Speaker 2 (00:18):
We got that one or something crawling around out here.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
See what it was, whether a person or an animal.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Or I can't go. I know that my thunder light
came on and I did, happened and went and they
didn't think running across the yard, goodbye man or nothing.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
I looked like a man.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
I don't know what it was to do.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Back in two thousand and five, we set out with
one goal to give voice to the mystery and those
who pursue it. Sasquatch Experience Podcast has been your go
to source for serious big discussion where we separate fact
from folklore. Always grounded in research and respect. We've interviewed eyewitnesses,
experts since to the like, because understanding Bigfoot isn't just
(01:02):
about belief, It's about the journey. Nearly two decades later,
we're still chasing shadows and sharing stories. The search never stopped.
Welcome to the Sasquatch Experience.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
You are.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Quick Hello, get somebody out.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Here, and good evening everyone. Welcome to the Sasquatch Experience,
September twenty ninth, Monday, nine o'clock. And you know what
time it is, guys, It is squatching time. So you
(01:47):
got me Sean Forker, James Baker, Henry May, Vance, Nesbitt,
and Matt Arner here and we're going to have a
good show tonight, guys, gonna be talking about well what
Matt and I had been up to leading up to
the premiere of our special project this week, Investigation Bigfoot.
So gentlemen, welcome, Thanks, Hey, I'm welcome to the viewers
(02:12):
and listeners right. Good to have you, Welcome to the
view I'm like, I don't think we're qualifying. Welcome, Welcome
back this week though, Vance, good to have you with us.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Oh, thank you.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
I had a little technical difficulty, so once again tonight
we won't have a Bigfoot bullhorn, but Vance is going
to try to do something live for us at the
bottom of the hour, so we'll make time for Vance.
And you know, a busy weekend. Over the weekend, guys,
for Bigfoot events all across the Northeast. We had the
Whitehall Bigfoot Festival. We had the twenty fifth Annual or
(02:47):
twenty sixth Annual Bigfoot Conference from in Ohio with Don
Keating just you name it. Those conferences, we're going everywhere
and I met a lot to mention them. Also, if
I forgot any I do apologize. And we still have
more lined up for the year. There's one coming up.
(03:08):
Our buddy, Glenn Barruss, is going to be at it
in October eleventh. That's going to be in White Deer
Community Park and New Columbia, PA. Glenn's going to be
speaking on Bigfoot there for the first ever Bigfoot and
Bluegrass Festival. So we got some events coming up in
the pipeline. Guys and folks. Check them out because you
don't know where any of us will end up showing up.
(03:29):
Sometimes it just happens. So there we are.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Speaking of Don.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
He has a new book out which he was selling
copies of the at the conference. When I understand and
he has a book, is thirty dollars if.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
Plus ship with shipping and everything is thirty dollars and
you just pay you since since sent too his PayPal
e B I see it. Yeahoo dot com there you go,
just called the buck Eye Bigfoot too.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Oh, look at that a sequel the e O B
I C at Yahoo dot com. E O B I
CE at Yahoo dot com. You cannot offend Don with cash,
so by all means by his book, yo, right right.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
Also, I want to highly recommend David Zigan's book Casting
Bigfoot Evidence a guy.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
I read that one excellent book, really good.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
In fact, Henry was out there casting his own evidence
in the backyard, so they got him. I got him
outside and doing some some preparations. So very good, Henry.
Glad you put those books out there. Thanks for sending
that out. We're gonna have some interesting guests coming up
over the next few weeks. Uh next show, Lyle Blackburn
(04:53):
will be joining us, so mark your calendar, folks. Lyle
Blackburn from Boggy Creek will be joining us. We'll be
talking about Worth Monster and other things. So that'll be
a good, good show to talk about. Forgive me, I'm
a little bit of a cotton mouth tonight. A little
dry squatch out hunger, folks, is something that we need
(05:16):
to jump back on and get the hang of. We
are have sixty days to meet our goal and we're
about a third of the way there, so Squatch out Hunger.
Go to our website, sasquatch Experience dot com, click on
the banner and go make your contributions. Let's help feed
hungry families, especially if you get ready to go into Thanksgiving.
(05:36):
Can you guys believe we're this close? No, no kidding,
I know officially in fall we have now gotten out
of the summer. We're going to be turning up thermostats
and it's well, my favorite time to be squatching. So
it's a great time year for many. But you know,
I'm going to miss the summer a little bit. I'm
not gonna lie. I'm just gonna miss a little bit
(05:57):
this year, just.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
A little bit.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
So what else everybody else got before we get into
the topics for tonight or the topic for tonight that
I think everybody wanted to join up and hear about.
Anybody else got anything on the hook?
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I'm on the hook for a lot of things, but
not related. We did have the town hall this weekend
that you hosted.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
We did. We did that.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Talk about that a little bit.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
So, uh the town hall. Uh this year we went
with Gwen Purcell. Gwenny and her husband Mike came up
along with my new best friend, Tucker the hell Dog.
Oh yeah, that's awesome, and he was my.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Buddy the whole weekend. But uh wee got up there Friday.
We did some scouting, uh.
Speaker 7 (06:50):
A couple areas I showed, UH, I showed one of
my uh the area, and then we did go to
a place we go somewhere front. I'm not sure if
we did. I think we may have just stuck around
the campground Saturday. It was a very stressful day because
you know, we're all getting ready, we don't know what
(07:11):
to expect. So we ended up getting probably i'd say
about twenty five people, not knowing that one of the
persons that was there was actually a state rep from
the area who wanted to check out the Bigfoot presentation.
So we were very very welcoming with that. We didn't
(07:35):
know until afterwards. We did have a group of there
was probably about ten guys that came in. They were
from Potter County. They were big coyote hunters, so they
spent a lot of time out in the woods. They
did not want to report anything, but they were very
attended and they stayed throughout the entire presentation, which.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Again that.
Speaker 7 (08:03):
Really think it really makes me think that maybe, you know,
there's a reason why they were there. So we did.
Gwen's presentation was fantastic. A lot of the a lot
of people really look they were just you know, so
into you know, her experiences and the way that she
(08:26):
was able to present them, and she went over the
equipment that she uses. Her presentation went fantastic. Mayan, I'm
a little more drier, So I worked on the experiences
within a you know, a five to ten mile radius
of that of that area, which we're getting more and
(08:48):
more every day. And we ended up at the end
having two people, two different It was a husband and
wife on the one side, and then a lady that
came to us. She was at another table that gave
us reports. So the one is actually fairly close to
(09:14):
the campground and these are all class b uh no
one's no one has seen anything but both him, his
wife and his granddaughter have had experiences. They back up
against the mountain and where their camp is that they
(09:36):
may be out at night and they hear something going
through the water in the creek behind your house. They
have found prints, they they have had noises come through
that they couldn't explain. This guy's lifelong hunter, so he
knows coyotes, the owls, the fisher cats, all the different call.
(10:00):
He said, this was not anything he's heard of. So
he said his granddaughter was out there not that long ago.
It was over the wintertime with some college friends and
they had heard something coming through the water and they
saw a trackway that they did not want to want.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
To follow it.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
So anyways, that was fairly a decent report. I'm going
to keep keeping contact with us with this showman. Another
report came from the Alga National Forest, and this one
here really really kind of hit home for me. So
(10:46):
this husband and wife they had been out on the
ATV trail outside Marionville and they had gone down a trail.
They said that there was actually a gate across it
was open for horses, but not ATV, so they stopped
their ATVs. They decided, hey, you know what we're gonna
(11:08):
We're gonna take a little walk. So as they were walking,
they ended up finding a trackway and these prints that
they found, I mean, they were probably more than like
a foot and a half or I guess one and
(11:29):
a half side the width of her husband's boot and
at least another four or five inches bigger, so we're
talking probably about a fifteen inch track, probably about seven
inches wide eight inches wide, and it was consistent, had
a very good stride to it, and it didn't go
(11:51):
along the pathway, but it kind of went dangle to it,
which is important because if you watch the series, that's
something that's important on one of the encounters there. But
as I'm looking at the print, I went in grabbed
(12:13):
a photo of the print that I had found up
in the Allegan National Force, which was probably about forty
miles away. But the prints were very similar. You could
see the toes they had that wide, just that wide,
you know, first half of that foot, and it did
(12:39):
narrow more towards the heel. But looking at those prints,
they were similar, very very similar. So they do have
it up on their Facebook page. I'm gonna I told
them after Ray came back to Civilization, I tried to
you know, I'm gonna gonna reach out to them, and
(13:00):
they do have it on their public page. So I
should be able to find that over the next week
or so and it will compare notes with the ones
that I found. So so anyways, that wasn't the end
of our excitement, and what we ended up doing was
(13:22):
we were trying to find our friend's camp. And this
was around seven thirty eight o'clock at night. Me, Gwen, Mike,
and Tucker the Haundog. We all jumped to my truck
and went down the road where this gentleman's cabin was
(13:42):
the Only problem was he didn't have a sign out front,
and there was two camps. He said, well look for
these signs, and there was about three or four driveways.
We didn't want to go down the wrong drive so yeah, yeah,
not not in Potter County. So we ended up I said, well,
(14:03):
you know what, let's take a drive. We went up
to the top of Nelson Run, which is where where
our camp, the camps campsite is. We went up there,
did some wood knox out at an area that that's uh,
it goes into a valley. We had nothing. We you know,
(14:24):
had a couple of owls here and there, but that
was about it. So I said, you know what, I said,
let's go to one of my favorite spots. And if
you watch the STM series, the Appalachian Bigfoot Files, myself
and Sean were with Alex Pattakov, Brian Garvey, Mike Lucci,
(14:48):
I've forgot anyone, Mike Ann up at the Monteur Road
and if you remember, up at Monteur Road, there was
that one camp site with the with the big view.
You uh, you go out there and you have that
entire view of the valley. We were lucky that weekend
that no one had rented that and uh so we
(15:11):
went up there and we couldn't stay overnight, but we
could at least, you know, stay there and visit for
a little bit. Earlier, earlier that day, we were driving
around and I was showing, showing Gwenn and Might the area,
and this is something that we talked about, Sean. We
see a group of sport bikers, you know, the guys
(15:33):
on they're kind of they're like dirt bikes, but they're
modified for uh for street use.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Very popular up there.
Speaker 7 (15:39):
Yes, so, uh they were behind us. I pulled over,
they got in front of me, and uh you know, uh,
you know, we all gave each other a wave and
we went on our way. Well here, I said, Gwen,
you guys got to see this lookout. So we go
to the lookout and who's there the bikers and of
(16:01):
course Sean, of course Gwen who I I love her, Bravado.
I love her just the way she she talks to people.
She goes up and she was like, oh, have you
guys been here before? Guy's like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
we live and we live close by.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Oh have you had anything weird happen? You're talking about bigfoot?
Oh heck no.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
You know, so it's a machismo, you know, Bravado that
the you know that people will have, you know, especially
in that area, they're not gonna admit you know here.
We we got up there around uh ten thirty eleven
o'clock at night, and I said, well, you know what,
we'll you know, we'll kind of settle in and at
(16:51):
least with that particular spot. If it's more call blasting,
you don't have to worry about having the red lights.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
I just don't have.
Speaker 7 (16:57):
Bright lights, but we don't have to worry too much
about it having just red lights on or you know,
just or going lights out at all. So I figured, well,
this is a fairly decent you know, we'll do some
call blasting. Maybe we'll get a response. So I didn't
Ohio in Ohio, how and both Gwyn and I heard
(17:19):
a response, but it was so far away.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
So I figured out, you know.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Which we've had happened to us up there too. The
last time we were up there, we had those at calls,
right distant calls.
Speaker 7 (17:31):
Well, we were sitting there and I and I would
give it, you know, ten fifteen minutes, I said, all right,
let me try something else. So tried wood knocks.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Nothing.
Speaker 7 (17:43):
We did a whoop and if you see like the
you know, just how steep this drops off. It goes
into all into about four different little hollows valleys. The
one thing was was that when I was doing the
initial call in the whoop, you hear that echo throughout
(18:03):
the throughout that whole whole valleys.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
So it reverbs like I believe, through the peaks, like
it's it's outstanding how far that sound travels.
Speaker 7 (18:16):
Right, yeah, absolutely, So anyways around I guess it was
around eleven forty five, I said, well, you know what,
nothing's really going on. Let me try one more. Ohio.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
How so I go up there, I let it rip. Yeah,
I'm standing there.
Speaker 7 (18:35):
Yeah, when I when I looked up, yeah, yeah exactly.
So I'm sitting there and I have my hands up
you know, by my years, just seeing if I if
I hear any sort of response, and uh, Gwen the
puppy dog and Mike, we were sitting back by a
picnic table over there where the camp campsite is, probably
(18:57):
from about three to four hundred yards away, we heard
the most violent tree break that I haven't I mean,
this was there was no wind, there was no no
rain reach. I mean we had rain earlier in the week,
but everything was relatively dry, and I just heard this tree.
(19:21):
You could hear the initial crunch and then you just
heard this gigantic crack. And this was coming from again,
you know, maybe three football fields away. For for how
that how that sound was, You could tell it was close,
(19:41):
it was within it was on now on our side
of the valley. So I have an idea where where
it came from. I got asked a couple of times,
why didn't you go down there?
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Yea the second question, Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 7 (19:58):
So when we go in there, if you see this place,
you need to people that do any sort of search
and rescue up there. They're going technical. You need to
bring ropes with you to get down into this valley.
It's it's very very steep. There's not many easier ways
(20:20):
to get in there. There's one way I saw on
the map, which was to go at the very top
of a where the hollow is and just to follow
a stream down probably about a mile into where the
it flowed into the mainstream, and there's a there's an
area down there. I think it was called Pogue's Hole,
(20:43):
which is the landmark. I don't know how it got
that name, but that's generally the area. So on Sunday,
I actually want to go get my my trail camp
that was three and a half miles in the woods.
And I said, well, do I want to do that
or I don't, or do I want to go down there.
(21:04):
I really need to get this trail camp because it's
been out there pretty much all summer. So I wanted
to go get that. The next trip I go up,
I have a spot where I can park, head down
to POGs Hole and and give that give that a
walk through and see if there's anything there, see if
(21:25):
I could see where that tree is. But that again, Gwen,
Mike and I when we heard that tree break, that
was I mean that that completely. That was not a
tree knock. This was this was something violently ripping a
tree apart, and it was fairly close. The other thing too,
(21:45):
is that Tucker the hellnd dog. He started acting really
strange after that, and there was one point where he
wanted to he could tell he was he was starting
to get a little nervous, but then he started pulling
Gwen towards the woods, and at that point we were like,
(22:06):
all right, you know, you know, none of us are
you know, are inclined to go hiking down this at
this ravine, you know, so let's you know, try and
get Tucker back and you know, go back during daytime.
So again we're gonna be planning another trip up there
to check out that that particular area, just for any
(22:28):
sort of evidence that we may have. On the other
side of the valley. There's no road access and it's
a whole nother ridge with there's not even there's not
even like logging roads back there, so we're gonna try
and get a hunt.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
I don't know if you can see it, but I've
got the area pulled up on Google Earth here, yes,
and Pog's holes down here near Wharton, So this is
Google Earth right now, so anybody can get on there.
And just to give you an idea, yeah, look at
the valleys and the mountains that you're talking about, you know,
throughout this place, and they don't literal say dynamic on here,
(23:08):
but you know there's some elevation change. Yeah, right, right,
So this is the area that Matt and I, you know,
without giving an exact location, this is it, guys, Like
this area is pretty it's pretty right right, you know,
I'm kind of giving you an overview it is. And
then when you do your diagonals as the crow flies,
(23:31):
it goes right into the Allegheny National Forest.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
Correct, correct?
Speaker 3 (23:38):
So we were actually the area that Matt and I
talk about, right, It's all it all lines up, yes.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
And it's funny because what did I when did I
were talking about this? Like the Algating National Forest? We
how many of us go out there? You know, like
a lot of us, A lot of our friends are
you know, with the Andersons that live out there. Amy
boos out there all the time, Gwen goes out there,
a lot of our other friends and researchers when they
come out. When you go to see Alga National Force,
(24:10):
I've had I've had experiences there too. It doesn't seem
all that you know, crazy or you know, it's you know,
you get some vocalizations you get, you know, some tracks,
what well we had whatever was there on Saturday night,
like that was just plain like pissed off, angry. You
(24:35):
don't run into that in the Algate National Force. It
seems like they're almost like hippie bigfoots, you know, like
they just want to go out there.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah, you said it sounded like it ripped this tree
in half. That's what you said to me the next morning,
Like you sounded like something pulled this tree apart. Yes,
that's definitely not something that's happening. That's happy. Yes, And
you know, I guess your point that we trying to
connect it to Matt is you know, what we've been
(25:03):
running into has been a lot different lately than what
we've had experienced in the past.
Speaker 7 (25:08):
Sure, sure, absolutely, And I do think in one theory
I came up with is we had talked about this
and in a couple of different sections. We don't know
what kind of calls we're doing, you know, we don't
know what that communication is. But I'm more inclined now
that the Ohio holl is definitely an aggressive call. It's
(25:32):
it's probably a territorial marker or or something saying hey,
I'm here, you know, and and so I kind of
think that, you know, the wood knocks, the whoops, different
other vocalizations said they're not as aggressive as the Ohio call.
(25:53):
I think the Ohio call is basically like, hey, come here,
you know, I want to fight you, you know. And
I think Saturday night, that's almost what we got, you know,
if we would have stuck around.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
And we're kind of learning this the hard way. And
we've talked many times that one of the problems you
and I both have with call blasting is we don't
know what it's saying, and like we have a gap there,
so why utilize something we don't understand? But the last
several times we've used sounds and we've used the Ohio how,
we've had some interesting results. And that kind of leads
(26:28):
us into the you know what we can talk about
here before the release of Investigation Bigfoot that you know
was coming up probably this week, our first episode will
be coming out for everybody to view, and I hope
they enjoy it as much as we enjoyed doing it.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Yes, absolutely no red circles either.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
No say no to red any questions before we go
into this or any thing you guys want to add.
Speaker 8 (27:03):
I'm just fascinated by that the terrain because as you're
explaining it to me before Sean pulled it up on
Google Earth, I have a pretty vivid imagination of exactly
the conditions that you were in on top of which
it was what eleven something at night? Yes, yeah, so yeah,
(27:24):
your footing could have been yeah, not good.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Well and listen that road itself, many of the roads
out that way, there's no no way to turn around.
The only way to get out of there is backing
up those roads. No guard rail, no, no guardrail. In fact,
the only way is the only thing stopping you is
a tree probably going over the edge. So it's honest
(27:50):
to God, like, the more we talk about this and
showcase this area, the more trepiditious I get about it
because I don't want people to get hurt, because I
do feel that people are going to try to get
into this area and they're going to hurt themselves because
you're just not prepared for it.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
Yeah, and that's the big thing that we emphasized, we
all we all emphasized with our town hall meeting is
to to go out prepared. But there was two things
I went to add first is I I took both
you and James out to the UH to where that
lookout was, and it's very similar to the where James
(28:29):
had looked at when we did the UH that one
call blast from the pipeline that it's a straight drop
down and it is just not.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (28:39):
Yeah, So that's that's what we're kind of dealing with
in terms of topography there. And again during the nighttime,
it is not you know, I would not be walking,
you know, you'd stay on the stay on the roads,
or if you're gonna be out in the woods, be
(28:59):
on a place where you know that it's mostly flat,
because it could go from you know, it could go
from that to all the way down you know, underfoot
drop without you knowing about it. The other thing, too,
is and again I don't want to give too much bite,
we did have tree knocks, very very very strong tree
(29:23):
knocks that were recorded. I'd probably say less than less
than ten miles from there in the same general area.
So but I don't know if I'm saying too much yet.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Right vance, it's the bottom of the hour. Oh, it's
time for you to live it.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Live, Yeah, New Steam Assemble.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
I'm gonna do it live.
Speaker 8 (29:53):
Yeah, okay, sorry, I don't have any opening comedic remarks
for you. I did come across a report and this
is what we're going to talk about that I found interesting,
and I'll wrap it up at the end of this report.
This happened back in May of this year, and the
(30:17):
witness gives this description as to what his encounter was.
I haul oil from the Welpads to Steubenville, Ohio. I've
been running this route two times a day, Monday through
Friday for the past ten months, so I know this
route really well. There is an eighty four lumber yard
(30:40):
business below the highway. There are railroad tracks behind that
eighty four lumber store. I was northbound on Route seven
crossing the bridge. I looked out my driver side window,
which I'm assuming he means, you know, his door window,
(31:01):
and in the middle of the tracks was a very
large bigfoot with brown hair from head to toe, with
black or muddy hair.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
On its chest.
Speaker 8 (31:12):
The bigfoot was looking up the hill. I immediately called
out on the CBEE radio to get someone else to
look to confirm what I just saw. I was driving
in about fifty five miles an hour or so, so
I didn't have a whole lot of time. The two
things that stood out was it was totally brown hair
(31:33):
except that dark chest. The other is the size of
its shoulder cap on its arm, it was easily the
size of a basketball. After getting my second load from
the Wellpad, I arrived at Tidewater in Steubenville to unload
the rail cars. I was able to stand in the
(31:55):
railroad tracks next to the oil rail cars. They're very large,
and I was able to put my hand eight feet
up in the air next to the railcars. This bigfoot
was taller. I'm six foot six and I must put
this bigfoot no smaller than nine feet tall. At first,
(32:18):
I was thinking it was a dude in a suit
or a hunting outfit, but no, that couldn't be. Everything
is green, and it was turkey season. You don't wear
all brown and long hair suit to go hunt turkeys.
What I saw that day is still in my mind.
What I find interesting is the fact that this happened
(32:42):
less than forty five miles from Salt Fork State Park
in Ohio. And that's what I've got.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Well welcome, Thank.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
You said that.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
See, we wanted to make it more authentic, so we
figured we out off the cams and damn it, that's
what I forgot with sound effects.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
All right, we'll do. The worst part was.
Speaker 9 (33:12):
There was a second train when he was saying he
was near the train.
Speaker 10 (33:15):
Thing, and I was like, oh, if I can only
on mute.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Oh well, Henry sided like that governor from Alabama down there.
Well done, Henry. Oh right, guys. So you know, we
brought everybody on to talk about the upcoming show we've
got and uh, Matt and I talked, and we're going
to invite the rest of the team on to talk
about it after the last episode, but we wanted to
(33:42):
kind of give a little primer up to it because, uh,
they were fantastic to work with. First of all, we
have to say Courtney and Heather and Aaron were great.
And that's the first time I got to spend, uh,
you know a lot of time with Aaron I that
have been passing at conferences, but it was more of
a handshake and a hey, how you're doing as opposed
(34:06):
to this, you know, spending a lot of time with
these really roommates for about four or five days, which
you know, it's a different exping. We should uh, yes, yes,
we should have called that Bigfoot big Brother, to be
honest with you, because it was. We've just had a
lot of fun, a lot of high jinks and uh,
(34:26):
you know, hilarity and of course our new uh, our
newest scripted researcher, Bambi LaRue that will have to make
the debut at some point. And uh, but you know,
while we had fun and it was great being with
those guys and Matt. You know, Matt you coined your
famous saying, we came for the Bigfoot and stayed for
(34:50):
the supper.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
We did.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Yeah, it was really good.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
We had just a wonderful I was. I was actually
surprised that.
Speaker 7 (34:59):
Uh, not only are Courtney and Heather wonderful cinematographers, but
they were also great corks. Right at first night, having
that chicken pot pie, I mean that brought me right
back to home.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
So well, I have to tell you, I don't think
they give themselves enough credit with the work that they do.
First of all, I can't stand still long enough to
you know, I think I was making it was going
to turn Courtney to a hunchback with her having to
carry all that equipment. And because I move a lot,
it doesn't look like I move a lot, but I
(35:31):
move a lot, and to nail me down to keep
me in a shot, I'm sure as sure. But it's
a different experience, different experience for us because you know,
we're used to being on a fixed camera, you know,
talking about this, not taking folks out into the woods
and taking them the places of citing locations. Well, one
(35:52):
of the things I hope people take away from this,
and then I'll let you talk here a little bit
more about your experience with it. That the things we
can talk about was it was a privilege for me
to be able to share some of our friends with
the Small Town Monsters crew, and that we'll be able
to share with an audience that's far greater than maybe
we even get with the podcast that are going to
(36:14):
kind of make their debut into the Bigfoot, you know,
community at large over this little locality. Because these are
folks that don't really go to conferences and they they
really spend a lot of time doing the researcher staying local.
We're getting them a little exposure outside of that, Matt
Vans and guys, so they can you know, kind of
(36:35):
show the the world just the wonderful people we have
here in Pennsylvania that are doing this research.
Speaker 7 (36:44):
Yeah, definitely the people that have the boots on the ground,
you know, and I'll name them right now, like Jeff
and Julie. I mean right, you know, just fantastic people
they are. They are out what five six nights a week.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
They are hands down, no bullshit, they are out.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
There a lot. Yes, and they they know that for us.
They they know those sounds.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (37:11):
They they really the times that I've been with them
and I'd say, hey, you know what, I'm looking at
this spot now. No, no, we're gonna go over this way.
This is where Yeah, we may have heard some wooden noge,
we have heard a call let's go out, uh you
know this way. And man, I'll tell you they they've
been spot on and they are the nicest people like I.
(37:35):
I really well, just going to everyone, and I'm going
to tell you guys a little story back vaccines. I
guess you could say for this my uh, my mother
in law and father in law they were in a
back car crash, uh while we were filming. Thankfully they
weren't they weren't injured, uh greatly, but my other in
(38:00):
law she went you know, she was at the hospital uh,
and uh, you know, everyone was just a record. I
asked my wife, I said, do you want me to
come home right now? And she said, well, she was like,
everyone's okay, the car's gonna need you know, obviously the
car's gonna be total. They're gonna need you know, my
assistants with with some things. You know, Can you come
(38:21):
back and come home tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Yeah? Absolutely.
Speaker 7 (38:24):
I let Sean know, I let Aaron know, I let
Heather Courtney and just the Seana expressed it was like
a big brother. But it was almost like, I mean,
they were like family to me.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (38:38):
In that time that we were there, and then on Saturday,
we did some filming up in the LG National Forest
and then we met up with uh for the second time.
Jeff and Julie Glenn was there and I'm like, you
know what, you know, just the uh just the whole
positive uh you know, uh uh you know energy I
(39:03):
got from them was just really really great, And I'm like,
you know what this is, this is my tribe here,
you know, I mean really uh it was.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
It made me feel good.
Speaker 7 (39:15):
It made me, uh you know, feel better when I
when I was on my way home, and of course,
you know, my wife called with the with the good
news that hey, you know what, everyone's you know back home,
everyone's fine, and uh you know, uh you know, we're
just gonna be happy to see you, so uh again,
the again, the you know, just the camaraderie that you know,
(39:39):
uh uh you know, really team building that we we
build up over those days of shooting was it was
amazing because like I said, I I do. I was
really grateful for uh you know, for the sport that
they that they gave me, you know when when we
found everything out.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
So.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Absolutely, I mean the first concern was Matt, this family
and you know, we can always film and you know
I can run with it. I'm good at pivoting. But
then also you know, we had you know again Gwen,
who's you know, really been a godsend for you and
I lately was able to step in and kind of
fill in on that second night that you were supposed
to be there with us. She stepped in and filled
that up well, and it led for some very interesting
(40:22):
which I which I think is going to be some
very interesting stuff. I think folks will enjoy for this
for the series. But that dynamic and I think this
just goes to show about how we are as a
team in general and real life outside the cameras is
that you meet Gwen and a lot of folks, we
just work well together. And part of the reason why we,
you know, is that that those relationships that we have,
(40:44):
that we've been fostering over the years and being dependable
with one another, and it makes a big difference. And
that's what I really wanted to come through on this.
You know, they asked us on the STM Live last week,
what's one of the things you want people to take
away from this? And one I think I answered it okay,
But and you know, as I think about this more,
(41:06):
you know, to me, small Town Monsters has always been
about telling stories about the people involved in Bigfoot research,
not just so much about the Bigfoot research. And you know,
even though only a small cast of who we work
with on a daily basis, Matt, we're able to share
those friendships and that camaraderie with a larger audience. And
(41:29):
I think folks are going to be there with us
in the moment and feel that. And you know, the
thing that has taken me back is and you know,
mainly because I do a lot of self deprecating. Is
the respect a lot of folks have for me and
the respect I have for them. You know, to hear
these folks say just the nicest things about you when
you know you're bringing them on, introducing them to people,
(41:51):
and you know, trying to help them build their networks
and just working with each other, and the great things
you say like it, It is touch and it's great
to see that genuine respect we have for one another
and be able to put that out there for the
world to see, because it's important. The Bigfoot world is
a lot more than people backstabbing each other to get ahead.
(42:13):
It's you know, we really do work like a family.
We really do. In fact, I think mostly through the episode,
you hear me called Gwen Sis all the time, like
she's she's the big sister I'd never had and always wanted.
I think I call her that several times throughout the filming.
So I mean, that's a genuine, a genuine thing. It's
(42:33):
not for cameras. That's just how we really feel, and
I want people to take that when you watch this.
It's genuine. Nothing happens is premeditated, Nothing that we film
is for the camera. It's all legitimately as it happens
or what's going on with us in the moment as
we're talking about it. It's it's really good and it's
really genuine, and it feels good. I think, you know.
Speaker 7 (42:57):
There was no prep like you know, and why I
say there was no prep. There was no like, Okay,
we want you to say this or we want you
to do that. It was it was like, hey, here's
the microphone, you know, go for it, you know, and
and talk to us.
Speaker 4 (43:12):
And that was that was.
Speaker 7 (43:14):
Something I was, you know, I really you know, I
was thinking that, oh, they're probably gonna have a little
you know, things for us to build up it. But no,
it was, hey, you know, the big thing was get
those microphones on. And that was that was it, you know,
we were that was the only difference between what we
do in regular investigations in real life versus what's on TV.
Speaker 4 (43:39):
That was about it.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
We cameras with us, that's the other thing, that's all. Yeah,
and we had to remember to shut the microphones off
when we went to the bathroom. That was the other.
Speaker 7 (43:48):
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a few times. Hopefully they
didn't get me when you know, I had to go
in the woods. But but yeah, I mean, like like
I said, and the one thing is, I was looking
at the one picture that you have from the screenshot,
and I'm like, you know what, we actually don't look
that bad on camera. But then I'm really self conscious
(44:09):
about that, Like I'm like, oh, man, you know, I'm
gonna come across like you know, a big o or
something like that, and we we actually came across.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
I think.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
You okay. Anyway, that's built in. That's hilarious.
Speaker 4 (44:26):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
That's so funny. Anyhow, Uh No, you're right. I was
worried about I keep calling myself a forest whale because
I'm a lot bigger on camera than I anticipated that
I would be. But you know, if anything, it lightens
us up so we can take our quest to be
fit more seriously.
Speaker 7 (44:43):
Matt and absolutely absolutely so. And there was a couple
of references to the show they asked, and I don't
want to give too much away, but there may have
been somebody that's on this panel right now that they asked,
you know, who do you see as a you know,
somebody important in big Footing, So you know, so that'll
(45:06):
come out in the episodes.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
And the amount of times we referenced James Baker, someone
who's not on the program, like there is a huge
Baker unless they eliminate it. There's a huge Baker presence
throughout the entire weekend.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
He was there with us in spirit. He was yeah, yeah.
Speaker 10 (45:25):
But he didn't. They gave you an open mic and said,
say what you want.
Speaker 9 (45:29):
I can see why I wasn't.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
In it is.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
No no snores. Actually, Matt and I were really well
behaved when it didn't diet like we were really we
were really good. The ladies spent us well, uh, we
had a great time. Lots of fluids, lots of fluids.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (45:52):
The only thing, the only so for me, the creppiest
moment was being in the cabin itself.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
Yeah, I'm get us that they are our room.
Speaker 7 (46:02):
We had we had a room up in the attic,
and then there was a separate room that was separate
from the bath or from the bedroom there that apparently
had this like little tiny creepy door and and there
was like things in there from the past occupants. So
we closed that and and if that ever opens, yeah
(46:26):
that opens in the middle of the night, I'm out
of here.
Speaker 4 (46:29):
And then I broke the step, Matt.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
Yeah, yeah, you almost died getting into.
Speaker 4 (46:37):
Matt.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
The first night we get to the airbnb and Matt
and I are up in the loft and Matt's taking
his stuff up the steps. Matt hits one of the
top steps and lunges forward on this short little uh.
I guess it's landing. Landing that goes into our room.
On the other side of the landing is a bannised
(47:00):
and then open air in the ground in the living room.
Matt almost bit it, Like I thought. I thought, I,
honest to God, thought he was done because I got
up like I was going to stop him. But like
I got up, I'm like, shit, this is not going
to be the way we want to do this.
Speaker 7 (47:17):
Yeah, but yeah, And then on the way and then
when we when I was leaving, I was coming down
the steps with all my stuff and I heard a
creak and I'm like, oh, that doesn't sound good. And
then it went crack. And it was one of the
original steps in the cabin.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
But to be fair, that was already weakened while we
were using it. I mean it was already in poor shape.
Speaker 4 (47:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
No, don't send us a bill that was already in
bill and but my god, it was made of American
chestnut first of all, So if anybody knows, it's functionally extinct.
It's not totally extinct, but it's functionally extinct, and they're
starting to hybridize it again. But it is as a species.
(48:02):
It's functionally extinct for another ocean violation. But what we're
talking and so I mean this all leads to the
ambiance of the cabin is literally just a little fancier
than something that from the Evil Dead. Like the only
thing missing was an was a necromonicon in there. But
(48:27):
it was pretty uh but I tell you what, it
was fun. It was cozy. We did have a great time.
That door stage shut the entire weekend. You couldn't lock it.
But it was out there in the middle of God's Country, Pennsylvania,
you know, up there off you know. I mean, honestly,
(48:48):
I can't wait for everybody to just check it out
and see it because the location's perfect, and you know,
we didn't have to go very far. That's that's the thing.
I mean, we are the back of the cabin, really
am He's out into the what was it cook forest,
into the world cook forest?
Speaker 7 (49:05):
Right, Yeah, just uh, I think about a mile and
a half away from the cabin. Uh if you walked
uh in a straight line, uh to the north, especially
to the northwest, there's nothing there until you get down
to the Clarion River. Well river is you know, I mean,
(49:26):
that's that's all uh this area as well.
Speaker 3 (49:30):
So while we uh you know, getting into the documentary
a little bit more, we do take you to areas
where their sightings. Matt and I do take you into
our research area just a little bit. Which the thing
that amazes me and I'm still tickled by it is,
you know, Matt has there's Matt drives and railroad drives,
(49:51):
but like there's also like to get anywhere, and I
don't think they appreciated that until they were there, is
to get anywhere in that part of Pennsylvania, you have
to drive.
Speaker 4 (50:04):
Yeah, it's not.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
Just a five minute walk to somewhere. I think it's
like twenty minutes to get to a gas station. For
the most part, it's not. It's remote, and you know,
I know folks out there probably live a lot more
remote than that, maybe some folks listening to this program tonight,
But when you're from you know, more of a suburban
metropolitan area. Right, you have those, you are definitely way
(50:28):
out of your comfort zone.
Speaker 4 (50:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (50:33):
I think the closest Walmart host was like an hour
and fifteen minutes. Yeah, and yeah, and there was not
absolutely nothing else there. So but and then I kind
of got they were kind of ribbing me on the
live show when we're doing that, because to me, you know,
to go out and drive an hour and a half,
you know, to the west, you know, to me, that's
(50:55):
like a normal, regular drive, you know. But to them,
they're like, oh my god, it's an hour and a half.
But when we drove though, the time went by really
fast because we were joking, we were talking, we were
telling stories. It was it really was a great time.
So I was the official chauffeur driver. You can see
my truck featured in the Sizzle reel, and I'm sure
(51:17):
in some of the episodes.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
I love it when Matt drives, first of all, because
I can keep an eye out for things and I
have a good eye, and we you know, we just
love to shoot the ship, Matt and I for one.
And just having those guys there being a part of it,
just like I said, it was just natural. It was
like them just being along for the ride. I don't
know if Seymour makes it the elk, remember, yes, I
(51:41):
don't know if he makes a cameo in any of
the videos. But we had we had to stop Aaron
from getting out trying to get a video of it.
Speaker 4 (51:51):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
And then when he saw how fast it just moved
across the road, he cooled down and decided to stay
in the truck because like, yeah, that.
Speaker 7 (51:58):
It was about It was about fifteen yards from our truck,
and this was a big, like, you know, I think
it was like a six by seven or seven by
seven elk, and he was just out there. He was
you know, he was doing his thing, you know, looking
for some ladies, and and yeah, having one of us
go out probably especially when he went to come in
(52:20):
our direction, would not have been a good good.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
Yeah, definitely not. But then the other thing that struck
me on is the morons that were just flying down
that road. Like we're puking alongside the road and there's
this big, you know, bull elk out there and some
guy just drives past us like seventy miles an hour.
Speaker 4 (52:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (52:38):
Yeah, so yeah, it was It was great. It was
great to have everyone there and everyone in the car
I really, I really wish and I'm going to say this,
I really we had James with us, hopefully for we
were kept pushing him for the next one. We got
to get James out there, we got to get wed,
(53:00):
We've got to get advanced, get the get the whole
crew out there.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (53:04):
Uh you know, but uh, you know, it's just awesome
to you know, uh to be involved with this.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
Yeah, definitely a great time. Uh some of the things
I'm I'm really excited for Folcus to seeing. Like I said,
we don't want to give too much of it away,
but uh, you're I think you'll dig it. I did,
and I'm a tough critic, but uh, you know, we
really poured our heart into this and we hope you focus,
especially bringing our friends Jeff and Julie along some other
(53:33):
guest researchers, and then of course, uh you know, later
on down the line, the Ruperts, Yes, my some of
my favorite people. We're going to bring them on the
show too. In fact, we're going to be doing some
things maybe at the end of October if we can
fit something in Matt with the Ruperts, uh, because they
do this thing called the paranormal griddler, and what they
(53:54):
do is while they're talking with witnesses and everything, they're
making them dinner on the Blackstone, and so like, what
better way to connect with people than feeding him? Huh.
It doesn't get more heartfelt than that. And Dave's a
hell of a cook.
Speaker 4 (54:08):
So yes, yes, that's one that advance.
Speaker 7 (54:12):
I would say, drive on over from from Illinois, come
out to Pennsylvania because Dave is an awesome, awesome chef there.
He will make us a great meal, Okay, and yes
that would be fantastic.
Speaker 8 (54:28):
Well when he's on the show. If he's on the
I'll make my reservations then.
Speaker 3 (54:35):
And while we're you know, talking about food, if you
become a Patreon for as little as two dollars a
month there, you can also take a look at some
of that Uy's Big Eats, Big Eaton's. As we talk
about local establishments and big news, we're getting ready to
(54:57):
officially make our first proclamation a restaurant in Pennsylvania as
one of the official preferred restaurants of choice for the
Sasquatch Experience and podcast and research team. So it'll be
a lot of fun. I hope these these folks there
really get a kick out of it. I'm I'm pleased
(55:18):
as pie with it. And I think folks are like
that as well.
Speaker 4 (55:21):
Oh, I think I think they'll love it.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
Yeah, Henry Vance, James, any questions for Matt and I
about this. We've been talking now and talking and talking.
Well that's the whole point.
Speaker 8 (55:31):
R And uh, you know, I'm looking forward to the
entire series and uh that'll put image to the discussion
that we had tonight once you watch it, and I'm
looking forward to that.
Speaker 6 (55:45):
Yeah, So without giving too much away, and I don't know,
I know y'all don't want to get.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
Damn it. We finally get to ask a question any reason.
Speaker 4 (56:00):
I know, damn God, we've lost Henny.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
He come back. It wouldn't work, Brian says, a Ron
doesn't want any moves, and that's true.
Speaker 10 (56:18):
You got to watch that, you know. Not all the
wild animals are as nice as Flappy.
Speaker 3 (56:27):
So go ahead, James. You said you're gonna ask something.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
You want to know.
Speaker 10 (56:30):
I just wanted to congratulate you guys on making big
time there and uh, I'm glad you enjoyed it, I mean,
and that you got to tell your stories and things
like that, because that's that's the reason I like going
to the conferences. Like a lot of it is just
listening to the after stories and stuff like that.
Speaker 9 (56:51):
And you know, we we you know, we we lost
a lot of good people lately used to really hang
with us, and like that was one of the high
points in my time. Was I would sit somewhere, just
sit at a table or something, and then somebody would
come over and go, man, it's you know whatever, and
we wouldn't even talk shop, but just to hear some
(57:13):
of their stories from the you know, you could tell
the honesty of and.
Speaker 10 (57:16):
Whether you believe or not, you could tell the person
talking wasn't doing it out of trying to trick your malice. No,
he genuinely wanted to tell you a story or he
wanted to hear what yours was. I think, And I'm
glad that you guys got that moment. You know, you know,
maybe next time I will go I don't know, you know,
if you know, I get it, I get the memo early.
Speaker 3 (57:40):
No, you know, you know, not to bring this down,
but we did lose another member of the Bigfoot community
over the weekend, and from Squatch America. H Scott uh Uh.
His wife Hannah is in our thoughts. There is a
GoFundMe going on to help Hannah get back on her feet.
And I'll tell you what, folks, don't take any day
(58:01):
for granted. You know, don't forget to tell your friends
you love them, don't forget to tell your family you
love them, be there for each other, enjoy life because
it is too short. And I'll tell you we've lost
a lot of damn good people lately. I you know,
I don't want to belabor a point, but just be
good to each other. You know, at the end of
the day, we're out chasing the giant fucking eight. But
(58:23):
doesn't have to be any more complicated or fully. Just
respect each other, love one another and have a good time.
And from what I saw from Scott and his travels
around the country and going to conferences, he's a man
that served as country. So we do salute you, sir,
and you know, godspeed for your service to our nation.
And you know, definitely send our condolences to Hannah, who's
(58:50):
a Facebook friend of mine as well. And you know,
you just saw the love and enthusiasm he put into
big Foot going around the country. So we've had a
lot of losses lately, and again to all the friends
of Scott and Hannah, our condolences from here from the
Sasquatch experienced all of you. Sometimes we wish you could
be closer with people, folks and this, you know we're
(59:12):
geographically spread apart. But uh, you know again are well
wishes and we do have Henry back here. Maybe we
get Henry to ask that question again. Go ahead, Henry.
Speaker 5 (59:23):
Sorry, I got knocked off flying briefly.
Speaker 3 (59:26):
But you got up again.
Speaker 4 (59:30):
It was the yeah.
Speaker 6 (59:33):
Anyway, Now, without giving too much away, was there any
activity or can you yeah?
Speaker 3 (59:40):
Activity, Yes, there was you see on the on the
stinger right before the episode starts. It takes you right
into the activity and uh it gets you a good hook.
And again, none of it is planned or determined. It
was all natural as happened, and we had no anticipation
(01:00:02):
of it happening. In fact, Matt Matt left, had to
leave early that day, and I texted him that night
and he was pissed as all hell because he left.
Speaker 5 (01:00:13):
He's like sort of a bitch.
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
I left and this happens. I'm like, I know, so
there is activity in the episode.
Speaker 7 (01:00:20):
And what what really got me was I was walking
out and I almost left the thermal my thermal recorder
with you guys, and I should have. I should have said, Sean, hey,
you know what, take this. You know, I'll get it
from you the next time. And I brought her home.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
So well, I mean we did, I'll tell you.
Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
I want to say more than I can't.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
I know, I don't know, I know, but I.
Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
When you folks watched this and appreciate it, you all
appreciate Aaron a little bit more after the fact. Yes,
that's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 7 (01:00:59):
Last episode is gonna be It's gonna be amazing, I hope.
So that's all I can say. We build it up
and boom it really uh really goes for it. But
even with some of the stuff, and I could go back,
I'm sure I could probably say this is you know,
we did evidence review from audio. I had a Wildlife
(01:01:22):
acoustics radio sitting out in the Hammersley Fork area, not
that far from where this this tree was violently you know,
broken apart again, Uh, right down the road from it,
and uh there's some audio in there. So that's all
you can say.
Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
Yeah, Henry, you'll have to go back and listen to
my answer because I went into deep. But you'll be
happy there is some activity in there. Yeah, okay, I
love this. I love this from Brian and you just
picked for work.
Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (01:02:02):
But you know what we didn't. We did not sign
any NDAs. That's the thing. We just signed away our likenesses.
But we uh no NDAs. But we just we want
you folks to enjoy this and watch it. We want,
you know, we want to enjoy the fruits of our
labor for for once. And you know, I love Seth
and I loved the team at Small Town Monsters. I've
supported him from the beginning. I've been a contributor to
(01:02:26):
every kickstarter. I you know, even sell their merchandise at
the beginning at the tables when Steph Seth needed to
step away, And I remember working with Mama Breedlove there
at the table slinging shirts and DVDs. So for me,
it's a privilege and an honor to be cataloged. And
I've appeared in some of their uh you know, documentaries before,
(01:02:48):
but this is the first time we were kind of
featured and it was real special.
Speaker 10 (01:02:52):
So well, it's more sometimes people even forget that he's
not Seth freed love.
Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
There is that lady that Seth and I are one
and the same, and I don't know how that happens,
but it does. But folks, that's it for the night.
I mean, we've already hit that ten o'clock hour. We
hope you enjoyed it a little bit. Gave you a
little teaser and left the background. All right, the night's
getting crazier, folks. Thank you for all tuning in Sasquatch
