Speaker 1 (00:00):
What you know, Alibier's Welcome to another episode of Pretty
Lies and Alibis. I'm Gigi, good to have you here.
It's Monday, September twenty ninth. Hope you guys are having
a good Monday so far. I just uploaded some bodycam
footage of Charlie at the Leon County Jail where the
nurse was going to give him some meds and make
sure he was swallowing his medication and not cheeking it
(00:22):
as inmates sometimes do, and apparently open the door and
it got his big toe langy and he was none
too happy. Some of the footage is blacked out, you
can still hear audio, and that's because eventually he's taken
to the medical unit to have his toe looked at.
I did edit out some things on this video, as
far as when there was no video playing and it's
(00:43):
just door slamming or loud radio chatter, so it is
a bit shorter than the actual footage I got, but
still everything that involved Charlie was speaking or video is
on there, so go check it out. I will link
it in the description of this episode. And with that footage,
I also got Charlie's inmate file and the event log
and guardian logs, which is essentially little notes they make
(01:06):
when things are requested or talked about with Charlie. While
he was at the jail, It's not very long, to
be honest, because he was in protective custody. He spent
a lot of time sleeping, pacing on his tablet, and
it gets very repetitive with showers and getting out to
have wreck time and things like that. So I just
really dug through and got the meat of anything that
(01:27):
was of substance. So on his inmate file, Harvey is
listed as is next of ken. He was booked into
the Leon County Jail back to his old stomping grounds
on August sixteenth, in preparation for Donna's trial, which he
never took the stand, so it was just a little
field trip. What property did he come with? When pair
of shoes, a pair of blue pants, socks, brown underwear,
(01:50):
and a white T shirt. They list people that Charlie
needed to be separated from, and obviously all of the
co conspirators in this case, but they also had three
other min listed as those who needed to be separated
from Charlie while he was there. Once he arrived at
the Leon County Jail. What was he given? He was
given a clean inmate uniform, inmate shoes, a blanket, sheets
(02:14):
and a pillowcase, towel and a washcloth, clean underwear, a
pillow and mattress, a cup, a spark, toothpaste, toothbrush, a comb,
and soap. He was given a short mental health screening
form and did not receive a tablet in earbuds due
to the fact he was in protective custody, and it
had in the notes that he could be housed in
(02:36):
general population once he is removed from protective custody. I
didn't see specifically in here that he was. In the report,
it says that two officers escorted in adelssoon from the
pod to Unit one to make a call from the
agency landline. He was then escorted back to the pod
without any incident. It said it shall be noted that
(02:56):
due to his classification status, no inmates were out of
their cells in the open pod during his transport to
and from the unit. They log when he has showers,
when he's on the rec deck, when he has taken
meds and food, and that is really a lot of
this report. On August seventeenth, there was an interview schedule
with a deputy in Charlie's cell. They do not say
(03:16):
what it was for. They documented the checks they did
on him while he was in his cell and things
observed where things like appears asleep, appears awake, standing or
pacing in the day room on the tablet, quiet reading
and you know there's going to be some talking because
it's Charlie Adelson watching TV. At one point he handed
(03:37):
them a bubble sheet to be sent with the mail.
They note when he was getting canteen and even asking
for some toilet paper. I saw at one point one
of the earlier times he got breakfast was four thirty
one am. He did request a tablet to contact his attorney,
and at one point it says that the inmate got
on the intercom and he demanded that he see a
(03:58):
lieutenant over not having tablet. It says I advised him
of the policy changes and he refused to accept them,
stating that a lieutenant on a previous shift advised him
he would receive a tablet. Inmate then threatened to kick
on the door in order to get a lieutenant down here.
I advised him if he kicked the door, it would
impress no urgency on me and he could make his
(04:20):
necessary phone calls. When he came out for his time,
Inmate returned to his bunk without any incident. An hour
after this, he was out of his cell for a
shower and to exercise. Later on, Charlie wants to speak
with the manager about not receiving a tablet. It says
he has not accepted my explanation of policy and has
stated he wants to speak with a lieutenant in regards
(04:42):
to receiving a tablet. Inmate stated he feels he's being
treated unjustly because of his denial of counsel to a
prior trial, and he will make sure the judge is
aware of the circumstances, and thirty minutes later Charlie got
a tablet. Charlie did have an attorney visit on the
secure curist monitor that is probably in more of a
(05:03):
public area, although I'm sure he was by himself, but
you get on a phone and you can see somebody
on the video. Charlie advised he could not hear his
attorney and tried using both phones with no luck. An
officer and the front lobby tried to contact securists, which
is one of the jail apps that they use to
make phone calls video calls on the tablets or in
(05:24):
these common areas. They did try to make secure USTs
aware of the issue, with no answer. He was offered
to go to medical to have the video visit, but
the facility couldn't get in touch with securists to make
that switch. I guess from the unit he was into
the medical unit. He did later have his visit with
his attorney successfully. August twentieth, it says inmate continues to
(05:46):
have his blanket draped over his bunk, and once I
hit on the cell door, he becomes enraged and he
quotes Charlie, who calls him a bunch of obscene and
derogatory names that I will not repeat. In another entry
that same day, the inmate is out of his cell
and he placed a soup at another cell door. I
asked him why he was placing his suit beside the
(06:07):
cell door, and Charlie said I promised him something because
he let me use his tablet to order my canteen
when I came back here. Other logs show him on
the rec deck, listening to music or talking on the tablet.
On August twenty first, at eleven fifty one am, he
was out of his cell for a contact visit. He
returned back to his cell at one sixteen pm. They
(06:28):
did not list who that contact visit was. From August
twenty fourth, while conducting around, Inmate Adelson approached his cell door.
He advised me his slide, which are the flip flops
you get, were ripping and he needed some new ones
due to him not wanting to see his lawyers on Tuesday.
Like that, I advised Adelson that this is in fact
a weekend day in the warehouse is closed, but I
(06:51):
would advise my unit supervisor, and also he needs to
put in a request to laundry for a new pair.
August twenty fifth, it says inmate is currently under protective
custody status, but he does not need to come out
at the same time as in Rivera. Y'all can you
imagine how awkward it would be for the two of
them to pass each other in the hall. I mean,
I paid to see it, but the Leon County Jail
(07:13):
has to play it safe and not let that happen.
Charlie again requests new slides, and he gets those a
few hours later. On August twenty eighth. He had a
visit with his attorney. August thirty first, at eleven thirty am.
This is the footage that I have uploaded to YouTube. Again,
I'll link it in the description, but this is when
his big toe, Langie was run over by the cell door.
(07:37):
Charlie says he was barefoot because they don't issue shoes,
but he did have slides on and said his toe
was hanging out. September first, Charlie asked if he could
refuse his meds, and the officer explained that he could.
When the nurse arrived a little later. Charlie did take
his meds but said he did not want any more.
After this med pass. He said he has had stomach
(07:58):
aultcers in the past, and the nurse handed him a
sick call paper. A few hours later, Charlie said he
was being targeted or his phone was tapped because his
WiFi just stopped working and everybody else was still on.
I guess he's got a little residual PTSD from those
prior wire taps. That evening, he was out of his
(08:18):
cell for a securest video visit. September fourth. This is
in the note is sad inmate Adelson was let out
for his twenty minutes. Adelson had his cell and compliance
when told after stepping out of the cell, he asked
for toilet paper and the hair clippers. Inmate Adelson was
trying to make small talk with me about the shower
running NonStop for three days. I replied, Yeah, that happens
(08:41):
time to time because of how many people use it,
so it wears out over time, plus the age of
the gel, in which he laughed, saying like a white
noise from the spa. The officer then went to get
toilet paper and hair clippers for Charlie. He said thank
you and went off to give himself a little hair
c He was released from the Leon County Jail on
(09:03):
September tenth. The inmate file itself is just a lot
of formalities. It's the charges he was convicted of. Charlie's
inmate file really hasn't changed much from the last time
I saw it. It obviously has the charges he's been
convicted of. He's not bondable, obviously not going to the
spot to hear the white noise in person, and the
(09:25):
mugshot that they took once he got back to Leon County.
So not a whole lot there but little interesting nuggets.
You know, we're all petty like that, and I'm here
to bring it to you. That is it for this episode.
Hope you guys have a good arrest of your evening
and we will see you soon
