Speaker 5 (02:27):
I appreciate, appreciate, appreciate that. Appreciate that. Man, we spent
all day yesterday listening to your music. That's why we
had to get you on this platform asapp Man, Hey,
you dance all got it and you got it buffing
around here in the lyrics. Man, Look, we were just
talking about dance song in this in this place and

(02:47):
in the music scene, you know, saying compared to reggae,
and a lot of people say that dance all lyrics
ain't but they don't have consciousness. And no, man, you
come to proving that to be fault that you you
can put conscious lyrics with dancehall music. Man, tell me, man, like,
what would you mind? How did you do that?

Speaker 7 (03:09):
Well? After those things? Positive? You know, it's about the thinking,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (03:15):
If you think positive, any more positive words, I go
come fire?

Speaker 7 (03:20):
Understand, So you wo think positive about that time?

Speaker 5 (03:26):
That's real man. See a lot of people don't understand that.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Man.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
It's about the mindset. It ain't about it ain't about
the beat, man, It's about the mindset behind the artists
and the lyric lyrics.

Speaker 7 (03:41):
Yeah, we're not, we're not. I tell our girls say
for sure our body parts and you know what I mean,
we can't talk to our nights. Some really love you
know what I mean? So yeah, I'm a positive thinking.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Exactly exactly man, tell me how they growing up in
red heels road like influence your approaching music and the
things in your songs.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
O't row you know, and quality grew up out our
musical you know what I mean?

Speaker 7 (04:15):
A lot of giants that is a flu a gun.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
You name it. It's it's an amazing ceiling.

Speaker 7 (04:22):
You know, just to watch those giants do their acts.
You know, it's inspire me. Yeah, mae. It it's rough,
but you know you have to survive, have to survive,
you know. So yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Man, survive. Man, that that person who a lot of
the actually entails because you know, they go through it
like a flat tire or something like that, and all
of a sudden, now they're they're going some living. It's
a different different and that mind mine making music is

(05:08):
going to use it. It's going to show. It's going
to show itself. So like who your biggest musical influences
and how they shake you sound.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
My biggest influences are Sanchez and we anyone, you know.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
It. They tend to ship my soul in a in
a unique style, in a unique way, you know what
I mean. But kind of song like now we are about
you can hear the soul. Yeah, quality of.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
Being own so one understand, so well, combine my soul
and their songs together.

Speaker 7 (05:46):
I'll make it unique, own mine new soul. Now, so
that's quality, man.

Speaker 8 (05:52):
I hear you on that, man, how you actually make
or you know a lot of like hot heart beat
and and like take from T take use you that
way listening you, I can hear.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
A lot of influence. But actually it's like, all right,
this is this is I'm going to do it to
Like how how did you like your processes? Never coming
up with the song and you're thinking about what you
want to get your instrum? How does that work? All right?

Speaker 7 (06:29):
First of all, monomally like listen to bid for a
couple of days, you know, the bead kind of swalk
into my brain. Then no, just think of a topic.
Think of a topic that we can write some lyrics to,
you know.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
What I mean?

Speaker 7 (06:48):
Yeah, man, So that's that's my way of creating my art.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
Okay, never you create your art, you say it, just
how does that want? Their pushes you creating like the
other project? Like in order to keep different information in
order to make a way rounded album or project. Yes,

(07:20):
I do.

Speaker 7 (07:20):
I do that as well. You know, and I do
that as well.

Speaker 9 (07:25):
I do.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
We listen to some of their musics, and you know,
it's not a problem taking from it what is whole,
we use it, understand, So I do. I don't see
any problem with that.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Right, I hear you. And whenever you you listening to
an artist, what are you listening for?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Like?

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Are you listening for like the cadence? Are you listening
for the vocabulary, the lyrics, the trend or how do
you what do you honey? And or whenever you're listening
to one of your artists, one of your favorite artists, all.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
Right, we listen to their lyrics, the vocabulary.

Speaker 7 (08:13):
And the way hold they put across their lyrics. So
that is that is what mainly I listen.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
For, okay. And then so they delivery and with their delivery,
do you like like strong delivery or because I listened
to a few of your songs, you've got different deliveries
on a couple of you can come with a soft delivery,
you can come with a strong delivery. What's your preferred delivery?
What's the delivery that you feel the strongest about.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
Well, the delivery it's alepends and the vibe, you know,
the alepenspan the vibe and the type of sun bringing
our cross. So if it's a song that you have
to put that chump deliver in it, foe those deliver
by that sound, you know what I mean. And if
it's a sound weird, fee those calm and relax and

(09:13):
sing it.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Yeah okay, okay, okay, I feel that, you know what
I'm saying. Like some people come with like different mixtures.
Like I've heard people come on songs where you listening
to the beat the instrumental and you're thinking they about
to just come on strong, and then all of a
sudden they come on singing like it's like hmm okay,

(09:38):
I mean it's still nice. It's still nice.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
Rhythm them give vibes, you know what I mean. So
it be its fan of vibes and the rhythm.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
You work out for that.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
Facts right exactly exactly, Like do you whenever you go
to the studio, do you bring like a friend or
maybe like a little female friend or something like that
to like help you to guide you, Like let's say
they listen to it before you actually go in and
record it before you Almost.

Speaker 7 (10:10):
That is almost yeah, I feel and I mean them
saying in our life to it better than I want see.
I feel.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Yeah, I feel that. I feel that right there exactly
like you know, you need that extra ear, especially somebody
who isn't an artist, but who's a music consumer, who
could tell you this is what the streets is feeling
or no, the streets ain't feeling that. Have you ever
had any projects where it was like turn that down, man,
don' don't do that. Don't scrap all of that.

Speaker 7 (10:44):
Never, so you be hitting fire every time, you know,
I just prepared myself so I when I put myself
in out of that spot there.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
Right is that I feel you on that you scrap
it before we get a chance to listen to it, like, nah,
this ain't here. We're gonna do We're gonna do this.

Speaker 7 (11:06):
We form an evil performer, evil go to the studio,
gonna make even ten people listen this song before my
God is to the recorded because you know I miss
oh my God to your conic.

Speaker 9 (11:20):

Speaker 10 (14:28):
Exactly right, I feel that a hoodie percent Now when
it comes to.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Your lyrics, you know this is an active dancehall. Isn't
just music, you know, it's it's a lifestyle. You know,
you you you have to be at the club scene.
You got to be at the party scene. You got
to be where it's happening at all times in order
to keep your name in there and to let people
know that you want to listen to my music because
you want to have a good time and my music

(14:55):
helps you have a good time. What do you like?
How do you go with day? You're day by day
in order to keep yourself in the stream of positivity
while at the same time in the dance hall scene,
with the club scene and things of that nature that
a lot of people say are like negative and things
of that nature. How do you keep your positivity up?

Speaker 7 (15:19):
Well, my try my besting on.

Speaker 6 (15:21):
We keep myself virrol and positive people, you know, try
to keep our violance at the times, you know, yeah,
you know, really cheer your friend with me. I do
always stick to my room, you know, so I don't
treate positiveness.

Speaker 7 (15:41):
Man, Well you're not negative.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Now tell me you say you surround yourself with positive
people at all times. Give us some tell us about
your your your circle, about the people who you choose
to be around with you most of the time because
you know that their vibes are always going and to
keep you uplifted. Tell us to introduce us to your circle.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Well, my my circle is a very small circle. You know,
our few friends.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
I'm a family. Then you understand, I know everybody I
think you see, I mean like, oh man thinks so
you know I saw, we keep it.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
I feel that. And you say you're a family man,
Are you a father?

Speaker 7 (16:26):
No, I'm not that that yet. You know it's in
the making.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
It's in the making. I got you. You got to
lady that they keep you arounding.

Speaker 7 (16:46):
Yeah, you know, I feel a special lid man, you know,
I feel aliated beside me.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
Yeah. Man, that's real, that's real right there. You know
what I'm saying, a lot of people don't understand the
power of love, man, and and hopefully that's not a
dying art. So like what do you have, like what
can you tell the youth now about having that like
that special person you know what I'm saying, and looking
forward to having started the family one day.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
Well, I would like to tell you them this, you know,
said to have a special person by your side.

Speaker 7 (17:23):
It's very important because sometime YO have some things you
said to some people. Boy, you don't know who.

Speaker 9 (17:34):
To go to.

Speaker 6 (17:35):
Have your partner, you understand, So that is the best
way to go about with it. Speak with your partner,
share things with their partner. I'm in the relationships trunk,
I understand.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
That's real. That's real. I feel that one hundred percent. Man.
A lot of people don't get that that that they
don't get that privilege of finding that one person that
they can open up to. And when they do find
that privilege, they have a hard time, you know, opening
up and and to me, what.

Speaker 7 (18:11):
Does feel like you put us luck and understanding? I
know it does hard to understand some people. So until
them learned about yeah it will, we're voting them.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
I feel that one hundred percent. I have a saying
that I like to say a lot of people talk
about we need to be able to communicate, when it
ain't even the communication as a problem. It's the comprehension.
It's the understanding what that person is trying to communicate.
That's you know that that's a big thing that that
we don't think about when it comes to relationships. We

(18:48):
think that, oh, we know this person, so we automatically
understand this person, and that's where a lot of problems
come from. So like, tell me about your special lady
supports you, Like, what are some things that you attribute
to her doing that helps you keep your career, keep

(19:11):
your music to the forefront.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
Well, she she always post my stuff, you know, always
sharing my music, tunity eventury you know.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
What I mean.

Speaker 7 (19:26):
Yeah, man, you gave me a support man, you know,
man for respect her for that.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
That's real, that's real. Respecting goes a long way, boy,
it goes a long way. So definitely, you know, so
that's when you got to.

Speaker 7 (19:41):
Know mine as I respect and I believe it's true.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Yeah, oh yeah, definitely, it is definitely the truth. That means, yeah,
you ain't told no bigger truth through that right there,
because you know, like like a lot of people, like
I'm saying, a lot of people don't get that privilege.
They don't get that honor, and it is a blessing
when you do get that. It's something that's come from
the most high, you know. But now, tell me about

(20:12):
your family growing up, you know, with y'all a close family, mom, dad, sisters, brothers.

Speaker 6 (20:20):
Well, I grew with my mom, you know, and we
had I had a brother and four assistants with my mom.

Speaker 7 (20:30):
I didn't grow with my dad.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
But since I've got more order, yeah, I tend to
be that reallyaschanshed for him and don't keep him close.

Speaker 7 (20:40):
But we're not last him in twenty twenty. So you know,
life goes on seeing way, you know, May sol rest
in peace.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
Yeah right, I'm sorry to help about that. Yeah, And
that's that's something that you know, we have to take
pun like, we have to find out everything about ourselves,
you know, and the best way to do that is
to have that relationship with your parents. Were you able
to get a connection with your father to the point

(21:12):
where you was able to learn things about yourself?

Speaker 7 (21:16):
Yes, yes, mam, right, I agree with one to get there,
you know, right, I agree with bun Man.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
Did he have anything to do with your music career?
Like did he have like did he do music and
passed that alone through you to you?

Speaker 7 (21:32):
Through?

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Like did they or something? I figured that I know
that you can tell me this second generation because we
start early, we start real earlier, Like I'm reading your
you was recording at thirteen, so that means you had
to be sinking since eight nine years old, if not before.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
Then, very early, very early.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Yeah, man, Yeah, that's how you know. It's hardwired into
our DNA and that right there shows well that's where
we get that that that push from that drive from
because it's part of us and we ain't gonna we're
not gonna let it down. And yeah, we get it.
Like I mean, I didn't know my father growing up,
and when I met him, it turns out, yeah, he

(22:19):
used to be a radio DJ. He used to be
he was in the Air Force as a radio DJ.
You know what I'm saying. So I was like Okay,
So I guess that's where I get the music from.
He's showing me all these pictures of him behind a keyboard.
He was playing for it with a band and all
types of stuff. Uh, that's what they I was with
the rap group when I was in Atlanta, so that

(22:39):
was actually something that we had got in common. But
when you was like playing with the with Leap, like,
can you share your experience at the Leap Center and
being the lead singer of the Leap band?

Speaker 7 (22:51):
Wow, Leap sent time. It's so much memory.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
You know, it's a GI.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
Man, it's a GI.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
That's where a further around my music, you know, learn
more about the theory at Leap Center. Yeah, we traveled
all over the island as a school.

Speaker 7 (23:16):
Band, performing for people, and it was an amazing experience.
You know. Yeah, man, I missed that school so much.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Just me, what's one of your favorite memories.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
Of the One of my favorite memories was when it
was one of the student's birthday.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
It was a girl.

Speaker 7 (23:39):
It was her birthday that day and I had to
sing for her in front of the whole school.

Speaker 10 (23:45):
I can't forget that. Yeah, man, I bet she was
really nice. Yeah, I bet she loved that. Yeah, man,
that's what's up. That's what's up.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
And you said you wanted to give a shout out
to one of the teachers. Who is that? And how
do you like? Did they personally influence your music?

Speaker 7 (24:08):
And you well, actually it was the first person I
record for.

Speaker 6 (24:15):
His name is Michael Renalds and the labels second Match
Record Label. Yeah, man, I record some pour up with
songs from for that music teacher, trust me.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Yeah, man, that's what's up. That's what you were saying
about the memories, and I tell you.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
It's our vibe there. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
Well tell us what is the leap Citter all about? Like,
is it still up and running?

Speaker 7 (24:52):
It's our school.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
You're go and learn tride.

Speaker 7 (24:58):
Like a life skill. Yeah, that's what the school is
all about. It's about, okay, getting ulf together to achieve
something in life, you know.

Speaker 6 (25:10):
Yeah, man, safe, if y'all want to be a plumber
or electrician or a chef, a shoe maker, come to

keyword searching things of that nature to check to see
how the artist is doing. You're buzzing right now. So
right now, especially with Stacks and Bricks, you know, their
name is showing up in a lot of publications. So
definitely look forward to seeing what they're going to be

(33:58):
able to produce for you. Like it's just album shoot,
be a shoot hype dance stars or culture dance dance rhythms,
like what kind of what kind of what your game

Speaker 7 (34:18):
It's a it's a it's a mixed channels, some mixedure,
you know, some high dance, all the local call China,
you know, local party vibes. Yeah, we know on the
album so dead, you know after keep the momentum.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
Feel exactly exactly, man, you know what I'm going to
sleep on the album.

Speaker 7 (34:41):
Not sleep thing.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
That's facts right there.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Man.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Like Okay, so like after you drop the album and
what do you what is your goals for the album,
Like do you are you going to do you wanted
to make it onto the charts? Do you wanted to
make it onto the TikTok playlist or the YouTube playlist?
Like what is it that you actually are saying for
the future of this album? And is this the album

(35:10):
that you're going to start doing international tours with?

Speaker 7 (35:13):
Definitely?

Speaker 2 (35:14):
This album?

Speaker 6 (35:15):
Whenever I'm really is it I'm looking forward for grammar Is, Billboard,

for make.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
It okay facts Okay, I like that.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
I like that.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
That means you you're gonna this was when we look
and see the music has a message, you know what
I'm saying because that's what I like to hear. Now,
are you gonna do? Is this the album that you
want to take you outside of Jamaica and start touring with?

Speaker 7 (35:55):
Yes, definitely.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
And what would be the first place you would have
on your on your list? Like if you if you
had a chance to pick your tour dates right now
and pick your where you wanted to go, what's the
first three places you would go?

Speaker 7 (36:11):
Always tell my alious one England first.

Speaker 6 (36:17):
You know, we can't tell them, we can't tell you
know whatever I got quality first, Yeah England, you man, America,
Africa those cheap places.

Speaker 7 (36:32):
Yeah, man, one tour the mo.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
I hear that. I hear that man speaking of Africa.
Man with how do you feel about everything that's going
over and over there with Jeer Mali Burkina fast?

Speaker 7 (36:47):
Is that going to look so far?

Speaker 6 (36:48):
And I'm like unity like kids, yeah, man, years something
like you know exactly, man, this is a beautiful it's
a beautiful filling the final to be able to see it.

Speaker 5 (37:01):
You know, we talked about it.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
For years and.

Speaker 7 (37:08):
Yeah, man, like keep mine Yes.

Speaker 5 (37:14):
Now we're hearing a lot of people starting to see
Ibraham Trey Area as a rock star, and then you
also have people that's like hating on him and trying
to say that he's not really for the people and
things of that nature, Like how do you if you
was to find yourself in a conversation whether they're trying
to characterize whether positive or negative of Ibraham Troy or what,

(37:37):
what would be your stance in that conversation?

Speaker 7 (37:40):
Well? What what I quest standing?

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Man?

Speaker 7 (37:44):
I would quest stand him? Lit with Africa and yeah,
you know, everybody have them positive on their negative side,
So yeah, it's just so bring me that.

Speaker 6 (37:59):
Crass, you know, yeah right, yeah, I'm sidon with him, man,
now that's real.

Speaker 7 (38:10):
Yeah yeah right, smile, Yeah, I'm very man. Yeah, man,
and I relab respect man.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yeah, did you hear that?

Speaker 5 (38:27):
Burna boy he offered to do a free concert for
Bikina Fasso. They haven't responded to that yet, but if
they gave him that opportunity to put on a concert
for Bikina Faso where they he would get artists together
to go into the country and perform, would that be
something that you would be interested in doing.

Speaker 7 (38:50):
Yeah, yeah, nothing is wrong with that.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
You know.

Speaker 7 (38:54):
It's my brothers and my sisters in and so you know,
well I forgive his s trend to it's new.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Facts, you know that, And that's definitely be uplifting. The
spirits of the people now, their day day spirits are
high right now because they're seeing so much progress. But
it's also the beginning of progress. And as everybody know,
at the beginning of any stage of a plan, that's
the hardest part of the plan is getting that momentum.

(39:20):
So I think that a concert would be definitely much appreciated.
And I'm hoping I'm trying to get in touch with
Bernad boys team now to see you know what I'm saying, Hey,
have y'all heard anything? And the soul man will y'all
gonna get the artists from who y'all going to put on?

Speaker 11 (39:37):

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Baby, what it.

Speaker 5 (43:58):
Now? Did you see Jamaica eventually doing the same thing
as all of these other African countries by taking their
complete sovereignty back and not being exploited, especially with the
beaches that all the beaches being brought up in privatize.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (44:18):
Well, fully one day you know all the people weird
kop and and he said, say a full dime, no
you know, but yeah, kind I feel and a jam
fee is I take it? Look good time I ship
thus that you know?

Speaker 5 (44:36):
Yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 7 (44:41):
Is so I one?

Speaker 5 (44:45):
Okay, exactly what do you think it would take in
order for that to happen?

Speaker 7 (44:58):
It will It will take to get an unity, you know,
That's what I think it will take. Unity? Yeah, man,
the most important love.

Speaker 5 (45:15):
Yes, yes, I like that.

Speaker 7 (45:20):
I like people. They're not love and this and I
love that. But come on, you have to love. You
have to love the food that your cook while your cookie,
you love it. That is why you're cooking them running

(45:42):
from it. But you can't run from it. It's dear.
Every days be a self man, I mean sure, love.

Speaker 5 (45:49):
That's real, that's real and you know, we we forget
that part. A lot of people forget that part. They
get caught up in their ego, they get caught up
in their pride, and they completely throw out love. And
we are definitely seeing that like a lack of it

(46:10):
now with especially here in the United States where people
of all types of all types are getting deported left
and right out of the country and being exactly it's
not and the way that we are fighting the people
who are legal people here or whatever. You know, I

(46:35):
don't believe in that terminology, but just to use their terminology,
those people, the citizens are fighting each other. Now you
know about this stance that an agency is putting on
that has already shown that it doesn't really care nothing
about us. But when it comes and I know Jamaica

(46:55):
has had its share of political corruption for gay do
you do.

Speaker 7 (47:03):
It's still it's still it might not that big black
one time, but yeah, it's still.

Speaker 5 (47:13):
Right exactly, and and and you see it like, what
is the mentality. I know how people feel about it,
but what is the mentality in order to be able
to get past this because you all, y'all don't fight
each other like over here in the United States. When
it comes to politics and stuff like that. You have
your internal squabbles. But every time I talk to any Jamaicans,

(47:36):
I don't ever hear oh I don't like that type
of Jamaican or I don't like that Jamaican because he
lives over there. If it is, if it does happen,
it's not like out there in the open. How do
y'all keep that love but amongst you, amongst each other
in order to be able to not go down at

(47:57):
dark path that these United States cities is obviously traveling down.

Speaker 7 (48:03):
Well, this, you know this is weird.

Speaker 6 (48:06):
No, the word understanding jack in again, you know, the no,
the no no ideas people that we have you enjoyed
me theym understand No.

Speaker 7 (48:16):
I realized that, but then it wasn't right, you know.

Speaker 6 (48:20):
So yeah, the table turn, I know, yeahm so you
know we're now I see them fight like that, you know. Yeah,
I'm on in life one.

Speaker 7 (48:31):
Time enough for luck and I'm old and I'm still inside.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
It's not like that.

Speaker 7 (48:39):
No, it's a job, you.

Speaker 5 (48:41):
Know, Yes, that's and that's beautiful right there, and keeping
the most high at the forefront of it is always
going to be helping you keep that love in your
heart and in patience.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
You know.

Speaker 5 (48:55):
Right now we just have to have patience. Hopefully the
love will return because we have patience, you know. But yeah,
you you your music. It's I like, I like how.

Speaker 6 (49:07):
Patience exactly exactly, Like really people like, man, imagine that
machine just coming machines I am twenty people in front.

(49:30):
Tile have some patience.

Speaker 7 (49:32):
Man, you will get your chance.

Speaker 5 (49:34):
You understand, Yeah, facts exactly. And once we get that understanding,
everything can be a lot more smooth, a lot more smooth.
It helps. One thing I like about your music is
the fact that it helps to take your mind off
of the problems that you're currently facing by giving you

(49:57):
that upbeatness, that uplifting, that positive vibe to get you
jumping and ready to go, ready to get back into
the ring, get knock out. What other problems that you're facing.
But how do you see your music even evolving in
the next few years?

Speaker 7 (50:13):
But my music, they are very multiviating and very inspirational,
you know, So hopefully my music will do it, Sirve
You know, I reach you, it's supposed to reach in life.
So yeah, man, I'm looking forward for that, you know.

Speaker 5 (50:34):

when it reaches people, it will help to you know,
rearrange thought processes and help to build back that positive
energy that people. I felt it, you know, ain't gonna lie.
