Speaker 1 (00:02):
Well, Shawn Lay here with Kirby Alexander here on the
p WE Report finally get him back on, and he
is Kirby the Voice Alexander. If you don't know him,
he is the current announcer for Freelance Wrestling, among other
wrestling promotions, but mostly doing just Freelance for now.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And we've had him and a few other promotions pop
up as well, so we'll get to that as well.
But you know, he makes a surprise appearance. But we
appreciate you, Kirby, being back on the show. We're talking
about no Cuts, No Glory. This is a benefit show
for you, and I'm sure you didn't imagine that there
would be a second benefit show happening, you know from

(00:42):
what happened last year. You had a tumultuous year last year.
Of course people then know with your heart transplant and
everything that. You know, thankfully it went well. But now
you are, you know, faces some adversity now and so
we'll give you a chance to tell us about that
and this event and Freelance resting No Cuts, no Glory,
So what come on PW Report.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Glad to be here, Thanks everybody for tuning in and listening.
So yeah, most of you probably know about my heart.
We talked about that here on PWE before. I got
a new heart about sixteen months ago now and it's
doing absolutely fantastic. So skip ahead from me getting it.

(01:25):
Nine months. Eight and a half months after I got
the new heart, my house nearly burnt down and I
was trapped in the house. I was the only one home.
Luckily I was able to check the house right away
and no one else was home. But I could not
get downstairs, not because of physical ability. There was no

(01:49):
fire in front of me, but there was a wall
of heat in front of me that I couldn't go down.
I had to go down six stairs to get out,
and I couldn't do it. So I had to be
rescued from my son's room, who has a big bay
window that's front facing out to the street. I would
say that firefighters and everybody got there within three minutes

(02:09):
and got me down to the ground safely. I got
scratched up pretty bad on the on the ladder, but
nothing else was wrong, and it didn't you know, it
didn't hurt my heart at all, like nothing like that.
But it was a tragic experience. We lost. We lost
two dogs to smoke in elation, and then my wife

(02:32):
and I and my two children lost ninety eight percent
of everything we've owned. I've been a collector all my life,
a lot of rustling stuff because I've been in the business,
Lots and lots of comic book stuff, especially original art,

(02:53):
mostly drawn by people that are probably deceased now, autographs
from movies and TV and music and music memorabilia like
I really really collected, and all of that has gone.
And you know, for me, ninety percent of that stuff
was was one of a kind and so it cannot

(03:13):
be replaced and it can't really even be priced. And
I know what people say, stuff is stuff, and it is,
but my stuff was cooler than your stuff. So it's
a little harder. And I mean that in a total
jesting way, but it is still it is still something
you lament. You know, it's not just something you go, oh, well,

(03:34):
stuff is stuff. You know, you can still grieve. It's
just you shouldn't linger on it too too long because
it was stuff. It wasn't your family. That's the important thing.
But you know, there is still a grieving process that
goes with that to a certain extent, especially when you're like, oh,
I want to grab this game. Oh I don't have
that game anymore, or when other people bring up like

(03:54):
oh you have that, don't you and they're like, oh yeah,
so stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
But now we're doing really, really well. We're we're a
closer family now than we were, not that we weren't,
but we're even closer than we were pre fire. And
everyone's just doing phenomenal just recovering. Uh. The only one
who really had to deal with any uh any trauma
was me because I was the one trapped in the house.

(04:23):
So I got like a month or two of trauma
specific therapy and uh, and I'm you know, I'm all good.
I was able to figure out how to face and
deal with what I went through. But yeah, so now
here we are and it's been about seven months. The

(04:43):
house is being rebuilt. We've relocated. We're living in a
rental now for about the past seven months and the
house is being rebuilt for about a month now. I've
been in it a couple of times. Uh, and it's
a slow process, but it's happening, so you know, it's
there and and that's great. So you know, that takes
us up to what we're kind of really here to

(05:06):
talk about tonight, which is Freelance's second annual so to speak,
benefit show for me. Hopefully we don't have to do
a third annual benefit show. James kind of joked, I'm
talking about James Russo, who is the booker for Freelance Wrestling,

(05:26):
because not everyone may know, and he jokes like, there
better not be a third benefit show. If there has
to be a better be a memorial show. And because
he said, because I'm going to kill you. But you know,
it's the fact that Freelance Wrestling did a benefit show

(05:51):
in the first place was absolutely phenomenal, and you know,
it pulled in a good amount of money for us
at a time when we really they needed it. But
it also it did stuff for me, you know, the
fact that that many people cared about my heart condition.

(06:12):
And uh and it wasn't just Freelance. Freelance put on
a benefit show, but you know, every other promoter I
know donated or helped in some way. Workers I know
from other companies helped in some way. Fans who have
just watched me on a stream, you know, they've they've
seen this or that or whatever I w TV and

(06:34):
you know, they're like, hey, you know, I want to
help this guy too, and I'm And not only did
they helped them monetarily, I had fans reaching out just
to talk to me. I had a couple of different
fans who I knew relatively well come up in the
hospital and hang out with me. And that whole community,
you know, got me through that. So it was phenomenal

(06:55):
that that all of that happened, that that outpouring from
the wrestling community. So now James and everyone else iwa
or I Min South. I haven't worked for I Min
South fifteen years. I don't know why that was even
on my tongue for a second. That's really funny, ty

(07:17):
in So. But Freelance has decided to do a second
show and that's going to be this weekend, August twenty
third at Logan Square Auditorium seven o'clock bell time, maybe
eight o'clock belltown, I'm not positive. Sean eight o'clock bell time. See,

(07:38):
I knew you would know. And yeah, we're going to
talk about that tonight. But just the fact again that
they were willing to do another benefit show just means
a lot. It really means a lot, because you know,
we're living in a rental and it's a nice rental,
but you know there's still just I mean, when the

(07:58):
fire first hit, you now have four people who own
one pair of pants and one shirt. That's all we own.
So and they're in school and my wife is working,
you know, and I'm about to be doing stuff because
you know, I'm at the point where I'm recovering really well,

(08:20):
and so we wanted to we had to go shop
for one week. We only we figured, let's get seven
days of clothing because then you know, that's plenty of
time to wash and everything. But now you're buying seven
outfits for four people. So that's twenty eight outfits, and
that's tops and bottoms and maybe shoes to go with it.

(08:42):
Like you're doing that in almost like one shopping spree
because we needed and that was insane, and that was
you know, my wife did that because I was still
in the hospital from the fire, because they just had
to make sure I was okay, okay, But she went
and had did a shopping spa across multiple stores to
get at least twenty eight outfits across four different people.

(09:08):
And so you know, it will get reimbursed, but the
reimbursement process isn't the fastest process in the world. And
so what Freelance is doing and what you fans will
be doing by coming to this show will really help
us once again. And it's not lost on us, you know,

(09:28):
if we're the kind of people like even now, we're
still being charitable, like we're still helping others when we
have not much, and because that's who we are. And
if that wasn't who we are, who we were, if
we hadn't helped so many communities in the past, this
would not have happened for us. And that's the one
thing I told my children. I'm like, if you if

(09:50):
there's one takeaway from the fire and the heart, is
that if mom and Dad weren't good people, this would
not happen. People wouldn't be helping us like this. We've
helped people for forty years, never ever expecting anything in return.

(10:10):
And that's when you get it, when you do it
selflessly and people know it. Danny had students that she
taught twenty years ago and hadn't seen in twenty years.
Somehow hear about it and going on to go fund me,
you know, everyone trying to bring over meals for us.
It was just absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Right for sure, And I'm sure it's just going to
take a while to get back to things back to
normal for you.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Well, absolutely, you know I'm starting a new career. You
know about that as well. I'm becoming a barber, which
ties in to the fact that the benefits show is
called No Cuts, No Glory. Isaiah s Velaskaz came up
with that title for the show. And the previous benefit
show and this benefit show. They don't tell me anything.

(11:02):
They told me they're having a benefit show. So I
didn't know the name until you guys do the name.
I didn't know what the first match was until you
guys do what the first match was. Like, I am
in the dark right now. Six of eight matches have
been announced. I have no idea what the other two
matches are.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
I think you just announced one extra one. Did they
go to seven g P a versus HUNKI.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yes, that's that's number six. Okay, Yeah, that took us
to six of eight. Okay, actually I see that at seven.
Let's go through when we go when do we go through?

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Maybe?

Speaker 3 (11:42):
So yeah, you know, it's it's just it's exciting for
me to see what's going to happen the last show, Uh,
Mustafa Ali showed up and uh, you know, I assume
a lot of people know. But the benefits show are
not paid shows. You work benefit shows for free because

(12:05):
you care about the guy or whoever it is. They're
trying to help. Mussaf Ali, you know, not in the
WW anymore, but it's still a very desired name to
have on shows and gets paid well to be on
shows and decided to not take that pay and show

(12:30):
up for me and work in the main event and
cut a promo about me at the end, And dude,
it's again. It wasn't just the money, it was just
all the healing. It was all the love. And now
we're about to go through it again this Saturday.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Definitely, And I appreciate you being on PW point and
telling your story. Man, it's really amazing what you've been
able to share and how far you've come.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yeah, the matches are really good, and I.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Would say that you look at Coda Hernandez and Chico
Freelance Legacy Championship and Dad really sticks out there. I mean,
if you've seen Chico kind of get his get his
titles dot, it came at the last freelance show at
the Emporium show and Chico won the scramble match at
the OH. It was like a bat over the top

(13:19):
battle royal. So what do you think of Chico now?
I know you've known him for a long time and
and to see him being the main event.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
You know, I have known Chico for a good amount
of time. There's definitely people I've known longer, but I
would put him somewhere in the in the ten year mark,
probably of my eighteen years I think in the business now.
And Chico is one of those guys that every time

(13:49):
you see him he's a little bit better, and he
continues to work on his craft and work for different
companies and learn different styles, and you know, he's kind
of always been just kind of one level and now
he's starting to like build up out of that level
and get into title pictures and main events and such.

(14:12):
And I'm very happy for him. He's a great dude.
And but he's going to have a hell of a
match having to go up against the insanely on fire
right now.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Coda hernanis yes, I know, and him and Coda this
is gonna be a fun match. We saw them square
off against each other at the end of the last show,
and so what are your thoughts of color Hernandez heading
into this championship match?

Speaker 1 (14:41):
And we always been as a champion so far.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yes, he this championship run and just and everything he
did leading up to it has been awesome. Like he
just keeps elevating and elevating and elevating, and they bring
in like really cool people for him to work. You know,
he worked miss off Ali maybe in the last two months,
I think, uh, and uh, you know, Ali cut a

(15:07):
promo at the end and he was like, basically, it's
like you need to step it up even more because
you need to be like the next Chicago guy, Like
you need you actually need to be carrying this city
on your shoulders. And uh, Coda is the guy to
do it. I really do believe. I am so impressed

(15:28):
with him. And uh, he's such a good dude. I'm
gonna say that probably about a lot of people today
because there are it's it's mostly great people in the
business right now, you know, and uh, pardon me, I
get a dry throat, but yeah, there we go. Uh.

(15:48):
Codis just a really good dude. You know, he's he's
very humble. Uh. He takes you know, he he appreciates
the praise, but he appreciates criticism just as much. And
he'll find me and be like, how is the match?
And like, you know, really want to know, not just like, oh,
how was what did you think of my match? You know,
it's like what did you think of the match? Like

(16:09):
he needs to know everything that I felt about it,
And you know that's that's the only way you get better,
you know, you build off of everything and you take
advice from people. And yeah, he's just killer doing that.
And the thing I'm thinking about though, because you know
you mentioned it, it'd probably been a fun match, and
I think it'll be a fun match, But Coda has

(16:32):
just come out of working some really crazy matches with
Save Engage, and Coda has that violence in him. He
has that that gang mentality you know that he's escaped from,
but he still has that in him. And I don't

(16:55):
know if he's just you know, I don't think he's
going to come and try and have a fun match
with with with with Chico and and and I like
that because Chico also has a mean streak. It's just
harder to bring out. And I think Coda is going
to bring that out on him, come him, uh this Saturday.

(17:15):
So I'm hoping for something that might start a little
nice and turn off kind of nasty.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yeah, that that's safe to bet. That's a safe bet there.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
And for Chico just coming from where he was like
a year ago, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
You know.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
He would you a Frank the Clown and obviously with
that the canary Frank the Clown Trevor outlaw, and so
he came out, he came out on top from that.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
All that cursing or no cursing, you're can curse, but
Frank the Clown, that's it. That's that's the whole story.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
What about Trevor.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Him too?

Speaker 2 (17:50):
I know, I think I gave you great pleasure one
time you had a Trevor in the rain. You got
to say something to him. Yeah, part of your announcement.
I forget what it was.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
It was, it was it was more Frank I got,
I've got I finally got was able to give. Frank
has come up and say after about two years of
dealing with him in uh Ego, and uh, yeah, there's
there's nobody in this business right now in where I work.
So in the Chicago scene. For me, uh that I

(18:23):
love to hate more than Trevor and Frank, I know.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
And you're not alone.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
And you know what, that's a beautiful thing, because that's
that's that's rustling. Yes, definitely, they're making me emotional in
some way, shape or form. They're making me invested in
some way, shape or form, and that's money.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
When you look at some of the other matches, I've
got GPA versus Hunk Cassidy.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
That's two veterans going at it.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
So that really excited me. I think that got announced
yesterday or maybe the day before, and uh, you know,
I immediately share it and said, you know, I'm really
excited for this match. As you know, I was excited
for all the matches, but this took it to a
different level for me. And that might not be for everyone.
You know, everyone might now look at this match and go,
oh man, But for me, Gpa has been out I

(19:15):
think almost a year with an injury and didn't even
like stayed at home, didn't go to shows with Laney,
didn't come and hang out. He just disappeared for a
year because he was hurt, and so I didn't even
get to see him. He wasn't on the last benefit show.
I haven't seen the dude in over a year, and

(19:36):
you know, he's again a guy I love to hate
and but he's you know, he's he's fantastic in the ring.
And Hunk Cassidy is a guy who has gotten a
couple little like pre match show shots and stuff at
Freelance and then has been working behind the scenes a
lot at Feelance and then training at Freelance Academy. And

(19:58):
he's been gone for a while. He's been bound for
a couple of years from our ring, and so for me,
that's meaningful for them both to be back at kind
of the same time. I know GPA did a multi
person match last month, if I if I remember correctly,
But for you know, a singles match now and Hank's
first single match in a long time. I don't know

(20:21):
what it's going to look like, but I'm here for
it and I'm hoping both of them get to like
bring themselves back into the spot by Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Honk is a big guy, like he's very his size
and demeanor and his size and stature very intimidating.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
So he was one of those guys when he first
started doing precial matches and stuff for us. The crowd
loved him. He was immediately over. And you know, if
we want to go into another match, the other person
who's doing that right now, who is who was instantly
over and is crazy over right now? Trent Wrigley.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
Yes, definitely, Yeah, the crowd loves him and you know
he's he's putting in good work and he has a
match on the show as well.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Yea, and you could probably enlighten us to that.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Well, yeah, he's facing Trevor Outlaw, his nemesis, his rival,
and the guy who took him out. I mean you
had to be there and you had to announce that
Trent Wrigley is no longer imagined instead it's Trevor. I mean,
how did that feel for you to have to say
that Trevor right in your face and everything?

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, you know what, it's Uh, it's never fun, you know,
to deal with Trevor and Frank. But you know, I'm
a professional. I have to do what I have to do,
and you know I can like not like all I want,
angry whatever it is. And at the end of the day,

(21:56):
and you know, within a minute or a thirty second,
I have a job to do. And uh, you know,
I'm gonna always do it to the best of my
professional nature, but you'll still possibly hear a little bit
of contempt in my voice if if I'm not if
I'm not feeling it, you can still hear a little

(22:19):
bit for sure.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yes, And so obviously this has been vinally has been
ruined since that happened a couple of months ago, and
they're finally gonna go at it one on one where
it happened originally, the Logo square Edatorium. So I'm excited
to see these two square off and what you're what
you're feeling about this.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
My feeling is as much of a competitor that Trevor is.
And I will give him that. Uh, Trent needs to
worry about Frank. Yeah, Frank. Frank is a game changer.
And again I'll give him that. Hate the guy, but

(23:03):
he's a game changer for Trent. He was a game
changer for Ego. Man. You know all the cliches right
eyes in the back of your head, you know stuff
like that, Like Trent is, you know, he's fighting two
guys for all all you know, imagining of what's actually

(23:23):
really happening.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, it's gonna be a tough one, but I think
Trent will come out on top and he will prevail
against Trevor Outlaw. He's younger, and he's you know, a
little younger. I'm not saying like, oh, it's like, you know,
a discrumcy of like a decade or so.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
I'm just saying he's got he's fresher, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
He's kind of like a different vibe than him, a
fresher vibe than Trevor Outlaw.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
You know, I think he's just less than a year
out of the Academy. Yeah, getsuse. I don't think he
was out of the Academy at the last benefit show,
or if he was, it was barely So yeah, you know,
he's he's a younger dude. He's a fresh guy to
Rustling still, and he needs this win. And maybe he

(24:10):
doesn't need this win, but if he gets this win,
that will be huge for him. He's already at a
level where people just love, love, love him, and that's
just a lot about who he is, yes, but now
if he pulls this off, it'll be about what he

(24:31):
can do and that will bring you know, the faith
and the love that people have for him to such
a higher level.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Definitely.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
We know Trevor is in search for that Red Star
Medallion so he can get an opportunity to Freelance Championship.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
So he needs more more win than a scramble.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yeah, and yes, yeah, we have the Red Medallion Championship
or there's a Red Medallion in Red Star Medallion. If
you win a scramble, you get the Red Start Medallion.
If you get three of those in a row, right
in a row or three, yeah, then you get you know,

(25:13):
it's basically a money in the bank. You get to
pick you pick your poison, pick your champion, or pick
any type any shot. I don't think it necessarily has
to be a title shot, but yeah, so you know
Trevor is very very close to that. You know, he's
he's on his way and yeah, well we'll see what happens.

(25:35):
He's not, he's not in the Scramble this month.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
No, you've got the Freelance Tag Team Championships Triple Threat match.
And how did it feel to announce that Bany and
Matthews are finally the Freelance champions again?

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Afterwards? It all fired.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
I've you know, I've I've watched them since the beginning.
Now and you know, two skinny little kids, you know,
because that's what they were many they weren't wrestlers, they
were just skinny little kids. And then they just worked
and worked on their craft. And I'm sure everybody knows

(26:13):
the term, you know, forty milers, and if not, I'll explain.
Rustlers who don't try and work outside of their area
are often called forty milers. They'll they'll work within a
forty mile radius of where they live, but they won't
try and go out any farther than that. And as

(26:35):
soon as Bang and Matthews started to get popular they
started taking those bookings, they were not forty milers. Man,
they were going all over the place. And now they
continue to. You know, GCW will bring them into different
towns and you know, I'm pretty sure they probably worked

(26:56):
in Minnesota and probably worked in Iowa, so you know,
they definitely get around. And yeah, I'm very happy for them.
I love I love watching them. People have their best
matches against them, like you know what I mean. They
elevate people as well. You know, you'll have a tag

(27:16):
team they'll come in and it'll be like, okay, yeah,
I've heard of these guys. They're kind of cool, and
then they'll have a match with you know, Banging Matthews
and they're like, oh, okay, now I saw what these
guys could do because they had to face Bang and
Mathews and uh, you know, they elevate people and they
make people look good and and you know sometimes that

(27:39):
takes a long time for another tag team. You know,
they may be have all this potential, but if they're
not getting the right matches to really show it. And
I feel like I've seen multiple tag teams like start
to really hit their stride after having a Bang Bang
in Matthews match. Yeah, like the New Guys, Yes, that's

(28:00):
I was thinking of in my head the entire time exactly.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
So you think they're gonna come out on top. They've
got the the conduits of Corbyn's knowledge. I'm not going
to say the act. It's kind of weird and white meat.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Yes, yeah, you know it's you add more than what's
supposed to be there, and uh it changed the game.
Uh you know, there's there's three tag teams in there,
not too and you're already got you know, four guys.
Now you've got six guys and uh, you know it's
a different game plan. You have to come at that

(28:36):
match in a very different way. You might not be
involved in the pinfall whatsoever. You can just get taken
out of the decision of the match, and so you
have to constantly like try to be in the match.
But if you're trying to be in the match, you're
also getting more tired, more beat up, so that you

(28:59):
want to actually rest in the match. But if you
rest too long and get taken out, then you're not
there to make the same It's like it's it really
changes the psychology of the match, and I'm very excited
to see how these three teams handle that and what
and what they bring to it. How are they going
to face that challenge?

Speaker 1 (29:18):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
I'm a big fan of White Meat as well. I
think they're really fantastic with the way they work together.
Different kind of a character, you know, the way different styles.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
They're not like polar opposites. It's not like a brawler
and high Fire, but they do have two different work
styles and I like that about them, and two different
personalities and I like that about them.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Same here, same here.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
I wish them the best of luck, and you've got
another match with Save Engage and Laney.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Luck and Laney's coming out one on one.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
I think that's the one I don't know about.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Yeah, that that one got announced a little bit like
a couple of weeks ago ago.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
I might have missed that one in my head. Possibly. Okay,
So save engage h Jesus coming off of a killers
set of matches with Coda Hernandez, bringing cold Hernandez's dad
into the ring and uh, you know, beating mercilessly with

(30:27):
a chair and uh, you know, just blood everywhere from
those two for like months in a row. And you know,
is sab and healed from all that? Is he ready
to do something else? And again, I think he has
to come out of that the same way I was
describing Coda, more violent, more it's still angry, right, you know,

(30:52):
he came out more on the losing end of that feud,
so he now he's got to be even angry. Now
he's got to prove himself again. And now he has
to face Laney luck and you know, it's like now
he's got to kind of start over, you know, if
he's going to get back to in the run for
a championship or not. And then you have Laney, who's

(31:14):
very interesting now that the fans are starting to be
fond of her and that hasn't been the case in
a long time. And you can tell that she's not
even quite sure what to do with that yet. So,
you know, will she go full crowd favorite? You know,

(31:35):
will that throw off her game? The fact that people
are cheering for her and not and not doing because
all of that matters. If you guys don't think it matters,
it does. While you're in there, everything that's happening around
you matters, and so it'll be interesting to see how

(31:55):
that match goes.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yeah, I think she's gonna feed off the crowd and
a terror managerer savings save. It's tough though, you know,
he's one of those guys I can you know, come
at all angles of you.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
You know, Yeah, he's a he's a great high fire
high flyer. Uh, he can take a beating. We saw
that with Coda. He can give a beating. We saw
that with Coda. He's definitely becoming a multi tool wrestler.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
He has that lutal libre style, but he doesn't rely
on it solely. And that's good. You know, it's great
to have that in your back pocket, but you have
to be able to switch when you need to switch,
and uh, you know, if someone's going toe to toe
with you, your Lutuleri style may not be a great

(32:43):
benefit to you right in that moment. But he can
go toe to toe with you as well.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yeah, yes, he can strike and can yeah you know,
mix it up when I need to. And we've got
Alfonso Gonzalez and Kevin Ku and we rarely see Kevin
Kou do like single magic. Usually he's with his tag
team partner. I believe they're both healthy, right, Is his
tag partner healthy.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Now or I believe they are. But the funny thing is,
I think in freelance Kevin's probably done more single matches
than he's done tag matches just in freelance alone. In
this area, we see them as tag teams all the time.
Right in Black Label Pro and everywhere else they're a
tag team. But I know that I've worked with Kevin

(33:27):
Ko as a singles wrestler in freelance I Get Bottom
Lounge and other places, so it's like, you know, he's
definitely done that, and he doesn't do it as much.
Like you said, he doesn't do it as much, but
I know I've seen it you know, more than once.
And man, you know, I talk about the the intensity

(33:49):
of Coda and I talk about the intensity of Saban
and then there's Kevin and man and h I don't
want to be in the ring with him, you know.
I mean, I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Hell of

(34:09):
a striker, great submission guy. You know, his partner is
a better submission guy, but he's still a hell submission guy.
And uh, but incredible striker and just and strong style. Uh.
Just a mean son of a bitch that can just

(34:31):
is he can hurt people and uh, you know that's
going to be a real hobstacle to overcome. And I
don't know that Alfonso has faced many of this of
this style of person, of this level of anger and violence.

(34:53):
And uh it's not to say that he hasn't had
some tough matches gone the distance and you know, gotten
beat up and beat people up. I'm not saying that,
but Kevin Ko is going to be a very very
different match for him to uh, to step up to.
I think he's going to. I think he's going to
do very very very well. But man, that's the hell

(35:17):
of a man.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Yeah, better be training and getting prepared, you know, whatever
they're trying to do over there at tiam Alfonso, they
have to step it.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
Up as the sole member of Team Alonzo.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Yes exactly, and you know, a Fonso know you have
to give it up. He did beat Isaiah as Velasquez
and that was his last big victory as well. And
he was recently in the ring with at the at
the at the Freelance Wrestling show at the Emporium, he
defeated I'd leave I Candy Elliott.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
So yes, that was a tough one.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Hunk Cassady was actually in the corner of my Candy
Elliott and he took out Laney Luck with us solid lunch.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Yeah that that night.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Yeah, I didn't. I didn't work that show, and I haven't.
I haven't brought it up on i w TV yet,
but I will at some point. And uh, but yeah,
it's uh Alfonso again, it's it's it's it's going to

(36:21):
be an uphill battle, but I'm really here for it definitely.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
And now were of course we had talked about Coda,
Hernandez and Chico and so yeah, you're right, there's the
six matches we haven't out so far. And and again
at Coda Hernandez versus Chigo. If you had to pick one,
would you go with Hernandez or Chico?

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Hernandez is too hot? I can't. I can't not go
with the hottest guy in Chicago right now.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Yes, Coda Hernandez for sure.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
And I'd really like to see Coda Hernandez even step
out of the freelance ring. There's a lot of great
contenders out there for the Legacy Championship, like you feel
like they will defend that belt in another promotion besides
freelance Wrestling in the future.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
And never know you, Stranger things happen in this magical
business of pro wrestling that we're in and the other
The thing for me is Coda outside of freelance tends
to tag and not work as a singles worker.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
And.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
I think he needs to push being a singles worker
in other places as well, because I think that's where
they're going to see what they need to do with him.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
We've got another guy named Rafael Kintaro has not yet
been at Freelance Wrestling, and we would love to see
I don't know what your thought would be to see
Kintaro and Hernandez one day.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
I think in Taro is amazing. I think him and
Coda are like on the same trajectory right now, you know,
they're kind of on that same path, and for them
to square off at some point I think would be
you know, it would be good for business, and it'd
be good for the fans.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Yes, for sure.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
And there's so many great promotions and out there as well.
And do you have any other promotions you'd like to
plug that you have worked for coming up?

Speaker 3 (38:18):
Certainly? Yeah, you know, I still I still work for
Second Wrestling. I have not worked the past couple of shows, no,
nor will I work any more shows for them this year.
But I am still very tightly affiliated with Second Wrestling.
We just couldn't make the dates work, so I'm not
going to be there for a bit. But yeah, Second

(38:40):
Wrestling doing some great things, and they're doing something really
cool that I just saw today. I think that before
their next show, the Technicolor Dream Wars, they're having a
wrestling card like mini convention before the show been traded
by wrestling cards at the wrestling show, which I think

(39:04):
is amazing for sure.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Man, Well, Kirby the Voice, Alexander, we love having you
on the PW report and not everybody know the details
for the show No Cuts, No Glory this Saturday.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
Make sure to be there on August.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
And so I've got one other thing to say. Well, Also,
I'd be remiss if I didn't also say that All
Star Wrestling is another company that I'm working for regularly,
but I haven't gotten back to in a couple of months,
again because of personal issues. But you know, I kind
of also have to say this, all these shows that

(39:43):
I couldn't do, someone has to do them, right. So
Jason Midas stepping up in freelance so many times for me,
Alex Storm stepping up and taking over my All Star
bookings and now starting to get his own bookings with
Ego Pro, and now this new kid who just came

(40:03):
out of nowhere, like, hey, I want to learn how
to be a ring announcer and veto Tito. James Russo
calls him Don Vito, and he's got like three or
four shows under his belt right now, and he's actually
going to share the ring with me. We're going to
share the responsibilities for No Cut Snow Glory Awesome. So

(40:26):
I'm really happy to have these kids that I'm working
with and teaching the business too. I'm very proud of
all of them. And if I'm gonn say I'm proud
of people that I've worked with, I have to mention
vol Capone as well. But I have a nice group
of other ring announcers I've been able to pass wisdom
onto throughout the years. But before we finished talking about

(40:52):
no Cut snow Glory, I'm actually going to give you
a scoop that there's less than ten people that know
about this currently and no fans know about it when
the public does not know about it. But Henry Hank,

(41:13):
magic Man, Jasper. People know him by different names. He's
a photographer videographer from Wisconsin. He's done a lot of
work with Warrior, who I still work for Warrior as well.
We got a show coming up in October and Milwaukee.
I'll be working that show as well. But so I've
known I've known Hank for a few years and uh,

(41:37):
he reached out to me about two months ago that
he was he was doing some work for some other
film producers and they challenged him if you were going
to do like a piece that really really meant something
to you, like a documentary that and something to you

(42:00):
that you felt needed to be brought to the rest
of the world. And uh he took on that challenge
and said the only thing he could think of, the
story that had to be told was mine.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
And uh so we started filming yesterday. Like I said,
no one knows about this yet, and yeah, we just
started filming yesterday. And it's basically my last two or
three years that we talked about just now. It's it's
it's the heart, it's the fire. Uh and it's you know,
my relationship with pro wrestling, and it's it's it's it's

(42:40):
it's gonna be pretty cool. You're gonna see me, You're
gonna see me be pretty vulnerable. You know. I go
back into the house where it happened, and I retell
the story of how I had to get saved. While
I'm standing in a broken house that doesn't have walls
and doesn't have ceilings. I get very emotional, and you know,

(43:03):
my wife, you know, tells how hard it was to
be a single parent while I was in the hospital
for eighty three days. And so you know, you're going
to see a lot of just us putting it out
out there. You know, we're just letting everybody know what's
going on, and it's going to have and he's going

(43:26):
to be interviewing other people and uh, you know, bringing
all bringing those kind of people in. But filming with
him yesterday and and his buddy Mike as well. Man
Henry magic Man as I like to call him or
Hank uh is such a special dude. And what I

(43:48):
asked for permission about twenty minutes ago, if I could,
if I could let this out into the world, and
he gave me the permission. I'm like, you know, I'm
just gonna spend the whole time putting you over because
when the movie comes out, people can care about me.
But as I'm talking about the movie being made, I'm
only doing what he tells me, you know what I mean.

(44:10):
He's the director, he's the creator, he's you know, and
he's absolutely phenomenal. The knowledge he has about film, the
knowalogy has about the equipment that he's using, the story
he's trying to tell in the way he's trying to
tell it, and you know, stories our best when they
have rises and falls and all that that he's building

(44:33):
into it is amazing. And you know, we don't know
what's going to happen to this film. We know it's
going to be made, and it could be a YouTube video,
it could be shown in art houses. I don't know,
and you know, neither of us know, and we don't care.
He wanted to tell the story and I'm happy to
have my story told and whatever comes from it, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Yeah, but you got scoop just now. Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
I appreciate you, and that's I'm so glad.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
I can't wait to see that myself. You know.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
I love those kind of documentaries and stuff from behind
the scenes and you know, kind of showing the personal
life of the wrestlers and the people we enjoy seeing
entertainment and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (45:18):
So I love it.

Speaker 3 (45:18):
I appreciate that very much. Thank you. But yeah, no
cust no glory this Saturday night, August twenty third, at
Logan Square Auditorium. Tickets are on sale right now. Uh
freelance Wrestling dot Com. Is that right?

Speaker 1 (45:33):
Yeah, I believe. So that's where I got from.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Yet, Yeah, I believe. So if not, go on the socials.
You can find them on all the socials and they'll
be links and uh, you know, pick up some tickets
man and come out, and you know, I'm not going
to say, you know, pick up some tickets and you know,
support me monetarily, but again, just come out and have
a good time with me, man, and celebrate the fact
that I'm still alive, and celebrate the fact that, you know,

(45:57):
my family is surviving. You know, this tragedy. It's not
that much about the money. The money will help, but
the support and the love means so much more. And
the fact that Isaiah's decided to call this show no cuts,
no glory obviously a pun using the fact that I'm

(46:18):
becoming a barber. And I tell you, I know nothing
until they do it. I was sitting at work slash
school and scrolling for a minute through Facebook because I
didn't have a client, and I saw the show. I
knew the benefit was coming, didn't know what it was
going to be called, and I damn near cried on

(46:39):
the floor. You know, It's just it just hit me
in that way. I'm like the fact that they're doing
the show, and then the fact that he ties it
into my future, into what I'm becoming, and man, that
that hit different.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
I'll tell you that, no, I can only imagine that's
and I love the love the whole design.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
Hope it's got the barber poles.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
Yeah, it's It's fantastic, So I can't wait to hear
you of course the voice uh Kirbie Alexanders Saturday night
and everybody should be there at no cuts, no glory
at Freelance Wrestling. We appreciate you taking the time giving
us your thoughts on these matches for the PW Report,
and these matches I feel like, are uh a celebration
of of what you've you know, what's going out here,

(47:28):
so so I love hearing your side of it as well.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
So I appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Yeah, man, thanks for having me on again.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
I love your brother, same time. Take care of brother.
