Auteure de plusieurs livres sur le plurilinguisme et la place des langues dans nos systèmes scolaires, elle s'est également engagée dans l'initiative L’ école amie des langues, qui se bat pour qu'aucun enfant ne soit pénalisé pour l’utilisation de sa ou ses langue(s) maternelle(s) à l’école, et pour que tous les enfants aient accès à un environnement favorable aux langues où ils se sentent acceptés et valorisés tels qu’ils sont.
Elle nous parle aussi des questions de formation des enseignants aux enjeux de la diversité ; quand soutenir les enseignants et les écoles dans l’accueil des élèves nouvellement arrivés peut jouer un rôle très important dans leur parcours scolaire.
