I'm in Cape Town in the Western Cape, and this
morning on this podcast, I want to chat about how
do you define success? The Bible says in Joshua so
(02:00):
one verse seven, be strong and very courageous, be careful
to obey all the instructions Moses gave you, do not
deviate from them, turning either to the right or to
the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.
In the area of sports, where the score is always
(02:24):
kept and there is always winners and losers, how do
you know whether you are or you are not successful?
Spiritually speaking, I believe success is fulfilling and fully striving
to be fully obedient to God and His word in
(02:44):
all areas of our lives. Based on this, there are
three things required for success. Number one, we must have
a relationship with God, which only comes through the faith
in Jesus Christ. Number two, we must know his word,
which means we have to actually read the Bible. Number three,
(03:06):
we must strive to love in obedience to God, which
means taking his word and applying it daily in our lives.
John hoodmin writes in his book Coach whod is Pyramid
of Success that success is peace of mind that is
the direct result of self satisfaction in knowing you did
(03:29):
your best to become the best that you are capable
of becoming. Within this framework, each person becomes the only
one who can ultimately judge his own or her own success.
We know, and God also knows that we are going
(03:49):
to make mistakes. But if we are making a sincere
effort to follow Jesus Christ, God and all of his
calls that he has called us to be, then we
will be successful, walking in purpose, living with faith and
(04:12):
knowing that success is not based on winning and losing.
And who has the three points or who hasn't done
their best and given their best? Let each one judge
his own sacrifice success. This morning, I'm chatting about if
(04:36):

you define success? On? Hope you enjoy that? Have you all?

you can listen. Audio reaches people in all these screamless moments,
moments that visual media can, but Spotify can. Millions of

two and a half hours a day, and the more
they stream, the more we learn. With every swipe, skip,
and shuffle, we understand our audience.
