There is no shine Welcome back to another segment of
the artist, even soccer show's word. It's a morning motivation.
This morning, on the fifteenth of October twenty twenty five,
I'm chatting about stress pastus. Listen to this. In Psalm
(01:48):
sixty two of US one, the Bible says, I wait
before God, for my victory comes from Him. You know.
As a coach during pre season, our love it, but
as a player I could have done without it. Yeah,
you know, why Because I loved working with the players
(02:09):
and the coaches, and the camaraderie that we used to build,
the cultures that we used to form, the values that
we used to instill in the players, you know, and
just the anticipation for that opening league match, every build up,
every physical conditioning training that I could do, every tactical
plan that I could help instill in the players and
(02:32):
help the coaches with. I loved it. But then the
first game used to come, and sometimes the favor was
not on our side. Sometimes we'd win, sometimes we'd lose.
But most of the times, when things don't happen in
our way or it goes in our favor, then you know,
the stress comes in. And I remember that when you
(02:56):
have lost an opening match, or when you have lost
a match, it's even the worst because you have to
wait until the next match. You have to wait until
the next week, so you have a whole week to
go through, and stress creeps in and then you have
to go back to the drawing board. As as coaches
we say, you know, little by little, each stage moment,
(03:16):
the stress increases. Some of the times it even increases
right after the final whistle has been blown, you know,
and then you think about, Okay, what could you have
done differently or what did you do right that didn't work?
What did you not do that could have worked? You know,
and you go back and you reflect and sometimes when
(03:37):
you win, you have at least five six hours of sleep,
But when the losses come, then that time is obviously
cut short through stress, through worry, through through planning, through
listening to opinions and yeah, come Monday, you have to
reflect with the team. And I'm speaking now as a
(03:59):
co You have to reflect as a team and you
then also analyze with the team what happened on your match.
And I'm speaking now in terms of a loss, but
when it's a victory, it's actually it's quite easy to
deal with that. But you know the difference between relief
and rest is that relief helps us forget about the moments,
(04:24):
while rest just gives us peace and restoration. Relief takes
our mind of things, when rest grabs our hearts and
studies us. You know, part way through some of the seasons,
I would scopt church for a few times and it
(04:45):
will eat on me and thinking that why am I
not in church on a Sunday. Sometimes it's not because
I don't want to, but just because of my job
and that I can't, you know, And my relief would
often come in the form of sleeping longer than maybe
eating more, maybe watching movies, you know, because we are
(05:05):
either in a hotel or we are somewhere out having
to train. But looking back now, I realize how time
with the Lord would have made it so much different.
I've often heard Christian leaders say that we must muss
what we really need two year when we stay away
(05:26):
from church. How much else do we miss when we
put down our bibles and pick up the scouting reports,
the analyzing the team match sheets. So coaching takes up time,
but it's also important to rest, and our time with
the Lord is where we'll find it. Jesus said, come
(05:47):
to me all who are weary and burden, and I
will give you rest. All of you. Take up my
yoke and lean on me and learn from me, because
I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will
find rest for yourselves. That's Matthew eleven twenty eight, verse
(06:08):
twenty nine. So yeah, stress, past us, or how are
you dealing with stress? How are you dealing with failed objectives?
Even though you had all the good intentions. This morning,
I want to tell you that you'll find rest and
peace in God. You'll find rest and peace in His word,
(06:28):
just as I did. For many years. I've been coaching
and then laying down those tools and saying, you know what, Lord,
Yeah I am, I need rest, I need peace. But
still use me in a way that will glorify and
edify your name. You've given me gifts and talents. I
(06:51):
know you will not let that go astray. And this
morning or this afternoon, this evening, if you're listening to
my voice, what has God given you that causes you stress?
Give it back to Him and you will find perfect
peace and enjoy what you are doing. That's it from me.
(07:13):
Hope you enjoyed it. Short sweet spowered by Ardready denicated
