Speaker 1 (00:00):
What you know. Alibiyer is Welcome to another episode of
Pretty Lies and Alibis.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm Jigi.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
It's Wednesday, December third, another very quick episode, so let's
jump in. There were some photos that were shown on screen.
I'm going to edit out the really gory photos which
showed some of the things clearly he was using to
clean up with that have very graphic photos of blood.
I know it's a true crime podcast, but at the

(00:26):
same time, those things can kind of.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Get your channel flagged.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
And I don't need to lose my YouTube channel because
I would lose this podcast that the Java you Love
hinges on keeping a YouTube channel going, so I'm going
to play it safe. When we got back from lunch,
the insurance agent was on cross and he said that
Brian first applied for the policies and then Anna applied
after Brian was being consistently denied due to that pending

(00:50):
federal case. The witness that he probably recommended Anna applied
because of this issue. The next witness David Gould. He's
a forensic scientist with the Massachusetts State Police. He works
in the crime lab. He reported with a trainee to
the Cohaset Police Department on January nights to process the Volvo.
He took photographs of the inside. In the outside of

(01:11):
the car, he said overall outside the car was clean.
On the inside there were just miscellaneous items scattered. He
found five presumptive positive test results from swabbing red brown
stains for the possibility it was blood. There were red
brown stains on the driver and passenger side visors. They
show photos of those stains. He found two gloves on

(01:34):
the passenger side floor, two in the passenger door pocket.
Those were in a zip block, and then sixteen gloves
in the center console as well as some band aids.
If you guys hear purring, my cat is in my
lap and very close to the mic. That afternoon, he
did a blood screening test to see if anything from
the presumptive tested positive. It doesn't confirm this actually blood,

(01:59):
but a color test.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Can indicate additional testing would be needed.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
He says that cauliflower and beans can also test positive
for blood due to their chemical makeup.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So there were five positive results.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
The driver's side seat control, the second row passenger side
door mat, the backside of the third rowe passenger side seat,
and he said that seat was folded down. Also a
second row passenger side floor mat, and then two areas
on the rear trunk mat. He went back to the
lab to submit that evidence. He also analyzed items from

(02:36):
the dumpster and they go through all the bags in
what they had. The first bag had green boots, a
black jacket with red brown stains, and there was a
bracelet in the pocket, a black purse, a black wallet,
a pair of headphones, a pair of socks, and then
a pair of Voltswagon keys. In the second bag there

(02:57):
were two towels with red brown stains, tissue with stains,
tape with red brown stained gauze, and wipes. The third
bag there was a white bathrobe with red brown stains.
In another bag there were two pairs of slippers, one
of which was a dark gray pair which had some
trace evidence that looked to be hair, which also had

(03:19):
red brown stains. There was a watch, loose hairs with
red brown stains, wipes, and a sponge with a wipe
stuffed into it. Another bag had part of a rug
with red brown stains, as well as a TIEVEX suit.
In another bag there was a hand towel as well
as more pieces of a rug with similar red brown staining,

(03:40):
plus a white TIEVEX suit and safety goggles. In another bag,
there was a large tarp that was taped together. There
were other items in these bags, but they didn't specifically
go through them. He said there was also a parent
tissue discovered within the garbage, meaning material that potentially had
human skin on it. There were hydrogen peroxide and bags

(04:02):
from lows. In another trash bag, there was a hammer,
wire snips, a hatchet, and a hacksaw that had red
brown stains. They bring in evidence bags, but they don't
open them later on. The judge says that those items
would go back for deliberations, and I'm not sure if
they might come in when whoever did the DNA testing

(04:23):
on those items testifies on cross on cross, the defense asked,
is it possible some of this evidence that was taken
out of the dumpster had first been in a trash
compactor and then put in the dumpster and the witness
doesn't know. When you're handling the evidence, you take care
to not let things touch so there's no cross contamination
in The witness says yes, in collecting this evidence, is

(04:46):
it fair to say there is no way to know
before your exam began if anything touched, he says, correct.
The defense asked if enclosed items can be cross contaminated.
The witness said, it's possible. If there's hairs on the slippers,
it could be they were transferred and not originally there. Yes,
you can't say how any of the red brown stains

(05:08):
came to be on these items. No, And the last
question by the defense, it could be that some stains
weren't originally on some items at the time it was
placed in the bag, and the witness says that's correct.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
That was it for testimony today. One issue that the.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Judge brought up to both sides is whether or not
to let the jury know that Brian pleaded guilty to
those charges of misleading police as well as disposing of
Anna's body. The defense is working on a reply to that,
so there was no answer today. Don't forget tomorrow nine
am sharp, you can come watch Live with the Alibiers.
We've had a great group in there every day, chatting

(05:46):
in the mods, rocking it all day every day, so
come join us. That is it for today. I hope
you guys have a good rest of your evening and
we will see you soon.
