A Talk Show That Matters In such a troubled world, it's sometimes hard to trust the media. I hope my show will change your perspective. The REAL DON SMITH SHOW is a talk show that features real news and entertainment that will unite communities. My goal is to heal unrest and bring people together through talk radio. When you listen and call in to my show, you won't find ridicule. I believe that people have a right to say whatever they want to, and together we'll make it work. Stop worrying about offending or being offended, and start really communicating and healing our community by listening to the REAL DON SMITH SHOW. Don's Road to Success I've had an amazing life, full of successes as well as failures. I played ball for the University of Washington, was in the US military, and then ended up homeless. Today, I'm a licensed therapist who uses my past life experiences to inspire others. In the early 2000s, I started doing talk radio in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area. People told me it was the best show they've ever heard. In 2006, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and worked on other projects. My current radio show is based on civility—I explore issues rather than taking a side, as I prefer to let my audience hear the facts about something and then decide for themselves what they believe. Participate In Community-Focused Discussions As a licensed therapist, I often work with people suffering from mental illnesses and drug and alcohol addiction. I discuss these issues as they often cause problems, like crime, within the community. I also like to talk about politics, religion, education, the military, and finance; and I try to lighten the mood with sports and entertainment coverage, too. It Starts With Positive Communication One of the major problems with the world today is a tendency for people to close their minds, replacing facts and truth with their own opinions. I fight against this by being honest, straightforward, and by using my background and training to help people communicate positively, even when they're feeling negative.
