Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, Shawn Knight here, we're Pro Wrestling and Force a
podcast and right now I want to introduce my special
guest co host Danielle Lerson. We're having her on pretty
regularly now and we are going to be talking about
Chicago Style Wrestling, recapping CSW, Love Death and Wrestling, which
has happened this past Friday, this past weekend in Elmwood Park, Illinois.
Also will rewind in a week before that, I talk
(00:23):
about Uprising Women's Athletes Uprising four, which happened in LaSalle
back on December sixth, and we'll also take a look
at some of the results from Dreamwave Wrestling as well
as Good as Gold on December seventh. And right now
we're joined by Danielle. How are you doing? Welcome on
the Podcasting to be definitely well, let's talk about CSW.
(00:47):
What a card that was put together by the company
that we love in CSW, by the bookers, the promotion,
and what a show that was. And you happen to
still be there. I know you weren't playing on showing up,
but you were there and it was the biggest, baddest
CSW card ever. What were your thoughts when you looked
(01:09):
at the card.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
When I saw some of these matches, I knew they
were hard hitters. You had obviously Solomon Chuku with versus
B Boy versus Grigal Logo, which those are big bet
the guys who are good at hard hitting. You had
obviously hard hitters, and Mac Ardonah versus Conenchan for that
(01:33):
the CSW titles. So there was a lot of great
matches on the card, and you're right to me, it
was the biggest card that they've had in a while.
So it was very and it was very excited to
actually be there, especially since I wasn't planning on being
there in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, when you look at the guests that were there,
like the restlers they brought in Kylie Ray never seen
her in CSW at least I've never seen her in
the CSW. Yeah, Hollywood, Haley j making her CSWWT, Matt
Cardona making his CSW debut, you had B Boy, new
Age Punisher, he made his debut, and of course returning
(02:09):
to CSW Ringo Loco. So it was just a fantastic night.
And you know what I also noticed is that the
talent they brought in enhanced the talent that was there. Like,
it didn't feel like, oh, they were just neglecting the
wrestlers who have made CSW prominent where it is today,
you know what I mean. They could have just you know,
kept bringing in more and more talent and kind of
(02:30):
put them to the side, but no, they really highlighted
them as well. So that's another important note.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yeah, I agree, it was nice to be able to
see that enhancement going on, because usually with big shows
like this, people will just cast aside their main roster
and exchange for bringing in bigger names. But I love
how they were able to bring in just a few
pieces here and there to kind of enhance what we
(02:57):
already got going on at CSW.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Sure, Tag team rumble, What do you think of this match?
The Pescadina and Haven. They came out with a big victory.
They included Big Mood Shot of Juice, Ryan Matthews and
Jack Johnson Schultz and Officer el Ridge, Lee Mettelli, j C. Heights,
Sam Eli and Trell and Danny ge and Leon King.
(03:20):
They were all in that tag team rumble. How did
you feel about that one?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Unfortunately I was in the bathroom during majority of that match.
I came in about like the last two or three,
maybe four different tag teams. But what I saw, it
was great to finally see Escadda and Haven get that victory,
being pretty much the only girl tag team being that match.
(03:46):
And it was nice especially since Haven. This was her
first match back after suffering an arm injury earlier this year.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Having her first match back and getting that tree was
very bit or sweet for and I'm very proud of
what they did.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
So, yeah, we got to see Jay Marston take on
Shane Bouche with Shane Hollister the referee. This is all
hate Keepers matchup, and j Marston of course turned his
back on the hate Keepers. He attacked Warhorse and cost
Warhorse the Cswhadweight Championship. What do you think about the
(04:28):
continuation of this story? You know, opening this card, actually it.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Was very well entertained. I kind of saw this going
in that direction. But I'm still a hate Keeper for
life regardless. But who knows, this could set up a
situation where it's like the New blood Line versus the
Old blood Line. What in my opinion, We'll see. Who knows.
Maybe eventually all the members eventually go back home to Conan. Well,
(04:57):
we don't know, what this upcoming years go hold. But
I mean, for now, you could see that divide where
it's Conan Marston and Solomon versus against Shane Hollister, Shane
Bo'shay and Warre. So it's kind of interesting to see
where this dynamic is going to go with this upcoming
(05:19):
year because I could tell the story is far from over.
So but obviously Jay Marson it's the victory. Congratulations to him.
But we'll see what happens going forward with this storyline.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, one thing to note is that I was excited
to see that that Jay Marson came up with the
victory and I was able to, you know, not let
Shane Hollister, you know, dictate the outcome, and that was
great and I love to see that. The fact that,
you know, the good guys that got over and the
(05:54):
hate keepers now are you know, we're their numbers are dwindling.
You know, Warhorse wasn't even here. So you'll see what
next month holds. When Willhurst returns, he's gonna probably be
upset that Jay Marston was allowed to get this victory
even with an odds decked against him, and.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Who knows with him being pissed off at Jay getting
the victory. There could be a time where he even
turns his back on Shape Bull Shanes, like you never know,
like he might take his rage and frustration out on them.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
And we don't know who he will bring with him
as well.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Who knows, because we also still have honorary member Shaza
McKenzie is still a part of the Hate Keepers too. Yes,
so we'll see what happens. I'm excited to see what
holds this up coming year.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
We have Marsha Rocket and of course he teamed up
with Superstar Steve Boz to take on the team of
Bruss Hamilton and Hans Cardon and All Day Superstars got
the victory. That was great. That was the biggest crowd
that I've seen, you know, these guys perform in front
of and it was a raucous crowd. I mean it
(07:01):
was almost six hundred people there and in counting at
that venue. Isn't that crazy? And Elmwood Park, the circle
that Elmwood Park.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Yeah, that was a really great match. It was nice
to see Marsha and Bozz get the victory there, especially
since Boz has had a lot of beef with Bruss
Hamilton and Hans Carter. Has late. And just let you know,
if you ever asked Hans Carden if you can get
your crabs with garlic butter sauce or any look speak
(07:32):
chili sauce, He'll say, no, you have to just have
straw straight up crabs. Yes, it's actually a joke that
him and I see. I'm like, okay, if I can't
have this, let's gonna have this.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
He's like, nah, Well, I gotta say that. It was
great to see the Hans Carden come out and losing
end of that one. And we'll see what the future
holds between Boz and Hans and and of course bruss
Brush is still guess yet again his great first victory
at the CSW. I know he had to win at
the Battle Royal, but you know I'm telling a main
(08:06):
main card event. He has not gotten a victory yet.
So he's a monster. I mean, when is he gonna
get his due? Hopefully we'll find out soon.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Now, we got Kylie Ray who came to the ring.
Before Kylie came to the ring, she was Kylie Ray.
Maggie Lee came to the ring. Maggie Lee was originally
supposed to face Kylie Ray and her arm came to
the ring, her arm was in a sling. The news
I gathered was at the eleventh hour they decided that
she was not able to wrestle, or she decided that,
(08:41):
but it was an injury she had staying the weekend before.
It looks like you probably your good news is it
probably won't well, we're hoping that it won't be a
long term injury. But it was just disappointing because we
were all excited to see Kylie Ray and Maggie Lee
one on one. She came out, broke the news. Amina
(09:02):
comes out, Amina texts Maggie Lee and then of course
Kylie Ray came to the rescue. She made her entrance
and then you know what happened after that. She had
challenged Amina Belmont saying she doesn't deserve a World Women's
Championship match, and they those two had a match. Kylie
Ray defeated Amina Belmont would helping Maggie Lee on the outside.
(09:24):
So what do you think of how this all unraveled?
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Well, VERSTI were most we hope you get better soon, Maggie,
and also to the match that we're going to talk
about later on, get better soon.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
In Nashow, we are ball pulling for you both, Yes,
but yeah, I mean, that was kind of.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
To be expected with somebody having an injury, and I
figured Amina was going to come out and attack Maggie Lee,
to be honest with you, because it's a part of
her prerogative, right, So, I mean, but it was a
really good match regardless because those both went at each
other with everything they had. Yes, but obviously with a
(10:06):
little bit of the underhanded tactics of I mean a Belmont.
Maggie Lee saw this and was came in and helped
out Kylie Ray, which was to be expected, and obviously
Kylie picked up that victory. But overall it was a
very great match, especially showing that showcasing again how far
(10:27):
women's wrestling has come over the past few decades, being
going from mostly women being a valet or a manager
all the way to being able to be a women's
champion and even competing in the harder stuff like death
match wrestling. So to see how far wrestling has come,
it's just amazing.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
To see, yeah, for sure, And this was one of
two women's matches scheduled for that night as well for
that socio. How Big Win's wrestling is CSW usually has
two to three women's matches every night.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
So moving forward, Kylie Ray, it was awesome to see her.
I hope she comes back to CSW soon. I hope
we'll get to see her and Maggie Lee one on
one in the future and we'll see that's that's still
first time actually because it hasn't happened yet and I
(11:24):
can't wait. But meg Kylie Lee was great. It was
great to see him from a different crowd than the
normal freelance crowd. And you know, we've seen her in
Uprising Green Wave and she has not missed a beat.
She looks outstanding, Everything looks crisp, everything looks better than ever,
and she's doing intergender matches. Be she defeated Strong Grayson
(11:47):
with a freelance championship everybody back in October. She ended
the year and a half long reign of Storm Grayson
and that just shows you what that that she is
on point right.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Exactly. I mean I actually decided when I heard she
won that match. I mean, it's been well deserved for her.
And if I remember it, may here the three time
world champion, if I'm wonder.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
If I remember, yes, And she also got the ww
I D prospect she was identified, so that that's also
a huge news as well. So Kylie is really on
top of the world and we can't wait to see
what she does next. Moving forward, we had Tupu, the
New Age Punished b Boy and Gringo Loco. How did
(12:35):
you feel about this triple threat matchup?
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Let's just say it was very hard hitting you did.
It's like, what are these guys gonna do next? Because
they were going back and forth with each other the
whole entire match, and obviously Solivon who the Homeboy, gets
that victory, which is definitely what I expected in a way,
so it was kind of nice to see how that
(13:00):
played out. And obviously we still have Solomon Tupo who
play cash in for the title at any point this
upcoming year, so see if and where he decides to
go and get that built.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah. I was excited to see, especially Gringo. I love
the atmosphere he brings when he comes to the ring
and it was awesome seeing him in front of this
record breaking crowd for a CSW show, and I thought
he also performed well with all both guys. That's the
first time I seen gringo face Tupuo unless that's happened before,
(13:37):
at least to my knowledge. That was the first time
I seen him involved in the match together. And of
course the new Age punisher B Boy. I've never seen
him live. So it was a lot of intangibles, a
lot of fun, hard hitting and you don't blink when
you see these guys face fight each other. It's just
so much action is happening. They move so fast for
(13:58):
their size, yes they do. Now we're gonna get to
the street fight Jack and Eddie. I know it's not
on the paper, but I forgot to put it on there.
But Jack and Eddie defeated of course FX B and
Chris Biller and a Christmas theme street fight, and uh,
(14:19):
when you see this thing go down, you see all
these weapons come out, You're just thinking, oh boy, this
is gonna be insane. Eddie and Jack have really taken
a professional wrestling the world by storm. They are very,
very tough do, very tough guys, and they prove their
more thing just you know, whatever it is, weight make
a wish Moniker is that FX be put on them?
(14:42):
And they they made they were thumb taxs. I mean,
Eddie Grayson went through like a freaking table of thumb tax.
It was so insane. How did you feel about that match?
Speaker 2 (14:53):
I am giving shout out to my younger me and
my brothers adopted younger brother, Eddie Perrison. You definitely earned
this one, especially for what fx B has done to
your dad over the past few months. Yes, I mean
you're right, Jack and Eddie have really took in the
wrestling world by storm. I mean, yes, they may be
(15:15):
small in size, but they don't let that stop them.
They will take on any challenger, especially such as hard
hitting Chris Miller and fx B. So just to see
how they're able to even go to town against people
who are a little bit bigger than them, it just
shows how much they want to be in this business.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
So, and it was definitely insane seing Eddie go through
that table. I mean.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
I would say, they're.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Like, oh my gosh, please don't jup.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah. I know I know them a little bit, because
you know, they used to be fans at the show,
and I just know that they they've been playing having
a match like this for quite some time. It's like
when Sky Brews started doing the street fights. On same mentality,
you know, like been just waying, you know, waiting to
have that moment, you know.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah, And I remember because ironically enough, Eddie and his
dad and me and my brother, we actually all met
at an ic W No Holds Bar show when it was.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
At Billa Park, Okay, So that and then he was
telling me how he had dreams of getting into wrestling
and how he's going to wrestling school, is getting enrolled
into wrestling school.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
And to go from seeing him at the ic W
know Holds Bar show and to go into our first
seeing him finally getting that opportunity, it just put a
smile on my face. And and it's also like the
same story with Mason Moran otherwise known as that your
boy Mason Perks. Like he had the dream when he
(16:46):
was like I would say, eleven or twelve, and then
he gets enrolled into wrestling school and now he's the
POW Heavyweight Champion. And to see how far these kids
have grown and what they've accomplish is just amazing.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Yes it is. And faxp he got, he finally got
what was coming to him. So I'm glappy for that.
The next match HollyHood Haley j miss A, Kate csw
Woman she habionship. Originally a triple threat now it was
turned into a singles match, And how did you feel
about this change? And how did you feel about the match?
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I mean, yeah, as they said Cart, how I felt
about the change, I mean Cart subject to change, right,
So there's a lot of things that could happen that
make it impossible for certain wrestlers to compete, So they
had to juggle a couple of things around. So I
always expect things to be changed at any point throughout
(17:46):
the next few weeks. So the match in general was
very well done. It was my second time seeing HollyHood
Haley j You compete live because obviously I saw her
at Uprising the week four, So it was a very
well done match. Obviously, Amina tries to come out to
(18:06):
help HollyHood get the belt, but obviously missic Kate is
too smart for that and was able to get do
what is needed to retain that title. But it was
a really good, well done match from both of them.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
Yeah, I thought it was. It was a fun match,
and HollyHood got on the mic ahead of time and
turned on the Chicago audience, which was great. She's got
that charisma, she's got that egg factor and Missiciated and her,
they match up pretty well. Miss Kate finishing her beat
her with a submission move. Did you see that It
wasn't just a kick fil a you know? So I
(18:43):
thought that was also interesting finish.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
I agree because normally you never see her finish with
a submission. You usually see her do the chick full
a or kick fully or wherever it is and then
go into the pinfall. So it's nice to finally see
a little bit of a change up from her in
regards to finishing a match.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
And who was that little girl on the front road
and I got involved in with the magic?
Speaker 2 (19:09):
You have no idea. It was just some random man
And I'm looking at it back and the like, oh
my gosh, this girl.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
She had her slap Holly in the in the face,
she had her stopper beautiful. Yeah, yeah, I love missing
In CSW. She's usually a heel or someone that's not
you know, you know, renowned, you know what I'm saying
as being someone that's good, And I do like that.
They kind of like she is like a good person
(19:37):
in a cs W. She's the face, the baby face,
you know, it is supposed to be in the heel
that we've seen her in every other promotion and dream Waving, Uprising,
Freelance on a ground whatever. She you know what I'm saying,
every other promotion, Galley, She's always a heel, you know.
So I like that. It's a refreshing take.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
I mean exactly like you have some of these people
in our like apparently I found out shambo an Iron
Spirit pro Shambousha is actually a face there. Yeah, so
it's like nice to see them being able to play
both roles.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Well. Of course, we see Maggie Lee as a heel
in Dreamwave and she's outstanding in Dreamwave, so we have
to also mention that, h what do you think when
you first saw Maggie's hell? Had you seen any matches
of her or was that like a was that just
fresh to you when she came out?
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Actually this was the for our first Uprising show. We
actually saw her as a heel in Power Entertainment facing
Haley's Shadows or.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Something okay or some person.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
But it was like at one of their like main
shows like Summer Explosure or whatever, and she came out
as a heel. So it was very so we have
seen our roll before then, but so we kind of
knew what to expect. But like I said, you have
to have in wrestling, you have to have a really
good talent to be able to play both faced and
a heel role depending on the promotion of being able
(21:07):
to make that balance. So because not only are you wrestling,
you also have to like put on your persona yeah,
so and being able to act as like something that
you may not actually be in real life. So well,
we all know, like we all know when Estra as
a hell but outside of the rank, he's one of
(21:28):
the most nicest people you could ever beat. So it's
like it's fun to see how they worked things out
and stuff.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yeah, for sure, and I'm happy that mister Kate did
well in this match. And moving forward, I thought that
the women's division will see who's next. We know how
the Reckless will be a part of CSW in January,
so we'll see if she gets involved with Miss Kate
and she's a former CSW Women's champion as well. Not
a foreshadow too much, but you know, just see what's
(21:57):
out there for Miss Kid and CSW.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
I still want to meet a bellm on his women's
champion place.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Really, yeah, why why do you think she deserves it.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
She's been working hard in any every single promotion that
she's been in. She's a great athlete, she's got that. Really,
she's got her character. He'll rolled down and it's like,
it would be nice to finally see a belt put
on her because I don't think she's had any championships
at all yet.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
So yeah, yeah, that's true. Okay, well, we'll see you
where it happens, maybe CSW, maybe another promotion.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
We'll see. But I she needs a belt soon, people.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Okay, Well, she got to beat mess Icaid to get
that belt, and mister Kaid is not an easy wrestler
to beat, as you found out exactly. But I think
she still deserves her opportunity because that whole whatever had
that played out in her last match with Haley j
came out on the video screen, you know, and distracted her.
I feel like she does deser of a rematch, So
(23:01):
I think that that I could see her and and
Miss and a rematch or in a triple threat match
next month.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
That would be cool to say too.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
All right, well, then we get up to the next show, right,
and the next match we've got, of course, is in
Estra and Kintaro for the table, ladders and chairs match
the Metro Division Championship. How did you feel about this match?
It was pretty crazy that it was pretty wild throughout
the matchup tables, the ladders, and the power bomb off
(23:30):
the ladder through the table, and and of course you
know what happened at the end, and that Quaintaro connected
on what I thought was a a huge move like
a swantan almost dive into an estra, and the unfortunately
and Extra had you know, after the pinfall, and Extra
had the wind knocked out of him more and more
(23:51):
so than that, it was he was knocked unconscious. So, uh,
take us through the emotions that was that you went
through during seeing that matchup.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
I mean, first you have like the main match itself,
which was supposed to be a ladders, table the ladders
and chairs match where they were supposed to climb up
the ladder and get the belt. But obviously we saw
the belt fault and stuff to the outside of the
ring after like one of their feet clipped the belt
right and it went flying outside of the ring. So
(24:22):
then it became the one versus one. Yes, but you
still were allowed they were still allowed to use the
tables and the ladders and the chairs to keep with
that thief. So it was some of the spots were
very insane and well done. I mean, you had the
power bomb onto ladders, you had the tables getting involved,
(24:42):
the chairs getting evolved, and then obviously we saw the conclusion.
It was very emotional. Me and my girl Nanny, who
was wonderful enough to bring me. She was actually in
literal tears and I was at actually very emotional, like
I don't cry though, but my heart was brought broken
(25:05):
during that time because obviously you had we had to
wait for the ambulance to show up, but thank god
that the fire department was literally right across the thing
and they were able to get there very quick. And
but yeah, because even Papa Grayson was like, he's ah,
we said, why are we so emotional? It's like it's
(25:26):
to be expected, because not only have these guys become
a part of your life, your lives have become a
part of ours as well. So we've become like family. Yes,
so you're seeing a family member get hurt, and so
obviously me and my girl nan and we prayed over
prayed for him and some of one of the other
(25:48):
people who may have been in that tag team battle
Royal was. I guess you had gotten like a small
tin of those like Christmas cookies that you get every year,
and so he was opened it and he offered me
a nanny of cookie to calm us down. But yeah,
it was a very scary situation. But luckily we heard
(26:08):
he was able to he regained consciousness and was able
to get the thumbs up. But obviously he now has
like a I guess a stuirtin like muscle or something
in his arm or shoulder that is going to be
seeing him out for two to three months. So obviously
I don't know if everybody whoever listens to this podcast,
(26:32):
if you go on to Victor and Estra's or Lily
the Pescadida releases Facebook page or on any of their
so other social medias, they have a go fund me
up so that way they can have some money to
be able to pay for treatments, food and stuff that
they may need during this time since he won't be
(26:53):
able to get that extra money from the ring. So
if you can, so if you can't donate, at least
finally gets you share with as many people.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
As you know.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
So let's help our way out and get him the
money that he needs to get better. But yeah, it
was a very scary situation overall.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Yeah, I can only imagine what what Lily was going through,
and and and Estra's family and friends and the audience
were going through seeing that happen. And you know, our
prayers are with him and his family. But it looks
like he's he kind of came out on the better
end of things. You know, we're just just having that
that that shoulder or whatever, that that that muscle strain.
(27:31):
So yeah, it's such a dangerous thing that these these
they performing. We knew going in, they knew the risks,
you know, obviously with his tables, letters and chairs match
I know Katio said he took it very much inspiration
from Jeff Hardy if you listen, if you had listened
to my podcast, he said, I'm watching Jeff Hardy's matches
to come up with ideas what I want to do
(27:53):
on Friday. And you know, he had told me about
that during during our podcast as well.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
And then now only obviously I was solid Lily during
the like when they were getting the ambulance was pulling
in and stuff. She was very devastating. You could see
it on her face, and the wrestler like Ryan Matthews,
Maggie Lee and a bunch of other people were like,
they're hugging her and consoling her and stuff. So but literally,
(28:19):
this is a family. Whether you're a fan wrestler, we
are all one group. So you know, if one of
us follows, we helped him get right back up.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
So we got you guys, Yeah, for sure. And like
I said, great match though, and.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
You could only imagine how can Tara was feeling after
that too, Like you could tell he was shook up too.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Yes, it was. It was. It was difficult to see
that and it stopped the show. But the show went
on and we got to the main event. We went
to Matt Cardona coming out making his entrance against Conanchen
and what do you think of how he addressed the
Shitago fans and the interaction he had with the Chicago fans.
It was wild, right, agreed, And the.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Only thing I have to say to mac Carton is
word off bitch.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
It was funny. They said we want Chelsea and they
called them Chelsea's bitch and they called them we want
as Brian myerss yes, So I thought it was funny.
(29:38):
It was it was it was pretty wild. Uh you know,
and you have returned to the fans and couldn't expY anything.
Last Conan Liken cames in has the face and then
these two had a pretty good match. They was back
and forth. Looked like Cardona was kicking out of almost
everything that Conan was bringing to him. And then we
saw the c s W locker room spill out and
(29:59):
started banging on the ring. What did you think of
that happening during the match? Is that something you liked
or you didn't care for?
Speaker 2 (30:08):
I loved it actually, because that just shows how much
they they they're putting theirselves behind Conan and the home
guy and just to giving to give him because obviously
he was feeling defeated, but to see the locker room
come out and get him, give him that motivation that
he needed to get that victory is just shows how
(30:29):
much we love him as a competitor in CSW.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Also, we had the pre match, Uh, I'll just read
it off. Lizard Man Nathan Nile defeats some guy that
I actually never even heard of, Maximo Swab. Yeah, he
had that match which was really good. But yeah, but
back to the main event. It was really good back
(30:57):
and forth. You didn't it could have gone either way. Yes,
to be honest with you, I don't think mac Cardona
would come here every single week, just.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
No, no, But it would have been funny if he
wanted and then he just gave it back or something
just to add to his collection of belts. But yeah,
I know, you know, that's kind of like when you
have like an outsider come in. That's the only thing
that's kind of disappointed is that you kind of know
expect that, oh, he's not gonna win. Mac Grdona had
(31:26):
that huge move he took oh my goodness, super plex
off the top rope. That was crazy, and Knan did
that and then he followed up with the you know
that finished that driller he does right, He did that
again and then bam that was it. Then he then
he finally went to the top and connected with the
four fifty Like that was just a nice sequence ending
(31:48):
of finishing moves, you know.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
And once he connected with that four fifty, Mac gardonah
got back up like he was trying to get up,
and then he just got meg Grdona got back up
and to give us another false There was a lot
of false finishes. He gave the Brosky boot and a
close fall there. Oh my goodness, there was so much
action and there was a lot of a lot in
this matchup. You know that jumping DDT. Cardona does as well.
(32:14):
He connected on that. That was a close fall and like,
I'm looking at some of the clips because I just
want to relive some of it. And I know he
tried to catch the CSW Championship the mat Cardona and
he in the ref Kevin Kevin tried to prevent him
from using it. And then that is kind of like
when went to his downfall, because that's when the CSW
(32:37):
fans were out there. And then Conan boom ducked it
hit the ref and then Conan goes in and and
just goes in for a nice it's like big that
big drop he does, you know, he just falls right
through the guy. And then he did the the flip
off the turno goal again and then and then that
that should have been it. And then of course, like
(32:59):
there's just so much much false finishes in this matchup,
Like you gotta go back and watch it. It's so crazy.
And finally he connected with that big finish at the end,
and all I gotta say is Conan Likeen is a monster.
Like who is gonna throne Conan like It? We'll have
to see. I don't know who is part of the
main core roster who can thrown Conan Liken? I know
(33:22):
war Horse did it, but who else I don't I
don't see anyone stepping up.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
What Remember there was that match with Solomon too, who
had a coupl others that would determine a new number
one contender or get a chance to be able to
compete for it sometime in the calendar year, So who knows.
Maybe Conan loses it to somebody and then somehow Solomon
(33:50):
Cash is in that opportunity and wins the belt back.
Who knows. So there's a lot of intangibles that could
be you going on during this upcome that we don't
know yet.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Yes too, who definitely does have the match coming up,
so we shall see how that goes. Yeah, I'm excited
to see what happens in twenty twenty five for CSW.
Now we're gonna switch gears and talk about uprising for
a little bit, and we don't have to talk about
(34:21):
like all the matches, But all I will say is
when I came in there, I missed the first three matches,
but I got to see Shaza mackenzie get her first
victory and Uprising finally against in a triple threat matchup
against Ivy Malibu and they know me what's her name,
(34:43):
Gabrielle Fortza, and that was a fun match. I enjoyed
the chemistry. Days three had what did what did you think?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
That was a fun match, because I mean, especially in
the beginning when you had the goal with at each
other and like our wrestling match, and then Shaza kind
of gets in it up and then that starts the
actual match itself, So it was kind of fun to
see how they had a little bit of fun in
the beginning, but then it got serious and it was
(35:10):
awesome finally seeing Shaza get that first victory in Uprising,
because she the last time she ended up losing. I
think she was there both the Friday night and the
Saturday ended up losing both of them. So to finally
see her get that first victory was awesome because it's
always always Shaza McKenzie matches are always fun to watch,
(35:32):
so I mean, and then if you had Gabby Worza,
who also used her strong athletic progress to kind of
like get the victory, but it wasn't enough. And then
of course she had Avi Malibu who brought that flare
and just the flexibility and just everything about her. So
(35:52):
the way they had all had great chemistry together was
absolutely amazing.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Yes, for sure, and I love I loved up women's athletes.
Like you haven't been to one of their shows. There
are a bit further away from Chicago, I'll warn you that,
but they are worth it. I have to take off
work to make it on time, and I know this
this one was basically like I left right after It
felt like I left right after work because I left
like literally before five thirty and I usually get off
(36:20):
around five, you know what I mean. So I was
just like, and that's what happens. I missed the first hour,
but you know that's to be expected when you leave late.
And so that's that's another thing, is you got to
be there early. And I enjoyed the show, like I
got to see Sierra and Becca as well. I thought
that was a nice contest, like those two were back
and forth. Sierra looked like she had the wind of
(36:42):
course Beca stole it. And this was my first time
seeing Becca live. How about you?
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Yes, actually this was awesome My first time saying me
and my brother's first time saying are live too. We
have seen her compete and like a couple of different
promotions like wrestling, yes, and some other places out in
like the New Jersey area, and she's a great athlete,
so it was finally awesome to be able to see
(37:10):
her in the flash and doing her things.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
So yes, she she got the fans against her. You know,
she was doing her pop stars her pop stars thing
and and uh, you know, kind of pissing the fans off,
and then you know, she was just cheating left and right.
Sierra looked like she was gonna win. My my prediction
for the match was Beca. I just felt like she
(37:34):
was gonna be crafty and she was gonna come do
some on her hand tactics, and that's what happened. But
Sierra is still amazing. She's you know, she she got
her first victory at the last Uprising show at up
Rising three against Ashley Alexander. So it was a tough outing,
but she'll be back. And then there was the good
as Gold rumble, and there's just so much that we
(37:57):
can talk, only so much time we can talk about
this rumble. But the surprise appearances were so worth it.
And I was thirty women Good as Gold entrant. Every
woman is gunning to become the first Good as Gold champion.
And the surprises were of course Jordan, Grace, Hollywood, Haley
(38:19):
j there were some other ones that weren't announced previously
that came as well, Tooty Lynn and then Britney Brooks,
who we thought moves three months removed from ACL surgery.
There's no way she's gonna rustle, right, she wasn't even
advertised to be there. Another the coolest factor is that
for me, who missed the first three matches, I got
(38:42):
to see almost every woman later in the Good as
Gold Rumble, except for Kylie Ray. Kylie Ray was not
included in the Good as Gold Rumble if you remember.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
Yes I do. And also he forgot to mention one mat.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Which one a tag team match for the championship. Oh
you you had it in front of you. I thought
you saw it. Yes, yeah, yeah, I can't believe we
forgot that. Yes, so yes, the CSW Tag Team Championships
between Adam Stallion, Cipher versus Excellent Doom, the Brothers of Instruction,
(39:20):
Avalon Sierra to become the new CSW Tag Team champions
And what a matchup this was. It was an elimination match,
and early on the elimination was a Bros of Instruction.
That was kind of surprising that they were the first
to be eliminated, wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
I actually watched would and I went over at the
table at the end of the show, didn't I tell you?
But He's like, what would you change us? Like that?
Come on, guys.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Yeah, So they have a short title tag Team Championship
ring because they've only held the belts for like a
two months. My pick was Cipher and Stallion to win it.
I thought they had the momentum and obviously everything aside
with the whole mask situation and Cipher unmasking, they were
on the same page. They were great there. Their toughest
(40:17):
opponents in this matchup, I believe, was Sierra and Avalon.
That's why they were the final final ones to be
in the team. To be in there with them, it
was Excellent Doom. They they got eliminated, and Stallion and Cipher.
What a top team. Like they were great, Like they
may be the greatest tag team champions in CSW history.
(40:39):
We don't know, and we'll see what happens, but I
just felt like they just had that chemistry going. They
had the fans behind them, and no matter what Sierra
and Avalon brought, no matter if they cheated or not,
they could not, you know, stand up to them. And
that's what made that match great is that we got
to see Stallion and Cipher really go go head to
(41:01):
head with them. Man, they were really going at it.
Remember they were just punching each other literally for like
three or four minutes. That was crazy when Stallion and
Cyber were just literally punching them like two minutes. And yeah,
I mean, how did you feel? This is another emotional win.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Yeah, that was sometime obviously to finally see them on
the same page fully and stuff that. It's great to
finally see them get that cohesiveness and being able to
get the bolts. That was a very well done match.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah, it was. And it's a tough match to be
in with three other teams and its elimination style. It's
it's the whole match lasted about twenty minutes from start
to finish, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
That ain't too bad.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah, it was. It was like fort start to finish,
almost twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
It was.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
It was not a short match at all, you know
what I mean. So it was, it was. It was interesting.
It was interesting to see, you know, how how far
they've come as a tag team unit. And this is
Ado stallion first time winning championship gold. Uh, this is uh,
I believe Cipher's first time winning championship gold. And it's
(42:24):
Cipher's first time winning tag team championship gold as well,
So a lot of firsts. Yeah, because Cipher I thought
he might have won it and somewhat clarified and with
me and I said, no, Cipher's never won any tag team.
He had another stable he was a part of. He
was competing a tag team with Nick Cutler, and no,
he never won the tag team championships. And to my knowledge,
(42:45):
this is Stallion's first ever championship victory. I know He's
competed for the Metro Division as well. So this is
a huge night and really going to take them to
the upper echelon of where they could be in cswho.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Interesting to hear, but yeah, I can't wait to see
how their title rain goes, It's gonna be fun to see.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
Yeah, I just love when that music plays. They jump up,
jump up and get down and then Cipher just starts
going crazy and slapping everyone's hands. You know what I mean.
It's just you gotta be their CSW show. It doesn't
do us justice to tell you, and you can watch
it on iw TV, but you gotta be there live,
get by the ticket, take the ride. As Matt Justice
(43:28):
would say, you know.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Exactly what. It was really good and I'm really proud
of them to see them get their.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Well, we'll back to the uprising. They're good as go rumble.
It came down to the final five, I believe. And
it was just crazy that Jordan Grace was part of
this match, uh from TNA and no clue that she
would be there, you know. I think that was the
biggest surprise of the night, followed up by Britney Brooks.
And whoever thought that Britney Brooks with eliminated capacity she has,
(44:05):
She's not one hundred percent, she cannot wrestle, you know,
a full match, but for her to show up there,
and and and and and and and eventually and then
we saw her become the champion of this the win
the Good as Gold rumble like that was crazy. It
was a crazy ending sequences. You had Beca in there,
Missa Kyden there, you had Jay Rodd in there, and
(44:27):
Jay Rod was very frustrated she did not come out.
She was my pick to win that Good as Gold
first ever Good as Gold and Zada Steele and just
to see how it came down and Jay Rod being
eliminated by Jay Lodd eliminated Becka miss eliminating Jay Rod,
and then Zada Steel eliminating Missa and then all of
a sudden behind her fine Britney Brooks eliminated Zeta and uh,
(44:52):
Britney Brooks is again She's got to heal up. She's
got about two months she's going to do to wrestle
for this Dreamway Women's Championship. Maggie Lee defender title against
against against Brittany, against Meghan Bain and against who else
(45:13):
is in that matchup? Zeta Steel.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
So because Santa Steel, Yeah, she was in the.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yes yes, so that the next the next night on Dreamway,
just to follow up what happened, and I gave you
those results, right, we saw a big win from Becca.
She defeated misticate Jay Rod in a fatal four way matchup,
and how did you feel about that one?
Speaker 2 (45:44):
That was so but it was to be expected, like
they promised her like victories and different other things after
the show. So yeah, we'll see what happens with her
and that storyline, but it's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Yes, Becca defeated Jay Rod, Kylie Ray and of course
miss A Kate to win that fatal four way matchup.
Then we know that she's gonna take on the uprising
alternative champion, which is Rebecca j Scott. Rebecca jay Scott
took on Ashlan Alexander. She got the victory as well
(46:27):
at Dreamwave Wrestling and then Dreamwave Women's Championship was on
the line in a two out of three falls match
with referee special referee Surprise Britney Brooks. It ended in
a no contest at one fall apiece between Zada Steele
against the champion, Maggie Lee. And of course Zada Steele
(46:49):
took out the referee which was Britney Brooks with her
with her briefcase and Zada Steele was afraid that she
was going to cash in on that on that on
their championship match, So that is all for Dreamwave, like
that's that's just to follow up, you know, and obviously
the whole Dreamwave show was awesome as well. But when
(47:10):
we're talking about kind of like the aftermath of the
Uprising Women's Championships, and I did see the other Uprising
matches later on if you want to just mention those,
uh it was Hyende versus Uh high Enne versus brook Havoc.
(47:33):
Brook Havoc cheated to defeat high End. Rebecca J. Scott
defended the Alternative Championship Uprising Alternative Championship successful against Kylie Ray,
making her tap out. And then the other match that
was on that card that I didn't get a chance
to see was the Erica Damia. She got her first
(47:55):
singles victory and Uprising against Ashly and Alexander.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
That was a really fun match and I was very
excited for her to get that victory, but unfortunately she
sustained an injury herself where she sugar hands, so it's
gonna be out for a while.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
So yeah, there's been a lot.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Of injuries over the past few weeks that have occurred,
so we wish everybody who's gotten injured a quick, quick,
smooth recovery, and hope to see you guys back in
the ring as soon as possible. Obviously, but obviously also
while listening to your bodies. If you aren't fully ready,
please listen to your bodies and take a little bit
of extra time if you need to but it. But
(48:40):
obviously that match was insane. I think it's time that
Ashle and Alexander jumps her managers.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Yes, holding her back for sure. If you had to
add someone to the uprising woman's wrestling roster, who would
it be? If you could just even for one show,
who would you that's never been a part of it.
That's actually a good question, you want to know. My
(49:09):
answer is, okay, you tell me yours and I'll give me.
I'd love to see Charlie Evans come uprising for one show, sick.
We haven't seen her in years, so that's and and
that'd be great. I mean for someone that's overseas and
she's been to Illinois area, she's worked shows here, but
she's never been to like shows that we've gone to,
(49:32):
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Actually, no, she was actually part of I think the
Big Age.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
Invitational, Yes, but I'm saying about like recently, since then,
we haven't seen her, No, we haven't. Yeah, so I
would like to see that that happen. And if you
have a choice of who you'd like to see, go ahead.
It could be anyone. It could be someone that's like,
you know, with aew, but not like WW because that
(49:58):
would be unrealistic.
Speaker 2 (50:01):
I wouldn't mind actually seeing even if it's for one night. Uh,
Dianna Parrazzo.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
Yeah, that would be amazing because I've always.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
Been a fan of Dianna Parrazzo. So it'd be cool
to see. Even if it was just like her versus
like Ashle and Alexander or something like that, that'd be cool.
Speaker 1 (50:21):
Even if she took on Maggie Lee, that'd be great. Yeah, yeah,
you know, I'd love to see that as well. And
and I think the next Women's Champion of Uprising, if
you had a guess who would be, who would you choose?
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Well, I'm thinking it will be Britney Brooks because I
know she will eventually catch it at some point, right.
But who I would really like to see though, is
oh what one of the Blair sisters?
Speaker 1 (50:52):
Oh, hail hail twins.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
I mean the Hale sisters.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
Yeah, unfortunately one of them is out of injury.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
Yeah, I heard about that, and I know one doesn't
travel without the other.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
So you know who i'd like to see winning Meghan Bane.
Oh yeah, I would love to see Meghan Baine win
that championship goes Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Oh yeah, people Uprising, I mean, you already have a
huge roster, need tag team championships.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
I know, well they'll they'll eventually get there. I mean,
Dream Wave doesn't even have Tag Team Championships though they.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Actually have a tag team champions they have twelve gauge.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
Oh yeah, that's right, they do have them, right, they
do have. But I'm saying, is that the reason why
is that sometimes a woman challenge for their champion champs
campionships and we thought the Hail twins. But yeah, I agree.
I think they'll eventually have they'll add tag team championships.
But you know, for now, Uprising is just grown and grown,
and I can't wait. Their next show will be in April,
(51:56):
so I cannot wait for the next time. It will
be at least warmer than and it just seems to
be an easier trip when it's warmer. The next dream Yeah,
the next The next Streamwave show is February eighth, that's
called Famous Last Words, and that's when we'll see Rebecca J.
(52:19):
Scott versus Becca for the Alternate Alternative title. That's when
we're gonna see Maggie Lee Began, brain Bittneat Books, and
Zeta Steele for the Dreamwave Women's Championship and so that
will be the next time. And of course the next
time Uprising will be in LaSalle will be in April
April eleventh for Uprising Women's Athletes five, so exactly. Yeah,
(52:45):
a lot of information we're giving you here, so hopefully
you guys can understand and take it, you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
Hopefully, and hopefully we'll be I'll be able to get
a job soon so I can afford to.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
Go back to so yeah, well good luck with that.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
I can always watch if Egles live, and I had
to stay home at least watching TV.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
So yeah, yeah, I definitely watching iw TV is the
place to keep keep in tune with all the Chicago promotions.
And you know, I just feel like the wrestling has
just grown bigger and bigger. The industry has grown bigger
and bigger, so I can't wait to see more talent
(53:29):
to emerge and and get get out there. You know,
I just watched like going to AW and just like,
how many of these women have I seen on Independence?
So many of them? You know, that's pretty cool. That's
a cool feeling to have when you go to like
a big show like AW and even WW, I've seen
many of them and from Shimmer. You know, it just
(53:50):
shows to show how many wrestling shows I've been to
a lot of shows.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
You've seen in Yes, yes, now, Cora Jade, I mean
you've had sky Blue going to a e W, and
you have Ericademia and some Shaza McKenzie, Heather and stuff
go to a e W and have matches even though
(54:18):
they've lost, but at least they're getting that exposure. Now
you have Heather Reckless who's now a part of the TNA,
who's a TNA knockout and now going by the wonderful
name of Heather by Elegance. I mean, we've it's nice
to see that the people that we've seen in the
indies getting there finally getting their time in the sun.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
So, yes and so, and I'm still.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
Hoping Maggie Lee is able to achieve that dream of
entering the WW at some point.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
Oh yeah, she's working on it. She's working every day,
and she'll work and get past this injury. She had
a championship match with Sierra for the AAW Women's Championship
Street Fights scheduled at the end of this month, and
so I don't know if her status will be ready
for that one, but we know she'll she'll be back
sooner than later, and so will and Estra and and
(55:10):
everyone that's that's injured. Sky Blue will will be working,
you know, towards getting her back herself back as well.
So so much great talent out there, like so if
someone gets hurt, you always got other talent that will
step up and take their place, you know what I mean.
That's that's what we'll we'll see, you know, we just
see a couple of spots open up now in the
next cs W show. We'll see who steps up and
(55:30):
takes them. And I think that that's what that's what's
so great about what what professional wrestling has done and
the industry as a whole. It's just everybody's prepared to
step up and take that take the spot and and
when when when needed to be you know, I agree, Well,
this is it for p W e uh for this
(55:53):
month and check out gc W. You know we're gonna
talk more g c W. How about that, Danielle, you
do you watch? Do you want to start watching some GCW? Heck? Yeah,
well you have you have my my fight Plus account.
So remember we've got GCW is coming. Uh is gonna
be doing it big. If you don't have anything to
(56:14):
do for the New Year's Eves, bring in the New
Year's e with GCW. I've done that before. GCW till
Infinity New Year's Eve at eight pm. That is their
biggest card. There's also gonna be the People Versus GCW
and the Hammerstein Ballroom on Sunday, January nineteenth. Yes, and
(56:36):
I know you've cut up, you know, somewhat with GCW.
I know you kind of like kind of fell off
a little bit because you kind of went to the
death matches. But let me tell you, Danielle, this is
the time to watch GCW. This is when they put
death matches on. This is these next couple of cards
are gonna be great. So hopefully we can recap some
of these shows as well. Definitely all right because the
last time GCW on my birthday, I had a blast
(56:59):
I mean, I had the freak and still chair with
me because I want to get it signed by Kylie
Ray that Kylie Ray Hitman Hens Water in the headwive
during their matchup, so you know, and then we all
Chris Jericho showed up at gc W out of Nowhere
at Cardona, Yes, So gc W will definitely be trying
(57:22):
to work that in and talking about their shows as well,
especially the New Year. Then maybe maybe we'll come back
next week and we'll do a recap of the New
Year show or a preview of it, and then we'll
