much for your support. Well, the title of this episode
today is mastering your Mind and achieving your goals, staying focused.
Mastering your mind and achieving your goals, staying focused. That's right,
despite the news and despite all kinds of things in
(03:55):
the world, we still.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Have to stay focused.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Prayers go out to all the UH people in southern
California that have been affected by.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
The fires, the wildfires.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Our prayers go out to you. Stay hopeful, stay lifted up.
God has not forgotten about you. We have to continue
to persevere in the midst of difficult times. We have
a lot going on in the political world here in
the US, and like I said, we still have to
stay focused.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
We still have to stay focused, and.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
We can master our minds to achieve our goals and
to do the things that are needful so that we
can be the best that we can be. Well, as
I stayed in earlier, Happy New Year, UH, I took
a brief break to just take some time off of
course for the holiday, and now I am back and
(04:56):
I just wanna talk to you about stand focused and
achieving your goals. We cannot be distracted by the news
because sometimes many of us we watch the news to
no end. We watched the news every day. We are
(05:17):
constantly keeping up with current events, and.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
We are just giving the.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
News circumstances and situations. We're giving all of those things
too much of our energy. And I'm not saying that
you shouldn't at all, but you have to do things
with a measure because you don't want to be consumed
with the news, and you don't want to be consumed
(05:48):
with the despair of the news.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
You don't want to be consumed with that. You want
to be filled up and consumed with the things.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
That help you to be better.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
You want to be filled up with the things to
help you to think better and maintain good thoughts. And
you want to be filled up with things to help
you to be an asset to someone else.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
You don't want.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
To be filled up with despair, doom and gloom and
negative thinking.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
You don't want that.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
You want to stay focused on what's important, stay at
the peak of productivity. You want to use management techniques
to focus more on what's important. Cultivate a distraction free
(06:45):
environment wherever you are do what is best for you
by all means, because staying focused is important. When you
are focused, you have the ability to be your best
(07:05):
when you are focused. But when you are distracted, that
means you are divided into pieces looking at too many
things at the same time. So make sure you stay focused.
When you are focused, you have the ability to set
(07:28):
goals with strategies.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
When you are focused, you can excuse me. When you are.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Focused, you have the ability to eliminate procrastination. When you
are focused, you will have a laser aim at the
things you need to focus on. So understand the power
(07:59):
of stand focus. Every day you wake up, from the
time you open your eyes until the time you close
your eyes at night to go to sleep, you must
be focused. Because if you are walking around and you're
just wandering and you don't have a plan, and you
(08:20):
don't have goals, and you don't have a target that
you want to hit every day, that means you are
not on a mission.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
You want to be on a mission of staying focused.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
You want to be on a mission to complete tasks,
to achieve your goals, to do the things you say
you're going to do that's right, and you will do
all those things by staying focused. We all have to
stay focused. It is.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
A daily.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Maintenance we all have to apply ourselves to because when
we are focused, we know what we should be doing.
People that are not focused, they're just all over the place.
They're doing things they shouldn't be doing.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
They are.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Distracted, they are wasting time, they're not completing their goals,
they're not managing time, they're not using techniques and strategies,
they're not doing those things. So we have to be
focused in the midst of tests and trials and the
things that happen in life. We have to be focused.
(09:39):
When we are focused, we give ourselves the ability and
the head start to go forward. Unlike other people that
are not focused. We have an advantage when we are focused.
Staying focused also gives you the ability to define your priorities.
(10:07):
When you define your priorities, you will clearly identify what
is most important when it comes to task and goals
and the things you should be doing every single day.
Eliminating distractions like social media, emails and doing things that's
(10:34):
not necessary, you can eliminate that. You can eliminate spending
too much time on social media.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
I was just talking to it for the Minds.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yesterday, and she said to me, when she is on
social media, she realized that her time is wasted because
she's on there. She picks up up her phone and
she realizes she's on there too long.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yes, and we all have been guilty of that.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
I know I have, because it's times I picked up
my phone, I said, wait a minute.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Ten minutes is a long time. Oh, yes, it is that.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Ten minutes could have been used to do something that
was more important, like making a phone call, that's right,
making a phone call to attend to something more important,
making a plan, reading something you needed to read, cleaning
something you should have cleaned, that's right. Ten minutes is
a long time. An hour is a long time. So
(11:39):
don't let social media take up your time. And don't
let emailing or texting or whatever it is you're doing
that's unnecessary. Don't let that take up your time. Minimize
your distractions. Make sure you manage time so that you
can stay focused. Because when you manage time, stay focused,
(12:01):
you set yourself up to focus on you will set
yourself up to focus on your work.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
You will be specific about when you should do certain things.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Because time management is important, people always say things like, oh,
there's not enough time in the day.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Yes it is.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
It's enough time in the day if you manage it.
But if you don't manage it correctly, it won't be
enough time in the day. So, yes, it is enough
time in the day. I used to hear people, while
I still hear people say that.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
They say, oh, it's it's just not enough time in
the day. If you get up early and you manage
the day.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
By putting yourself on a schedule doing things when you
are supposed to do it, your time will be used correctly.
So manage your time. Also, make sure you continue continually
(13:10):
practice mindfulness.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
I gotta remind you of that, because when you practice mindfulness,
it helps you to cultivate excuse me, it helps you
to cultivate the present moments, moments to be aware.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Of what you need to do. Also, it can reduce wandering.
That's right.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
So practice mindfulness to be present and to reduce mind wandering.
You want to be present in this moment. Have you
ever talked to somebody and they are focused on everything
except for what you are saying to them.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
That is awful.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
When you are talking to someone and they are focused
on everything else except what you are saying to them,
that is just so social, so so rude. They are
not attending to what you are saying because they are
not practicing mindfulness.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
They are not focused, they are distracted. Living in this moment.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Paying attention to this very moment means you are focused,
and when you are focused, you will have the advantage. Yes,
when you are focused, don't overwhelm yourself with things that.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Are not important.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Don't overwhelm yourself with work, don't overwhelm yourself with things
that have to do with the future. Stay focused in
this very moment to do what you must do in this.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Moment to have an awareness and to reduce mind wandering.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Continue to set realistic goals for yourself every single day
as you stay focused and make sure you understand the
commitment you must maintain for yourself when you complete the
goals you say you're going to complete, even if you're
(15:19):
just having a agenda, even if you have an agenda
for just a day, if you can check off each goal,
each plan for that day, guess what that means.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
You stay committed to yourself.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
When you do what you say you're going to do,
that means you are committed to yourself. Many of us
commit to everything else except for ourselves. So do what
you say you're going to do by being committed to yourself.
Because you want to stay focused, stay focused on creating
(16:01):
a dedicated time or workplace or workspace to keep you
free from distractions.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
That's right. You can do that because you should.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
You can do that just because you should, and you
have to do it because we're talking about staying focused.
I'm talking about stay focused and eliminating distractions and doing
what you have to do to do what is important.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Because when you have a goal to master you or
to master something, you have to stay focused. Thing focused
every single day is so important because it's all about.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Discipline as well. That's right.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
We should never be distracted just doing anything any kind
of way at any time.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
We should constantly, consistently be focused.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
So make sure you set realistic goals, practice mindfulness, make
sure you minimize the distractions and create a dedicated workspace
or workplace so that you can eliminate and stay free
from distractions. Also, if you have a health goal, a
(17:35):
health and wellness goal. Make sure you stay focused on
getting up when you say you're going to get up
to work out, take a walk, eat right, make sure
you stay focused on those things as well.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Make sure you stay focused.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
On spending time with your family, taking time out for
people you know need your attention.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
That's right. Focus.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Make sure also you practice self compassion. Why because it
is important to be kind to yourself so that you
don't give out so much of yourself that you become drained.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
So be kind to yourself and practice self compassion because
you don't want to be drained.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Practice self compassion also to.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Like I said, be kind to yourself so that you
can refocus your attention.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Everything we do we must do in decency and order.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Everything we do we must do so that we can
achieve our goals. Because when we seek to achieve our goals,
and when we do and take actions, do things and
take actions to achieve our goals, then we've done what
(19:10):
we say we're gonna do. So on that note, I
am going to conclude this episode. I just wanted to
get back into my lane of talking to you about
some motivational stuff and remind you of these things because
we all need to stay focused.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
We all need to minimize distractions.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
We all need to practice mindfulness, be present in the moment,
practice self compassion.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
We all need to.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Just do the things to help to help us to
be better every single day. And so it's a new year,
and so we have to commit to the things that
are important, taking one day at a time.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Make sure you include God and everything you do.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
And I say that because we are living in a
time that is so urgent, we need to include Him
and everything we do.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
All of us.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Have a purpose and as we fulfill that purpose, no
matter what it is, we.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Must fulfill it keeping God in mind.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Because we didn't give life to ourselves, God gave us life,
and so we have to remember that and include Him
in all things. So on that note, I thank you
