(00:25):
Hello, I'm Gary Quinn. Welcometo another episode of Ready Set Live.
My guest today is Patricia Mensink. For the past thirty years, Patricia has
made Amsterdam, Holland her home, dedicating her life to transforming the lives of
others as a counselor, life coachand life changer. Fourteen years ago,

(00:48):
Patricia expanded her reach by launching theradio show All Awareness, which aired approximately
eight hundred episodes. Five years ago, she also took her vision and to
weekly television with the live show AllAwareness TV, featuring guests from all over
the world. With her commitment topersonal growth, she continues to be a

(01:11):
beacon of hope and a catalyst forchange in the lives of many. Don't
go away, I'll be right backwith Patricia Mensinc. Welcome to this show.
Patricia. Thank you Gary. It'sso great to see you again after
seeing you in Amsterdam, you know, and I was really thrilled that you

(01:34):
were able to do the show becauseI know you've been so busy doing so
many shows. And how did howdid it start for you, the spiritual
journey for you? When did it? When was the catalyst for you to
start this process? The process startedwhen I was really young. When I

(02:00):
was a young girl, I wasalways asking questions. I was the little
girl at school that asked the historyteacher, m what about? How is
this? How is that? Andit just turned out for many years,
and as I progressed in life,of course, I had many challenges and

(02:24):
I started to work. I didan education in communication and I started to
work at first at the police, but I was there as a communication expert,
and every time the whole spiritual pathjust took It was just there.

(02:45):
And I remember one day my momjust told me, Tricia, it is
something you just have and just seeif you can do your thing with it.
And maybe Gary or other people knowthat at the point when you just
have to do your thing with it, a lot of things happen to you.

(03:06):
So I've been doing lots of research, many educations, and a lot
of life experiences. Trust me tofind out what my path is and was.
I know that you know many people, not just in Holland, but
around the world, they're searching forsomething. I think it's to really find

(03:31):
their authentic self. What have youfound with individuals that you either coach or
that you've had in alliance to onyour show. What's been the theme with
some of these people, Well, what's been the theme of everybody is that

(03:51):
that's true. Everybody's looking for something. And also I see that the big
question is is who are am I? We tried to find it in religion,
we tried to find it in otherpeople. But at the end of
the at the road, it isall about what is my truth? And

(04:13):
for all the people that I met, I had the pleasure to interview thousands
and thousands of people. Everybody hasand try is trying to find their own
truth. I think that is maybethe key word. Gary. Yes.
And so when you were looking atthis to help people, did you find

(04:39):
that your What was your biggest challengeto overcome during this process? One of
my biggest challenge was was a personalpath. What I always say is that
when you are being a help, when you are walking the path to be

(05:05):
there for other people, to makethem aware, to unfold their spirituality,
it means that everything that the peoplethat you help are coping with, you
have to cope yourself. So that'salso what happened to me. So I've
been to the loneliness, I've beento poverty, I've been to sickness.

(05:30):
I've been to all those things andevery time again, a lot of times
I felt like, oh, thisis so difficult, but I felt every
time, okay, Patricia, youneed to stand up again. And there
was always some kind of light andthat gave me, I don't know the

(05:54):
strength to go on and on andon and yeah, maybe that's my strength.
Good. I think everybody has achallenge that they are working through.
What do you what do you tellpeople or why do people have issues with
really finding true happiness? You know, I think a lot of people are

(06:17):
not happy. I found that alot of people in Holland seem happy as
opposed as opposed to the UK,there was a lot of complaining where I
found in Holland people were pretty Idon't know, they were happy. Have
you found working with different cultures thatyou see the shift. I know Dutch

(06:40):
people seem to have an innate kindof like, let's keep going, let's
let's keep you know, positive.Yeah, I think so. But what
I see is I also work witha lot of cultures within Holland, and
what I see is that, youknow, the term happy is also keep

(07:01):
going because there is nothing else, and sometimes being happy is just as little
as in Holland, especially now oradays, there's a lot of rain, so
it is the sun that's shining. But don't forget that there are a lot
of people that are also really unhappy. And during all my studies and all

(07:29):
the people that I'm helping, Ido understand where it comes from. What's
what's been the most important lesson thatyou've learned in this in this journey so
far, the most important lesson,Gary is to be humble and and and

(07:53):
to be humble is something else thento be, for example, submissive.
There's there's a big difference, butit's always be humble. You know what
I see with a lot of peoplesometimes they are doing really good in life
and everything goes well, they havea great relationship also in spirituality and business

(08:16):
wise, and then they forget. Then the ego goes on. And for
me, being humble all the timeand of course be grateful, very grateful,
that are the two glues that makeeverything. Yeah, in perspective,

(08:37):
you know, it's very interesting whenyou said the ego. You know,
I think that's one of the majorthings that keeps people going back to the
negative side of themselves after they've beenin a success, their ego takes over
and then they lose whatever authenticity theyhad in their lives. But they sometimes

(09:03):
continue to look outside themselves instead ofgoing within. And I think going within
is one of the biggest things thatis scary for many people because then they
have to look at themselves. AndI think gratitude is really the key to
heal a lot of things and sortof take a person out of the ego.

(09:28):
What does the word gratitude mean foryou? The word gratitude mean for
me, it's everything because without gratitude, and maybe this is a strong word
to say, gary, but withoutgratitude, for me, there's nothing I
am. Gratitude has makes you humble, but it also makes you strong.

(09:58):
It also makes you power, Itmakes you a human, It makes you
caring, so it makes you somany things. As far as the word
love, what does love mean toyou? How would you describe that?
If someone asks you what love is? I love the word love. I

(10:30):
think love is is something that makesyour heart grow and I love I have
a beautiful son, I have beautifulpeople around me, and love makes you
soft. Love is the difference betweenbeing sarkasic, being hateful, being depressed

(11:01):
when you find love then, yeah, it makes everything softer in life.
How did you come up with theI know it started as a radio show
all awareness. How did it translateinto from radio to television? Oh,

(11:24):
that's an amazing that's such a funnystory. So I was doing lots of
TV radio shows, so for manyyears. So I had two radio shows
every Tuesday and every Saturday, andthen I had around four guests, so
eight to ten guests a week. That was amazing. So one day the
network producers said, maybe it'd benice to do something like an English breakfast

(11:50):
TV. Do you know that concept? Do you know what it is?
Yes? Okay. So I wasin the studio with the little camera and
then in the other studio there weretwo people and they were talking, so
it was kind of an interview, and I was in the other side.

(12:11):
So there was this little camera andwe were doing the interview, and at
a certain point the cleaning men cameinside and it was like it was almost
hilarious. This is something what yousee in some kind of comedy movie.
Anyway, so they were at theother side. And then the next week

(12:33):
the director of the broadcast company,he said, Patricia, we have to
do it different. You have tobe in front of the camera, because
we see that when you're in frontof the camera, something happens. She
shine and Gary. You have tounderstand, I have been doing radio for
many, many years and it wasalways about other people. And all of

(12:56):
a sudden, this director told me, but you should go in front of
the camera. And I was like, okay, and I just did it,
and you know, that was justit, and that's how it started.
I love it. I love it. What's the ultimate purpose of Patricia.

(13:16):
What's your purpose that you want tocomplete in this lifetime? What I
want to complete, of course mybook one, two three. I've been
writing two books and I really reallyneed to publish them. Well, as
you see behind me are some ofmy paintings, and in the past I've

(13:37):
been doing some great expositions, sothat's also something. And what I would
really love is for me also togo all over the world and you know,
tell people about your inner strength, about the light that is within you.

(13:58):
Yeah. I think at the endend of my life, I hope
that people will say, hey, that Patricia, she really made a change,
She helped made a positive change inthis world. I know you were
recently in Glastonbury, UK. Whatwas that like. I've never been there,

(14:18):
but I hear it's quite magical. It's amazing. I was never there.
It was really on my bucket list, Gary, I wanted to visit
Stonehetch but it was so commercial,so I didn't go there, but I
did visit the tour. I visiteda lot of the cathedral. I visited

(14:39):
the Charlie's Wells and the energy overthere. It makes you go back to
maybe two thousand years ago when therewas just magic and maybe, as you
know, Glastonbury it is the landof Merlin, Merlin the Sorcerer, so

(15:01):
that was also a feeling that itgave me. So, yeah, it's
absolutely something to go to. IfI said, who has been the biggest
influencer in your life so far?Who has influenced you in your work?
You mean like really famous people,it can be Yeah, your mother,

(15:24):
your uncle, you're a famous person, a spiritual teacher, anyone. Yeah.
Well, to start with, maybethat's a little bit of a cliche,
but when I was young, alittle girl, I was always with
my grandmother. And my grandmother she'sCatholic. I was raised really strict Catholic

(15:45):
and she inspired me many many timesto also go and walk my spiritual path.
So she inspired me to awaken thespiritual in me. That was my
grand So that's her and going myway. There were many many inspirers for

(16:11):
me. I've been following many people. I can just right now say,
okay, that's the maybe that teacher, that teacher, because of course I
also mastered Master Joshua, but alsoShakya Mundi and many many others, and
they were all really important for meto walk this journey. I think we

(16:33):
take nuggets of wisdom from everyone andthen we incorporated. Yeah, we incorporated
into our own lives. Yeah.If you could go back into history,
Patricia and speak to someone not livinganymore, who would it be and what
would you ask them? I thinkmaybe Jean of arc Huh, I would

(17:02):
because she stands for proudness, andyeah, I would ask her what is
it that gave you the strength tobe who you are? Yeah, that
will be the one. I think. Now, talk to me about your
new venture, which is Patricia meetsLife Changer. What does that show about?

(17:25):
That's a new TV show? Becausewith awareness, I had many many
guests, as you already said, from all over the world. And then
I thought, okay, what canI do? So my own company is
changed my life story, and Ithought, there are so many life changes
in the world, small, big, but all of them really really important.

(17:51):
So my new show is about peopleeverybody, young, ault of all
nationalities who make a different friends intheir own life or in the lives of
others. And this is an amazing, amazing show. It's every Friday night,
Primetime at A thirty for thirty minutes, and I'm just going to talk

(18:12):
to whoever's on the show about theirlife and the change that they make in
this world. Because you know,at this point right now, Gary,
I feel that we need to upliftthe people that bring light instead of the

(18:32):
people that bring darkness. Absolutely well, I am so excited to see this
show and to see you again. It was so much, so much fun
to hang out with you, andthank you for driving me back to my
hotel. Oh yeah, I so, I am really looking forward to seeing
you back in Amsterdam, and ofcourse I hope to welcome you in the

(18:55):
studio as well to be one ofmy life changers. Well, hopefully you'll
have your book out by then, which will be next year. You must
finish. Your intention is to finishthe book and get that into publication.
Yeah, that's something. My focusis to make sure that it's been done

(19:17):
at the end of this year.Okay, excellent, we'll put that intention
together. Yes. Well, people, if they want to reach you,
they can see you at Instagram atPatricia Mensink, or they can go to
wwwallwareness dot org and watch the shows. And thank you so much for spending
this time with me, and Ilook forward to seeing you very soon and

(19:42):
have a great rest of your day. Thank you so much, Gary for
this opportunity and good luck, andwe'll see each other soon. I'm Gary
Quinn. Thank you for joining meon this special edition of Ready Set Live.
