll get to that, and it didn't
go number one. Of course,I was like, man, I put
my all in this. But whenI wrote Rule by Decree, it went

(09:56):
number one on Amazon in less thantwenty four hours, and everyone was getting
it, and I was being invitedto conferences and everyone kept asking me,
how do you command an atmosphere? You know, typically in your conference or
church setting, you'll start with praiseand worship and their job is to break
the fallow ground and you know, get people to transition from whatever their day

(10:16):
to theay activity is into the momentservice. Well, I'm up before the
praise team, so I'm literally dealingwith dead space conversations. And so I've
had to learn how to take myprayers in a declarative, confident, bold
way and command everyone's attention to thenot the stage, but to the presence
of God, and to bring itin to say, hey, this is

(10:39):
what we're doing now, and sothat book is teaching you how to understand
your kingdom constitutional rights. Oftentimes peoplelook at the Bible as a religious tool,
but it's a constitutional right. TheChurch is the educational system of the
kingdom, and so the Bible isour constitution. And so I'm teaching people

(11:01):
how to look at it as lawversus just a fairy tale. And when
you understand it's all and it's yourrights, you don't have to ask permission
for certain things. You then approachthe throne of grace boldly, as scripture
says, and with the level ofconfidence. It's just like with your son.
There's certain things he doesn't necessary needto ask you. He doesn't have

(11:22):
to ask. Hey, mom, cannot be successful as a mother. You
desire for him to do to beso, and I'm quite certain you've cultivated
a lifestyle for him to have success, you know, So I don't need
to ask permission for success. It'shey, Mom, I want to do
this for my success. You comeinto agreement, it's done. It's the

(11:43):
same concept. And so that's whatthat book's about. It's understanding that you're
a king and you're a queening. What the role and responsibility of a king
and queen is if you look atthe cover, I look like an army
general, because as a king, you're also in an army general. Okay,
so I can command war, Ican command things, and I'll say
this and us because I can getto talking. Rule by decree is typically

(12:07):
a term that has a negative connotation. Rulers such as Adolph Hitler and others,
they would abuse their power to makedecisions for their betterment. But the
demise of others by just making adecision and ruling by decree means it doesn't
have to go through legislation. It'sthe strike of opinion. We're done.
But I've taken that concept and flippedto say, in the heat of battle,

(12:28):
in the heat of changing your life, depression, sickness, disease,
whatever, if you want it tobe over, make a decision, right
and that's it. It's so,it's done. And I say it like
this too. If someone breaks inyour house, you're not dropping to your
knees saying please get out, pleaseget out. You're saying get out of
my house because you and I paythis mortgage. This is my property,

(12:52):
this is my constitutional right. I'mnot asking permission for you to leave I'm
telling you to get out. You'reon my terrain. So it's learning how
to take that. Kingdom Army GeneralWya the Crea declared the life you want
to live, and not just withprayer, but even with affirmative statements in
your life. And then Young Sirwas my first book I wrote. I

(13:16):
grew without a father, and sothat book is me basically navigating to rains
of manhood on my own. Andeach chapter is a principle. There's a
principle of love, principle of purpose, principle of leadership, principle of wisdom,
all of that. And there's oneparticular story and that I shared with
my little about my little brother andhow I didn't realize the leadership skills that

(13:37):
were wired in there. I wasat my home an hour away and my
mother called me, or I calledher to just check on her, and
she was getting ready to go somewhere, and she said, but your brother
took the keys or I can't findmy keys. We'll say that I knew
he took the keys because if Ididn't want my mom to leave. Just

(13:58):
being truthful now, and it's Iwould have did the same thing, because
it's like we want my mom,or you know, we're just being kids.
Whatever. I knew he had thekeys, or she was like,
he I can't find the keys.I can't find the keys. I said,
Mom put him on the phone becausehe stood bold face to her and
said I don't have him. Idon't have him. Now, mind drumming
hower away. So I get himon the phone. I said, hey,
give mom the keys before you andI have a major problem. And

(14:22):
instantly he broke on the phone crying. I just so I just didn't.
I said, I understand, Iunderstand, but give her the keys before
you and I have a major problem, all right, Yes sir, Yes,
sir, yes sir. And itwas that moment I said I'm wired
with something. I said, I'mgonna had a dad That showed me I
didn't have this. But it wasthat moment I said this is different.

(14:45):
So what I did was I putall my journey into a book to help
young men navigate manhood, whether youhave a father or not, mentors or
not. Even women can read thebook because it will show you the mindset
of a man. How I wentfrom homelessness to receiving the outstanding Georgia Citizen
award in the in the State ofGeorgia because of my community initiatives and things
of that sort that just I navigated. Man, just yeah, you know,

(15:09):
what, what do you think,um, the biggest and I don't
even know how what word to use, the biggest issue for you not having
a father, because my kids grewup without a father too. Yeah,
it's very difficult, very difficult. We talk about that all the time now
they're there. Yeah, we talkabout that. And that's good that y'all
talk about it now, because it'sfunny. My mother and I are having

(15:31):
more in depth conversations now because ofcourse you're doing what you know to do.
And I think that's the that's thethread there when you get to an
age and you can have that dialoguewith respect and still honor, but have
transparency and realize we're all just tryingto make it out here. You know,
it gives a level of grace. But I know for me, going

(15:52):
going to give it back to youroriginal question about you know, years ago,
I had a hard time figuring outwhat my lane was because historically the
father is supposed to cast vision andyou in the right direction. So although
my mother is very supportive, tothis day, she's so supportive that it's

(16:14):
not hey, go in this direction. This is you get what I'm saying,
Like there's so much freedom so tospeak, like I'm a support right,
right, that's what we do,right, but I don't know which
way to go? So um andit makes so much sense because when you
just look at the way God createdthings, the man is the visionary.
The woman turns the house to thehome so so. And to be honest,

(16:37):
there was a time I would Iwould find myself subconstanting, upset,
like my mom didn't give me this. My mom to give you that,
but that really wasn't her role todo. And so when I realized that,
I took my personal power back andI said, Okay, if I
can't find a mentor, let meread a book. In fact, where
the first books I ever read wasKurt Franklin The Blueprint. I started reading
again, and I'd be getting tolive through his life through the pages.

(17:03):
And then different leaders. I would. I would submit to a ministry,
which some stuff good, some stuffbad. I was doing that trying to
understand manhood. And that's to spitialfather piece comes where I even had to
learn. I was putting too muchpressure on my pastor. I wasn't his
biological son and I'm not his responsibility. But at the same time I also

(17:26):
did too much where I was thenmanipulated in some regards because like, well,
since you're gonna do whatever, we'lldo this, do this. But
I was doing it searching for theapproval and direction of a father. And
so I say my biggest struggle wasrealizing that everything I need I was already
wired with and trusted. And ofcourse that doesn't mean don't read books.

(17:52):
I'm listening to a book now,an audiobook that I listen to them by
our rides to work, called NoMore Mister nice Guy, um. And
it's a phenomenal book that's teaching youhow to take your rightful place as a
man, and how even then youcan become so giving because you don't know
how to say no, because youknow, you didn't learn that from man.

(18:12):
Stuff like that. It's stuff likethat, um. And I'll say
this too. It's funny because Ihave people tell me now, they say,
you seem so much more confident now, And it's because I found out
who I am as a man andwhat my assignment is with or without the
approval of anybody. I'm wired thisway, and I'm still working on things.

(18:36):
You know. Um, that's gonnabe to the day you take your
last breath, right, Yeah, exactly, exactly exactly. We never stopped
growing. We never stopped growing.Yeah. Yeah, So let's talk about
your music. Yeah, a coupleof songs that you have out and now
did you do a full project?Yeah, I'm working on it. I'm

(18:59):
trying. I ain't to get itout this year. And I'm so weird
sometimes because I go with what Isense and field, you know. But
I wrote Prevail actually a few yearsago during the pandemic is when I was
actually able to get with Todd Delaney. We worked virtually together his team and

(19:21):
I and Um, I already hadeverything together for the most part. I
just needed to be mixing, masteredbetter production wise. We've done things of
that sort. U Astley Perryman shoutout to her. She helped me with
some of the arrangements at the partwith the song climax is she did like
she did a little arrangement there forme. Um. But yeah, fun

(19:41):
fact though I wrote that song inthe car in the pandemic, going to
get some limit pepper wings. Iliterally sat in the car and I'll tell
you earlier. How about I writemessage in the car. Yeah, it
comes at the strangest moments and they'reimpactful, but I yield to that when

(20:03):
it happens. It's the strangest thing. That's why in my phone I have
notes all the way the two fourteen, because my level of inspiration hits at
the strangest times. And then Godwill say take that melody, take that,
put it in a book, podcast, whatever. So yeah, I
won't prevail. And the luds areamazing to me. It says, you
know, I'm going through a hardtime during that time too, But it

(20:26):
says they will fight against me.Life can happen and fight against me,
but they shall not prevail against you, referring to God. And as long
as I stay with you, foryou are with me, with you,
I prevail. If I just beginto talk about who God is, your
superior in power, your superior instrength, Mum, I forgot the rest.

(20:47):
But it's like, and with you, I will prevail. And it's
a declaration. Everything in my lifeis declaring. And I understand some stuff
is through prayer and some stuff isthrough a melody, and so I deliver
the every day with you. Iwill prevail. I chanted in my mind
to shut down demonic thoughts. TodayI just keep saying I will prevail.

(21:08):
No matter what comes. There's challengeson work, I will prevail. I
will prevail. And next thing,I know, my faith is rising again.
You know. So I wrote thatsong and released it in God When
I tell you, no major promotion, no music video. It's in thirty
different countries. People are streaming itall the time. Even at the conference,
they're like, we love your song. I'm like, this is yeah

(21:30):
bananas to me. And then Iwrote more of You. More of You
was birthed out of one of myconferences. I do a conference cast strategic
declarations. I haven't done it sincethe pandemic, but we were chanting I
want more of you, I wantmore of you. And I went home
and I wrote a verse to it, and right after doing Prevailed, I
recorded More of You. There's anothersong that I might release soon we'll see,

(21:55):
called Rule by Decree. It wassupposed to come out with the book,
but I just did it. Andthat's more of an up tempo declarative
I mean, very declarative type ofsong Upbeat soon told me. They said,
imagine Michael Jackson and Jude McCallister gettingtogether. Whoa yeah, imagine that

(22:15):
rocker type Judith declaring the word yeah, yes, yeah, she's powerful.
Yeah oh yeah. So those arethose songs that could be streamed everywhere.
But I am trying to finish aproject maybe this year, maybe not supposed
to to film a video for prevail. We'll see. You got to do

(22:37):
that. We need the video,We need the video. So so you
are now building your ministry, andI know your ministry is online, but
let me tell you it's first,it's perfect just where it is. We're
talking about building that ministry. Yeah. So it's called strategy, and I
spell it different. It's st rat dot I dot j e E.

(23:00):
In fact, a couple of yearsago, I went to Bishop Jakes's Pastors
and Leaders event and I went triedto leave, got stuck, and I
said, God, why am Ibeing stuck? So I said, if
I'm gonna be stuck at the otherday, let me go get a really
nice hotel. And so I satin the jacuzzi and God dropped the name
on it, and I was like, why I don't have to leave Atlanta

(23:22):
to get this, but another thingyou get stuck here right right, And
so twoy seventeen, I believe it'sthe first event I had which was called
strategy, a moment of vision andjust kind of casting the idea out Pastor
Ryan who is who was formerly DoctorTrim's executive director. He came, a
few other different people locally came andI was a surprised people showed up.

(23:45):
I was like, and I justcast it vision on what it's about.
And so from then to now beenup and down with it. But now
the last two years every Sunday wemeet virtually and it's been bananas. People
are tuning in from South Africa, people are tuning in from Canada and not
just tuning in, but they're sewing. You know, I'm not asking them

(24:06):
to do anything. Of course,I give them the principle of tid to
offering, etc. But they're comingand they're growing. A lot of my
clients who I coach, they thencome there and they're like, you never
ask us for anything. One ofthe ladies who I'm coaching and pastoring,
in fifteen minutes, I coached herinto getting paid five thousand dollars for a
fifteen minute speech, and I'm like, God, you you're moving. So

(24:29):
let me know there's something here.I'm saying all the same. And so
what I'm working on now, I'mnot going to birth the church. I
have a strategy for what I'm goingto do. I don't want to reveal
just yet, but there will bethere will be a place for ministry,
okay, but I do more thanthat, and so I want a place

(24:51):
that can encompass every expression and fastof who I am. Yeah, because
I'll say it like this. Weknow Jesus was a miracle worker, but
he was a miracle worker and hehad a trade. That's what that's gonna
be. But I'm excited about it. I have a text message group where
texting declarations and prayers every day,Like you would think we had a building
because we always talk. We're alwaystogether. They're like, I'll talk to

(25:15):
you more than my own family, you know, you know, literally we're
doing the same pastoral work. Oneof my members had a car racks it
last night. I'm calling her eleveno'clock at night. Are you okay?
What's going on? How can Isupport you? You know? But she's
in South Carolina like God to wherepeople of miles away. But yet they're
getting the resources they need, thefunding they need. You know, nothing's

(25:38):
missing. And so what I'm goingto start doing quarterly and maybe of course
i'll announce this here. It's unofficial, but probably one of our first official
services will be this November, becauseI was in the group talking to them,
what's best for y'allus. I knowyou're in different countries. I want
to make sure you have time toplan. So November will probably our first
in person service and that's when baptismwill take place. Maybe the case into

(26:00):
the place um. But everything withthe messages, though, it is strategic.
Everything rises and falls with a strategy. You can get you can have
a worship moment, get a propheticword, but the application of it is
a strategy. You know, howdo you renew your mind to believe what
was said? We're talking about thatearlier. With neuroplasticity, it takes time

(26:23):
for your mind to rewire to theprophetic word of the Lord. And I
think that's the component that's missing.Because we shout about it, we run
about it, we brought it downin our notebook. We're happy about it.
But we don't know the science andthe psychology with our human body that
God created for us to apply theprophetic words, you know. So that's

(26:45):
that's my mission, that's my goal, and I'm doing it from a faith
based context, but I'm reaching outto humanity. That's where I am.
Yeah, I mean, you know, he said, Oh, we had
a great time in church. Wewere shouting and lay it out. The
more people was running around. Wellwhat do you preach about? Exactly?

(27:06):
Yeah, but I don't really knowwhat happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you're here exactly right. Don't youjust love the the powerfulness of the
Internet and how you're connecting with peopleall over the world where before that it
would have just been in your regionor if you were traveling, and now

(27:27):
it's so global. It's awesome.Yeah, And there's no there's no excuse
not to have success. There's noexcuse. And so I'm I'm I'm just
excited. I'm just excited because we'reunstoppable, you know. And so even
now in the message that I'll bepreaching to come, it'll be more on

(27:48):
breaking those generational curses and mental blockagesbecause we have the Internet, we have
resources, we have artificial intelligence. There's so much out here that's biblical that
the world is doing. Geneva Siri, our smartphones, all this voice voice
activated stuff we have that's viable inthe beginning. Let there be then there

(28:11):
was there be then or or orlet's it have the statements to create,
declared, establish it, believe it, and it is. We miss it.
We don't got some deep Now that'sa whole other conversation right there,
LEVI, right right right. Tellfolks where they can find your music,
how they can find your Sunday services, and yet looked into your text message

(28:34):
uh declarations all that stuff absolutely,so what you can do, of course,
my music can be found on everyplatform, I iTunes, Spotify,
YouTube, all of that. UmMy messages are all uploaded every Sunday,
excuse me, um on my YouTubechannel. So you can go all the
