Speaker 1 (00:00):
What you know, alibiers. Welcome to another episode of Pretty
Lives and Alibis. I'm Jigi. Good to have you here.
It's Wednesday, December seventeenth. I found a few new updates
in the Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer murders and we're
going to get to those, but first just want to
let you know. According to the LA Superior Court website,
Nick has a hearing schedule for eight thirty am Pacific

(00:22):
time today. That would be eleven thirty am Eastern. If
there is a live stream, I will carry it on
the YouTube channel. So don't forget to subscribe and click
notifications if you want to know when I post new
content or when I go live. So we're learning more
about what led to the discovery of Rob Reiner and
his wife Michelle's bodies. In a timeline of when investigators

(00:44):
believe they were killed, Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hockman
said they believe Rob and Michelle were killed approximately in
the early morning hours of December fourteenth, which was Sunday.
Other outlets are saying about twelve hours before their bodies
were discovered a round three point thirty pm on Sunday.
There's a video of Nick walking with a backpack past

(01:05):
a gas station near his parents' home shortly after midnight
on Sunday. So what led to the discovery of their bodies.
A massage therapist arrived at the home for a scheduled
appointment and was unable to get inside the gate. The
messeuse called Robin Michelle's daughter, Rommy, who lives across the street,
for her help, and she and her roommate walked over.

(01:27):
Rommy was able to get the door open and found
her father dead before fleeing the home. Her roommate called
nine to one one Now. Rommy did not see her
mother's body, and paramedics broke the news to her that
her mother was also deceased. Authorities believe Robin Michelle had
been dead for hours due to the fact that their
bodies were in a state of rigor mortis. Police interviewed

(01:49):
Rommy on scene, and this is when she told them
that Nick was dangerous and he should be considered a suspect.
After yesterday's court hearing didn't happen due to the fact
he had not been clear medically. His attorney, Alan Jackson,
was seen going to the Reiner Holme now in an
interview with MPR that Rob and Nick gave while promoting
their film Being Charlie, which is Nick's only listed credit

(02:12):
by the way, Nick and Rob were asked if they
would work together again. Nick said, I think for now
it's best for me at least to be sort of independent.
That's not to say I didn't have an amazing experience.
Rob said he was the heart and soul of the film,
and anytime I would get an opportunity to work with him,
I would do it. But I do understand him wanting

(02:33):
to forge his own way. I do know what that's about.
I went through it, and he's brilliant and talented and
he's going to figure out his path. In another interview
on a podcast with Paul mccurio, Nick was asked why
he started using drugs in the first place. Nick, who
was twenty two at the time, said, I had no
identity and I had no passions. And I think the

(02:56):
reason I had no identity was because I have a
famous dad and a fam his grandpa, and that fame
sort of informs who you are, so I wanted to
edge out my own identity with a more rebellious, angry,
drug addicted sort of persona. He also said I had
nothing to fill my time and I had nothing to
look forward to. Nick told the host that after putting

(03:17):
out the film, it was hard to see the public's
opinion that he was a spoiled, white, rich kid. Rob
spoke up and said, I had to talk to him
about this. Listen. I know what it's like to be
the son of and to have people assume certain things
about you, and it's very, very difficult. A family friend
has spoken out and said Rob and Michelle did everything
for Nick, every treatment program, therapy sessions and put aside

(03:41):
their lives to save Nick's repeatedly. They also said they
had never known a family so dedicated to a child,
and to have it end this way is awful. Another
family friend, who has known Nick since he was born,
told The Daily Mail that Nick threw terrifying tantrums as
a child. The friend said a lot of their fire
had to do with him just doing something self destructive

(04:03):
and fighting back when they tried to help him. It
did get physical sometimes, I'm not talking about punches, but
restraining him. I was over there and it must have
been in the early two thousands, because he was just
about eleven and he was throwing the biggest tantrum and
Rob just had him in a bear hug to restrain him.
The tantrum was over nothing, but he had so much

(04:23):
anger in his eyes. It was terrifying, really, and this
happened a lot. He never outgrew it. He had tantrums
in his twenties. He says. As an adult, Nick always
stunk of weed and sweat. The friend said he was
a mess. I was ever. One time, and this had
to be two or three years ago. Nick came into
the kitchen clearly high on something, grabbed some stuff from

(04:46):
the fridge. I said hello, and he just grunted. His
mom said, aren't you going to be more polite? And
Nick just grunted again and walked out. They had no
control over him. When he was young or when he
got older. He was always rude, and Rob and Michelle
were so protective of all their kids, but especially Nick.
He was the one who gave them the most trouble.

(05:06):
There were a lot of sleepless nights because of him,
the drug use, the mental spirals. He was unwell a
lot of the time, and they were doing whatever they
could to hold it together for him, to anchor him.
He just had so many problems. He was so troubled.
The other siblings resented him because who got the most
attention Nick? Who took all their energy Nick? And who

(05:29):
did they baby the most? Nick? He would relapse and
they would give him a place to stay, He'd move
out and move back in. They never got rid of
anything because he would leave, and then they knew he
would come back, either when he ran out of money
or when things just got too tough out there, he'd
be back back. In twenty sixteen, Rob was on Entertainment
Tonight and was asked if Nick's passed would reflect poorly

(05:53):
on him personally and his career. Rob said that never
crossed my mind. He's my son, I love him, It
doesn't He's more important than anything that could happen to me.
I care more about him and Jake and romy and
my family. They're the most important, so that doesn't factor in.
On a side note, Robin's wife, Michelle had dinner plans

(06:13):
with the Obamas for Sunday night. So that's the latest
news this morning. Again, keep your eye out on my
socials or my YouTube channel where the hearings set for
eleven thirty Eastern Standard time. Again, I will run that
if there's a stream. That is it for now. I
hope you guys have a good arrest of your morning
and we will see us soon
