In todays Episode of Invited Talk, we have with us a dynamic personality and educationalist Dr. V. Jayashree. A brief write up about Dr. V. Jayashree Subrahmanyam is as follows , She is an Independent Educational Professional. She is a Master’s in Economics, Mphil in Education [a cross cultural study in The Netherlands, Eritrea and the UK] and a PhD in Special Education. She holds certificates in five levels of FRENCH language. She is a resident of Mumbai. Her notable experiences comprise, ONLINE tutoring to a learning disabled , pursuing a diploma in Electrical Engineering, training teachers to work with diverse disabled children, teach music to disabled children from ages, 4 to 18, imparting sessions in ENGLISH language, for 150 candidates of Rajasthan State Service examination in Jhujhunu district, Rajasthan, imparting Community Education at Kamrajnagar, near the suburb of Ghatkopar, Mumbai, as visiting professor for IGNOU sessions held at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Panvel, State of Maharashtra and as visiting professor in the disciplines of Economics, English, Special education and Education, in various educational institutions and Universities in Mumbai, working with diverse disabled learners in Mumbai and imparting training and class room practices to teachers in special and mainstream schools. Her overseas experiences are in both special and mainstream schools in the UK, The Netherlands and Eritrea [East Africa]. Her areas of principal interest and expertise include academic research, teacher training, classroom practices and supervision. She takes keen interest in developing people and is instrumental in building capacity, wherever she has worked. Her other publications are: 1. ‘Why Foreign Aid?’ in the monthly journal ‘SPAN’
2. Inclusive Education for Students with Learning Disabilities in Mainstream schools
3. ‘Process based practices for’, learning language and communication skills, for learners with Specific learning disabilities [SpLD] in Mainstream schools
4. Theory generation: Research based on different approaches linked to practice and professional context
5. An overwhelming trip to five countries in ten days

She has a short tenure of three years with the Reserve bank of India, Mumbai. She is the holder of distinction award for the best Volunteer with diverse disabled learners, both young and adults. She is a topper at the University in M.A [Economics] part I. She holds certificates in five levels of FRENCH language. She is a Musician. She is a passionate and an adventurous traveller, within India and abroad. Her recent overseas journey was, from March17 to 28, 2017, visiting five countries, Norway, Germany, Austria, Demark and Sweden. In these 10 days she took 11 flights and was the only Indian and an Indian lady too. Commencing her journey, she took four flights in one day: Mumbai to Frankfurt, in Germany, Frankfurt to Oslo, the capital of Norway, Oslo to Tromso and Tromso to Hammerfest, the Norwegian towns.
