one of their events Rise and Fall, and we welcome
on the show. How are you doing today?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Going on? How you doing? I'm doing good?
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Cool, doing good? Man? I hope I I got everything
in the intro.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yeah, I know, yeah, you did it pretty much. Yeah,
I don't have to apologize. I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
This might be the lowest viewed episode. I'm not interesting guy,
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yah, Man, let's let's dig in. Let's let's let's find
out what you're thinking. Man, I mean, yeah, I'm sure
this is Is this one of your first podcast or
first ever?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah? Pretty much for something else. I don't know whey
they ever ended up.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
But okay, something I don't know. But well, I'm gonna
try and get this out tomorrow because we want to
promote your match, of course, and definitely and welcome to
the show. My question for you is professional wrestling. So
when you first discover it, how did you feel like
you are going to be able to, you know, step
(01:57):
in the ring and do the training, and how did
it change your life.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
I've been watching wrestling since before I could even remember.
I don't know even what first match I saw. I
just like fell in love with at a very young age.
I didn't think I was something I was even able
to do until like more recently, Like I just kind
of took a chance on it because I felt like it,
you know, and it's kind of it's coming to me
naturally a little bit as I get through the ropes.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I don't know, for sure, and you you definitely had
gotten in shape prior to the training, right you're talking
about Yeah, how did how did you find out you
were able to push yourself to those limits?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
I don't know, just I was just very skinny and
I didn't like the way I looked.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
So I kind of just started.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Working out and people started complimenting a little bit, and
so I kind of just like, damn, maybe I could
I could try this out. Maybe I've I've got a
look or whatever whatever the hell they call it. Also,
my my stuff, my stuff helps me.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
So yes, yeah, we'll get to that in a minute.
When you had this big debut match Freelance vestingcadmy show,
how nervous are you? You're in this big picture invitation?
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Yeah, describe your experience and like, how did you prepare
to get in that ring for the first time? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Well, obviously, you know, just being I try to be
at the academy as much as I possibly can, like
just on training those That's what got me.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Prepared for the match.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
But there's nothing can prepare you for walking out in
front of just like people, it was crat. I would
stay a cameras in the back, like you just see
me like a lunatic click jumping up and down as
my music played, like my heart was racing out of
my chest.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
But it's kind of just one of those things.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Once you walk through the curtain, it's just like a
completely like the nerves turn into like an energy that
you use.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
To help yourself perform. It's kind of a hard thing
to explain with right.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Definitely, I got you and I can only imagine you know,
who helped you ge get there. We have Isaiah's Alaskaz.
You know, you had the rest of the trainees at
the freelance rest. They carry GPA is pretty prominent there.
So how much did they influence you?
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Oh my god, Isaiah, this is incredible.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
I don't know if he wants me to talk about
it because he's kind of he plays like a different character,
but yeah, he's He's been incredible. Kylie Ray has been incredible,
Jeff even like a lot of the people like you know,
Davy Dan, Alfonso Gonzales, coulda Hernandez, They're.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
They're all, they're all.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Just incredible, just getting advice on just like what to do.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
And kind of like helping the newer people like figure
this out with them for sure.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
That's that's that's amazing that you have that experience and
you know before even uh did you start doing these
little vignyats or videos? Is that before your debut or
did I come later on? Uh?
Speaker 3 (04:52):
The firston I filmed was like as I filmed one
for each of my matches, just because it's something.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
I want to kind of just work on my character.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
And kind of I don't know, I've been told it
too long, but I'm trying to kind of.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, maybe we need to have a director's cut or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
And that's great that people to get familiar with you,
because you know what we saw you on that poster.
I had to say, like you're like, who's this guy?
You know? We just and that's not just you that
or anything personal. It's like everybody that you know that's
that's coming from the academy. We weren't we the fans,
you know, the people who watch it are not familiar
(05:27):
with you. So how cool is that to just add
that dimension to you?
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh yeah, it's very very cool.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
That's kind of like I'm more like a character guy
when it comes to wrestling, So I just I really
do enjoy this, Like filming stuff, and like, I.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Don't know, I don't know how people find it funny.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
But like, so this stuff I'll like do and I
don't know, I just the character aspect more than like
the wrestling aspect. But obviously I'm trying to get put
at both of them at the same time.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
It's extremely hard.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah, I know you were approached about the Big Picture
in and then from there it was the you were
supposed to do this big well the annual Rumble, right,
the Rumble Freelance Trumble match, and then you were prepping
for that. Then article I.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Was supposed to be I was supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, people got to just check that stuff out and
and you know, it's fun. It's fun. No, it's different.
I I appreciate it, you know, and I dig that stuff.
You know. It gives me more stuff to work with
when you know, we're doing a podcast and everything like that.
And so, uh, now you had the Big Picture Invitational, right,
(06:36):
and now you were in the ring with Nick Cotis
as your opponent, and how did you feel you beard
against him?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I felt like I was about to wring when he's
I had my stuff and he smacked it in my face.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
That is that a disqualification.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
I guess I'm the one that agisted it, so it's
kind of my fault it, right, I had him beat
and champion geez.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
And then you had family and friends and attendance that
had to watch that, right, Yeah? I had my mom?
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, okay, Joy.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
She really enjoyed watching me get dumped on my head.
Oh no, kind of sure.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
So yeah, and so now let's let's talk about the stuff.
You won't disclose exactly what it is. Yeah, they describe
it as performance enhancing if you know what that is, right,
And obviously, and in the general world of combat sports
other sports, this is not allowed. But somehow in professional wrestling,
(07:34):
we don't. We don't have a specific uh you know,
you know what I'm talking about, right, We don't have
a specific you know, category for this, right or or.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Every every day, So it's not performance enhancing.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
The only thing is like I can't, like my doctor
told me, I can't like disclose it because he might
go to not he might go to jail, but not
not for the reasons.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
You're thinking, like it's just like one of those things
where like if there's like regulations within the state, and
I can't explain what's in Okay, yeah, there's nothing I
legal in here, I promise.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
You, all right, all right, we'll take your word for it.
You know, I had, I had to bring it up.
And like I said, professional rustling doesn't really falling into
categories you know of other sports or you know, I
mean the actual you know, athletic or you know regulations.
So what are you trying to say?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
That's what are you trying to say right now?
Speaker 1 (08:32):
You know, just you know, hey, I just you know,
trying to you know, trying to trying to take it
from that perspective, you know what I mean? Right, all right? Okay,
So moving past that, your music hits described a feeling
going through your body before your match. That's a unique
entrance theme you have as well.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Once again, a very long build up. They made this
little intro for me and didn't really kick in with
the fans. So now it's just like forty seconds of
silence from the crowd before I come out.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
But I really like that song. It was a song
that I've just always liked for years. I would use
that song as I was like working out. Okay, it's
just now I don't listen to it at all.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I like to save it for the shows because then
it gets me really hyped up when I hear it.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
But yeah, for sure, I liked The fans also get
hyped as well. You know.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I feel like you should be hanging out little bottles
of stuff before the match and then they'll put down
their beer and they'll start drinking this stuff. Right, that's true.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Joy, I can't. I can't let this formula get out there. Yeah,
I can't, let.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
You know what I mean, that's true. I feel like
you need to do that. You need to just like
hand on these little cups and everybody starts drinking when
you come through.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah, I was a little taste testing. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, yeah, it doesn't happens to be the authentic you know.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Oh yes, it's not gonna be authentic.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Now. So what are your thoughts on your opponents and
this Darren Corbin academy? Now he has his own academy.
What the what the heck is going on here? Darren
Corbin is kind of meddling in where he shouldn't be
meddling with you guys, And so your other opponents, do
you find that they will be strong. Do you have
(10:25):
any weaknesses you can exploit or how do you feel
about them?
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yeah, this is an interesting, interesting match because Darren Corbyn
is obviously he's.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
A former what is he a former? What do you
call it?
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Triple crown? He's only a crown champion in finance instrets.
I'm excited to get in there with him. That's good,
good experience for me. As far as the other people
like Megan Lela has been wrestling for a while now, Trentgal.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Just got into it. C J Martin just got into
it well.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
And then the Tornado Kid is obviously in there too,
and I don't know what his deal is with me,
but uh, I'm very I'm very excited just because it's
a very it's a it's a very odd mix of people,
I feel like. And I think the thing is Darren
Corgan is trying to test the waters see what the
academy is is like right now. So he's he's gonna
(11:16):
learn that we've we've been working pretty hard. That's what
he's trying to trying to think he's gonna get an
easy win on us.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
I don't know for sure. And and then zupa Gardy
the Tornado Kid. He won the last scramble that you
were involved in with him as well, so describe him
in particular as opponent. This guy is like a buzz saw. Uh.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Literally, he's crazy. He's he's insane. I don't think there's
if you have a conversation with this guy, it is
it is something. He actually wants to get in the
ring with you.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I think he telling me that, you know, I want to.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
I love.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
But as far as I go, but no, I mean,
he's just touch a dynamic personality. And then when he
gets in the ring, like, how do you handle a
guy like that? There's no way you can train for
someone like that. He is just a complete you know
what I mean.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
The ring He's absolutely the most hyper individual I've ever
I've ever.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Come across in my life.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, I still.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yet, I don't want to. I don't want to find
out what it feels like, it looks something.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Oh yeah, that that move, that's that's crazy. Yeah, that
the one where you just keeps spinning around.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
And I think the last yew he threw save them
to age into the referee.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Geez yeah wow, yeah crazy. I just saw that one.
I was like from back in September, I believe, right.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Oh no, that was the last last last one, yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, yeah, not the one you were in with him,
right for sure. So so we hadn't seen you in
about a few months, not since the not since the
September in freelance, So talk about what you did during
that that time. We haven't seen you in performing.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I just been training getting right for the next the
next few match. I had a show in November. I
teamed with the Tornado Kid for all he was and
that was you know, I once again got beat up
and he figured it out how to how to get the.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
The win there.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
But yeah, I've just really been training, just trying to
get get better with each and every rep.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Definitely, you and the thunder Kid took on Alfredo Albater
and yeah, that was that was a fun one. I
saw some some nice highlights from that one. I felt
like you guys had the crowd going, like how was
that working a different crowd? But it was the first
time outside of Chicago or freelance, right, yeah, it interesting.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
It was It was like, I don't think it was
like someone's birthday or what it was, but yeah, it was.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
It was interesting. They we didn't know, like it felt
like they really liked me and the Tornado Kid for
some reason even though.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
So it's kind of cool for sure, and hopefully you'll
have a return match there in the future. That's a
that's a fun venue as well.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah, yeah, very cool, very cool building.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
And then you know when you went entered uh in
Freelance Wrestling the Voice, So was that that? Agree? That
was one of your big matches at Logan Square where
you're gonna be on this main show. You're gonna open
up the show for for the Voice, Like how important
was that match for you?
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah? This is my what is it my third?
Speaker 3 (14:25):
My third scrabble match, the first the first time I
was out around the main show was like the Curby
show back.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
In July, right, Yeah, I don't want it? Does it?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
HiT's different that main the main crowd. The Pretty Show
is awesome too because you open up that night. But yeah,
there's something about like right before me, they start to
show you know this when you're there, like they'll like
do that thing where they'll just get everybody going.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Yeah, they go.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Right into that first match, and it's just like the
crowd is so crazy, it's so awesome.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
I'm so excited. I'm so excited for Saturday.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah yeah, different energy. Oh yeah. First first, sure, the
logos Quortatorium is and they had so much great wrestling there,
you know, outside of freelance. But yeah, when the freelance
crowd comes, it's it's definitely something special and you guys
just want to make sure you deliver the best match possible.
I know you guys get humped up. Yeah, but that's great,
(15:18):
and it's it's it's cool scene like how you came
from that smaller venue which was the Academy and now
you're doing the the the auditorium, right, It's just what's up?
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (15:31):
I know, I know you're not but what who got
your kicked out? I don't know. I won't I won't comment.
I know, I know, I know, but uh, you know
what about outside of freelance wrestling? You know you were
at h W What wrestlers outside of freelance are on
(15:53):
your radar right now? Like I would have a great
match with this guy or this girl, you know?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Oh wow, man, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
If I'm not really like insanely familiar with the outside senior,
I know that there's certain people that will pass through that,
like i've I would like enjoy Westling, but there's that
the Wrestle of League champion Alfredo, Yes, Melee is I
like I like his, I like him.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Shack Jordan comes through freelance.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Sometimes those are some of the more interesting names like
I think of right now.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Okay, who was the first one again?
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Alfredo? I don't know his last name. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
I know who you're talking Alfredo, not not the yeah, yes,
yes he is, and his last name kind of changes
the paying what promotion he's part of?
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Who's the champion for wrestler? He was?
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Yes, yeah, yes, I know. I have another tip of
my I know exactly. I'll probably updated later on, but yeah,
Alfredo would be a match for sure. And then anybody
outside of the anybody in the business right now you
look up to, like, oh, you know this guy, even
(17:08):
if you haven't met him or not, like maybe someone
you watch on TV or someone that's caught your attention
like I'd like to be where they're at or anything
like that.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I don't want to say I know enough.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
My my favorite has always been John Cena, just who
I would always go to. That's who I always say,
I know he's not really wrestling anybody. He's gonna come
back next year. But that's I might go to. That's
the reason why I like do this. He's always better
who I look up to.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Yeah, well he has one year left, so he makes
it a good one. And and then when you when
you had started professional wrestling training, you know, talk about
some obstacles you had to overcome, and would you have
any advice for any professional wrestling trainees out there that
want to make it?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah, you gotta. You gotta commit.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Like there's been like so many times I've seen, like
even for myself, just like doing like something and like
you just completely freeze or whatever.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
You just got to commit to what you do. You gotta.
It's the only way you're gonna get better at it.
Like you can't just like give up.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Right, That's it's so like cliche and corny, but like
we're really like is I'm learning there like in life
that like you can really do anything you put your
mind to as long as you like never give up.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
I know it sounds super corny, but it's true.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Like just keep working, keep working, and you'll you'll get
you'll get to where you want to be.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
I truly believe that.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Definitely. Man, well, hey, I think you've you're kind of
a testament to that so far. And I know you
want to wrestle more matches, So is there is there
like a number or not even just say number, but
like you want do you want like to be wrestling
every weekend next year?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
And I'm gonna I'm gonna try it. I'm kind of
like in like a weird situation. I'm available every weekend.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Okay, well yeah, I'm trying.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I'm trying to branch out. I definitely am. I think
I that's the next step for me. It's just getting
around to as like many shows as I can.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, yes, for sure, for sure. And uh, if everybody
hasn't been to the freelance wrestling shows, tell describe, like
right now, sell them on it. Why should they come
out this Saturday night? It really.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
It's it's so insane.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
There's like an energy in the building, Like there's there's
certain times where you can literally feel the floor.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Shake just like from excitement. Like even the crowd is
such a good mix.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
It's like fifty percent like hardcore wrestling fans that come
there to watch the wrestling. And next there's a better
fifty percent that it's just like they're all drinking and
they're just trying to find something to do for the night,
and they come across this and they're.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Like, they're so amazing, Like they just they react to everything.
It's it's such a great crowd. Really, you're when you're
when you're in the wrestling or not. Like freelance shows
are for they're for everybody. They're just such a good time.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Definitely. I have a buddy of mine we're gonna go. Well,
it's his first time. I'm a veteran. I've been going
for the past couple of years, so we're excited to
check it out. And and for you, anybody wants to
follow you, go ahead RJ and tell him how to
follow you on the social media platform and and anything
else you'd like to like to put out there.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Okay, I don't know my Twitter is.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Okay, my Twitter is at the RJ No no no, no, sorry,
My Twitter is just RJ sol seven. And then my
Instagram is at d RJ so. And then as far
as like a message be ready for Saturday. I'm getting
my first win.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
All right, sounds good, RJ. So, everybody on p W report.
Make sure to check it out. This Saturday night, Free
Lance Restling presents Prey Lude. It's going to be part
of the Darren Corbyn Darren Corman Academy invitation. He's gonna
be in there with five other tough opponents, so we
(21:03):
can't wait. It's a six person scramble and uh yeah,
we're excited to see what you have in store for
us this Saturday night. I appreciate you, thank you, san
oh bro and eight and before you go, can you
just do a quick shout out for p W. I'm
gonna stop this recording and then start a new recording.
Is that cool?
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (21:24):
All right
